i think one of the things i love to talk about a lot with friends is music - but it is also one of the ways i have become better friends with people i don't know very well. i think it's a fun, generally pretty accessible topic to discuss, and having an open mind and listening to other people's recommendations is a great way to find new music and get to know them at the same time :)

i also keep a large to-listen-to list, of albums, song recommendations, playlists, etc when they come up in conversation so i can check them out at a later time!

something i've been doing lately is reading music newsletters - sometimes they make playlists for you, sometimes they just talk about artists and new releases. in any case i can skim through and listen to whatever albums, songs, etc. that seem interesting. i don't really have a system for this. some newsletters i read:

often i'll just shuffle a playlist or go to a song radio on spotify, listen to made-for-me playlists (specifically, discover weekly or release radar. i usually listen to these in full every week), go down rabbit holes and listen to other user's playlists. this is convenient since often i'll just have music playing and notice that i like a song that's come on.

This post got so long because I was just recording my thoughts as I relistened to the albums so made a short version LMAO

Ruckzuck. Absolute favorite no competition. flute beatboxing pops absolutely off + every time I hear it it's an instant "oh god I should practice with my flute again." florian. king. your mind. oh and fun fact, ruckzuck apparently transformed into Trans Europe Express (or at least parts of it) according to this old recording around the 19-20 minute mark. and TEE is famously my favorite KW album. so I stay winning forreal.

Megaherz with the calmer middle really gets to me. but also Von Himmel Hoch is so awesome, first of all it sounds cool (the way they mimicked sirens/planes/bombs falling/exploding + surprisingly funky??) and Second it was pretty taboo at the time to address the war through music like that, so contextually valuable.

Strom stands out to me as this cool blend of electric and orchestral instruments w/ effect experimentation, and I love its mood and how it becomes this countryish drawling thing.

Kristallo YOU ARE so correct, Kristallo is so good. insane how modern techno the first half(ish) sounds. maybe not the plinky keyboard bits (sorry ralf lol) but the beat... and heimklänge aauuuu ahhh sad howlingaaaauuuuuuuuu

Finally I have to mention the most uncomfortable TV performance I have ever seen in my life, Tanzmusik. the song itself is fine i just think its so funny ralf is straight dying. someone help him.

I found a very interesting detail or "hint" regarding Utahime's CT, it's named after a song about forbidden zone and the lyrics is very peculiar and interesting to say the list, i recommend you check it out if you want! but onto the point here, if you follow the lyrics, you'll notice that singer is talking about one sided love, where she has these feelings for a masked man but he does not reconcile, yet she still continues to have these feelings and remains confused at the same time. now, some of my friends that ship gjhm shared their opinion with me that it could be Utahime having feelings for Gojo but he's not returning them? It's interesting even though i don't personally agree as i don't know for certain if Gege-sensei named her CT solely for that reason or it was just a fun thing because of a known song that has an album called Utahime/

another thing they share with me is that Waka Inoue aka the wallpaper Gojo had as a teen shares some similarities to Utahime BUT also to Shoko too, like they're the same height, they enjoy sport albeit Waka prefers golf etc etc, so they tell me that maybe Utahime was based of on Waka, but the thing is Inoue was a popular gravure model back in 2000s more notably 2006, so this to me makes me believe that he threw her there more for that reason rather than to compare to Uta or Shoko. And that's iiiit, idk i think these theroies/headcanons are cute if you're a shipper but me who likes to read this more critically, especially if the bit about her CT is true, then the ship is kinda debunked? I wouldn't put it past Gege to bait his fans into thinking there's a potential only to throw an ice bucket on their head for disappointment. That's so him smh

how interesting! gege does not have a habit of delving into characters and relationships so it’s truly left to us to dissect forreal. even gojo barely has anything of substance beside a few panels describing One Big Event in his life. i didn’t know about the song though! for gojohime shippers it can be really exciting. i have nothing against theories and people having fun with them. i do agree with you with waka’s purpose, it’s a silly addition in my opinion to show stsgs teenage nature. for any pairing in jjk you have to stretch far and wide lmfao for any connections

After a full immersion listening to the album with headphones I've decided that 1. i wanna get wasted on the beach at sunset and dance like crazy to DLC (eheh), 2. Topline has such a let's-go-to-a-party-and-get-fucking-wasteeeeed vibe i am vibing, forreal. I still can't decide which one is my fav 'cause it is such an amazing album (plus Youtiful on the first day of period was suuuuch a low blow I teared up so bad 😭), they did an amazing job forreal i am so proud of them!

taste -- they’re so sexy!!! thank you dancera for giving us HORNY! also minho’s voice is SOOOO rich and vibrant on this song, i’m going bonkers forreal.

i really love how BRIGHT and zippy the album is on the whole, like even when we come down for 3racha and taste, we’re still in such a vibe. a groove. so delightfully listenable! i’m excited to loop this one. i love stray kids!!!!!!!!

tbh before being an army, i never knew artists could release so much content and genuinely love people who support them the way bts does. and they do a lot of it for free. memories and other things like that.. even when its paid, army are always quick to share and i never seen ppl like that. like even getting freebies at concerts was a whole new experience. nobody does that?? (i know this is more of a kpop fandom thing) but it was a whole new world. so when i see ppl being entitled to wanting them to do MORE as if they didnt get us through this pandemic, got on vlive so much, gave us run, dropped singles, dropped a whole album because of the pandemic, gave us concerts on and offline, its just like??? we are spoiled forreal. i dont think anyone can outlove their fans like they do

i think all of us had the same experience at the beginning and were surprised at how much content we get haha the boys have literally changed our lives at some point, right? yes, it’s amazing how no one gatekeeps, remember how jimin said that they're more than fine with people watching their paid content through ‘illegal’ streaming? because they're aware of different financial situations some people have :( i agree with you, i never spoke on that matter but always complained in my head about ungrateful people who don’t appreciate how much they are doing and i will never understand it. don’t we remember how was things were for example in  2018? when they were so stressed and considered disbanding? we don’t want that, so we would anyone want them to go through this again just to get even more content? we always worried so much about them when their schedule is too packed. i’m honestly happy with how it is now because i know they’re not overworking themselves anymore, and i hope the boys also realized it and won’t allow for this to happen again ;( they know how much we love them and how much we appreciate all the smallest things they give us, and they’ve done everything they could through the pandemic while also struggling personally, and they deserve the biggest respect for doing all that.

I honestly want to go to Pride, it’ll be the only pride festive thing I’d do this month and onward.  I realized that I do like Megan Thee Stallion, as I reopened my twitter and found tweets I had written about her, Lol.  

*side note: my cousin was playing H.E.R. old album and I felt a strange emotion., I was like wow you listen to her H.E.R. he was like she has good music.  Phew, that album got me out of the last situation forreal.

Pressing forward, I am in a space that I feel like a disease and if I went I’d infect people around me, even though pride is about happiness and celebration and my oneself can’t affect masses of people.  It’s my subconscious telling me not to go.  Perhaps typing all my emotions out will release me from being numb.  Perhaps if I go I can receive some healing?  Maybe this is perfect timing to be in a positive space surrounded by people like myself?  I have until Wednesday to decide.  I did fork up over $500 to attend.  I think its like $650 or so, all those damn fees.  Maybe it could cure my numbness?  I feel like one of those broken people, but one that is more aware.  If I don’t go it’s just money lost, and I’d feel bad for wasting money, although money means nothing to me in a since, it just allows me to do things and nothing more.

I kind of want to see what Megan looks like in person.  I kind of want to see Mariah Carey, but me and her got beef from years ago. Lol, she always late and lip syncs.  I kind of want to live the life of VIP because everyone deserves to experience that and I did take off work at which my supervisor approved but could have denied.  Plus it’s my girlfriend first pride and she loves Megan, therefore she deserves to see her side chick and who am I to deny that.  Tomorrow is Monday, maybe I will feel better by Wednesday.  Maybe not.

I have a lot of mental work to do.  I don’t think I have any more sick time left.  There are so many positive reasons to go that would benefit me mentally.  Zena feels as though I should go. Lol, she sick of me laying in bed all day, literally.  Maybe I could meet new people and potential friends?  Too soon actually.  I kind of at this point don’t have much faith or trust in humans.  Everyone either wants to fck on you or use you.  Or better yet, manipulate you and throw you away.  It’s dangerous out here.  We shall see what this week entails.  I’d have to be on point without a phone though;  But all in all, Happy Pride!
