The fandom collectively denies the canon they didn't like, or brings back the character the writers unfairly killed, and they say No Thanks

Hi, anon--SAME. Although what if I told you...a version of one exists in old Voltron canon? In the DDP Comic of Voltron, called A Legend Forged, Lotor and team Voltron accidentally travel 1,200 years into the past and ally to defeat the evil regime run by Lotor's great-great (lots of greats) grandmother. In it, Lotor helps to save Allura from being corrupted by an evil magical entity, and his love for her helps to save the day and Voltron too!

I know it's not the same as the lotura setup in VLD, but it was fun to see Lotor ally with Team Voltron and have it all end well. Lots of snarky, sassy Lotor too. If you're still feeling down, maybe it could help!

Lotura fandom's also got some great art and fics that explore different AUs of what a happy ending could be. I hope exploring those can help as well.

A Lotura art print for your soul, hand-embellished with metallic gold foil. A couple of years ago, when I discovered Voltron: Legendary Defender, little did I know I’d be making art of this beautiful pair of space elves with so much passion 💖 How did VLD impact your life? When the VLD fandom was beginning to quiet down, I was just learning about it. But there are still a few of us left around that enjoy our Lotura corner. Lotor and Allura waltzing among galaxies had me all dreamy and inspired me to draw this artwork. So I’m here for y’all with a rather crazy, detailed gold foil manual labor that I decided to pursue (I love sparkly things 🤩, I’m sure many of you do too, but the amount of sparkles I sprinkled on this one is insane and I may have lost my mind and my eyesight a bit when working on applying the gold leaf). ✨ I could have chosen again a foil printing service, but I decided to have it the old-fashioned way because nothing can beat the brilliant colors of giclée prints on archival paper and some hand-applied foil (I’m a bit crazy about giclées, small confession). This giclée is printed on a 11x14” (28 x 35.5 cm) watercolor bright white archival paper, with Canon Lucia inks and hand-embellished with Schabin composition leaf. Here is the link to my Ko-fi listing. *** Since this is a labor-intensive artwork (the magnifying glass is my friend), it’s going to be a PRE-ORDER listing, so I can have time to properly gild each art print. Fics with toxic relationships because what I want in a fic is a happy ending for all the characters, and if there's a toxic relationship that's definitely not a happy ending to me. Unpopolar opinion that toxic Voltron fans need to accept

Allurance wasn't forced. The two of them were in perfect harmony with each other from the first seasons, moreover more than once Allura makes us understand that Lance mirrors her father a bit and that in any case she is very close to him. Also in s6 ep1 she looked at him one way and I can assure friends don't look that way.

The ships. I have nothing against ships, but I have to admit that many are really shameful. I'm not talking about popular ships like Klance, Sheith, Adashi, Plance… (Which I have nothing against. I don't ship them but I respect them and I respect those who ship them). I really hope people are joking when they create tags like Krolia/Lance or Ina Leifdottir/Coran because, no offence, what have you been drinking while watching the series??? (And I'm not kidding, I actually found them on ao3)

Allura is not lesbian. In every tiktok video where head canons are shown on the sexuality of the various characters I always see that Allura is shown as a lesbian. I get that Lotura and Allurance sucked in the fandom (especially among the klance shippers), but Allura definitely can't be a lesbian. She literally dating two men, she can't be a lesbian!

hello voltron fandom(if you’re still here)

tiktok is bringing it up on my fyp and i decided to rewatch it. while the fixation was short lived, i decided to rework on my oc that i had in 2018. kylara was originally a persona, but at this point, she’s definitely not.

kylara is the “space auntie” of the group, having been their combat instructor at the galaxy garrison before joining voltron. while she was with them at the time, she does her own thing once she gets to altea. speaking of,

she is the daughter of an earth man and an altean man that was apart of a colony of surviving alteans…or so he said before leaving when she was young. being half altean with obvious traits, kylara had to adapt as she grew older. she learned what she could do as an altean as she grew older and was able to blend in with society, except for the ears, which she lied and said it was a birth defect.

while kylara is my main focus, i have a voltron rewrite that actually had her father as one of the main focuses in later seasons. let’s just say that season six is wildly different.

now, i actually ship her with both lotor and allura. she was always shipped with lotor and the allura thing is a more recent decision. i’m considering making it a vee relationship since i actually don’t ship lotura. not for the reasonings of season six, but because i never imagined allura actually liking men. romelle and allura were my otp for a long time and still are.

Thanks for the ask! You didn’t specify which fandom so I’m just going to assume Voltron. Also these are my opinions, I obviously don’t expect anyone to agree with them.

23. Ship you’ve unwillingly come around to.

Lotura/any (non proship) lotor ship. I kind of used to be one of those “grr I hate lotor” people when I was younger/first joined the fandom but since then I’ve come around to him and Lotura.

25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing.

That Clone Shiro/Kuron was this asshole that abused/bullied the other paladins. First of all, He snapped at Lance once and yeah, maybe he didn’t have Shiro’s leadership style but like, he wasn’t abusive or a bully. Second of all, Kuron was made for one thing: to be a spy and destroy/gain information Voltron from the inside. That’s literally why Haggar replaced Shiro with him. He was probably tortured just like Shiro was except he didn’t get the happy ending he deserved, also he literally said in the monsters and mana episode that he wanted to be a Paladin again.
