Despite being winter, it’s still not typical penguin weather here in London. Luckily, this little jackass penguin is from walmer climes. They live in South African waters and got their name due to the loud honking noise they make!
This specimen, may become part of a new permanent display as we will soon begin dismantling our current Natural History Gallery.
Inside the Household Cavalry Museum is a big window into the stables. It’s a bit like peering into a football changing room at half-time. You can watch the soldiers hosing down the stalls, scraping out the grooves in the horse’s hooves, and scooping up big pitchforks of hay to fill up the feeders. They all act totally oblivious to the tourists taking photos of them, so I guess they must be used to it.

Just some of my favourites of Hilma af Klint and Piet Mondrian at the Tate Modern. Amazing how they both developed from nature and landscape to abstract at the same time from similar influences.
" Vertical and horizontal lines are the expression of 2 opposing force; they exist everywhere and dominate everything; their reciprocal action constitutes 'life'. I recognise that the equilibrium of any particular aspect of nature rests on the equivalence of its opposites"- Piet Mondrian, 1937
"... Everything is contained within the black cube: The greenery. of the earth is the bottom of the cube, the blue air is its roof, and the water-filled part is situated at that section if the cube that I rest my back against."-Hilma af Klint, 1917
Last couple of weekends of the Times included reviews of Maisie Peters new album, Eliza Clark's new book Penance and The Change plus 25 Best Elton John Songs. Also an extract from Caitlin Moran's new book, What About Men, which does not look that great.
They also had interviews with Aidan Turner, Idris Elba, Alex James, Shappi Khorsandi talking about her ADHD and bulimia, Sylvia Patterson on her cancer diagnosis/treatment and Andrew Ridgeley talking about Wham to promote the upcoming Netflix documentary.
They also had a couple of interesting pieces on the reopening of the Young V & A museum (what used to be known as the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London) and what airport tribe are you.
Alistair & Zevran were trickier bc their starting gear is armor, so instead I did a little riff on one of the commoner clothing outfits for Alistair and Zevran's outfit is based off the red-orange noble clothing he's in during the post-battle ceremony.
When a woman discloses that she’s autistic, the reaction is often, “But you don’t look autistic,” or even a straight denial, “No you’re not.” This insightful and moving series of portraits and interviews by photographer Rosie Barnes allows the voices and experiences of autistic women to be heard.
