3 FAVOURITE SHIPS:
(Cyberpunk 2077) I have had a long time itch of romancing V and Takemura (tbh don't care if fem or male but never played male, with male V ill prob try kerry because I dislike panam) but mainly if he would decide to abandon his loyalty to Arasaka and become a nomad with V which should have been an option <3 especially could work with corpo V imo.
(SIMS) I oddly ship Don Lothario and Bella Goth. Imo, and don't get me wrong Don is sleazy, but I like the theories that state that Bella didn't really love Mortimer that much...it actually states this in sims 2 psp; but I get people who like to see them as hopelessly in love. I feel like Don messes around with everyone but if he could get Bella he wouldn't care about the others as much anymore. They might even have an open relationship as both are romance sims. I have also paired Vidcund and Nina and they work extremely well somehow, both are shy sims. Where Nina doesn't commit due to being quite poly, Vidcund is focused on his science and doesn't care.
Aside from that I also find tons of different naruto ships interesting, because it isn't based on romance at all I think an AU with romance could be anything.

FAVOURITE COLOUR: black in terms of clothes or usual preference but i love all colours (except sims 3 baby poop)
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single for a long time, I don't have interest in romance. Not sure if i'm ace or arom or not (or perhaps demi) cause i've had past partners but they felt forced in a way and lacking in actual connection. I love my platonic relationships.
LAST THING I GOOGLED: a broken missing mesh for some kitsune tails for my kurama sim but before that i googled the japanese number system lol. Im trying to learn it on duolingo and i didnt understand why there are so many variations.
CURRENT OBSESSION: stardew valley but i think it's fading away cause im a bit stuck with the desert mines and the island. I tried to make my farm look really cool and it well... could be better...I like my house tho, im saving the last room for later.

i did jazz and hip-hop as a kid, i was a cheerleader (backspot) for one year lol, and i played volleyball (middle) for two years. i sucked at everything. i’m not athletic. 😭😭

my government height is 5’6.5” but i like to tell people 5’7” because it’s a neater number. 💀 my height is actually one thing about me that i love. i’m on the tall side but not super tall, y’know? great for concerts. i can see the stage but i’m not feeling guilty bc i don’t block other people’s views.

ENGLISH NATION RISE UP!! i was the kind of girl that everyone hated in english class bc i was always commenting in discussions. also, not to brag (i’m bragging) but i always got the highest scores on essays.

I'm gonna have to go with the UK I think, which feels like a cop out because I have been to many countries and places so picking one that speaks my language and has a similar culture seems silly, but I have been there twice and enjoyed it thoroughly both times.
What's the last movie you've watched? Uhhhhh I don't remember?
What languages do you speak? Fluently, only English. At one point I knew enough Japanese to reasonably get me and my husband around Japan for two weeks, but I have since forgotten most of it. I've been doing Spanish on Duolingo for two years but I would classify myself as a beginner still since I never actually try to talk to anyone.
Do you have any hobbies? Yes? I mean, depends what you consider a hobby, but: writing fanfic, reading, playing piano, jigsaw puzzles, going to parks, going to museums, shopping, and lately I've picked knitting back up and dabbled in embroidery.

Both! I don't have a cat right now after my old lady Ally passed away, but I really really miss having a cat. The neighborhood cats take some of that sadness away though. My dog Abby, aka Bologna lol, is my everything and I really dont want to imagine life without her nope! Not thinking about it!

That's like asking if can I sing lol. No, but that doesn't stop me! I like strumming an acoustic guitar or a charango as if I know what I'm doing.

Sagittarius. Though sometimes I feel as though I'm more of a Pisces since I was supposed to be born in February. I once looked up if being premature has an effect on your zodiac sign. Supposedly it doesn't, but...I just don't know about that. Though I'm sure my brother would say that my temper shows that I truly am every bit of the triple fire sign that I am. I just call that being half Puerto Rican.

That's hard to choose! I loved being in Germany so much and the few places we were able to travel to because of being there. But...I'd have to say Venice. Cause it was just amazing and I want to go back. But also cause a pigeon tried to take out my brother in a sneak attack and I will forever cherish that memory and love pigeons now even more than I already had.
What’s the last movie you’ve watched?
I honestly have no idea. Probably When Harry Met Sally? I was watching all the romcoms I love one day and I think that was the last one I watched? I'm not sure, I watch shows more than movies these days.
What languages do you speak?
As said so eloquently by Korben Dallas, "Whoa lady, I only speak two languages; English and bad English." And even then I still stumble over my words daily as if I haven't been speaking it my entire life. I also can speak a tiny bit of Spanish though I should really try and fix that seeing as how nearly my entire family speaks Spanish. Duolingo makes me think I can speak some Japanese (I cannot).

Writing, drawing, crocheting. All of which I wish I did more of.

how do you not know your ethnicity lol
because it's complicated
genetically i can identify as hispanic or latina, and my father says i am
culturally i have no connection with that heritage. all my spanish speaking relatives passed away before i was born. a lot of them were lost, we literally don't know what happened to them because their records were lost or their names changed - our last name is even misspelled because like four or five generations back the government just like, wrote it down wrong. a bunch of my grandfather's older family members had hispanic names but chose to go by white sounding nicknames. my grandfather was discouraged from speaking spanish growing up both at home and in school, and then he married a white woman.
so my dad and his sisters grew up catholic and took spanish in high school, and they kind of parrot spanglish things their late grandfather used to say, but that's about it.
my father and two of his sisters have brown skin. i have most of my dads physical traits and i tan but i'm not as dark as he is.
i do not appear hispanic and i'm not fluent in spanish. but i also feel things missing and feel disconnected from my mothers side of the family - her father was disgusted that she had "mexican kids"
i once sort of half explained this to a couple coworkers, one hispanic latina and one white, and they like made fun of me and called me "fake mexican" lmao
but i have a hispanic last name and have been teased about this as well
a friend once saw me put my hair up in a towel after i washed it one time and told me my cheekbones looked "mayan"
but i also have my white grandmothers huge head
i have red hair
but it doesn't look like my white family members' red hair, it's dark and coarse.
i haven't disclosed any race on my drivers license.
i'll never get to connect with any of my hispanic heritage and i don't know enough about it or speak the language fluently enough to feel comfortable infiltrating those social spaces, not that i've historically been welcome, and why would i be? i don't experience racism beyond name teasing because i look pretty white. a couple times in my life a white person has even felt comfortable whispering racist comments about mexican people nearby
saying i'm hispanic or latina feels like race faking or claiming an identity that isn't my own in order to feel special. saying i'm white feels like i'm abandoning something important, which in and of itself is kind of a sign of privilege - like the only problem with being white is that i have to say i'm white or something lmfao
i know i'm fortunate, practically speaking, that this is even a concern in the first place. if i wanted i could just be white and act like it doesn't exist. my brother did that and he seems happy.
either way it's like, an actual, physical discomfort saying i'm one or the other. so i don't really have a racial or ethnic identity i guess.
for all intents and purposes i'm white and passively, selfishly mourning the dead parts of me that i'll never be able to experience or reclaim. but that's too long to overshare in the tags of a post about how i pronounce the word "syrup" isn't it
a funny thing though is that i used duolingo all summer and i started to notice that some of the ways my grampa talks might be like, remnants of being taught to talk by people whose first language was spanish. then he taught my dad how to talk, and then my dad taught me how to talk. so if i'm choosing between two shirts i'll be like "should i wear the red shirt or the blue?" instead of "the blue one"
which doesn't sound special but that's the grammatical structure of that sentence in spanish? idk maybe i'm reaching. bye

LMAOO I WAS GONNA BRING UP FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLIDER BUT I WASNT SURE IF YOU WERE WATCHING IT HSKAJ (are you liking it? i know it’s only the first episode but ya know, another one tomorrow night- well tomorrow night for me, and did you like wandavision?? i loved it!!)
oh my goodness i’m watching lion king while writing this and i haven’t seen it in a while and i am..... emotional. but anyway, i love that streaming services think that imma pay for them while they charge $50 a month. like yes of course i have that kind of money and i am going to give it to you to watch tv 🙄 that $50 is budgeted to sims thank you. (ALSO SIMS!!! i’ll get to that in a minute) now see if i don’t google levidia right this minute LMAOO, not that i’m gonna use it.. just for the research...
AND HDKSHS SEND THAT CHAOS WALKING LINK LMAO i saw it for the third time with a different one of my friends and she wasn’t the best one to see it with? she literally was on her fucking phone and i was like ok whatever her loss not mine, and idk if you’ve read the books or if you’ve seen it by now, but by the end of the whole movie, after they’ve confirmed THE THING throughout the whole movie she asked the dumbest question and i’m like diD YOU NOT WATCH THE MOVIE, and i guess she didn’t. so. this sounds so vague but i don’t wanna spoil the movie for you just in case lol.
THE STORY LMAOO, so A DIFFERENT FRIEND LOL, like my oldest bff, we had a day together and we wanted to go see chaos walking. and i honest to God thought that no one would be seeing this movie. like NO ONE. every day, i checked the theater seating and no one was there right? plus i really wanted us to have the theater to ourselves. so we sit in the wrong seats, the row in front of us, STILL THINKING WE’RE ALONE. and then these 3 older people came in AND IM ABOUT TO SCREAM FHSJSH AND IM LIKE “are we in your seats?” and they we were like uh yeah, AND IT WAS SO BAD LMAOO , we’re moving and everything would’ve been FINE but my friend’s reclined seat was going down so slow and as it’s going shes LITERALLY SAYING ALOUD “awkward awkward awkward” so she thinks forget it, lemme just get up. SIMS ahhh, BUNK BEDS, ahhhh sdljdjdjdkdkdldksj i actually haven‘t played it since the update 🤧🤧 i made both of my sims (enisa (bestselling author already, thank you) and michael (aspiring doctor)) go to university and bro it takes so long 😭😭 and you can‘t do anything else if you want them to do well so literally the last three times i played sims i was just constantly clicking their homework and computerd to write their assignments (i play it in german so idk what its called on the sims) and do their presentations and do them all over again so that they get better or whatever for HOURS, but imma play again soon

Nicknames? The vast majority of my fannish friends call me Brynn, including IRL; I answer as happily to that as I do to my wallet name. My husband calls me many ridiculous nonsensical things, such as “lady yam” and “baby puncher” (NOT, I should clarify, because I have ever even considered punching a baby, but because he thinks the combination of words sounds funny).
Real name? I am old school enough to want to keep my wallet name separate from my fannish name, at least publicly on the internets! Lol
Zodiac sign? Gemini (which, man, internet zodiac stuff NEVER seems to really understand/like Gemini). Taurus moon, Leo rising. ENFP, too, while we’re at it. 😂
Favorite musician or group? The Headstones and My Chemical Romance have been my top two of the past several years. Other artists who show up on most of my playlists include Springsteen, Bon Jovi, the Kris Delmhorst/Jeffrey Foucault/Peter Mulvey triumvirate, The Local Strangers, Lake Street Dive, and The White Stripes.
Favorite sports team? The Seattle Mariners (fairly unfortunately for me, though there have been some pretty fun times in there too). My dad loved baseball and I eventually fell in love with it too, in my early 20s, and it was the biggest point of connection we had. And baseball takes up enough of my time and emotional energy that I am so far pretty monogamous about it and have not gotten super invested in any other sports. But I never say never!
Other blogs? My first blog was an LJ, and I still have a Dreamwidth account that I haven’t updated in years. I’m @rockedfaces on Twitter (a lot of my baseball fandom lives there, as well as the ongoing clusterfuck that is the USA, and RTs of cute animals, and some media fandom stuff too). Mostly I can only manage one social media platform at a time so while I totally get the concept of having different accounts for different interests on the same platform, I cannot imagine maintaining that!
Do I get asks? Mostly only when I do ask memes. I always appreciate them though!
Blogs I follow? 185. Though I just came back to Tumblr a few months ago after a years-long hiatus, because I wanted to Get Involved in J/B fandom, so some of those blogs are now defunct and I know there are lots of great ones I don’t follow yet, too.
Tumblr crushes? Obviously!
Lucky number? 7 I guess?
What am I wearing? Black yoga pants, a brewery t-shirt that I got for free as a pub trivia prize, and a sweatshirt for the western martial arts convention that my husband co-runs.
Dream vacation? Right now? The alternate universe where there’s no global pandemic. Failing that, I’d like to go to New Zealand someday, and go back to the UK and Ireland, too. More basically, I just want to walk around interesting cities and eat good food and drink tasty alcohol with people I like. Pretty hikes are good too.
Dream car? I’m not really a car person. But an electric car with a super-long range would be pretty sweet.
Favorite food? I love very many foods! As you might be able to tell by the fact that I wrote a whole long fic about it! 😂 Tough to beat cheese and bread, as a general concept. I’m also extremely into good summer fruit when it’s in season, especially strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, nectarines, plums. Ooh and mango. And a really good peach is transcendent, though they’re rare here. We get amazing cherries though. SO MANY GOOD CHERRIES. Is it time for summer fruit yet????
Drink of choice? I do drink quite a bit of water, and I’m super into fizzy water right now. Alcohol-wise, bourbon or rye (perfect Manhattans are my go-to in the absence of a cocktail list), or a good Last Word in the summer. Also sparkling wine. And beer, especially at the ballpark (IPAs are my standby, as basic as that makes me, though I don’t like the super bitter ones).
Instruments? I played piano through high school and took voice lessons in high school and college (I was a theater kid). I can still play piano veeeery sloooowly if I’m learning something new, though some of the songs I played a lot as a teenager are still in my fingers somehow!
Languages? English and what remains of my high school French. I really want to learn Spanish--if for no other reason than to be able to read baseball players’ Instagram posts--but so far I have gotten as far as downloading Duolingo. IT’S A JOURNEY.
Celebrity crush? Sooooo many. Nikolaj and Gwen are the two brightest stars in my little fannish sky at the moment, obviously. Various handsome baseball players. Ben Browder and Claudia Black. Random facts? Let’s do three to make this 21 questions for real! 1) Ummm. I am bad at random facts about myself! I have one sibling, a brother who’s about a year older, and we were super close up through college (we still get along fine, he’s just been on the other side of the country for years now so our paths have diverged more); 2) We stayed a weekend in one of the treehouses at Treehouse Point in Falls City, WA just before Treehouse Masters really exploded and it was one of the most magical experiences of my life; 3) I never knew I was a dog person until we got a dog, and even though we are dogless now (though I would love to get another one at some point!), I am still very much a dog person, and I always want to see pictures of your dog, FYI.

what’s your go to bed ritual? Turn on F Is For Family or The Simpsons and watch a few episodes of that. If it’s F Is For Family, we normally switch to the Simpsons to fall asleep to. If we already have The Simpsons on, we just watch until we fall asleep or until my boyfriend falls asleep and I turn on a Disney movie to sleep to lol

My husband and the cats. He works in the healthcare system, so he’s gone during the week. And we have been Lysoling his shoes lmao and putting his clothes into a plastic bag when he gets home and he does that laundry on the weekends.

Yes and no. Right now that I can’t choose what to do, it’s making me restless.
AN EVENT THAT YOU WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT GOT CANCELLED?
We had a LOT of plans in March and April. Birthday parties for friends and fam, friends visiting, us going to the east side of the mountains to visit friends, we had a trip planned to go hiking in the Hoh rainforest next weekend with friends... let’s just say every Saturday (except our hermit weekend we have once a month for self care) in March and April was booked and half the Sundays. Watching each weekend pass by and see the stuff I had written on the calendar not happening is not the funnest way I like to spend time.
WHAT MOVIES HAVE YOU WATCHED RECENTLY?
We watched Carnival of Souls for the first time last night. Odd but I can see the influence it had on horror movies following it. We watched Legend (2015) which was good. We watched Invisible Man (really good).
WHAT SHOWS ARE YOU WATCHING?
I finished season 3 of Sabrina finally and watched the first season of Luna Nera. We are working through West Wing from the beginning. Also watching season 3 of Attack on Titan and have season 3 of Castlevania to watch. Still working through Peaky Blinders and took up Thieves of the Woods. Ofc, Supernatural is back on and I’ve missed the last two weeks because I keep forgetting it switched to Mondays! I should stream on the CW.
WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU LISTENING TO?
I’ve been spinning (lol) Grimes’ and the Birthday Massacre’s latest albums A LOT. Run the Jewels released a few singles. Beach Bunny, PVRIS (GIVE ME THE NEW ALBUM!), Little Dragon released a new album, Gaga’s “Stupid Love”, Megan Thee Stallion’s got a new album, DRAMA...
WHAT ARE YOU READING?
I like to read a lot of different things at one time... “The Hand on the Wall (Truly Devious #3)” by Maureen Johnson, “Hold Me Closer Necromancer” by Lish McBride, “The Gilded Wolves” by Roshani Chokski, and “IT” by Stephen King (I have been reading this for 1.5 years LMAO and I am only on page 330 which isn’t even 1/4 of the way thru the book).
WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR SELF CARE?
I am brushing up on my German and I took up Spanish thanks to Duolingo. Been doing that every day to feel like I’m not wasting this time. I have also taken up a workout routine the last month and am continuing that (added some extra work outs this month now that I’ve gotten into the groove). Texting friends, FaceTiming. Keeping the apartment clean because that puts so much stress on me when I see shit out of order. Sticking to our meal planning but still having a cheat day even though we can’t go out! This week, I found Arby’s curly fries at the store and we made our own Arby’s sandwiches with mock Arby’s sauce. That really made me happy.

instrument: I played the violin (very very badly) for about 2 years, and the oboe (for about a year until my teacher moved away - turns out there aren't a whole lot of oboe teachers out there) and I had piano lessons when I was a kid for about 7 years, but i can't remember how to properly read the music now:( I can still play piano but I mostly just figure out how to play songs by listening to them a lot. I prefer playing guitar and ukulele though, they're the ones that I picked up myself so I feel a lot more committed to them
languages: english is my only fluent language, bc our education system doesn’t bother to teach languages as well as other countries do (am I bitter about it? absolutely), but I can just about get by in french and spanish, and I've been slowly teaching myself norwegian on duolingo for about 5 months now (honestly bless that app)

Questions Meme!
Hello, yes, this HAS in fact been sitting in my drafts for ages and ages. Thank you to both @crazy-fruit and @ruby-red-inky-blue for tagging me and for waiting forever for me to answer (oops)! I’m sorry I took so long, but y’all ask really good questions and I had to think about some of them!
Question Set 1
1. How are you?
Oh, I’m doing alright! Thank you for asking. The earlier part of this year was rather rough, but therapy has been helping. I’ve been rather busy these past few weeks with traveling, and my schedule going forward is rather busy, too, so while I’m excited for those things, I’m also excited for the eventual moment I can just relax.
2. What would you say are your talents?
Writing. Making fancy color-coded spreadsheets. I’ve been told that my super power is getting random (annoying) songs stuck in other people’s heads. Does that count as a talent?
3. If you had the chance to start your life again, would you take it?
NOPE. No thanks. I like where I am at right now, and I would not want to relive my awkward years. Er, at least, my more awkward, younger years. Cuz I’m totally still awkward. Just less awkward. I hope?
4. Which language would you like to speak instantly?
HMM. ALL OF THEM. It’s really hard to choose!
Language fascinates me, and in another life I feel like I would have devoted a lot more time to learning more of them. Unfortunately, I really hated German class in high school because of the teacher’s tendency to put people on the spot -- I think that is sort of inherent in a language class, but I get anxiety speaking in public.
Anyways, I suppose I’ll answer Turkish to this question, since spouse and I keep saying we’re going to try to learn Turkish via Duolingo. For the record, my HS offered six languages, which was the most I’ve ever heard of an American school offering, and I was always quite happy with my choice of German. (The others were Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, and Latin.) I do wish I had maintained my German better, and I that I had more time to learn Spanish.
5. Where would you like to be right now?
Honestly? I’m pretty happy when I’m at home. But if I had to answer where “else” would I like to be right now, out of the whole world? Being back on safari in Botswana is a top contender, as are a variety of places in Turkey, and also Munich.
6. What name would you give yourself?
I’ve always liked my actual name (Elizabeth). I know I go by Liz; one of my HS friends was quite stubborn and I’m a bit stuck with it now, but I don’t mind it. There are worse nicknames that come from Elizabeth. I used to go by Fiona online; I’ve always been fond of that one.
7. What is something you’re currently learning?
OOF, what a good question. I sorta blanked on this at first, and my first thought was uhhhh learning how to cope with my OCD??? I’m doing exposure therapy right now, ish. Emphasis on the ish. Also mindfulness. Does that really even count? I started a beginner’s knitting project several months ago that I never finished, does that count? (I just need to seam it, that’s what I’m putting off. I have knit plenty of scarves; however, this is my first hat.) I’m sort of teaching myself ukulele although I haven’t really learned any new chords or songs in awhile. I would very much like to take more photography classes with a focus on wildlife photography. That involves buying a new camera and... signing up for classes.
Question Set 2
1. What is a detail in a piece of art/a text that you like that you really admire?
This was very difficult, at first because it was like looking at a bin full of loose things and just seeing an assortment of color and being overwhelmed by it all, and then because once I did start digging around, I kept finding different ideas and it was too hard too choose.
Character-building: In the A Song of Ice and Fire series, when Arya starts working for the House of Black and White, Martin stops using the name “Arya” as she dons different identities. For example, he uses “Cat” for a bit, among other names. It shows she’s trying to be someone else, but the caveat is that there are still little mannerisms and such that show she hasn’t really left Arya behind (I think maybe she bites her lip or something? I don’t remember specific examples because it’s been over 5 years since I read these books, but I do remember really appreciating the general technique at the time).
Music: In The Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” I love those repeated arpeggios, over and over, building, intensifying, as the white noise comes in and you can just feel the heaviness of desire, of want... (and then I love how it just breaks so suddenly! And I know it wouldn’t have been intended this way because that’s the end of side one, but since I listen to the whole album on spotify, then those bright chords of “Here Comes the Sun” come in and god Abbey Road is the best Beatles album)
Writing: the poetry of Florence + The Machine’s “All This and Heaven Too,” obviously, since literally the title of my blog comes from that. I’d quote that whole song honestly. There’s something that speaks to me about the incapability of language to fully encompass just... everything. I mean, love in specific here, but also just everything. Words are just these little boats we put meaning on and we hope they make it to the other side but everyone takes ‘em a little differently.
Like, look at this:

And I would put them back in poetry if I only knew how

So I was screaming out a language that I never knew existed before
Anyways, there’s also something just incredibly soothing about the music, too, and how she sings the song. There’s another line, from Sara Bareilles’ “Miss Simone” that goes “How does she know what a heart sounds like?” which pretty much sums up how I feel about “All This and Heaven Too” (and also many of Sara Bareilles’ song, especially that particular album, but I digress).
Anyways I did have some art examples, but I think I’ve rambled long enough.
2. Is there an idea that you really liked but had to discard because you couldn’t get it to work?
If I really like an idea, I don’t really “discard” it so much as put it on the shelf to attempt later. Out of recent fic ideas, I’ve really struggled with “How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days.” I first thought of this in late spring 2017, and for awhile I couldn’t stop thinking about it, but I was working on Whatever I Do at the time, and wanted to wait before starting another WIP. By the time I got to writing this, the inspiration well had sort of dried up.
I really like the idea of a fun cat-and-mouse rom-com idea where Jyn and Cassian keep outsmarting each other, with a whole lot of competency kink, some “oh shit we actually work well together!” and maybe some battle couple. And I was really looking forward to both the moment when they both finally let their guards down around each other and the big confrontation when they actually find out each other’s identities. But it involved more mission writing than I was prepared for, and I really struggled with it. I think I need to start over but that involves a lot of working, so it’s unfortunately shelved for now, and I’m working on a “You’ve Got Mail” concept instead.
3. Is there something fandom-related you would like to be able to do (i.e. I’d like to be able to make gif sets but can’t)?
Oh, yes, absolutely! Really anything that’s not writing related, lol. Gif sets, art, etc. But most of all, I have a music video idea for the song “So Close” from Enchanted--like I have a whole story board plotted out in a google doc. But I don’t have any video editing software, don’t even know how you get the scenes for a music video, etc. I have made videos before, but not since high school, and I don’t even have the cheap, basic video editing program I used back then. Sometimes I think I should just attempt make a gif set instead, but there are so many lyrics! and scenes that go with the lyrics! that I don’t know how to consolidate it into that format anyways.
4. What is a skill you’ve acquired through fandom work?
Hmm, this was tough. I’m going to say HTML. I’m not up-to-date on webdesign at all, but back in my early fandom days, I ran a few fansites. I still sometimes use HTML while leaving comments or to edit posts on dreamwidth or w/e. It’s super basic, but it has helped me at work at a variety of jobs. I take it for granted that people my age should know basic HTML, but a lot of them don’t, and then a lot of people I work with now are older and definitely not tech savvy.
5. Do you think anyone can learn to create great art, or does it take talent?
Well, I’m going to cheat a little. I do think think that anyone can learn to create great art, but I also think that everyone has a talent at something, and part of learning to create great art is recognizing your skill sets and honing those. If that makes sense? I’ve sort of seen both sides to this. I’ve seen naturally talented people create great things, but I also think that they’re probably cheating themselves if they’re not learning and honing their craft and trying to get better. But I’ve also seen people who started out making things that maybe you wouldn’t call great, but they worked hard over and over again, and looking at their work now, you’d say they were talented without ever knowing the difference. Great art = talent + learning + passion. Did that even answer the question? ...moving on
6. Do you prefer AUs or in-universe? Why?
I prefer to write in-universe, for sure. I find modern AUs more challenging, mostly because--and I feel kinda bad saying this--it’s very difficult for me to tap into Jyn and Cassian’s characters without some kind of tragic background. Their experiences and how they coped with them shape their personalities, and it’s really hard to separate them from those. My WWII was easier because, hey, it’s war, not so different from in-verse. But I initially tried to write Learning Curve in a modern AU and I was just totally bored. Putting it in universe made it more interesting to me, especially having to finagle a happier plot inverse. IDK, it might even be that I generally struggle to make up any conflict in modern AUs that feels interesting.
THAT SAID, lol, I definitely read either. So it’s probably strange for me to be hung up on it because I’ve read nice fluffy modern AUs and found them perfectly engaging.

Are you named after anyone? Yes: two different great aunts, I think, that passed away before I was born.
When was the last time you cried? Probably when I read The Song of Achilles fairly recently. I mean I knew I would cry, but when it came down to it, I didn’t just cry, I fucking SOBBED. But it was so good! (I know I basically said the same exact thing on the last tag thing but it’s so true lol.)
Do you have kids? Nope. I’m 26 but I still feel like a child myself.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? For sure. More often than not actually lol.
What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their accents. I live in the South, and have for 17 years, but I’ll always be a Jersey girl and Southern accents still/will always grate on me, I def notice/appreciate when people have a Northern or other non-Southern accent here and enjoy it more when I still go visit up north, etc.
What’s your eye color? I got my dad’s hazel eyes, and they’re my favorite of my physical features.
Scary movie or happy ending? Happy for sure. I am THE biggest wimp, so I can’t do anything remotely scary.
Any special talents? Well in college I took badminton as one of my PE credits, and I found out I’m really good at getting really high/far tosses that even get over my head/behind me and serving back the same kind of shot (I don’t remember the proper terminology lol)... I never actually played legit games, just the little matches we had in the class (bc we did have a club team but they were super serious, and except for those shots, I wasn’t that good), and I haven’t done it in a long time so I’m really out of practice, but yeah. (I’ve looked to see if there’s anywhere around here you can play casually so I could get back into it, but no luck so far.) I also have a knack for getting rid of something just before I actually, finally NEED it 🙄😂
Where were you born? New Jersey! The garden garbage state 😬😂 (I still love and miss it but I AM self-aware lol)
What are your hobbies? Watching TV, honestly. I know that sounds dumb because most people like to watch TV, but like I watch/continuously follow (not just watch casually like some people do... even when there’s not that much plot carry-over, how can you just drop in and out/come and go as you please?! I will never understand that lol) so many shows that are like actively on right now with new episodes coming out on the reg. And reading, but I don’t have that much free time, so usually watching all my shows takes priority. So I really only ever get to read on vacations now, which I rarely take 😔 and sleeping 😂 and badminton if I ever get back into it (see above) and I’m actually learning Norwegian right now on Duolingo! Because Skam 😂🤷🏻♀️
Do you have any pets? No. I’m an aspiring dog owner though 😂 I’ve always wanted one but have always lived with people who are allergic/don’t want them 😔 and still do as of right now, so it’ll be a while before I can actually do it. But one day!
What sports do you play/have you played? I don’t have an athletic bone in my body 😂 so other than badminton (see above), which again I never really PLAYED played, and it barely counts anyway lol, and marching band, which I think should count but most people don’t, none.
How tall are you? 5’7”... youngest but tallest of my siblings, and have been for a while, and am constantly used for my height in my apartment 😂
Favorite subject in school? I’ve been done with school for a while now (thank goodness lol) but it was English, which was my major in fact.
Dream job? Writing for TVLine, which basically does online articles all about everything related to TV. Bc I like writing but am very picky about what kind of writing I like, and that would fit the mold, and then I’d get to literally watch TV for a living(!). But I have done absolutely nothing so far to help me get anywhere within the realm of possibility of someday achieving that dream... Mostly because my actual current job is slowly killing me lol.
