Kevin giving Dobson open permission to share anything they've talked in their sessions just to make Jean more comfortable because he knows how difficult it is to earn someone's trust.
bawling my eyes out at the moment. how can you not love them. how can you not love their bond

The thing about Buck is that everyone wants a piece but nobody wants all of him, and the thing about Eddie is that he has a hard time wanting something with all of himself but that’s how much he wants Buck, and the thing about Buck is that he never knows what he wants or makes his own choices but he always chooses Eddie, and the thing about Eddie is that he only makes choices that are for the benefit of other people except he chose Buck for himself

the essential tragedy of eddie diaz is that he is trying to find a replacement for shannon, but not in the sense that he's looking for another mom for chris; what he wants, desperately, is to fall in love again. he wants to feel the way he felt for shannon, even when their marriage was a mess, even when everything was falling apart - even then, he loved her.
and he wants to feel that way again, but he has no idea how to make it happen. both the women he's dated since she died have been - great, on paper. so he asks them out, and he takes all the right steps, follows all the rules, shuffles through these relationship milestones that he doesn't really want, all in the hopes that the feeling he's looking for will eventually manifest, but it never does, and he doesn't understand why.
i just - i have a lot of feelings about that. eddie, and everything he feels like he's supposed to do, and be, and want, and how none of it ever seem to lead to his own happiness. he's always trying so hard at all the wrong things.
i just want him to figure out that maybe falling in love again doesn't have to look like what he had with shannon, and it doesn't have look like anything he's been taught he's supposed to want: it can be something unexpected, and new, and still beautiful

I gotta be honest I do think it would be very funny if after the Binghamton game Lola tried to call Neil to taunt him but it didn’t go through because he never charges his phone so it’s dead and just going straight to voicemail
Like the plan would still work, they didn’t need Neil to know ahead of time, they could still get him away unnoticed with a whole riot happening
But I do think it would have taken a bit of the wind out of their sails. Just a bunch of grown adults huddled around a ringing phone in this car trying to call a teenager to bully him but he won’t pick up. And they’re like ‘no it’s fine it’s whatever’ but clearly they’re a little upset about it

Neil got his unhinged, mental, bullshit-spewing mouth from his mama. Stuart was in the book for all of 4 pages in tsc and was just as blunt, unfiltered, making the same off the wall comments his nephew does. shit runs in the family clearly

the sunshine court spoilers here but:
I’m sorry I cannot stop thinking about “Now I am not safe with you, captain.” I just. Jean felt safe enough with Jeremy to tell him he felt unsafe in that scenario, trusting that Jeremy wouldn’t take advantage of or ignore his fear, trusting that Jeremy would respect his boundaries. Do you think Jean has ever exercised a boundary in the past three years? I don’t think so. I think that every time he tried at first, Riko would use that knowledge to hurt him even more, to deliberately cross them. I think that the boy who expects everyone to hurt him, the boy who says “Contrition, coach,” the boy who insisted he could swim while having a panic attack next to the pool—I think that boy tries so hard not to have boundaries because it’s safer that way. Because no one can exploit them if they don’t know what they are.
But he lets Jeremy know.

I've seen so many people say that we see that Neil is actually really scary or creepy in TSC, and I disagree?? Calculated, yes. Scary? I don't think so. I can see how it might come off that way, because we don't get to see his constant self-doubt and fear, but we know it's still there. I think what we really see in TSC is that Neil is far more intelligent and kind than he gives himself credit for.

So we agree that our boys are the embodiment of the 3 classic responses to trauma.
Fight: Andrew
Flight: Neil
