Love Supremacy - brain rot part 1
So I have a problem. I enjoyed the first half of Love for Love's Sake without knowing I would get absolutely bowled over by the second half. I have so much to say holy fuck, I'm all over the place.
Unfortunately for everyone, my brain has been love supremacied, and I'm unable to move on. The show has a high rewatch value. It’s full of details; big, important ones, and small, insignificant ones, but they all add a lot of weight to the story. I need to exorcise my thoughts for my own sake. I guess if I have to intellectualize it somewhat, I really liked the show cause it’s perfectly balanced in terms of structure, and its themes. Judging from the amount of notes I have made on this show on my second watch, it’s safe to say it’s got some substance. It cleverly uses a mise en abyme, “a story within a story (within a story)” to really stack all those layers, and answer an age-old, quite difficult question: “what’s crucial to a happy life?” Dialogues, scenes, characters, and motifs all echo, mirror, and circle back to one another, giving the story enough dimension to avoid banalities.
Simply put, the thesis of the show is surprisingly philosophical, with universal themes. It posits that life is neither fate nor chance, and the answers are in mundane details of life. "Happiness is hidden somewhere in each of our days."
It’s obviously about love; a double love story even. Myung-ha learns to love someone else, and himself too. It's about life, and it's about death, new beginnings, and everything in between. The show made me feel like this, and like this, and like this, and...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
▶️1. Mirrors/Symmetry
2. Fate, Free Will, and Happiness
3. Game/Reality
The story structure is very symmetrical. Circular almost. I LOVE IT, I EAT IT UP LIKE A HUNGRY, GRUBBY GOBLIN. Things begin where they end, elements keep repeating themselves like a series of mirrors.
By going through the game, Myung-ha finds himself on the other side of the mirror: he is supposed to find his own happiness, and will to live.
Yeo-woon is introduced to the audience as a sad side character in someone else’s story, victim of his “fate.” He almost perfectly mirrors Myung-ha: his background is eerily similar to his. He was raised by his (recently deceased) grandma, with an absent mother and a dead-beat dad. He’s lonely, unhappy.
When Myung-ha first meets him, Yeo-woon is resolutely standing on top of a building, about to fall or jump, which directly parallels Myung-ha's own suicide. In this new iteration of life, in this “game,” he saves Yeo-woon from hurting himself, which is the start of his own salvation. Saving Yeo-woon, the poor guy who didn’t get his happy ending, is saving himself. Yeo-woon is like a version of him right before he lost control of his life, after his grandma died, and he felt abandoned by all. It’s the core of the game, and the core of the drama, but Myung-ha (and we, the audience) can’t understand it right away.
Several details, in retrospect, show that he is the driving force behind this "game", and that it’s, by lack of a better term, both a test (as in, an exercise, a learning mechanism) and a Test (as in, an exam you don't wanna fail.) Myung-ha’s main, most important mission is to “make Yeo-woon happy.” Which he happily and enthusiastically tackles. He does what we all do: he takes a liking to the character most relatable to him. Time and time again, the way he reacts when presented with someone who struggles the same way he did is very telling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He provides comfort. The comfort he lacked in his own life. (distant sounds of my heart shattering.)
But Yeo-woon isn’t the only one mirroring elements of Myung-ha’s life. Sang-won is a careless, tough-looking student, who seems slightly directionless. He picks fights easily and has a reputation at school for being “crazy.” He also smokes and rides a motorcycle (both illegal lol). His mom having abandoned Myung-ha, it’s also relevant to note Sang-won doesn’t seem to have a very good relationship with his own mother, and craves her attention. Although, he is your typical badboy, he is overall nice, sensitive, and has good intentions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Myung-ha himelf appears to have been quite the turbulent student, with his own “mad dog” nickname. He, just like Sang-won, knows a thing or two about school fights, also drives a bike (lmao 100% sure he didn’t wait to have a license to drive though). Although he berates Sang-won for his rebellious side, with the patronizing tone of someone who’s done it all before, he shows genuine care.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, Kyung-hoon. To me, he’s like another facet of Myung-ha’s personality. An absolute sweetheart, without friends, but always ready to help, and open to be befriended. While Myung-ha seems nonchalant about speaking badly of himself, he cannot stand it from others. He makes him his friend on the spot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, he provides like-minded friends the safe space he probably would have liked as a troubled, most certainly depressed teenager. Of course, it turns out Yeo-woon hates himself the most too (and by extension, dislikes everyone else.) It's the first clue for Myung-ha to realize some self-love might be the answer.
As it will become increasingly clear, Myung-ha has no issues protecting, providing for, and loving others, but fails to realize he should do the same for himself to achieve balance, and maybe, a little bit of happiness. The journey to get there makes him care for someone else the way he should care for himself, love someone else, like he should love himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last episode does a wonderful job of confirming what seemed to be threaded through the whole show, and explaining very clearly, in no uncertain terms, what it was all about.
However, the interesting aspect of this “mirror world," is that all of them, and Yeo-woon in particular, flip the script, in more ways than one. They all are a reflection of Myung-ha's life, but transcend their condition of “fictional character.” They’re not virtual. Yeo-woon is not made of something unreal, and he’s not a messed up copy of someone else. He has his own needs, desires, and quirks.
I don't think I can name them all here, but one of my favorite circular storytelling moment happens when Yeo-woon parallels Myung-ha by running to "find his fave." That moment in ep 8 counterbalances the one in ep 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nothing is written in stone, and both of them set off to build their own happiness, against fate.

You should revisit. Though I did lose interest half way through, IU was carrying this drama and it was fun to watch. By the way when it comes to the main couple of Hotel Del Luna basically everyone from what I've seen collectively agrees she had better chemistry with the second male lead Chung Myung anyways.
Interesting. Damn it's been a long time since I got second lead syndrome lol. Well, I'm about to do my hair, so I'll probably rewatch it then.

Hwarang [Ep 14]
I love that they started off with the sweet moment from where the last episode ends, and now we get into the meat of things. Why are the villagers attacking? Oh they stole all their stuff. I think Maek Jong is starting to change. I feel like a couple of episodes ago he wouldn't have cared about citizens like that.
Oooh I love that Ji Gong is telling the Queen off. He's just like "Mam I am not leaving you because I never returned to you" lol. She's so pissed, I love it.
Aww, I love that Ah Ro is being a doctor to even the poor. Haha, she snuck off to help them, and of course, she's still telling her erotic stories lol.
It's good that Ban Ryu and Soo Ho are actually getting along. But, I also feel that won't last either. The bromances in this drama are cute, I like it.
I know that the princess likes Seon Woo but also I don't really like her being so rude to Ah Ro. I mean hell if you actually like the dude wouldn't you want to be nice to his sister whom he cares about so much. (lol not that she knows they are romantically involved cuz they aren't related..but still).
I really dont like that Kang Sung dude omg. I'm crying, why does Dan Se have to be beat just because his brother isn't up to par. It's not his fault he's half noble, and it's not Han Sung's fault that he's not what his grandfather wants him to be.
[Spoiler] OMG Yeong Shil set up the whole thing and had them steal the stuff. He's set them all up for a trap. He's planning to kill Seon Woo isn't he?
Man, this King dude is the worst. Well, I mean I guess he's just being a greedy King but still.
OMG Hwi Kyung is the Queen's brother?? Omg...wait, is Moo Myung his son? Is Moo Myung the actual rightful heir? Well, I guess not since that guy was stripped of his title and stuff. Anyway, I gotta see where this goes. Woah she framed her friend and killed her? This lady is too much. I need the whole story.
This King of Baekje is really evil, I swear. He's finding all of this so entertaining and then he's about to kill a bunch of people. I think he's trying to force the King out of hiding. Oh... I was right haha.
I think Seon Woo is going to claim to be the king anyway to protect everyone. But, he's gonna be in more trouble when they get back to Silla if he does.
AH....HE DID!!!
Ugh these next episodes are going to get more and more serious!!! AHHH!!

let's talk about the parallels between vincenzo kneeling in front of the gun and joon woo kneeling front of the gun:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
disclaimer: some of these might be a stretch lol but i'm just writing as my brain comes up with stuff so read with like a heap of salt. as always, feel free to add on!!
As @kestrel-of-herran pointed out in this post, Vincenzo and Joon woo/Han-seok are narrative doubles and it wasn't until she pointed it out that i really took note of how paralleled their stories are.
Han-Seok is the son of a powerful man, with a half-brother, Han-Seo, that has dragged him down/that he is better than at every turn. Similarly, Vincenzo's adoptive father is a powerful mafia man, and he has a step? brother (i'm not sure what to call him) Paulo, that has dragged him down/Vincenzo is better than at every turn. Both Vincenzo and Han-Seok has a soft spot for their mothers, who were wronged by a man and both of them got revenge: Han-Seok killed his own father, and Vincenzo screwed over the son and wife of the man who jailed his mother.
Han-Seok is a foreigner, a man who studied and was assumed to be in the States, that sneakily arrived in Korea to reestablish his hold on his goal, the Babel group and the Babel tower. Vincenzo is a foreigner, a man who grew up in Italy and arrived in Korea to get his hold on his goal, the plaza and the gold. Han-Seok refuses his true name and goes by Jun-Woo/Jason whereas Vincenzo refuses his true korean name and goes by his Italian one. Both Vincenzo and Han-Seok presents themselves as something they are not: Han-Seok as a lowly intern at a law firm and Vincenzo as a simple Italian man who is there to take care of his investment. Both have a reveal that they aren't who they say they are, one during a game of mafia and the other while exchanging information with Cha-Young and another time in front of the world.
Both of them work with two stubborn, dramatic women who are willing to be ruthless to get their way: Choi Myung-He and Hong Cha-Young and both of them are vying for Cha-Young's attention. Their stories parallel each other in every turn but they are standing at different points in the story. Both of them are also presented similarly in clothing after the reveal happens: Vincenzo's clothes gradually switches to lighter colors and Han-Seok's clothes gradually get darker. Both of them are presented in a Boolaro suit when they make their "true" arrival into Korea to establish that they are equal/at the same level as each other.
Vincenzo and Han-Seok are willing to do anything for their goals, but Han-Seok is focused on playing god in this story or attempting to reach that level (there was a post? or a conversation? about this earlier with Han-Seok/Han-Seo and Babel being like an allegory for stories from the Bible).
So it's very interesting to see that when Vincenzo kneels, the gun pointed to his head, he parallels Han-Seok's expressions. In Han-Seok's scene, the one holding the gun is his weakness and the one he cannot beat whereas, in Vincenzo's scene it is his own family holding the gun (albeit, it is the part that turned on him after he left Italy).
Han-Seok will harm anyone, except directly harm Cha-young (so far), so it makes sense that his true opponent and the one person who has him beat is Vincenzo, who is equal to him/is like him. This is why I think that Han-Seok is accepting of his death when Vincenzo holds the gun to his head, and speeding the process up. He is able to accept death because it is being dealt by a figure that is close to his status/what he considers his equal.
What I think would be interesting, or truly more painful to him, is Han-Seo delivering a final blow towards his head as Han-Seok does not consider his brother his equal and it will crush his whole "god" status he attaches to himself if he is killed by someone of "lower" status. (You can also say that Vincenzo looks less accepting of his death because it is being dealt by Paulo, someone that is of a "lower" status, but I don't think he'll die in this anyways) After Han-Seok scene, the story changes into him developing into his role as the true villain and I anticipate that after this scene, Vincenzo's story will also twist and the show will go deeper into planning the downfall of Babel.

2020 in review: kdramas (the heart fluttering, the disappointing, the saviors of 2020)
it’s december 31st! the new year is quite literally upon us (some of y’all are already in 2021) and my procrastinating self has chosen to upload this today. i’ve always loved these rec lists and I wanted to do one for 2020! this year was a rollercoaster for kdramas with some excellent ones and some not so excellent ones. i watched all of these in 2020 but not all of them were released in 2020.
if you want to use my questions to make your own list please do!! or give your favs in the tags, i’d love to read them. (fair warning, some of these have multiple answers bc i just can’t choose one!!)
drama that made me laugh
When The Camellia Blooms (2019)
Tumblr media
i finally got around to watching when the camellia blooms this year and it. was. so. funny. oh my goodness, the comedic timing in so many scenes was pure excellency and im kinda mad at myself that i didn’t watch this last year. this isn’t just a comedy for those who are interested, its a thriller/romance but its also so fucking funny. definitely watch this if you want to laugh (and be touched bc the emotional scenes in this one are beautiful)
drama that made me cry
Sweet Home (2020)
Tumblr media
hahah….. um this one is gonna go to sweet home friends. i went into this one with zero expectations and the first couple episodes didn’t really wow me? but i kept watching and holy shit fam. this show really picks up story-wise around ep 4 and makes the viewer love a lot of these initially unlikable characters. all i can say is that the end was devastating for me and i cried quite a bit. (warning, there are a lot of mature themes in this one so make sure you look for trigger warnings or send me an ask and i’ll list them all out for you)
best OST
Itaewon Class (2020)
Tumblr media
i loved the ost for itaewon class!! the music is just so inspirational and pump up music, its so good. my favorites are ‘you make me back’ by woosung and ‘start’ by gaho.
drama with chemistry royalty (aka the best couple)
i have three for this one because i just cannot choose one.
It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)
Tumblr media
we recognize this one as one of the best things to come out of 2020. go moon young and moon kang tae have some of the best chemistry i have ever seen in a drama couple. i waited on the edge of my seat every single week for the next couple of episode just so i could fawn over these two. they work so well together, lift each other up, and so fucking funny together and support one another. while they’re not the chillest couple (lmao) they’re most certainly one with the most personality. they’re so cute and bicker and they just get each other. who could ask for more.
Flower of Evil (2020)
Tumblr media
our badass mom and dad 😭😭. this was another peak drama that came out this year and our married partners-in-crime-but-not-really had amazing chemistry. baek hee sung and cha ji won were so cute as a married couple but they were even more precious later on in the drama after certain things unfolded (no spoilers). they both just get each other and protected one another as well as on the most precious kdrama children this year, their daughter eunha. they were so wholesome, flower of evil is so very worth a watch.
Into The Ring (2020)
Tumblr media
this was one of the more underappreciated kdramas of the year but hoo buddy was the main couples chemistry top notch. they were so friggin cute and i just couldn’t. goo se ra is highkey one of the best female characters i’ve ever seen, she’s absolute chaos, lawful chaos, but chaos nonetheless. her other half, seo gong myung is opposite from her as lawful neutral. he’s just along for the ride that is se ra and loves her. they’re both so very fond and protective of each other and back each other up!! very very cute and you’ll definitely replay more than a couple of their scenes together.
most disappointing
Record of Youth (2020)
Tumblr media
it’s sad but true… i went into this one with so much hope and excitement (i was riding off that ‘psycho but its okay’ high) and i was vastly disappointed. the plot mostly focused on the male lead, and there wasn’t much characterization for the female lead which i didn’t like. honestly, i only cared about maybe 3-4? characters in the whole drama. the rest were absolutely terrible or plain boring and i ended up skipping eps 14 and 15 and just watched the finale. i would not recommend tbh.
drama you can’t really get through
Crash Landing on You (2019)
Tumblr media
this one is absolutely on me, i want so badly to love this one. but i just… can’t seem to get past ep 2? i’ve tried!! i swear, but i just cannot get through it. maybe in 2021, i can try again and i’ll enjoy it more.
drama everyone else liked but was meh
Kairos (2020)
Tumblr media
i though kairos was a bit predictable tbh. i know those of us who did end up watching it really liked it but maybe its because i watch so many crime/mystery shows that this one didn’t really do it for me. the writing is quite solid and everything connects well, i would recommend that those who don’t really watch thrillers, to watch this one. (also the friendship between the female lead and her two friends is suuuper cute and worth it alone to watch kairos)
favorite romance
It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)
Tumblr media
yeah… this one wins again lol. what can i say, i just loved it so much and the main theme of the show is romance (its also a comedy and a mental health/healing drama) all i can say is watch this if you haven’t yet, its definitely worth it!!
favorite mystery
Memorist (2020)  & Watcher (2019)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i really enjoyed these two mystery dramas. both were super fun to watch and very kinda unique in their own ways. i liked memorist because it was lowkey funny and i liked the relationships between the characters, but most importantly i couldn’t guess the main antagonist by the end! i really thought i knew who it was and then i was completely wrong lmao. watcher was also very good, the main trio had really good chemistry and i really cared about all the characters. (also i’ll never say no to watching seo kang joon) plus the plot twists threw me a bit at the end which is always a feeling i welcome, i love being surprised and wrong (as long as it makes sense)
favorite slice of life
Hospital Playlist (2020)
Tumblr media
oh my goodness, i was late to the hospital playlist party and i regret it because this show is so. so. good. its just a slice of life following 5 friends who are doctors and work at the same hospital together but its so much more than that. this is honestly one of the first shows i’ve seen that are optimistic? in the show, every time i thought a plot was going to play out a certain way (usually negatively, as tends to be life unfortunately) it surprised me by taking the more optimistic wholesome route. characters in subplots changed for the better, became more understanding, chose to do the right thing, etc. if you want a feel good drama where the main characters have wonderful platonic chemistry and just care about each other but is also super funny, watch hospital playlist!! (season 2 is coming out early 2021 and im so pumped)
favorite fantasy
The Untamed (2019)
Tumblr media
this one is a cdrama but i watched it in 2020, mostly because of how many people on the internet were adamant that the rest of us watch this and ngl they were v right. the untamed was very very good and im really glad i gave it a chance and watched it, its also my first cdrama ever. the chemistry between the male leads is honestly what makes this show and its worth the 50? i think? episodes. to be completely honest the fanfiction for the show are peak and if you do watch this, go straight to ao3 and you will not be disappointed.
dramas that saved 2020
The Uncanny Counter (2020) & Run On (2020)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these two dramas are among those that started airing at the end of the year and will go into the beginning of 2021 and absolutely saved the end of 2020 for me. while neither of these are finished, both have been excellent so far and worth starting. uncanny counter has the best use of the found family trope i have ever seen. i fucking love the four counters and their relationship with each other, how protective they are of one another. they all have amazing chemistry and the actors have amazing chemistry in the making films.
run on has one of the cutest couples that will definitely make my best chemistry list for next year. i didn’t put them on this list bc they actually haven’t gotten together yet but once they do, they’re gonna be freaking adorable, i can already tell. there’s no specific grand events propelling the plot forward, but just following the lives of these unique, interesting and relatable people who have casual yet entertaining conversations with each other. the show is super soft and the main couple are so straightforward and honest (plus theres mutual pining!!)
best dramas of the year
here are my best dramas (and one movie) watched this year, no further explanation given lolol. just watch them and enjoy because these are fucking excellent in the feels department. trust me 💞
It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)
Flower of Evil (2020)
Itaewon Class (2020)
Hospital Playlist (2020)
One Spring Night (2019)
Midnight Runners (2017)
Hot Stove League (2019)
I hope this gives you some fun stuff to watch!! or convince you to start that drama in your watchlists!

Regrets and Realizations
So I need to do work but I have to let this out my system so I can focus (ehem let's see). It's been on my mind for a whole week already! I, uhm, am not really a writer but Vincenzo forced me to be one. Read at your own risk 🤣
Takes places after episode 16 after threatening Jang Han Seok and Choi Myung Hee. Vincenzo coming face to face with regrets of losing his mom and realizing how he doesn't want to lose Cha Young.
Read in ao3
----------
"Regret is the most painful thing in life."
These words echo in Vincenzo's head as he was driving back to the hospital after his encounter with the Babel quartet. He says it so often to people as advice yet with himself, he doesn't know how it applies. Maybe because the life he led in Italy allows him not to have regrets.
Anger. That's all he felt for his mother before he learned the truth. The truth that she left him in the orphanage not because she didn't love him, but because she had cancer. She was afraid to leave his son dying so she chose to send him away.
I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise that I'd come for you soon.
He learned that she looked for him for several years and that after everything that has happened, she still loves him.
There hasn't been a single day that I haven't thought about you.
And now all he felt was regret. Yes he killed the man who killed his mother in front of Jang Han Seok and Choi Myung Hee, but it is not enough. They have crossed Vincenzo and there's no other way for them but down.
He recalled the days when he visits his mom and during those days, Cha Young was with him. Hong Cha Young. She is the reason why he chose to forgive his mother. Because of her, he got to spend a few intimate hours with her - taking selca together, buying her bunggeopang, buying her a bag, taking a stroll with her. If it weren't this strong-willed lawyer who was always by his side, he wouldn't get to spend those precious moments with her. She has slowly become his rock, his foundation, his reason to fight. She supported him even when she knew his deeds.
This made him think of what could have Cha Young felt when her father was intentionally killed by Wusang and Babel. He wasn't even there for her when it happened. He even told her that she should have been a good daughter sooner. It must have been hard for her then. He gripped the steering wheel while he thought of Cha Young in his shoes months ago. If there's anyone who can understand him now, it's Cha Young. And if there's someone who can understand Cha Young, it's him. Funny how their circumstances parallel each other.
-----------
Vincenzo arrives at the hospital with blood on his hands and neck. His white shirt stained with the blood of his mother's murderer. As he went out of his car to get inside the hospital, he took his phone from his coat and called Cha Young. She picked up at the first ring.
"Where are you? Are you okay?" Her voice is filled with worry, fear, and relief. Fear that something might have happened to him without her saying how much he means to her and relief that he finally called, that somehow he's not in danger.
"Byeonhosa-nim." Vincenzo said with the hint of tiredness and loneliness. His tone was cold and void of emotion.
"Yes. Where are you? Did you make him pay? I convinced the staff to wait a little while before proceeding with cremation. Mr. Nam and I will take care of the papers, don't worry. Where are you?" Cha Young said in a single breath. She shuffled outside the morgue to see if Vincenzo has arrived at the hospital.
"Byeonhosa-nim. I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I'm sorry."
"For what? What's wrong? Where are you right now?" He can sense the worry in her voice. He knows she's acting strong but inside she's crumbling for Oh Gyeong Ja's unfair death. Vincenzo now taking the stairs to where Cha Young is. It's good that there were few people in that part of the building at that time. He would have caused a commotion with how he looks right now.
"Make sure you catch him. No, make him pay." Cha Young's words assured him that she trusts him, that she will stay with him no matter how many crimes he commit. Her words were the catalyst for him to make pay whoever did that to his mom. Then he remembered his thoughts during the car ride. He wasn't there for her. But Cha Young chose to be the bigger person and reminded him that regret is the most painful thing in life.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when Mr. Hong passed away. I even amplified that you were not a good daughter to your dad. And yet here you are with me. I really don't deserve you." His tone became soft as he apologize to Cha Young.
"Yah. This is not the time to be saying such things," she said gritting her teeth. "Byeonhosa-nim, please, I just need to know where you are right now and that you are safe," her voice cracking.
The last time he heard her almost crying was when the victim's family was unrightfully murdered. How he wants to hug then, to comfort her, yet he chose not to. He was afraid to overstep the boundaries. But right now, all he wants to do is hug her and not let her go.
Vincenzo spots Cha Young half crying outside the morgue, speaking to him on the phone. He should be the one emotional right now, but Cha Young looked like she was the one who lost a mother. With light steps he walked towards her. She was too preoccupied with their conversation that she didn't notice Vincenzo was already behind her.
"Vincenzo Cassano, where-" Vincenzo ended the call and placed his phone inside his coat.
"Yah!" Cha Young half cried half shouted on the phone. Tears were already welling in her eyes. Then without a word, he swiftly went and hugged her from behind, engulfing her in his embrace. His bloodied hand on her waist; his face buried in her neck. He took the phone from her right hand, tucked it inside her the pocket of her pants and then gently moved his hand back to her waist.
"Byeonhosa-nim. What are you doing?" She wants to turn around but Vincenzo's arms is tight around her.
"Back to byeonhosa-nim again? I'm sorry. This must have been how you felt before. I feel terrible."
"Yah. Don't make me cry anymore. Listen, it's not your fault. Please don't blame yourself. Let's not talk about that. Are you hurt somewhere?" Then Vincenzo loosen his arms from her and Cha Young was able to free herself from Vincenzo. She turned around to look at him. Gone is the cold gaze before he left earlier. With shaking hands he searched his arms, his torso and his chest to see if he has any injury. Aside from a few bruises on his fingers, thankfully he's not hurt anywhere else. Finally she settled her right hand on his face with an attempt to wipe away the blood stains.
Vincenzo was looking at her intently the entire time she was searching his body for any injury. This is the closest physically they have been after their charade as a couple. His left hand went to caress that Cha Young's hand and leaned his head. Her hands are warm on his cold cheeks. He closed his eyes and he spoke, "I'm fine."
"I was so worried. Why would you end the call without saying something?" She removed her hands from his cheeks to hit him in the shoulders just as she did before when she's irritated or excited. But he was quicker and took her hand back to his cheeks.
"I'm sorry. I'm here now."
"Will you please stop saying sorry?" Now they are looking at each other's eyes. The tension between them building up.
"Thank you for staying with my mom."
"I'm returning the favor. You stayed with my dad when I was busy fighting against him. Let's go in." She said changing the topic and dragging Vincenzo by the hand enter the morgue and say his final goodbye to his mom.
"Byeonhosa-nim," he said keeping her from walking, "today I have declared war with Babel. We still have a long war to fight and I don't want to lose you in the process. After mom's funeral, we have to arrange things so I can keep an eye on you. Either I stay in your house or you stay in my apartment." There was a pause and sigh before he uttered, "I can't lose you, too."
"Why?" she asked not looking at him. I can't lose you too. His words echo in her head. Something in her anticipate that he will confess his feelings for her. He's been very subtle about his words and actions towards her but this hug means something else. She wants him to acknowledge his feelings and accept that he deserves love.
"Just agree please and don't ask anymore questions." Because I love you, Hong Cha Young, in his mind he said. But these are the words she was not expecting. Maybe he needs more time. He just lost his mom. I need to stay with him. She sighed and said, "Okay. We'll stay at my house."

So I finished it at last! It's my first fic in long time (oh the power that Vincenzo has). I figured Vinnie will save the confession a little later because what will we viewers look forward to? I hope you enjoyed this short fic!
Edit: I refined it a bit? LOL I might be writing the continuation of this. Chayenzo in Cha Young's house.
Here is Part 2!

Hi Jieun!!
I'm in Korea for an Exchange year at KU right now and fresh out of quarantine.
Just saw your post on yoon seok yeol (sorry if I misremembered his name) and now I have a bit more context for the election. There's posters everywhere, but I don't know enough about Korean politics to really judge any of the candidates.
I also have a question: Two times I now have seen a promotion car/truck (?) for yoon seok yeol that was constructed like a stage on one side, like, half open, and a person standing on that stage was promoting the candidate. Is that normal??? Where I'm from, that vehicle would not be considered road-safe, so it threw me off quite a bit when I first saw it.
Thank you and a good day to you 💕
hello! first off, congrats on finishing quarantine! i hope it wasn't too bad :o
i believe all campaign vehicles take precautionary measures and follow safety rules so no one gets hurt! also, these trucks aren't really meant for normal "driving", so i don't think you can speed enough to cause accidents.
as for the candidates... i also don't know everything about politics and am still educating myself everyday so i don't get brainwashed by fake news... but what i DO know is that yoon seok yeol is worse than park geun hye + trump combined... and now that ahn chul soo has teamed up with yoon... it's going to be a shit show lol. but of course, naver news and broadcasting stations filter everything in their favor bc the majority of reporters are all on the same team. they write lie after lie and it's unfortunately what gets the most exposure so it's inevitable people who don't willingly look into the actual facts, or care for that matter, blindly eat up what they read. that's why so many people think president moon is ruining the country and lee jae myung is some woman hater 🙄 you would think people would know by now not to believe everything on the internet but honestly, i think it's just to feel good about themselves... for being "involved" in politics and to say they "read the news"... like ok lol.
anyway, i hope you have a great year in korea!! i know it may not be the best time to visit, but i can guarantee it is one of the safer countries to be in atm c:

I’m back for another Vincezo clothing observation! Let’s now talk about Myung Hee!
Here’s Han Seo’s if anyone’s interested 👀
Yo. She’s looking/dressing more and more like one of Jun Woo’s signature looks! Is this some sort of foreshadowing for the second half of the drama??? Or am I just over-analyzing?? Only time will tell!!!!
(SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE THOSE, SCROLL FAST NOW!)
Okay first off, here’s a photo of Jun Woo. He dresses like this (polo shirt + sweater) pretty often--at least until he revealed his true identity to other people in ep. 6. That’s one of his distinguishing style.
Tumblr media
Now to Myung Hee. Starting from ep. 8, (after losing to, and being humiliated by Vincenzo + Chayoung in the previous ep.), she starts to wear the polo shirt sweater ensemble more often. This is also the episode where she declared that she never lost twice in a row + Jun Woo praised her “devil spirit” after she screamed at him lol.
Out of the 5 different outfits she wore in this episode, 3 of them are like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 9, we see her dress like that again 2 times out of 3. This is all after she witnessed Jun Woo kill Prosecutor Seo. Curiously, both scenes are connected with death (of the prosecutor and the victims’ families). Also notice the placement of the collar. It’s now tucked in just like how Jun Woo usually wore it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 10: All of the time (3 out 3).
This is also the episode where (1) for the first time, we see Myung Hee and Jun Woo by themselves (they’re usually with Han Seo and/or Atty. Han), (2) Myung Hee declares she wants to live/feel like a god too, just like Jun Woo (and they bonded over that, over coffee), and (3) she jokingly(?) grabbed Atty. Han’s neck. Remember who else did that?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This progression is actually pretty subtle (or I just didn’t pay too much attention to her) that I only realized this in episode 10, the scene with her and Atty. Han.
Also, a side note: In my post about Han Seo’s collar, I mentioned that Atty. Han has also sported the same style (use of a collar pin/bar) once. I was wrong, he actually wore them occasionally! Though not as obvious as Han Seo’s because his pins are smaller. They’re the only characters who have worn those stuff in their collars.
Myung Hee and Jun Woo --> polo shirt-sweater ensemble + the act of choking someone
Atty. Han and  Han Seo --> collar pins/bars + being chocked.

Move over jerks with anger-issues and wrist holding type of male leads, a new era is upon us: the actual non toxic good guys
Tumblr media
Kdramas have been especially kind to my needs and wishes this year, because they have been presenting me outstanding men in the male lead category (and wow, even in the second lead, but that’s a story for another time).
I wanted to focus on the romance aspect of Into the ring on this post but I can’t do that without talking about our leading man and well, that is how this ended up being a bit of an essay on his character. Bear with me and if you haven’t watched the drama may this be the reason it finally pushes you to watch *tries not to judge but does anyway* because it’s awesome.
Btw I’m only on ep 9, I’m not done with this yet. Still there’s spoilers ahead for half of the drama.
I love the romance on this. About ninety percent of the dramas I love and why I love them have to do with this reason. So, no surprise there. But of course, is the way they use the cliché childhood friends who meet as adults and fall in love type of thing, the hilarious dynamic between the two (the bickering), the beautiful, loyal and good souls they both have, their polar opposite personalities and the way they compliment each other because of it, what has me rooting for them.
Tumblr media
I love how she glares at him. And the fact that he not so secretly loves it.
My first impression of Gong Myung, on ep 1, not gonna lie to you, was underwhelming. Then they they presented to me the heroine, which makes for a jarring contrast and I’m here thinking like “This amazing girl with this boring dude? You must be kidding!” but you see, that was my mistake, because it takes time for him to show his personality and what kind of person he really is. It’s like peeling layers off him, which is totally different from the way we meet Sera, since you can see clearly what she is feeling and sometimes thinking.
And omg how can I forget how his words resonate with her? The way he makes her think about things in a real, serious, way. Sure, he’s there to offer support (sometimes without realizing) most of the time, but in my opinion, it takes guts, to talk bluntly to someone you care about and give it to them straight when they need to understand something or when they’re in need of wake up calls. And that leads Sera to reach conclusions and come up with amazingly hilarious plans or blackmails.
Another thing I love about this drama and can be clearly seen on this romance dynamic is how feminist the story is and I love it for it. Is a woman the one who stands up for justice in a more fiery way. Is the woman the one who runs for District Representative and dares to say it’s for the money (which is true but not just that). Is the woman the one who asks for help but she herself takes the decision on what needs to be done. Is the woman the one who’s in situations we normally see men into and I LOVE IT. And the man is head over heels in love with her because of it. It’s beautiful.
Tumblr media
Little moments that made my heart melt of love because of Gong Myung:
When he hires Sera on the first ep because he remembers her
When his dramatic ass rips her resignation form.
“Who do you think is that 9%?“ “People like you... people like me.” I died.
I know he was “pushed” to do it, but when he followed Sera all day while she was doing her campaign.
When he took care of a drunk Sera
When he found Sera’s favorite spot based on just ONE picture.
That moment when they ran together at that sports event.
When he remembered all the things she likes/wanted to eat
When his father’s evil plan clicked in his head and rushed to Sera’s side to tell her to make him her secretary.
When he told to his father he believed in Sera and that he was going to help her.
When he started to tutor Sera for her new position.
Basically all the little ways in which he helped her along the way.
And finally, this confession and that kiss.
The list should be longer, but I cannot possibly put everything here.
The man ends up being his secretary, not because of any antics on female lead’s part, not because of a bad joke or plot from the villain’s part, not even because our girl asked him to do it, nope. He did it on his own because of her. And I think the only flaw I can find on his character is the fact that he didn’t really realize he was in love with Sera until after he was glued by his side for days as his right hand. LOL.
Like I’ve said before, I never go for political dramas, but there’s something so endearing about this one and the way our heroine enters this political world (almost without meaning to), that you just can’t help but root for her and omg it’s so frustrating when she tries her hardest and the credit goes to someone else or when things change in the worse possible way and she feels defeated or when others with more power take advantage of her or try to manipulate her. And for all of that, it’s so good that, not only does she have her family and besties, but also has Seo Gong Myung, who is not her hero and the knight in the shiny armor who comes to rescue her, like a princess, but a real person, a good man, her partner and her equal.
Tumblr media
Also, Gong Myung has no idea what toxic masculinity is and is not interested in ever finding out. Bless him.

Sooo. I decided to draw V's sister from that ask I made yesterday and this is how far I've gotten with it (so yea its unfinished if you couldn't tell).
I gave her her father's eyes and mother's hair. Though she honestly looks more like her mom, maybe? Eh idk.
Also info:
Myung Kim
First Name Meaning: Brightness
Nicknames: Myu (Referred to by most people, including her parents, V, Jaehee, Zen, Yoosung, and Seven. I don't think Jumin is one to use nicknames lol)
Mungle (Jokingly by Seven, referring to how when she is angry she can be more terrifying than the Mongol warriors of the Mongol Empire)
*Age: 23 (AS) 24 (OS)
*Note: This is internationally. Korean she is 24 (AS) and 25 (OS)
Blood Type: A
Birthday: August 19th
Zodiac: Leo
Height: 5'3 ft (161 cm)
Weight: 125 lbs (56 kgs)
Status: Alive (All routes but Secret Ending)
*Missing (Secret Ending)
*Note: She is missing because after V died she became extremely withdrawn and depressed (even a bit suicidal) and eventually disappeared. She's fine (well she's alive at least) but has disconnected from everyone and nobody knows where she is. She moved away from Seoul to the southernmost area of South Korea (evading police officers because of a missing person report the RFA filed) to get away from everything. She battles with suicidal thoughts every day. This is assuming she is not the MC. If she were she would still become extremely depressed and withdrawn, but Seven and the RFA would be there so she would likely be ok. Mostly.
Occupation: Freelance Digital Artist
Affiliations: RFA (CS and DS)
Mint Eye (AS If MC)
Hobbies: Painting, Taking Walks In Gardens and Parks, Visiting Her Mother's Grave Weekly (AS Only)
Relatives: Father
Mother (Deceased In AS)
Step Mother (AS Only)
Jihyun Kim/V (Older Brother)
Sister (Half/Step-Sister in AS)
Lucy (Adoptive Niece; V's AE "Forgive Ending" Only)
Personality and Background kind of, just a description I suppose: Myung may appear to be a happy-go-lucky and cheerful girl, but she really isn't as cheerful as you may think. She is usually a mixture of calm as well as bright, and is also very perceptive. She can easily read people based on a variety of things, mostly facial expressions and body language. She also isn't a half-bad singer. She is extremely close to her brother, V, and is also in turn fiercely protective of him- in AS, he's the only family she has left (she honestly just doesn't like her father and really doesn't care about him whatsoever) and due to that she does everything in her power to make sure he's ok and always tells him that "Please tell me anything and everything that's bothering you, and let me help you whenever you need it." Of course, V doesn't take her up on her offer, instead lying to her about everything going on with Rika (knowing she would likely kill Rika the moment she found out what she had done) and Saeran. Myung may be V's little sister, but she can be very big-sisterly, and often people have mistaken her for being his twin or older sister because of the way she acts. When V dies in SE, Myung is extremely devastated, depressed, and due to having witnessed it (if she is the MC) she would be traumatized due to it and would obtain a severe phobia of guns. In SE if she is the MC she would be very, VERY conflicted about Saeran, but if she is not, it is likely she would never know what truly happened to V in the SE and as stated above, she would flee Seoul and start a new life in the southern area of South Korea without telling anyone, and there is a 50/50 chance she would either live out the rest of her days there, return to Seoul eventually, or commit suicide because of her brother's death and the chaotic mess Rika created. She also would, before going missing, always violently lash ou at the sight of Rika, with Zen and Jumin having to restrain her many times because she was just so enraged and upset with Rika that she honestly just wanted her dead. The violent lashing out at Rika thing happens regardless whether she is the MC or not in the SE. She avoids Saeran as much as possible if she is the MC of the SE.
This was a long post, sorry oof 😅 — Submission
You know I love seeing and reading about MCs! So, it’s really not a bother to me to see it. I love how you drew her, it really captures the personality that you were making yesterday. It sounds like a really tragic tale, but hey, not everyone has a really happy story. The pinks in her outfit make me really happy. But, she does sound like she needs a hug.
And, clearly, for her brother to be there for her just as much as she should try to pull him out of the darkness.

ON THOUGHT : HOSPITAL PLAYLIST  1
Tumblr media
I always have soft spot for jo jung suk, even I don’t always watch his drama/film, but I follow his news, at least I know what his current project. At that time, maybe early December, i read on  dramabeans that shin woo hoo pdnim will make a new show about medical drama and one of it lead that has been casted is jo jung suk. When I read the news, I have mixed feeling about it, shin pd is known as GENIUS  pd, I am also agreeing that fact, his past work is wondefull but I’m still traumatized by love line in 1988, (cry and hug for jungpal!), except for loveline reply 1988 is excellent as drama. Nevertheless, Jo jung suk and shin pd are more than enough to keep this drama under my radar.
Early march, I just finished romantic dr kim season 2, I didn’t like as much as first season, I watch only for almighty han su kyu. Damn! That man is awesome and terryfying! After dr kim ended, I’m still in mood for medical drama, so I check on Netflix (at time I didn’t know that hospital playlist has been aired). I found hospital playist in the front of Netflix, I said to myself lets check it out first episode, if it’s turn out good, then I will be continue watching.
Episode 1.
First half of first episode feel disjointed and confusing as hell, there too many character  has been introduce, but then again, I remember this drama made by shin pd and lee woo jung writer when even side character has great story.  The story from each patient is great and heartwrenching but I didn’t care enough for them LoL, because I was mad curious to watch its lead together.
Tumblr media
99-gang is awesome! I love them already. Those conversation, banter and bickering is so natural, its believable that they were friend for 20 years. Even if airtime when those five together is short, but we can see the chemistry is already there. I craving for them! Yeah, I can watch sixteen episode their bickering and jamming.
Tumblr media
Jo jung suk as dad probably the most great unexecpted things happend in my kdrama journey, HAH. AND HIS SON UJU – is cute as botton, he should be protected all cost! The fact that he is dad put my mind and heart in ease ( and the strong reason to continue this drama), because there no way husband hunting plot will exist. Even if that plot is exist, he wont included in there, because he is a DAD. (long short story, I was too naïve to believe at this duo pd-writer LOL). Jo jung suk as death vender is the best enterance in all medical drama I have been watching. How can they create this scene? Hans down to writer.
Tumblr media
All this time, I only know jung kyung hoo as girls generation’s soo young boyfriend. I never watched his recent project, as long as I remember, I only watch him in I’m sorry I love you, which was  a decade year ago. He played as spoiled rich boy, he not that good in there. Lol. Honestly, I surprise watching him in hospital playlist, becase he so good (and handsome to the boot, he the most handsome). Before I watch hp, I thought jo jung suk will be has a tsundere character, but jung kyung hoo instead.
Tumblr media
Yoo yeun suk playing doctor again, but the character is 180 completely different with previous character. What I love about yoo yeeun suk as a actor is he never stop to improve his acting ability, boarden his acting range, tackling various role. Yoo Yeun suk got popular thanks to reply 94, but his drama after that –warm and cozy (he and  kang sora are main lead in there) failed miserably. Fortunately, after horrible warm and cozy, he choose better project, all his drama is succesfull rating and popularity wise.
Tumblr media
Kim Dae Myung character is the most uniqe one, he is forty years for a god sake, but he’s mama boy. He doesn’t want to working because he want playing with his mom, pft. He and yys are chaebol In there. Thanks to him, because he’s the one who iniciate to playing band again, so we can se 99 jamming.
Tumblr media
Chae song hwa is too good to be true, she is just perfect for human being. I’m lost word for her. Chae song hwa played effortlesty by joen mi do.  I never watch joen mi do in anything! At the first minute watch her? I’m said to myself, how could be this gem never founded by kdrama? After episode 1, I googled and search about her, turn out she is a veteran and award winning musical actor. How dare and sneaky this pd! Such an award winning actress played as a tone deaf?
Tumblr media
After all, despite the disjointed and shifthing scene too much, that I can’t grap the emotion. But this first episode is convinced me enough to continue this drama. Yeah, in this mess and stressful world, I need drama that can healing my mind. Blessed you shin pd and lee woo jung writernim!

Hwarang [Ep 12]
Into the thick of it...into the thick of it lol. Folks think Seon Woo is the king, and he's searching for the real king to kill him and he told Maek Jong that's what he will do if he finds him. Maek Jong out here hiding and not knowing what to do. Ah Ro is caught up in the middle of all of it.
I feel bad for Han Sung, he just wants to live life carefree and peacefully and have fun. However, he has all these expectations of him cuz he's the true bone of the family and his brother is only half however, his brother is better than him at everything.
Moo Myung just gonna straight up tell Ji Gong that he's gonna kill the king if he finds him. Bruh...you just telling everyone haha. I guess he has faith that Ji Gong has more loyalty to his son than to the kingdom. Moo Myung don't give a shit about the royals or the kingdom because it's done him wrong anyway...so I can't say I blame him. I actually agree with him mostly.
Man Queen Jisoo is a bitch, also why the hell is she still so lovesick and hung up on Ji Gong? Like woman you ain't had this man for decades let it go. Why you gotta threaten him with his daughter omg. Dude's acting was good up until this scene lol idk what he was really going for. Anyway, he's determined to kill Jisoo and her son.
Wi Hwa is smarter than I actually give him credit for. Haha, I wasn't sure if he would figure out that Maek Jong was actually the King, but he did.
Bruh Soo Ho is smitten with the Queen and he's about to go meet her because she called on him for something, oh dear lol. Lord, he done carried her and shit. I think that was her planning though, she knew he liked her haha, so she's testing him. She's actually quite smart.
I have a feeling that Moo Myung has a feeling that Maek Jong is the King. Anyway, Ah Ro is right lol she should break the princess haha. Ugh why is the Princess just as much of a bitch as her mother, like for what reason is she wanting to treat Ah Ro like a slave...man royalty who think they're better than everyone else is shitty.
Han Sung is burdened by all these expectations he doesn't want to do all this, poor baby. His brother is horrible, he isn't even worried about him, he looks like he even despises him. He doesn't even listen to what Han Sung is saying.
This Queen really wants her son to be her underling. "Cry out for help while holding your mother's hand and I'll rescue you from this". Bitch he doesn't want your help.
Oh No, Seon Woo is gonna get seriously hurt. I mean he aint gonna die cuz we got episodes left but still. Okay he didn't get hurt that bad.
Oh No, he asked Maek Jong if he's the King....

Review drama korea lagi hahaha
Menceritakan tentang seorang pangeran bernama Lee Yul, ibunya yg seorang Ratu digeser posisinya dan dibunuh oleh selir Park dan vice premier Kim Chaeon. Kini yg menjadi Ratu adalah selir Park tapi posisi crown prince tetap berada pada Lee Yul.
Ratu Park menjadi ibu tiri Lee Yul, dia ingin putranya Seowon yg menempati posisi Crown Prince.
Lee Yul menikahi So Hye, putri dari Kim Cha Eon, hingga suatu hari So Hye hamil!
Sayang Lee Yul tidak mengingat siapa dirinya, hahaha amnesia mode on lol
Wongdeuk membantu Hongshim sehingga mereka saling menyukai.

Awww that's so nice! I'm glad you had a good time :) I'm studying biotech. And I studied in Sweden for my exchange. It was such an amazing city and everyone was so nice~~ And it was the first time I experienced so little sunlight XDI feel you though haha. I'm kinda of in this weird limbo where I want a job just so I don't have to keep studying, but I also don't want that kind of responsibility. But good luck with your applications! What are you studying? Oh and I'm from the U.S-- hi, neighbor!
I did see his long teaser! God it’s so aesthetic. I’m kinda busy right now so I haven’t been as involved in his comeback as I was with the group comeback but I would’ve giffed every second of it if I could lol. And every song seems like a jam! Sentimental definitely has a really nice beat. I also like Stay, but I can also see myself adding attraction to my bubbly Infinite playlist.
I also hope it’s a nice promotion! I hope short promotions aren’t a new woollim thing (even tho it’s been that way for a while). I know they probably just rushed Tell Me since they’ve kept us waiting. But Woohyun told fans to prepare to be blessed so maybe all these promotions now will mean something big for the second half of the year? Lol at least I hope. And I got into Infinite from watching running man! My roommate studied abroad in Korea and showed me the show when she came back
It was the Summer Idol Competition one. I thought just the combo of cool L and hamster Gyu was hilarious. And I heard destiny in the background so I looked into it and got hooked on the group. I ended up liking Woohyun a lot because of his voice. And as I got to know him I realized what a marshmellow he is. I used to think he talked too much at first cuz I wanted to learn about Gyu and Myung, but he grew on me haha. Who was your original bias group??
LOL I’m sorry for sending so many in. But I like seeing your long answers. Worry not, I’m also really awkward. Ahhh I feel like I haven’t been to Asia much in general. My family is from Taiwan. So I want to go around everywhere and Singapore is definitely high on my list haha. The food looks amazing
There def were a lot of plot holes and a lot of “but….why” moments but I somehow still really liked it lol. I recently realized I like things comic book/super hero style things? Haha it’s weird, I didn’t expect to like that sort of thing. I’ll add those dramas to my list for when I have a break and need to watch something. I try not to commit to dramas during the school year since I usually end up binging them all night.
Hehe…I feel bad asking more questions after all that, but what are your favorite concepts/songs?
You’re a fellow science student! What’s biotech exactly? And what do you hope to do when you graduate? My mother actually told me to look into biotech, but my Genetics prof made it sound like it was all about DNA coding and such, which I wasn’t interested in.
I studied Health Science in undergrad… Not what I expected as it was all about policy and not really science based. I’m applying to med schools! But my chances are slim… I didn’t do so well in my last year >_
Where in the States are you from? I’m from Ontario… Near Toronto. I guess I’m kinda used to sunlight deprivation, but it’s definitely not as drastic as it would have been in Sweden! Were you in Stockholm? Did you only stay for one semester? And did you have the chance to travel around Europe?
Have you been to Taiwan? Do you have family in the States or are they largely still in Taiwan? Also, I’m wondering, do you have any siblings?
Isn’t being asked where you’re from such a weird question? I moved from Singapore when I was 7, so I hardly know anything about the culture, but I still consider myself Singaporean. Plus, most people generally mean ethnically when they ask that question, and for me that’s India, but I don’t consider myself Indian at all… I tend to give very convoluted answers that try to fit all 3 countries in ^^;
Have you seen the MV/listened to the album yet? I really love Nell, so when I heard Kim Jong Wan was helping to produce the entire album I was super excited (plus it’s cute since Sunggyu’s such a big fan of his). I really liked Attraction and True Love, but I think my favourite off the album is City of Angels.
I totally get what you mean about being too busy to be really involved in the comebacks… But for me it’s more I’m too lazy/tired than busy. I keep thinking I’ll gif/edit, but never do. It’s quite terrible. How long have you been making gifs for?
Was Infinite the first KPop group you listened to? Are they the first you were really a fan of? Destiny was such an epic song and I totally get how it hooked you. It was such a fierce song. I can’t remember Sunggyu and Myungsoo in that episode of Running Man… I remember more the Winter Olympics one (unless I’m remember wrong and we’re talking about the same episode). I love Running Man, but I preferred it more in the beginning episodes because I loved the nametag chase and they rarely do that anymore. If you haven’t already, you should watch the first ~100 episodes (with Song Joong Ki), they’re seriously hilarious.
My first bias group was MBLAQ… It’s so sad they disbanded. Again, I loved them because they were such dorks and their variety shows were hilarious as well. If you want to watch something for laughs, watch MBLAQ Goes To School… It’s too funny. Have you seen all of Infinite’s variety shows? I haven’t seen their last couple, but Sesame Player will always be my favourite. If you’ve seen Sesame Player, what was your favourite part? Mine were the pranks.
If a drama is really good the urge to binge is so strong! That’s why I like watching currently airing dramas, I’m forced to wait ^^ If you like light hearted dramas, I think you’ll like Suspicious Partner. The main couple is adorable like in SWDBS (also, I’m totally biased toward Ji Chang Wook… Hence the icon…).
Your last question… Is that specifically in regards to Infinite? That’s kind of tough… I actually kind of got out of touch with KPop while I was in university, well with music in general, so I actually haven’t heard many of Infinite’s new songs. But I really love Tell Me… Sunggyu’s voice and Dongwoo and the dance and the outfits… Gosh, all of it slayed me. So I guess that’s you’re answer? What about you, what is your favourite concept/song or Infinite’s?
On another note… What genre of English music do you like? I love Alt Rock/Grunge and I tend to stay away from R&B/Hip Hop.
(Also… Don’t feel bad about sending so many messages! I love reading them and as you can see, I’m a rambly person so the more I have to respond to, the less I feel like I’m being irrelevant ^^)

How Rare & Beautiful: Chapter 6 - A FFXV OC Fanfic
New chapter out on time, go me! Thank you to those who favourited/followed the story. We get to see portions of the anime here, and Soo-Min talks to a rock lol. So the song that I listened to while writing this was "the crystal chamber" by James Newton Howard for the movie Atlantis, which I adore. Anything in Bold Italics is astral speech. POSTED: 05.19.17 EDITED: 12.19.17 WORD COUNT: 3,130 Master List Previous Chapter
The Crystal Chamber - James Newton Howard
We had spent all day by the water, Noctis fishing under the supervision of some members of the Crownsguard, while I collected shells with the nanny who accompanied us. But the day's mood had been a bit lackluster due to the absence of Noctis' father.
Noctis and I sat side by side in the car the following evening, tired from our day at the coast. I leaned against the car door, tucking my feet up beside me as I dozed, the quiet rumble of the engine lulling me to sleep.
In my half awake state, I could hear Noctis speaking with the nanny, Lyssa.
"The fireflies were so pretty. Shoulda brought a bottle…" the prince muttered tiredly, leaning against the woman in exhaustion.
Lyssa smiled before replying, "Your father will be happy to hear about your day, Prince Noctis. It's such a pity he couldn't make it today."
I was able to see the dark haired boy tense at the mention of his father not being able to join us for the day, offering a stiff rebuttal of "He doesn't care."
I frowned at my friend, opening my eyes before saying, "You know that's not true, your father loves you." and slumping down further into my seat while the prince narrowed his tired eyes at me.
The car was filled with silence for a time, allowing Noctis and I to fall into a light sleep.
However we were suddenly awoken by an explosion outside the car. Startled out of my slumber, I quickly sat upright, straining to see what was happening outside. The driver quickly pulled the car over, the third car stopping behind us as we watched the lead car be engulfed by flames and explode.
Noctis and I leaned towards the window as the fire continued to burn, Lyssa trying to pull us close to her side in shock.
One of the Crownsguard in the car unbuckled his seatbelt as he announced he was going to have a look around to see why the car had gone up in flames, only to be stopped by the driver. "Wait." the guard stated, straining his eyes to look through the smoke. I followed their gazes, peering into the smoke and catching some movement. And whatever it was, it was pretty big.
A large serpent-like form slithered across the ground, the front of the creature rising from behind the burning wreckage. It resembled a woman somewhat, the skin of it a pale blue, and all six arms were wielding a sword, the fire serving to make the thing appear more terrifying.
"A daemon?!" one of the guards stated in shock. He whipped around in his seat to face us, giving orders to Lyssa. "Protect the prince and Soo-Min!"
That was all he could say before the daemon's swords were piercing the body of the car, taking out the passenger side window and windshield, brutally killing both guards. Noctis and I screamed at the top of our lungs, Lyssa fumbling with the door beside me before herding us outside.
We ran as fast as we could, Lyssa shielding our backs as we fled from the daemon, the car we had just been in moments ago exploding into flames. I grasped Noctis' hand tightly, panting for breath as Lyssa pushed us forward, the distant growling and hissing of the daemon growing closer by the second.
All too soon, the burn of running was replaced by the searing hot pain of the daemon's blades as they cut through us. Lyssa gave a short cry of agony before collapsing to the ground, her dead weight dragging down the prince and I.
My thighs felt as if they were burning as hot as the cars behind us, my blood soaking through the skirt of my sundress and staining the grey fabric black. I cried silent tears of pain as shock set in, Lyssa's blood pooling beneath her dead body and spreading under the prince and I.
I could see Noctis in my peripheral vision, shifting his arm as he took in the prone form of his deceased nanny before looking upwards in terror. Moving my head slightly, I could see the daemon staring at us from a few feet away, snarling and raising its blades menacingly. My eyes widened in fear, my hand grasping my friend's tightly as we looked back the monster that we were certain was going to kill us.
Out of nowhere blades of light slashed at the daemon, directing the creature's attention away from us. The monster bellowed in rage, screaming at her attacker. Noctis and Lyssa's body was obscuring my vision of who had come to rescue us, but I was able to pick up on the shouting of orders from members of the Crownsguard as they attacked the daemon.
Some of the guards managed to remove Noctis and I from Lyssa's dead body, immediately looking over our injuries. I let out a scream of pain as a guard tied a bandage across the cut on my upper thigh, the tears streaming down my cheeks a stark contrast to Noctis' unresponsive form as he stared off to the side while he was being treated.
The world became hazy eventually, the pain becoming too much and forcing me to fall unconscious as the king called Noctis' name desperately.
When I came to, I found myself within one of the citadel guest chambers; Myung-Hee was face down at the foot of the bed as she slept in a kneeling position on the ground, while Aetius is seated in a chair at my side. My father carefully grasps my hand as I wake, moving from the chair to sit beside me on the bed.
"Soo-Min… I'm so glad you're alright, sweetheart. Your mother and I have been worried sick about you…" he whispered to me, careful to not wake up my mother. I took in the changes to his face—the worry lines that had appeared on his forehead, his cheeks looked more hollow than I remembered and there were shadows beneath his eyes.
"What happened… What happened with the daemon?" I questioned, my voice hoarse from disuse. My father looked at me with tearful eyes and caressed my cheek while he considered his answer.
"King Regis took care of it. The daemon won't be able to hurt you anymore. You're safe"
I nodded lightly, glancing around the room before clearing my throat to ask my next question. "What did the daemon do to me? What did it do to Noctis? There was so much blood and pain, I…" I closed my eyes tightly, my breath hitching as the fear from before hit me like a tidal wave. Aetius immediately began trying to soothe me and fend off my tears, kissing my forehead and cradling my hands in his much larger ones.
"You're going to be fine, the end of the daemon's blades caught the backs of your thighs. The doctor thinks it will heal in less than a month, especially since your body managed to reject the Star Scourge so quickly. After a bit of bed rest and physical therapy, all that'll be left of all this is a scar…" my father assured me, wiping away some of my tears that had fallen free.
"And Noctis?" I pressed, worrying over my friend and his health. I watched my father's face fall, his green eyes looking away from my chocolate brown ones.
"The prince fell into a coma. His spine was severed by the daemon's blades, and he has been infected with the scourge. The doctors operated on him to repair the damage as best they could, but even if he manages to fend off the scourge, the prince may never walk again, Soo-Min… His fate is in the hands of the gods now." Aetius told me with a heavy sigh, dragging his thumb over the top of my hand in soothing circles.
I stared up at the ceiling, my vision blurring as my eyes filled with tears. A lump began to build up in my throat, my refusal to let my sobs free while tears slid down the sides of my face. I swallowed in order to clear my throat and hold back my sorrow.
"Can I have a moment alone please? And maybe could I have some food?" I requested, wanting some time alone to wallow in grief. My father only nodded before rising from my bed and silently leaving the room.
I cried in silence, unsure of what to do now that my only friend lay on the brink of life and death. I didn't want him to die, I wanted him to live a full life brimming with love and happiness. I wanted him to just live without all this political bullshit surrounding him constantly, but that's something I couldn't change. I thought on my father's words, that Noctis' life was in the hands of the gods, and it was up to them if the scourge was to claim him or pass. And in my last life, if you wanted something from a god, you prayed to them.
Swinging my legs out from under the covers, I gingerly began to lower myself onto the floor, clinging to the bedside table for support. A dull ache appeared in my thighs, forcing me to bite back groans of discomfort as I used the walls and furniture to guide me to the doors of my room. I stuck my head out into the hall before shakily stepping into the empty corridor, ignoring the burning of my thighs. I pushed myself to the wall next to the door, pausing to rest and figure out where the crystal was; if I was going to be praying to the gods, I was going to make sure they could damn well hear me.
I could feel the power of the crystal radiating from the center of the citadel, burning as bright as the sun, while the king and Noctis were candles in the night. I travelled the silent halls slowly, keeping to the walls and shadows to hide myself when a servant would pass by. My journey put strain on my thighs, the burn eventually becoming an inferno of pain that had me biting my lip in order to contain my cries.
The stairs leading up to the room where the crystal was kept was most likely the worst part of the whole thing. I used the guardrail to heave my body up the stairs, clinging to it for dear life when my legs needed a rest. Upon reaching the top, I peered around the corner, watching the guard patrol walk past the chamber doors and turn the corner.
I moved as swiftly as my exhausted legs could carry me, pulling on the door handle and slipping inside the chamber.
The dark room hummed with power from the crystal, pulsing gently as it projected the wall around Insomnia. I knelt on the ground in front of the suspended geode, letting its eerie light reflect onto me while began to pray.
"You are not of the Caelum line, mortal. What is your purpose for addressing the gods?" demanded a voice that screamed of power beyond imagining.
Despite reading in the Cosmogony about the astrals physically existing in various locations on Eos, I didn't expect any of them to answer my prayers personally or to address me. I cleared my throat before speaking, my voice like sandpaper on wood to my ears.
"Soo-Min, of the Han-Farron family. I come to beg the gods for mercy on behalf of the prince, Noctis." There was silence for a heartbeat following my reply before the voice was speaking to me once more.
"You are not who you claim to be, your soul bears no resemblance to those of this star. And yet, you willingly reveal yourself to the gods and pray to us for the return of the Chosen King."
I winced in pain as the voice pounded on my head with a force stronger than a migraine, tears welling in my eyes. I looked up from my lap only to come face to face with what could only be the Draconian, Bahamut. The world around me faded into nothingness as I stared up into the inhumanly blue eyes of the astral, letting my tears fall freely.
"I would do anything for Noctis, he's my only friend in this world. So do what you want with my soul; purge it from this world or keep it as a souvenir, I don't care. Just please, answer my prayer and return him to his father." I pleaded, begging the unmoving god.
"Let judgement be passed upon your soul, so it may be known if your presence is harmful to this star and worthy of the astrals' benevolence." Bahamut decreed, his armoured hand pulling me closer to his face so that his eyes could inspect my very being.
It was invasive, the god analyzing everything I had done in my past life up until that moment, determining whether my intentions were evil based on my character and actions. What was seventeen years of memories took only mere minutes to sift through before the Draconian retreated to pass his judgement.
"Your soul is pure and bears no ill will towards this realm and its people. It is also incorruptible, as the perverse magic of the scourge cannot taint you due to its foreign nature." the god stated, remaining impassive and cold towards me. I became hopeful at this admission, looking up to the astral pleadingly.
"Will you return Noctis then, and return him to us?" I asked, hope flooding my voice, almost certain that the god would fulfill my request.
"Such a thing is not within my power, the scourge has the King of Kings shackled within his mind. However, I can grant you the gift needed to guide him back to the light, at a price." the Draconian stated, drawing me away from his face.
"I already told you, I would do anything for Noctis. He's my best friend." I replied certainly, my eyes never straying from the astral's face.
"So be it. You will be able to enter the Chosen King's mind, and free him from the scourge, but at a price. As long as he lives, you must guide the King of Kings, and bear witness to the future unfolding before you and you alone. Unable to warn them of what comes, you must ensure that the prophecy is fulfilled when the time comes to pass. This is your duty as the Seer. Now go, see your prayer and duty fulfilled." Bahamut announced, releasing me from his phantom grasp and bestowing his divine blessing. The rush of magic that forced its way into my body felt like being punched in the gut by a boxer, throwing me back into the chamber that contained the crystal.
However, I was not returned to my body; I continued to exist outside of myself, a projection of who I once was. I had been returned to my past appearance, although my form was opaque and ever shifting, never solid as a normal human would be. My school uniform was present once more, no doubt making me appear as I did the day I died.
I collected my unconscious physical form, and strode out of the chamber. I walked through the halls of the citadel, passing by the servants and Crownsguard without care, for they could not see me if I did not want them to. I returned my body to my temporary chambers, thankful that my father had yet to return, before moving on.
I could sense the magic rolling off the king and Noctis from across the citadel, the flickering of Noctis' waning strength and power drawing me to the boy. I entered Noctis' chambers soundlessly, coming to observe my friend in his forced slumber. At his bedside sat the hollow-faced and weary king, his brow furrowed as he watched over his son.
The pain engraved on the king's face was unbearable, his desperation made known by the small figurine set on the bedside table—the familiar shape of Carbuncle drawing a small smile to my face.
I willed myself to be seen, speaking directly to the king so that my presence would be known.
"Choosing Carbuncle to watch over Noctis' dreams is a wise decision, your Majesty." I observed quietly, hoping that my sudden appearance would not startle the king too greatly. The man's head whipped towards me at an intense speed, tensing in preparation to protect his vulnerable son. I didn't move from my spot at the foot of the boy's bed, making myself calm and unfearful of the man before me.
"If you've come to take my son from me, reaper, you're mistaken. The afterlife won't be gaining his soul just yet." the king warned me, the threat apparent in his voice, making me smile at his devotion.
"I can assure you, King Regis, I am not here to lead your son to the afterlife. But may I inquire what gave you that impression?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"You have the type of head wound that would kill a person, no matter how healed it appears. And the blood staining your collar and face is not subtracting from the grim appearance…" the king described to me, as I wasn't aware that the wound that had sent me here had been present.
"Fair enough… But I am not a reaper, your Majesty."
"Then what are you?" the man questioned, still not trusting me completely. I considered my answer carefully, not wanting to give away too much about my identity.
"I'm a Seer. I've been sent to make sure the prince lives so that fate may continue to run its course. You have no need to fear me, I will guide Noctis back to the light." I offered Regis, willing him to see the honesty in my brown eyes. The king stared for a few moments, observing my form before heaving a tired sigh.
"If the astrals sent you, then do what you must to save my son." he relented, allowing me to approach the boy as he collapsed into his chair.
"I promise, I will return him to you, and continue to watch over him after this, your Majesty." I assured the weary king, receiving a tired nod before proceeding.
I sat on the boy's left side, leaning over him to observe the pained and exhausted face of my only friend. Phantom tears began to well in my eyes before I was able to blink them away, falling from my translucent cheeks to land on his porcelain face. I pressed my lips to the hair hiding his forehead, allowing myself to be swallowed up by the prince's dream world.
