Water Genasi Rogue - D&D Character Commission
This one took a while to finish - I got the majority of the work done before the holidays, but then I had some medical stuff come up and I wasn't able to finish it until the last few weeks - but I'm super happy with how it came out!
The character is a Water Genasi Rogue who's super bubbly and cheerful. The client included the lobster crossbow and boots as specific items she carries - I was a little scared of the Lobster Crossbow at first, but I think it turned out really well!
I always love getting to draw D&D or other Tabletop characters - there's something about bringing a character to life who's never been seen before that's a special little treat.

The bouncing block of slime is capable of copying the equipment of its enemies, the different things they can copy are: weapons (not only applying on hit effects but also enchantments), shields (being able to block projectile weapons like bows and crossbows), and totems to prevent their own death.
Their goo is also known to be able to be used to copy a piece of equipment to the last detail regardless of what material or enchantments it has.
It's ability seems to be an evolved version of that of a mimic octopus, the mimic octopus would copy the behavior and looks of other animals for both hunting and self defense. But it seems the mimic cube can copy other materials to the very last details, including pieces of equipment.

These little creatures have incredible abilities, including but not limited to being able to smell and taste the water with their "nose" to hunt their prey, their claws are also a unique barb that allows them to hunt for fish.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE ESCALATE THIS MATTER TO UPPER MANAGEMENT ->
They won't stop growing and won't stop molting throughout with their life, it is considered that they could live forever, if it wasn't bc of the energy needed to molt that they eventually (at 100 years,) won't have
They also can come in different colors, depending on amount and distribution of pigments, being able to be other colors, including: orange, blue, yellow, white, black, and some with special names, like the split halloween colored (black and red) red-blue split colored and cotton candy (pinkish white)

A once believed extinct species, these flying creatures will attack any player that hits it, biting back with its protocesis, it also uses it to hunt its main pray, the cosmic cod, which can be used to tame them.
While they will not protect their owner in a fight, they serve a different purpose to exploration, whenever their owner is about to fall to the void, the cosmaw will run for it and try to catch it so it doesn't fall into said void.
"Cosmic Cod are fish that can be found in the void between end islands. [...] They float through the ether of The End in decently-sized schools. If one fish in the school is attacked; the entire school of fish will attempt to teleport away as soon as possible. [...] Cosmic Cod can also be caught in an empty bucket."

Merfolk of Atlantica: the Seahorse Tournament
Don't let the name fool you. The Seahorse Tournament is not limited to seahorses, but involves all kinds of sea critters being degraded for the amusement of their mer-rulers.
We here learn that not only are some seahorses designated silent beasts of burden, but select fish and eels are forced to act as appliances like circus hoops and cross-bows.
It's a living!
This once again hints at Atlantica's dystopia caste system. Merfolk are naturally on top. Second below them are selected lucky sea creatures like Sebastian, Flounder, the announcer seahorse, and Crab Louie, who get to wear hats and riffled collars abd talk
. Next, silent dolphins and giant seahorses, who must pull the merfolk's clam carriages or hoist their mer-bums across the Atlantic. Below them, the lobster hair-shears, flounder crossbows, and eel hula hoops. And at the very bottom, the clams assigned to bra duty.
Seafood for thought.

Meet the Mantidactilis, an aggressive monster residing in the Innerworld! These beasts are inspired by mantis shrimp and lobsters, combining their elements into a singular formidable force! Mantidactilis have large, powerful pincers capable of delivering a force of 1000PSI. That's just under the bite force of a tiger!
Mantidactilis are scavengers, preferring to save their energy for fighting off other threats. They'll eat any sort of carrion they can find, but will occasionally go for living prey if need be. They shred up meat into bite sized portions with their pincers.
The antennae protruding from their face serve as a movement radar, able to detect vibrations within a 20 foot radius. Their actual eyesight, however, is rather poor and unreliable. This makes crossbows the most reliable weapon for hunting Mantidactilis, as keeping your distance from them will be crucial in surviving.
Their greatest weak point is their undersides, the pink flesh revealed underneath is edible and eaten on special occasions in Krill culture. It tastes similarly to lobster, with a texture akin to steak.

Surprise you get a P4 au since I haven't gotten an ask for that. Apologies, if you were hoping for Yusuke
Anyways. I'm going to talk about my first P4 arcana swap, known as the Lovers Naoto au
The end of this will have a list of the Arcana incase things aren't clear
Kanji Tatsumi has been living with his older brother since his dad died and mom entered assisted living, but when his brother has to go overseas for a year for his job, Kanji is sent to live in their old hometown with an old family friend
Daidara isn't bothered having Kanji around, as long as he doesn't act out. He doesn't mind what he does, though when the kid shows interest in crafting, although with fabric, he's happy to spend the odd night teaching him about the value his labour and love places in his products
He's only a first year, and ends up sitting beside this bored girl with pigtails. When he compliments her nails and asks if she did them herself, well, they click. She's used to just being hit on, and he's happy to have a friend who, gets him. They walk home together, though they pause when they see police tape
Two boys are walking home the same way, one tries to ask Rise out again, and fails. The other apologizes, introduces himself as Yu Narukami, and the other as Yosuke Hanamura. Yu's uncle shooes them all away, and Yosuke mutters about having to go play manager for the night
A few days go by, and a third year dies. Apparently, Saki Konishi worked with Yosuke. Yu gets worried. Kanji's hand goes through a TV, and Rise and Yu watch him try to punch a TV in Junes
They all fall through.
They wander around, find a haunting room, and when they make their way back to the start, a Bear. Teddie let's them leave, and they don't exactly plan to go back
Only, Rise insists they do. They find a glass version of her in there, who talks about how she despises how they look and talk about her. That she wants to run away and be nobody
Kanji defeats a monster, and Rise gets her Persona too. He hugs her tightly, his chair and her crossbow tossed aside for a moment
Yosuke goes missing.
On TV the night before, Kanji sees him. He's dressed like a king almost, talks about how for once, everyone's going to see him and do what he wants!
So they go back into the TV. Yu runs off ahead, and when they catch up with him, his shadow is there, spouting that deep down, Yosuke disgusts him. How he hates the way he talks about their classmates, and how he keeps him around to look Better
Yu admits, after, that it's partially true. But he doesn't fully hate him, cause he's been in love with his best friend for a few years. Kanji and Rise pat his shoulders
They do save Yosuke, who laments not being saved by a beautiful girl. Yu volunteers to carry him home. Neither talk about how Yu interrupted the shadow of his best friend to shout about how he cared how Yosuke felt, he'd willingly give up his nights to help if needed
Things are normal for a little while.
Kanji makes some friends. Naoki Konishi, who skips school sometimes. Yumi Ozawa, who barges into the Home Ec club to demand they help the Drama club with costumes. Yu's cousin Nanako, who loves the dolls he makes. Ai Ebihara, who's lost and doesn't know who she really is. Kou Ichijo, a second year who doesn't understand why reading is so hard. Daisuke Nagase, who wants to be a good leader.
He works at the hospital where his dad died. An old lady talks to him about her life, and a nurse is, weird.
Yu and Yosuke mention a classmate of theirs that they're worried for. Yukiko Amagi was on the news for getting into a fight with some news crew trying to get footage of the "haunted" Amagi Inn.
Yukiko appears on TV. She's, in a white dress. Calls herself the ghost of the Inn, daring any "suitors" to end her grief and arrive for their Wedding
Before she disappeared, they saw her talk to a girl none of them knew. They didn't hear the conversation, but Yukiko yelled at them and they ran
They save her. She tags along for the investigation
Then, Rise shows up to homeroom one morning and freaks out. Her favourite idol group, ROYAL, is taking a break. And her favourite member, Prince, the sole boy, is coming to Inaba
She drags the boys and Yukiko to the bookstore in the shopping district to try to see if they can meet him, and they barely get a moment to chat with a quiet, well mannered Naoto Shirogane. He looks tired, worn down.
The girl that spoke to Yukiko is outside talking to the cops. Chie Satonaka, a young action movie star, who used to live in Inaba. Here to study how the cops handle the case for her next role
Naoto goes missing, appears on TV. He's dressed in the outfits his female counterparts wear on stage, and it's jarring to look at. He invites the viewers to stick around to learn the truth behind their so-called "Prince"
So the gang goes to save him, but they need more clues. His fellow idols appear on day 2, and offer little bits about him. One stays behind, and softly admits that Naoto's been struggling with his appearance and identity for a while. The idol, Knight, begs them to find him
And they do. Shadow Naoto outs him as trans, and once defeated, Naoto shakily tells them about how his break is because a camera was found in the girl's change rooms. His agency holds his transition hostage in his contract. He fears returning to the stage as is
More plot shit happens. You know the drill. Then, Chie tries to talk to them, and Yukiko kinda, blows her off. Tells her this is real to them, not some, role
Chie does an interview. Goes missing. Her shadow is dressed like a kung fu hero, calls herself a fraud
It's revealed the reason she came home was because she met her idol, who called her some nasty names. Said she was making a mockery of martial arts. She remembered being a kid and promising to be Yukiko's knight, and how as kids they wanted to get married one day
The timing was all wrong, and she softly confesses that she knows her idol was right. She's, nothing, really. But, she wants to help them find the killer. So she can actually do something

I love this strange person, they look so cool, and I want more
hi! sorry this took so long, i wanted to draw some portraits real fast so you could put face to name. gonna be introducing the main characters and one important unseen character
steph- the main character and the one i've already posted art for
steph is the leader of the group, he's the one who's overseeing everything and is deciding which direction to go, he's at the front of all the missions and combat although he is not the only one there.
he just tries to not let other people get hurt if he can help it. he fights with modified fireworks, he usually shoots them with a crossbow but has a canon attached to their get away vehicle (he also uses other things if the situation calls for it but usually that's what he uses).
he has a lot of trouble connecting with other people, he has very low self esteem and doesnt care if he lives or dies, this is one of the main reasons he throws himself into dangerous situations, sometimes setting up the situation himself. when he's around people he tries to be loud and fun.
steph is named after staphylococcal syndrome which is a type of infection that causes the skin to look scolded or like it was melted with a hot liquid, this is a reference to his burn scars which was caused by his skin melting
fun facts:
-steph is into more macabre horror and ecto like more realistic or just plain supernatural horror
-steph is very interested in experiences he knows he shouldnt be seeking, like the feeling of taking someone's life or taking his own
-steph is a performer and although his regular shows weren't too crazy he did a lot of underground shows with high stakes, the mouth at his stomach came from his mutation reacting to a fatal wound caused by a saw blade that broke loose. steph wasn't the same after experiencing that high.
-steph got a LOT of money from the underground shows
ecto- steph's older sister, she died in steph's backstory
ecto raised steph since they moved homes too often to get a genuine parental figure, neither knows why they were moving homes but just accepted it as a fact of their life. the dynamic of mother and child followed them as they got older as it was really the only form of connection they had for such a huge portion of their life, only ecto managed to branch out before being an adult.
ecto likes true crime and the supernatural (i added it as a pun on her name). she is confident and knows when to put her foot down, she had to grow up very quickly but still has a very stupid sense of humor.
ecto is named after Ectrodactyly which is a mutation in the hands and feet that causes the bones the grow in unnatural ways, also called lobster syndrome if you wanted a better mental picture of how that works. chose this name because it was he hands that grew into her throat and cut off the head and lungs as she was twisting around during her mutation

fun facts:
-ecto got steph into spooky stories and every halloween they watch horror movies together
-ecto is trans
-ecto doesn't mind being a mother figure for steph, she is just happy she was able to be there for him and they never drifted apart
-ecto knew a little bit before the actual mutation that she was gonna mutate and tried to get away from steph incase something terrible happened. however she failed and steph saw the whole thing
cotaro is like a father figure for steph, since he was dating ecto he naturally got to know steph although steph isnt that open with him. steph did save his life thought, rushing him to the lab after he started to mutate, if the mutation continued he would've cracked his spine and be completely immobile, eventually dying since he wouldn't have a way to take care of himself, since the main source of mutation is in the flesh with bones being able to mutate but barely fight back when being corrected, the only thing left of his mutation is a horn on the right side of his head (his right).
corey himself is rather chill and like video games, he cares deeply about his friends and family and isnt afraid to say it, he prefers not to talk about himself and usually keeps his problems to himself, he only ever talked about them to ecto, ever since he became a skeleton he's struggled with mortality, he's unsure of whether or not he's immortal or is going to start decaying any moment. usually switching between them based on his mood, when one thing upsets him usually everything else follows even if they aren't related. he also forgets to take care of this because of these feelings
his name comes from cotard syndrome which is when someone believes they are dead or dying,
fun facts:
-corey's favorite game series is legend of zelda
-he actually doesn't mind how he looks as a skeleton, though he does miss having hair
-he had brown hair as a human and typically just wore a blue hoodie
-he likes his new outfit, the only reason he didn't dress like that before was because he didn't wanna be made fun of, being a skeleton kinda erased that fear
-ecto was the one who asked him out and he nearly cried when she did
tero- steph's only friend and the scientist of the group
ehetero is a prodigy in his field and used to be the head scientist for a group that took on secret projects which often times were extremely dangerous and tedious, however he found this extremely boring and ran off to make his own lab where he could conduct his own experiments. getting funding from large companies and paying police to look the other way at the more unlawful parts.
tero's appearance isn't caused my mutations, they are the result of lab accidents and self experimentation. he has brain damage from toxic fumes and usually switches so rapidly between emotional extremes he can go from yelling about how he feels the world is basically dead to laughing about something he thought of in the same breath. also the emotions he shows with his body language and tone can be entirely different from what he's actually saying and meaning in rare situations. despite all of that he is still very smart and takes his job seriously.
he is pretty close with steph who reached out to him to request his help in finding a cure to the sudden mutations spreading around. tero took interest in steph's unique mutations and personality and they hit it off fairly well. steph feels comfortable to be open with tero in a way he isn't with anyone else since tero is objectively more unsual and sorta fucked up than steph is, so the fear of judgement isn't really present around tero.
tero is named after teratomas which is a type of tumor that grows teeth, can lead to teeth growing in places like the brain and can cause rows of teeth to form in the mouth like a shark, this is foreshadowing to his future mutations later in the story. (the picture shown is how he was before then)
fun facts:
-tero is very fond of fashion, hence why he wears his lab coat in an overly dramatic way, he also designed steph's costume
-tero has robot legs due to a lab accident
-tero gave himself brain damage resulting in the dramatic mood swings after breathing in toxic fumes while working
-the weird colors in his eyes and the ears are not the result of a mutation, he just experiments on himself for fun
-nobody likes playing scrabble with him

In this au, Millennial Tree and Sugar Swan are a couple! Their kids (from oldest to youngest) are Wind Archer, Whipped Cream, Croissant, Butter Pretzel and Hero
All are earth ponies, except for Wind Archer, who is a pegasus
Eventually, Croissant stops working for the TBD *cough* because of TK *cough* and instead works for Aloe
Clover is half-siren, and thus is able to use siren abilities. Though he doesn't need to feed off negative energy in order to maintain power
Truffle is never usually seen out in the city, she only ever seems to appear at events or around her friends
Lobster and Mocha are a sub-"clan" of hippocampi, they are unrelated to the hippogriffs, and as such do not turn into one when they emerge from the waters (nor do they require a pendant to do so)
Blackberry does not have a good relationship with her parents, neither does her brother Cinnamon
Rum, Sparkling and Blackberry's kid in this au, eventually grows up to be a jam maker
Only Blackberry, Sparkling, and Croissant have been to Ponyville before, all under different circumstances
Pastry is a pegasus, her crossbow is instead a collar that extends into wing armours when activated

OSRS is so satisfying in that whatever task you're up against, there's like a bunch of different ways to handle it.
I was given a Slayer task to slay 150 Greater Demons, which are 20 levels higher than I am. I could either go fishing for swordfish and lobster to take into battle and heal myself as I get worn down, which would level up my fishing and attack skills, or I could buy/craft enough runes to hide behind a barrier and spam magic projectiles on them - the latter option granting Runecrafting experience on top of magic experience.
The path I chose instead of either of those was to smith some adamant bolts - which are some of the better bolts in the game - and use a crossbow to safespot them.
The issue is that my fletching level isn't high enough to fletch adamant bolts. I could just buy the bolts, but at the same time the amount of bolts I want are a pretty penny and it'll benefit me more in the long run to level up my fletching.
So I've been making maple bows. I started by making 200 maple shortbows, and I levelled up to the point that I can make maple longbows.
The benefit to all this is that maple longbows sell for around 350 gold each on the Grand Exchange. And I'm making hundreds of them.
So in my quest to slay 150 Greater Demons, I've managed to stumble into a side-hustle that's making me hundreds of thousands of in-game gold while I level up one of my skills enough to make the weaponry I need to slay them.

we've met Knight-Captain Ord Firebeard! taure and sieron are doing healing, charlie and silje were fucking around with cards before ord showed up and charlie had to Try And Be Professional, which is always fun. charlie temporarily being the party representative bc shes very friendly and the other 2 people are socially awkward

commander is Niles Ryder (thats such a cool name wtf), there's a bunch of native arvusians that we're hanging out with and learning stuff abt! the camp vengeance guys arent really prepared for how fucked up arvus is so thats why theyre in such a bad state. we're helping out, but ryder is very much not like... not the right sort of commander for dealing with the wilderness of arvus.
meanwhile, charlie teaches silje to play go fish!

camp's sick because water's poisoned! specifically there's some sort of magical disease coming downriver from the aldani basin, so we need to go up there and check shit out. plus thorne & silje heard about "heaven's brazier", an eternally burning watchtower, when they took night shift.
