I'm thinking about coconuts in Runescape.
I now have four palm trees growing in OSRS, growing up to six coconuts at a time, at a rate of one coconut per 45 minutes. Each coconut is worth roughly 2,000 gold, making every full tree's yield worth around 12,000 gold. Circling around my four palm trees, assuming they're giving me a maximum yield of six coconuts, gives me a maximum profit of 48,000 coins.
So - assuming I just completely no-lifed Runescape and maximised my ability to collect coconuts, down to the second - what is the shortest amount of time for me to make one million gold off of coconuts?
Given that one coconut grows per tree every 45 minutes, for a maximum of six coconuts per tree, I would have to wait four and a half hours for an empty tree to fully replenish its coconut stock. I'm gonna fudge the collection time between trees and stick to the 4.5 hour figure, though it might take me around five minutes to cycle through all four trees.
To get one million gold, I would need roughly 21 combined crop yields of coconuts between my four palm trees.
One combined yield of coconuts is 48,000 gold. Two combined yields of coconuts is 96,000 gold.
Multiply that by ten. 96,000 gold becomes 960,000 gold, and then you just need one more yield to make up 1,008,000 gold.
And the same principle can be applied to the time you need to wait between full crop yields.
One yield of coconuts requires 4.5 hours of grow time. Two yields of coconuts require 9 hours of grow time.
Twenty one yields of coconuts require 94.5 hours of grow time. Which is just shy of four days straight.
So if I wanted to just no-life OSRS until I've made one million gold worth of coconuts, I would have to sign into Runescape every four and a half hours and harvest the four fruit trees, non-stop, for four days straight.

The Slayer reveal for Guilty Gear Strive was cool, but really there are only two characters that I am certifiably Insane about, and that's Bridget and A.B.A who are both in the game already. I've popped off and popped bottles for the two characters I wanted to see more than anything else, and everything going forward - like the season 4 DLC roster - is a bonus.

"you shouldn't be antisemetic because you're legitimising Israel when you do" no you shouldn't be antisemetic because it hurts Jews who deserve to not be hurt, like any other human being. you should care about not being antisemetic because it hurts people, and that should be enough for you. why isn't it enough for you?

So I went to my mum's place because her birthday is tomorrow and I had a present I wanted to give her. And while I was there I had a dig through some of the stuff I left behind, and I came across some stuff I was really happy to find.
The main reason I wanted to look through my stuff is because I wanted to bring Rage Racer home with me:
Tumblr media
Because fuck yeah, it's fucking Rage Racer
But I also found a pretty valuable game I had as a kid.
It doesn't have the booklet, but I do have a boxed version of Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime.
Tumblr media
I remember my mum asking me specifically if I wanted this one, and I fucking DID. This has been my only Dragon Quest-related media for years, not counting the digital Switch/mobile ports of Dragon Quest 1 and 2. I didn't pick it because I Knew In My Heart Of Hearts It Would Be Valuable, but because I wanted a fuckin Dragon Quest game.
I'm not interested in keeping it, because if I wanted to play it I'd get a 3DS and an R4 cart y'know. So I'm thinking of putting it up online to sell.
And there's actually another game I'm looking to offload. I found this at my place a few months ago, and while I'm not really interested in keeping it, it is a fucking secondhand MONSTER.
Mothers and fuckers of the jury - again, without the booklet - feast your eyes on my copy of Pokemon Platinum.
Tumblr media
I got this for my fifteenth birthday. I specifically pre-ordered this game, because I had Yellow, Crystal and Emerald before it. And it's definitely not mint, but it still has the pricing sticker on it from when I got it lmao
And despite pouring two hundred hours into it, I didn't really like it very much.
Like it's fine, and in hindsight the endgame was GOATed with the chateau you could customise and stuff, but it runs slower than Emerald and I just don't like Sinnoh as a region.
I might still be able to get $200 out of it, though. Two hundred buckaroos for a game I didn't really like, sans manual.

The logo of Farley Flavors' Fabulous Fast Food intentionally resembles a swastika
The Denton TV station engages in sensationalist television programming that relies on tenuous pop-psychology, tacky game shows with the associated bells and whistles, and programming that appeals to the most narrow, nuclear family-ass, white suburban man's man - giving him a platform for his dislike of immigrants and queer people, and letting him act as a model to further those qualities in the zeitgeist.
Farley Flavors himself aims to give America "the girl next door" - an all-american symbol of desire - by appealing to tradition while exploiting that figure's sexuality and using her to encourage avarice. His first lines in the movie are "why aren't they doing tomorrow's new dance moves the way they used to yesterday, and who draws a perfect circle any more?" - appeal to a mythical, golden tradition, and then say "it could be yours, and you won't have to do a thing to get it - just do what I say".
And meanwhile, the thing being promised - this ideal of the "girl next door", embodied by Janet - suffers, because this all-american glory-myth is false - it's just a way for Farley Flavors to pander to a receptive public to win them over and use their support to accrue personal power, political power and wealth. Janet suffers as Farley plays her as both a Madonna and a whore, because she is just a tool for him.
