Lloydski
Tumblr media
Lloydski is a DJ producer and man on the street from New York.  We humor ourselves about what we've got going on in our careers for 10 minutes but then we obviously spend the hour talking about his trip across the country to burning man in a hippy bus.  Highly recommending listening.

Here's what our "Tasters" thought.  Click the Names to find out more about them.

Zero : I never understood why people take out any sort of agression on the doorman.  It's not like it's their fault you're not on the list.  We always do our best to be nice with the gatekeepers of an event and it usually works out in our favor.  Tonight, my name was on the list but for some reason I had no extra guests under my name.  I kindly asked the doorman to check some other names that I had RSVPd under but strangely they weren't there ( I did RSVP on different emails all at the same time ) I kept calm though and just asked the doorman if there was anything else I could do about the situation.  He asked who I would be bringin and I pointed to my 2 cohorts -

                                             VirGIN:  Oh hai !
Tumblr media
                                             SWIRL: Sup.
Zero : The man cracked a smile, said not to worry and let us pass.  So just like that we were in without any confrontation or problems.  Sure I could have thrown a hissy fit but obviously this just fuels their fire.  And who would want to let anyone in once they're annoyed at you? We wouldn't.
VirGIN:  We arrived kind of late so the inside was already pretty packed.  The place looked like a small school cafeteria.  And it smelled sooooooo good.
Tumblr media
Zero : There was a Heineken event going on this evening for the unveiling of their new bottle.  If you looked closely you could see some engravings and new ridges covering the green glass.  It was cool but it wasn't really that noticeable to be honest.  Oh well.  At least they were giving away free beer !
Tumblr media
There was also a camera crew there asking everyone questions.  They even got me on camera and here's what they asked - In one word answers, please describe :
New York City
Heineken
Your ideal woman
I thought this was pretty funny as I'm terrible in front of the camera and I definitely gave complete sentences on all 3 questions.  They seemed to be pretty happy with my responses though.
Tumblr media
Sadly though, they said the video would not be going online and that it was to gain information.  I guess they're really trying to see the correlation between drinking and girls.
VirGIN:  Since we were late, all the seats were pretty much taken, even those at the bar.  The place isn't really that big as it's a food joint during the day I think.  I like the seating arrangements but we just had no where to sit.  Even the countertops were all occupied.
Tumblr media
I did really like the graffiti-esque designs adding color to the walls.  More b-boy-ish ones could be found downstairs.
Tumblr media
Soon the festivities moved to the basement however and we got to see where the real party was supposed to take place.  There was a separate line outside to get into the basement but if you simply went to the back of the restaurant, you could easily bypass this and just go straight down the stairs.  Not sure if this tactic would work on another day but it's a heads up for you.
Tumblr media
SWIRL:  And finally we got some music going on.  Unfortunately for me, it seemed to be mostly a hip hop based evening.  Ugh.... thankfully some of it was danceable but for the most party I was pretty much just swaying around.  They did have a stripper poles though so I was able to keep myself pretty occupied with that.
Tumblr media
VirGIN:  The basement dance den is not very big but it does have a nice cozy feel to it.  Like SWIRL mentioned, there are actually a bunch of stripper poles lining the left wall.  This was a fun distraction for us and I can see how others who were drinking and dancing might find themselves gravitating towards this erected support structure.
SWIRL:  After hanging out for a bit, lots of people seemed to be leaving and large chunks of the dance floor seemed a little barren.  The music was getting slightly better but it still wasn't for me.  Sure it was a Wednesday night so it's hard to gauge how many people would be packing into this place.
Tumblr media
Zero : I really liked the basement but we just weren't digging the music here.  Hopefully we can go on another night and really work those poles !
