Folder setup has never been more important than in Live2D 5.0
Your PSD folder hierarchy is now almost as important as the deformer hierarchy set up inside L2D.
Previously, I had my folders set up with bigger chunks and wiggle room. But now, for 5.0, it is much easier when rigging to set up your folders with more specifics in mind.
This is especially true for the Head and Face folders.
You want to make sure to have all the parts of your Vtuber Models Face cut up into separate folders like so:
[Eye_R]
[Eye_L]
[Nose]
[Mouth]
[Face]
[Ear_R] . . . and so on
Yeah, it can be pretty tedious. . .
Which is why I LOVE to prep things in advance!
If you want, you can use my pre-set Clip Studio Paint file too, it even comes with a perfectly placed symmetrical ruler! (And if you use CSP then you know how hard that ruler placement can be)
I also included a Live2D .com3 file that is set up in the same dimensions, has a ruler guide all set up, and comes preloaded with all the Parameters you could ever need!
Since I was really small, I've always wanted to bring my art to life, like cartoon-wise. But I'm not really a story teller or anything. I've always wanted to be a cartoonist/animator though.
I'd been streaming since I was like 14-15, 90% of the time without any sort of face cam. I think I started doing face cam for a really small amount of time, but the amount of prep I had to do to feel "ready" made me stop streaming a lot.
Then I started to see VTubers around and went holy shit that is exactly what I want, especially since I already have a mascot who's just... me.
And then I realized I absolutely couldn't afford to commission a model... lol.
Well, I thought the program wouldn't be TOO complicated to learn.
It was, I broke the model and someone had to direct me to like the live2D discord lol.
Either way, I got it working. And something about how I just got my art to... move like that was really cool. Like I absolutely love that I can just make it move. That I can BE my art. That I can just be the mascot that I try so hard to make the embodiment of myself and my artwork.
Hey yall! Yesterday I reopened my commission slots on Twitter + I wanted to put together a proper post for you guys with rigging samples [Pls excuse I’m a lil stuppy]
All of my prices are listed on my carrd!
Here are some samples of my rigging: 1 2 3
I also offer commissions for illustration and twitch assets! Feel free to DM me with any questions!
me before rigging a vtuber: aw man $200? that's probably reasonable but I don't have that kind of money :(
me, now having drawn and rigged the Same Fucking Model three times: two hundred dollars is not enough. you should be charging five thousand per parameter.
