I skip past Vanessa and Rae everytime but Lexi and Mal are adorable.
I'm on episode 3/4 but whe i don't like Vanessa I don't hate her. I just think she absolutely doesn't want to be married to anyone but does want to date around and explore the field. Vanessa wants fun and is still looking for what she wants. Which is okay but she should be honest about that and get cast on a different Netflix queer dating show. I can see why her and Xander ended up dating though because they do have things in common AND they also were eachothers younger fun love affair. Now they just want different things and I was at least glad to see Vanessa be open about fears of fomo in monogamous relationships. Rae thought that same spontaneity is what she wanted but I'm not sold it is.
Xander and Yoly are also seemingly sweet and genuine together and separately. I hope they both do find love no matter what happens in the future ultimatum choice.
I generally like everyone in this cast a lot. I'm happy for all the masc' in the cast and its super nice. Seeing Tiff made me go ooo someone who dresses like me.. Personally i do not like the whole Sam, Tiff, and Shylo situation because of how stand offish and unwilling to move Tiff is. The dog is only a placeholder for other feelings and things that Tiff is used to or dealing with. I'm trying to put to the side my own feelings about dogs in bed cause of my own allergies and culture. There needs to be more communicating and I'm glad Sam saw through some of that because its never just the dog.
Personally if I have a cat I love to heavens and my partner says can the cat not idk sit on the dinner table I'm not going to argue about the cat sitting on the table.
This show doesn't talk about careers and things but it does focus on the more surface hard parts of relationships. Things like communication, one on one, and even more. But I'm glad not all the people are faking who they are in their own homes. They are still being exactly and showing the other person their private in home faults. Which is good.

I'm wathcing this show and it's giving me so much second hand anxiety from my decade+ in hospitality that I wanna decompress by live posting about it! Buckle up!
Sydney going into the fridge for a second of alone time and a big sigh is another way-too-relatable moment. Been there, done that.
the bullying, the getting cut, the disrespect that gets in everybody's way... The only reason I'm sticking to this is because of the gif sets of people who I wanna choke with my own hands right now, being wholesome and nice in season 2.
But they sure be putting my girl Sydney through more crap than she deserves ((she doesn't deserve any!!!))
this scene is fantastic, because Carmen is being toxic as hell, without meaning to, I'm sure. He's being so soft and present and dialled in... compared to the chefs he knows. But it's way out of line considering how he acts in this foreign situation. Sydney is completely right, he's putting her in power in the morning and letting her down, without any actual powers to fire people if they cross a line, and without consequences for rancid behaviour.
They're different worlds, but he's not behaving like a business owner and he doesn't have his 'management's back'. In a way I'm feeling right now like he's delegating "braking in the crew" to Sydney.
OMG Sydney pushing back on his oversharing about Mikey being an addict as his excuse for letting her hang???
QUEEN SHIT!!!
She apologies and says she's sorry but ha-ha the message was delivered. Brilliant.
Episode 3 concludes with me as Sydney's newest and biggest stan.
