Big love for Little Rock
So much love for my friends in North Little Rock, Arkansas!
It was great to see everyone entering the first week of 2023 laughing. I was asked to do a one-hour show each night so it was a treat to have extra time with the audiences.
Loved sharing the stage with our host Cedrik “Doc” Whittaker and Bair, our feature. I hope we cross paths again very soon! Thank you to Brett for running a tight ship and for the amazing post-show conversation. Also, thank you to the local comics who came out to support this new comedy series! It was an honor to be its first headliner!
And a huge thanks to Adam and Sarah Farrell for the opportunity to return to The Joint Comedy Theater, which I think is one of the finest cabaret theatres in the country. Until next time!
Next stop: El Paso, Texas!

Other SUVs compromise on style or try to fit seven seats into a space only big enough for five, but the 2022 Mazda CX-5 doesn’t make those mistakes. Click our blog to learn more about the 2022 Mazda CX-5.

A rally at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock to protest the integration of the Little Rock High School. The photo was taken on August 20, 1959 -- nearly two years after the first nine black students had been enrolled --  by John T. Bledsoe, a staff photographer from U.S. News and World Report.  After failing to get integration delayed until January,1961, the Little Rock School Board closed all public schools for the year beginning in 1958. The whites blamed the blacks for the school closures, and hate crimes against blacks escalated during that year. In May ,1959, some of the segregationist school board members were replaced with more moderate members, and the still integrated schools began the 1959-60 school year on August 12, a few weeks earlier than usual.

718: Poe Tour and Other Ghost Walks
‘Tis the Season of Spookiness and we kick off the month with a visit to the gravesite of one of the true “Masters of the Macabre”, Edgar Allan Poe. While in Baltimore, Maryland, we stayed at the Lord Baltimore Hotel where Vince Wilson gave us a tour of the old (and purportedly haunted) hotel, after which we walked outside and down the street for a couple blocks to an old cemetery and underground catacombs. Along the way and while at the cemetery, Vince gave us some background about some of the “residents” of the graveyard.
Next we make a call to Paul Prater in Little Rock, Arkansas, who gives us some tips, suggestions and advice on how we can create a “Ghost Walk” in our own backyard.
The majority of the recording in the first part of this episode was made while on the tour given by Vince Wilson in Baltimore; however, due to some mysterious and unexplained reason, some of the audio disappeared during the first part of our tour. Hmm. Well, we made a phone call and Vince filled in the part of the tour at the Lord Baltimore that was missing. Later we contacted Paul Prater on a Zoom call and recorded the second portion both with audio and video. You can view the video on YouTube by Clicking Here. Black Student Fighting Back 1958
Johnny Gray, 15, punches a white student during a scuffle in Little Rock, Arkansas. Johnny and his sister, Mary (standing behind him), were en route to their segregated school when the two whites in the photo ordered them to get off the sidewalk.
