I sometimes think of the episode of the miracle of turning water into wine. Because what happens is: Jesus, his disciples, and his family are at a wedding. Mary, Jesus's mother, is implied to be taking care of catering with the other women, as one did. And the women and servants realize there's no more wine.
Like, for the Hebrews of the time and for many MENA cultures, hospitality is a core virtue. Not being able to properly throw a wedding because you ran out of food or wine was shameful, people would talk. So that was a serious pickle.
And Mary, who had been invited to the wedding, went to her Miracle Son and said "Jesus, they have no more wine."
Jesus was at a wedding party, with his friends no less. And catering was a feminine job. He had absolutely nothing to do with that issue, really. He knew what she wanted him to do - magically save the situation. But Jesus had not yet revealed his divine nature to the world, only his closest friends and family. And his reply basically goes "Mom, don't rope me in this mess, it's not the time yet."
But then Mary tells the servants to do whatever Jesus asks of them, and then Jesus starts asking the servants to prepare the water and then performs the miracle. He wasn't going to! But he did! Why??
Well all I can imagine is Mary using the innate motherly ability of glaring daggers at her son for not obeying her, because she did not raise a man to be callous with the unfortunate situation of a friend and she specifically asked him, her son, as his mother, to fix the situation.
So, I think Jesus performed his first public miracle before he had intended to because his mom made him do it and I think that's wonderful.

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.
