one more post while i am insane but i do think maybe Wanting to live should be ... enough to live. like can it just be all that is needed maybe. instead of [gestures vaguely at capitalistic society] all of that. a person should just Want to be alive and be allowed to live and given what they need to live. i dont want to have to beg and grovel for the ability to keep myself alive, i already did that (and continue to do that!) with my parents and now apparently i have to do that with the govmt and just... Everything.

MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures Mod Report (Rolling Skill, Additional Consequences to Drug Use, Drug Animation Props, Drug Consumption Animations, and Drug Reactions)
Another month has passed. Which means another mod report. This month, I have been working on features involving a Rolling Skill, Additional Consequences to Drug Use, Drug Animation Props, Drug Consumption Animations, and Drug Reactions. Which is what this report will go over.
[Rolling Skill]
-How To Roll Blunts and Joints
In order to Roll a Blunt, you will need Swisher Sweets and a baggy of any Cannabis strain.
Select the Swisher Sweets and select the interaction Roll Blunt
From there choose which Cannabis Strain Baggy you would like to roll
You will then receive a blunt of the Strain you rolled.
In order to Roll a Joint, you will need RAW Rolling Paper and a baggy of any Cannabis strain.
Select the RAW Rolling Paper and select the interaction Roll Joint
From there choose which Cannabis Strain Baggy you would like to roll
You will then receive a joint of the Strain you rolled.
-Bonuses
The Rolling Skill is used to Roll Blunts and Joints. This skill is a hidden skill with a maximum level of 5. You will receive bonuses with a higher Rolling Skill. with level 5, you will receive 3 joints or blunts when rolling once. with level 3-4, you will receive 2 joints or blunts when rolling once, and at level 1-2 you will receive 1 joint or blunt when rolling once.
[Additional Consequences Of Drug Use]
-Lowers Career Performance meter if you show up to work High
All careers, but Criminal will lower work performance when showing up high on a substance. Value of hit to work performance for each drug is tunable.

[Drug Consumption Animations]
All of the Drugs officially have Drug Consumption animations. This month we added Animations for MDMA, Xanax, Adderall, PainKillers, LSD, Trenbolone, testestorone Enanthate, Estrogen Blockers, Heroin, Cocaine, Meth, and all 6 Cannabis Strains. The sim I used to showcase these animations uses a height slider. So the animations are a bit off. However, if you don't use sliders like me, the animations will appear normal.

For MDMA you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.
-Xanax Animations
For Xanax you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.
-Adderall Animations
For Adderall you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.

For PainKillers you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.
-LSD Animations
For LSD you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.
-Trenbolone, Testestorone Enanthate, and Estrogen Blockers Animation

For Heroin you can consume it while standing, sitting, or sitting in a barstool.

For Cocaine you can consume with a Sink, Counter, or Dining Table.

And that is all I have to report on for this month. We went over the Rolling Skill, Additional Consequence of Drug Use, The Drug Animation Props we made this month, The Drug Reactions, and the Drug Consumption animations.
I'm happy that all of the drugs that will be included in the first release all have animations now. For the following month, there isn't anything else on my list to add for the first release. So I am officially on the Alpha testing phase of the mod. Which during the test I will aim to fix any bugs I happen to find and may implement new features if I believe it will be convenient during testing.
Additionally, regarding the Beta Testing phase. I decided to cancel it. I learned of a story regarding a CC Doll that was released long ago for TS3 and it somehow caused corruption on peoples games. My concern is that if the testing version leaks. Whoever puts it for download may add a virus to it to mess peoples games. Therefore I would rather not risk it. Apologies to all that volunteered. I will be testing it privately and with some friends at my side.
Since all that is left, is testing, writing a guide for the mod and waiting for the mods art piece I commissioned to finish. I estimate that the mod will be ready late spring. Unless I happen to find a huge gamebreaking bug that needs to be fixed.
Now I'm going to go back into hiding.

Hiss.
I want to say that I'm looking for work, but I'm always looking for work, and I don't want a ton of pointless advice. Everyone has the solution to all my problems until I explain why it isn't a viable solution at all, then people get resentful for "being picky" or "just not wanting a solution".
I was born disabled/chronically ill, therefore:
I could not finish high school, therefore:
I could not attend any colleges, therefore:
I have not been able to find work for over 20 years.
I don't have a license, nor reliable transportation.
I have a stutter that makes phone work impossible.
My family has all but given up because "I'm too lazy to try," and I used to be on disability (USA) but the accompanying health insurance didn't cover any of my care, which resulted in eventually being removed from disability for lack of medical records/proof. If I had remained on disability benefits, I still would have only received $400 a month to live on.
I've applied at various fast food places, but the computer systems see a 20+ year employment gap and my application gets immediately tossed out of the system. And nowadays, no, you cannot speak to a human.
"I am 36 years old, I have no money, no prospects, I'm already a burden to my parents. And I'm frightened,"
My options are to lie on applications, potentially getting caught and causing worse problems, or simply continuing with the soul crushing grind of 'content creating' as someone who isn't 135lbs, has DD boobs, and a perfect smile. And a budget to do thousand dollar photoshoots every week.
"You'll get lucky eventually," is not a viable career option - and I've been trying to get canadian citizenship for years so I can have access to MAiD, or 'medical assistance in dying', which feels like my only hope if you consider my dignity and quality of life.

Technically he's pretty well off after becoming the go-to merc guy that fixers call, but old habits die hard and he often forgets he could afford the bigger treats. He was also sickly when he was a kid due to his ganic lungs being bad and Night City's air being dogshit. But then he got himself synth lungs and was fit as a fiddle all the way until Johnny happened and now he's back in square 1. I once wrote a fic about his history with his cybernetics that doubles as a little snippet of him throughout the years !

>> was arrested multiple times and actually went to prison for a bit for some crimes he couldn't wiggle out of and had to pull in party favors and bribe the guards to hotfix the system and get himself out faster than he's supposed to serve. the minor crimes record stuck though.

His nice "everyone helped each other in the streets" story he told River was code for leeching off the soft-hearted joytoys and two-bit thieves who plays hot potato with children just like him. He was either abandoned in the hospital once he was born, or his parents were dumb teens who got themselves killed, or he was dropped off in the middle of a crowded street--the detail's kinda fuzzy and he doesn't bother to try and clear it up. His birth certificate most likely just listed some random generated name the hospital got before handing him to the nearest person willing to have him, so he never bothered to identify himself with his surname.

he quickly learned that his smaller stature gets him in tight places and if he could hack cameras and klep things without alerting any system in said places, people would pay him, and pay him well. sometimes his MO doesn't work out in his favor and he has to fight his way out; which sucks since he's HORRIBLE at aiming with a gun and would have to resort to close-ranged stabs with a knife or his mantis blades... but more often than not his stealth and quickhacks saves the day. he can read but he's not a reader. and he has no idea what could be considered art, much to Johnny's chagrin.

His parents probably didn't imagine he'd use his several-thousand-eddies-a-month education to one day run the city's most infamous bar and criminal hangout... and be fucking good at the job!

While he's going through phases of being completely clean for a few months at a time, it is a continuous battle and he's relapsed here and there.

Precious baby is to be cherished and snuggled (Heiss only) and just for not, I put both naive and sex neutral because Neo is into Heiss, he enjoys the kissing and the touching and the warm feeling he gets but he doesn't really hold interest in actual sex. ⭐PERSONAL⭐
vance grew up in a corporate family of four. they all lived in charter hill for most of his relatively, unexceptionally happy childhood. he had friends, crushes on the cute neighborhood boys, the works. he was mistakenly assigned female at birth and transitioned, much to his family's surprised delight, just before he took his place in arasaka's netrunning ranks. before he went by vance, he went by penn.
vance would often sneak out of the house to explore westbrook's neighboring districts, usually so he could klep tech he'd need for his cyberdeck/homemade daemons, or just to dick around and fuck with people by hacking little objects like radios and holo-ads.

working as an assassin/netrunner for arasaka has its perks! the rare times he was caught in the middle of some corporate espionage (ie: carrying out a hit), arasaka always had just the right alibi for him.
and for the crimes he did get away with...well i imagine they keep his file under lock and key so good luck to the ncpd on bringing him in for anything :3
⭐FAMILY⭐
vance isn't close with his family. both his mother and father fought in the war; they were never unkind to him or his sister maya, but they lacked a gentle touch. worse, still, that they carved their own spot for themselves in arasaka and have held on tight since. both parents would work late, late into the night, not coming home until early morning, so vance rarely saw either of them to begin with.
vance tells johnny, kerry, and his other romantic partners the same story: he cut off contact with his family, including maya, because he never wanted to be part of that life again. but the truth is this: he knows he isn't worthy of their shared surname, so why associate himself with it?

she didn't ask after him when he left and didn't go looking for him, either. she was the first person vance came out to, and the one to suggest his first name: penn.

while vance's relationship (no pun intended) with romance is iffy at best, his personal philosophy vis-a-vis sex is that he's here to fuck nasty while he still can, especially with the relic on his ass. he doesn't care about being someone's one-time or frequent input (he's the latter, for river); this attitude, however, is pretty much a front because he doesn't know the first thing about romance, having foregone it entirely as a netrunner, and he's trying his best to mend that for johnny and kerry...
...that being said, his relationship with kerry is. weird. on one hand, he thinks kerry is only with him because of johnny (which is pretty possible). on the other, he kind of enjoys the way kerry looks at him like he hung the moon, even though he knows the other man is imagining someone else entirely. it's both nice and horrific to not be seen as v for once. he thinks, maybe, that's what it means to love.
they're in a happy relationship, they love each other, but they've got johnny's skeleton in the closet, and they're both trying to ignore it--johnny included.

HC: Masaru used to be a criminal
Am I about to throw out a feral headcanon out into the ether based on three panels and two lines of dialogue?
You bet your sweet ass I am!
The basic HC is that Masaru used to be a criminal/villain and that he taught Katsuki some of the stuff he learned at the time.
If you want to see me elaborate and explain my thinking it'll be under the cut.
Okay to start off, why do I think this.
It's all based on the first panel. On Katsuki saying "Thought I told you to stop smoking! Get caught, and it'll go on my record too..."
This is not something teens think about, not even ones as ambitious and driven as Katsuki. He's 14 here. At that age police and permanent records are a distant thing. Yes you are aware they exist, that they are a thing, but you don't realize they could effect you directly, that such things could stop you from doing what you want.
Kids that age don't think something they do at the time could effect them for the rest of their lives, especially something innocuous like being near someone who smokes cigarettes. The idea that something like that could stop you from doing a job is just not something that exists at that age. Fourteen year olds don't think like this.
They just don't... unless they are told about it.
Which is where the criminal Masaru HC comes in.
My basic thinking is that Masaru too wanted to become a hero when he was younger, not much of a stretch all the kids want to be heroes when they are young in the universe, but he had a criminal record of some kind which prevented him from applying to a hero school.
I think that his first "offense" was something innocuous and stupid. Normal stuff kids get up to in their teens. Being out late, being with friends spray-painting graffiti, or even the exact same thing. He was in a group of friends, someone was smoking and some asshole cop or hero saw them and they all got a record.
Katsuki finds out about it either by over hearing him talk about it to someone else (could be something casual or could be him not getting a job over it) or Masaru might have explained this directly to Katsuki when the kid started talking about becoming a hero and being a shithead in the mean time.
Now as for what happened to Masaru after he failed to get into a hero school has to do with the whole villain label in the BNHA universe, something I will go into later on a separate post. The gist is that villain is a mystery box type label. If someone breaks the law they are labeled a villain, and if someone is a villain you have no clue what they did to become one. It's a mystery label. Did they steal? Kill? Rape? Punch someone? You don't know and if you are hiring someone why would you risk it?
So the only path left for Masaru was to become a criminal. How much he did is entirely up to you, as the only thing I have evidence of is pickpocketing.
Which brings me to the second quote that spawned this HC: "I pickpocketed 'em back so they wouldn't be blown to bits."
Katsuki pickpocketed wallets and purses mid-battle without anyone noticing... that shows he's very fucking good at it. Really fucking good. With how much of a square he actually is I do not believe he got this good stealing out on the streets.
No, I'd say Masaru trained him, since he was little probably. Probably had hero card packets or sweets (as I think Kat has a massive sweet-tooth) hidden in his pockets Kat had to steal.
You can of course add other skills Masaru trained him for. Lock picking, spacial awareness , recognizing and finding security measures, disabling or avoiding them, stuff like that, but that's nothing I have canon proof for.
Now as for why I picked Masaru over Mitsuki for the criminal background... it's mainly because of their quirks. Masaru's quirk would have allowed him to become a hero, a minor one or a sidekick. Mitsuki's quirk isn't all that useful for hero work.
This way Kat has a two parents who wanted to become heroes, but couldn't. One didn't have the quirk for it and the other wasn't allowed to. This way you have that whole thing of inherited ambitions/dreams pushing Kat even further forward.
...I can also see Mitsuki falling for criminal/bad-boy Masaru only to then beat him into a law-abiding citizen when she gets pregnant.
Anyway, that's about it for this HC of mine. I welcome questions and input and discussions and disagreements.

She's done a lot but rarely feels like she's where she's supposed to be.

She often gets so busy she forgets to eat so once she realizes she's hungry shes eating any scop she can get her hands on.

However, being a merc/edgerunner is a weird place to be in, where you do a crazy high paying job one day and then won't have any work the next while also getting occasional access to goods/tech that one would normally have to be upper class to afford.
