Forrest Gump - The Soundtrack LP There is no denial that this movie is extremely entertaining. Seeing someone innocently live through so many major milestones in history, somehow directly involved yet lurks in the shadows is such an entertaining concept. We have all felt alienated at some point in our lives. IMO, this is the thing the story does so well to help us connect with the character. There but not seen. Directly involved yet unnoticed. Quietly drifting through our lives. The music does a terrific job of associating so many different timelines that it has multiple opportunities to attach emotion to the viewer at some point in the film. Although this is basically a film review, we would not be featuring it here if it was not a power packed soundtrack. 30 Day Movie Challenge  Day 1: My favorite movie - Forrest Gump (1994)

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I always enjoy watching Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks brought to life one of the most endearing characters in movie history. I’ve learned a lot of great life lessons from this film, but the one that I’m going to mention is that intelligence isn’t everything. Forrest was a humble country boy from Alabama who grew up to become an important international figure. He achieved so much in his life without having a high IQ. This proves that someone who doesn’t have it can still be a kind and lovable person, just like Forrest.

Sad news, folks.  My trusty Canon G10 has died.  Here we have her last picture.  :( Try as I might, I couldn’t get her to accept commands, so she wouldn’t focus properly or switch between functions.  While I like the picture, and often try to get the crisp background like this, I would have preferred it to be on my terms.

Don’t cry for her.  She had a good life and saw many amazing things.  Her passing is just a part of the cycle, and the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.  Some might see this as a bad thing, but I like to remember that I’m around to take pictures and I’m taking pictures of things I create.  Take solace in knowing she was a boon companion for more than a decade.

With the post-holiday slump in sales, it might be awhile before I’m posting anything of the goings-on here at Three Rivers Forge, but I’ll continue to post images of wonderful hand-forged ironwork of days long gone.  As soon as I’m able, rest assured that I’ll be back with more original images of things crafted on my anvil.

I rewatched FOREST GUMP today! I had forgotten how great it is! If you haven’t seen it at all or in a while then I suggest you have a look. Because it truly is a great movie that can have a massive positive influence and change on a person. The lessons and morals that are brought forward in this movie are so relevant and true, it makes you want to live to the fullest. Today was a great day; it reignited a flame and I am grateful for that.
