Merry Christmas!

And an early happy new year, since I'll be traveling at that time and won't be able to post anything. Sorry for the long disappearance. I wish I had some exciting excuse like being abducted by the fae or becoming a spy, but really I've just been going through a lot and haven't been drawing much. #hello to anyone who happens to b interested in the saga of my life... also maybe the irl person i gave my url to... hopefully my blog #didnt freak her out too much lol. anyway so its been a busy week? 2 weeks? month? year? life? its been a lot. my parents helped me move #across the country from the desert to somewhere that's beautiful and green. my dad is so jealous of me lol its so so so pretty and theres s #so much to do. will i do any of it? that remains to be seen but im gonna try to be better about that sort of thing. try to get some help #with the thoughts in my head that keep me from doing and enjoying most things. its weird like im decorating my new room which i love. the #location and living situation seem ideal and i really hope i can stay here all 5 years of my program but i was picking a lot of bright #colors and now it feel uncomfortable. like if i wear things that r too bright or my room is too bright without dark contrast it feel weird #like if im wearing it it kinda makes me feel sick. idk what thats abt. anyway. ill try to heal my brain and im just so happy to b out of the #southwest. i was so so so excited when we were leaving thr city and even more so when we left the state. i cant believe im here. in December #it felt like a million years away and i really truely could not fathom how i was gonna survive that long. my thoughts were so distorted. but #i did and here i am. and in like a month i should b starting my phd program and my parents were telling me how excited ppl r for me and #jealous of where im living and im glad. im glad they're excited. i think i am too but its under a layer of: if i get excited it wont happen #im not allowed to b excited or it wont happen. which is irrational but ya kno. anyway so that's yeah. im so happy to have a fresh start and #the town seems super cool. a liberal blip in a sea of... not that so theyre very visibly pride forward haha and i think itll b way easier #for me to get around without driving. and im gonna try to make friends. i need someone to tell me where to get tattoos haha. so yea im happy #but exhausted and i dont wanna go back to work and so so greatful to my parents for being wonderful ppl idk how bc both of them had fucked #up childhoods. like my mum will say the saddest shit and im like bro this is y i don't wanna talk to my grandma fuck her and my dads parents #r so fucked. like my nana is the reason im so fucking control freaked out but i kno i have issues and she has no insight and thinks shes #better than everyone. anyway hopefully i can get back to drawing a posting more now. ive been drawing it its been in a sketch book #like an actual sketch book for sketching big ideas thst r gonna take fucking forever to draw 😭#so that's all. just uprooted my whole life. thats all. but in a good way :-]#unrelated

I don't not mean this offensively at all but is blows my mind that you are a lawyer but also writing jjk fics bc I work at a law firm and cannot for the life of me imagine any of the lawyers that work there writing fanfiction LOL kudos to u seriously I know how busy schedues can get due to court dates haha

im working in like. big city criminal law stuff right now and have been told by people in my office that i come off as a very deadpan and straight-laced legal nerd so i don't think the people who know me from my attorney life are imagining me writing jjk fanfic in my free time either

#I've got a friend who's clerking for a federal judge rn who's also a big fandom person tho she doesn't write #the legal sphere in general really does try to consume your entire life and i sort of hate that part of the business #like i like being a lawyer but i don't like how aggressively it tries to occupy your whole life #it makes offices very cultish #i like having boundaries in life and i have plenty of friends in my office but like. i have a life outside of it too that i want to keep.#and lawyers are so up their own ass about professional reputation that fandom shit is almost never discussed in a legal environment #you could not waterboard it out of me that I write fanfic for fun at work oh my god #it's not that i'm ashamed of it to be clear i'm proud of my stories i just don't know any of them well enough to trust them yet #lawyers are assholes so often holy shit #like not all of us. some of the nicest people i have ever met are lawyers. but the culture breeds a lot of very big and fragile egos #probably more lawyers than you'd think are into fandom stuff but they absolutely do not bring that shit up #i'd like to think i'll be doing fanfic and fandom stuff for years. it's just a great community and i really really love doing it.#i'm also a kick ass lawyer tho so i'm probably gonna be doing some pretty serious shit at work and just also being a fanfic writer.#but yeah court is exhausting and chaotic and i've been in it every day for like two weeks now so feel free to shoot me

Okay but about that new Alien Stage thing....I know this is a tired and true cliche that is pretty popular with most modern metafiction but, like....I'm unironically asking. What if we're the aliens observing these characters like they're our pets?

#i havent been able to keep up on my fandoms cause busy life yay....#but alien stage's pretty short #and that ad...like the way it seemed almost targeted to /us/#and the top 3 being our boys (well that's also because our girls are dead. run away. somehow a rebel or something??)#but just......#im obsessed with the implications that us viewers are the aliens #watching their suffering like theyre something we're scoping to own #and sometimes isnt that really what fandom culture can be sort of portrayed as?#im not saying fandoms are these foreign aliens outside of the characters' world (aka their outer space of sorts)....#...who disrupt the characters' peace/invade their world to take them as pets and treat them like beloved animals....#...but im also saying it COULD be scraped to that and that messes me up #i love vivinos so much and the creativity they put in their animations like....ough #alien stage #fandom spamdom #stuff i say

GOD my heart aches every time I see the black Dartmoor

#it looks so much like my heart horse that never was (except the Dartmoor is missing a little white marking he had)#he was at the barn where a family member had their horse. a little too poorly cared for... he refused to be rideable (past abuse probably)#and they just didnt bother with him much. he was so so so pretty but his mane was always tangled and hooves out of form and stuff #whenever I came along I'd spend the whole time there just caring for him. brushing out the tangles. braiding his mane. oiling his hooves.#(just braiding the mane could take 20-30 minutes. it was so long and beautiful)#i brought him along for hacks in a halter and lead rope whenever i could. the lazy fuck (affectionate) REFUSED to go faster than a walk #but I am also a lazy fuck so it fit me pretty well tbh #in the beginning he was really tentative towards me and the stable owner had to help me go get him. but eventually he started coming to me #wasn't much of a cuddly type but you know in your heart when a horse enjoys your company don't you #my life got in the way too much because I was in high school commuting 90 minutes one way #but. sigh. what we could've had if I wasn't so freaking busy all the time :(#I'm not even sure he's alive anymore. I think it's been four years since my family member moved their horse and his fur was graying then #wasn't a dartmoor though #papers claimed him as a dole horse but his papers were untrustworthy loll. he looked more like a fell or maybe dales pony #z talks

#i might delete later idk #imma rant sorry lol #this is also just mostly for me to get my feelings out #it was one of my favourite ways to spend nights with friends #its how we all bonded too #we would all get together and play for hours over a few drinks and just chatting #when youre an adult life usually gets pretty busy but at least once every two weeks we would get together and play #its a shame i was forced to move so far and i can no longer see them but it was for the best #i sound like a loser but its just one of my favourite things #and its sad when you can no longer do something you once loved #sorry for the suck fest ive just been feeling a little downhearted lately #slaasher speaks

also for smt v replay i went with the version of newgame plus that carries over less because like. i just replayed p4g (ng+), p4a and p4au (i do not enjoy gameplay so i let the game autoplay), and pq2 (ng+). and while its fun to minmax and focus on completing like, more challenge-level content, for the love of god i need to do something more challenging

#shitpost #i love like 100%-ing and completing difficult stuff that you pretty much need to be new game plus to do #but like.#i DO also like these games for the difficulty. i LIKE to get good at the systems and party formatting etc #so like playing 4 games in a row where it was easy (and in terms of p4a and p4au i treated it as a visual novel)#i like feel like im dying a bit lol #the only game im playing for challenge is my usual swtor nightmare raiding #and like. i need a little more in my life #i dont ALWAYS need challenge in games but. i wasn't going to play a FIFTH game with no challenge #im also still doing like maybe 2 hours a week in arkham knight combat to get stars + keep my skills up #and like i spent months there perfecting all the arkham games so. recently especially ive been enjoying challenges moreso than usual #and like again thats not the only reason i play games but. it is A reason #and rn im like. i havent gotten a break in terms of Busy Life #so really focusing on games and such is... a good way for me to feel better
