Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8 | Chapter 9 | Chapter 10: Discussions
------
Titan’s study seemed to be darker than it had ever been before, the King’s mood leaking into the surrounding environment. Trench’s unease was well hidden on his face, but it was still there, and he exchanged a worried look with X20 as Titan sat in front of them with his eyes closed, chin on his clasped hands as he mulled over their failures of the day.
Finally, his eyes opened, and he regarded them both with a disappointed stare. “X20. You should be glad that you removed any and all information about the plan from Lemoy. That is your only saving grace. How could they have escaped, you idiot?” Titan hissed, expecting an answer.
“W-Well, I…” When X20 couldn’t answer, Titan regarded him with a cold look. His attention was on his once arch-enemy in a second.
“And you.” He began. Troy had to hide the shivers that went up his spine. “I gave you a chance to make things right. And yet, even after how she betrayed you when you needed her, you hesitated,” he mentally counted how many times his Captain failed to land the final strike, “five times.” Titan huffed. “That’s five times too many, Tempest.”
X20 blanched at the use of the Captain’s real name, looking over at the human, shame at having forgotten to take out that stupid key forgotten. He watched Troy with concealed sympathy. Troy frowned, but seemed to take it in his stride. “Sire, all I can do is apologise. I thought I was ready to face her in battle, and I wasn’t…”
Titan huffed after a while, standing up. “I understand the land-dwellers were once your friends, but they are now your enemies. I expect you to treat them as such.” He folded his arms behind his back as he circled the two of them. X20 was instantly reminded of a barracuda circling its prey. “If either of you fail me again, you will pay for it. Do you understand?”
“Yes, sire.”
“Yes, O Titan.”
“Good. Now get out of my sight…” Neither of them needed telling twice. They were out of there in a shot.
------
Atlanta placed her dinner next to where Phones and Fisher were sitting in the cafeteria with a sigh. It had been a week since the Battle of Pacifica, and they’d heard nothing from Titanica. Phones gave her a look as he chewed. He swallowed his mouthful, hoping to strike up a conversation with her. “Hey Atlanta.” He started.
“Hey.” She replied halfheartedly.
“How’s your day been so far?” Atlanta grimaced. “That frantic, huh?”
His friend let out a snort of amusement. “No, not like that. If anything it’s been the opposite.”
Fisher poked at his food. “Quiet, huh?”
“Too quiet…” Atlanta agreed, picking up her fork as Marina sat opposite the human trio. “Especially after what happened in Pacifica.” She sighed. “I don’t like how uneventful things have been.”
Fisher shrugged. “Well, they lost, which I doubt was the plan. Bet they weren’t banking on Marina being so hardcore.” The young Lieutenant gave the mermaid a grin, and she blushed a light green at the praise. “They’re gonna have to adjust for it.”
“I suppose…” Atlanta smiled softly in Fisher’s direction. He had a point. Marina’s hand signals caught her eye. “What’s up Mari?”
The mermaid made a series of gestures, asking for a time to talk to Commander Shore.
“Of course I can get Dad to talk to you. He’d never say no to you… But,” Atlanta raised an eyebrow, “what is this about?”
Marina made more hand signals. Phones eyes widened.
“It’s about your fight with Troy?” Marina nodded at the question. Phones hummed. “Okay. The Commander will wanna hear it, and so will we.”
------
The knock on the door was a surprise, his mask slipped on in a flash, even though he knew it could only really be one person. “Come in.” Sure enough, in stepped X20, carrying a brown paper bag in with him. “What brings you here, X20? Shouldn’t you be out gathering information in Marineville?” Troy took off the mask mid-sentence, eyebrow raised at his subordinate. If Titan ever found out the surface agent was here and not in the field-
“I returned here to report to his majesty about my mission’s progress in person. I’ve got a few marine hours before I’m due to leave Titanica.” X20 admitted in that nasally voice of his. Surprisingly, it didn’t annoy the former WASP as much as it used to. “Thought you might want some company while you’re working. I believe your kind call it ‘socialising’...” The surface agent frowned slightly, sceptical. Making friends had never been the Titanican way, so it didn’t come as naturally to X20 as it did Troy, but he was determined to make this work. He’d been so lonely even before serving Titan, and humans had always praised the benefits of calling someone a friend. Maybe, just maybe, he’d be able to experience that for once.
Troy hummed. “We do.” He looked at the overwhelming stack of reports he had to deal with. Having someone to talk to had always made work fly by for him. He missed that. He missed it a lot… “What harm could it do?” At his superior’s invitation, X20 sat down, pulling out a couple of items out of the bag. Troy’s eyes widened. “Where did you get these?”
X20 placed them in front of the Captain. “I heard they were your favourites back on the surface, before you joined us.” The soft drinks seemed to shine in the fading light of the office. Above the waves, X20 knew the sun was setting, signalling the end of the day. It wouldn’t be the end of it for King Titan’s right and left-hand men, however. “You must be pretty sick of seawater and algae by now. I’ve also heard getting gifts for someone is the best way to start a friendship, but I’m not sure what to do now…” The agent admitted.
Troy offered him a genuine smile, something he felt he hadn’t done in a long time. “Now…” Troy started, more than happy to give X20 some guidance here. “Now we talk about what we like, what we don’t like. We share funny stories from our past and what we want to do in the future. We-” He cut himself off as the images of Atlanta, and then Phones, flashed through his mind. Before X20 could say anything about his sudden silence, he pushed the thought of his former friend and girlfriend to the side. “We talk about fears and uncertainties. We get to really know the people we’re with, as if they’re our blood family.”
“I see.” X20 grinned in understanding. “So, where should we start?”
Troy rubbed his chin in thought. “Well, you already know what my favourite drink is,” he gestured to the cans on his desk, “so, what would you say your favourite is?”
In the end, they ended up talking for a couple of hours, only stopping when an aquaphibian interrupted them to find X20. Their time was up. It was time for the surface agent to return to his mission on the surface. Troy sighed when everyone was out of earshot, his thoughts drifting once more towards Atlanta. It had been surprisingly easy to talk to X20, but it had been even easier to talk to her.
Throughout years of building up their relationship, of sharing everything, they’d finally gotten to a point where Troy couldn’t have imagined a life without her. He’d even gotten a ring for her to offer her. To ask her to spend the rest of her life with him. But Titan had taken him in before he could ask, and his love for her was called into question. Did he even still love her anymore?
There was no way he’d give himself back to the WASPs. But was there a way to convince the woman he loved to join the Titanican cause? He shook his head almost as soon as the thought appeared. Atlanta’s feelings for him were strong, once upon a time, but her love for her father was most definitely stronger at the moment.
Defeated, he took one last look at the ocean out of the window, the vast waters beyond the city now completely black. He stood up, sliding his mask back on. He had a few checks to make before calling it a night.
------
Commander Shore was the first to speak. “Troy was hesitating?” The control room was silent upon Marina’s reveal. From the outside, it would’ve looked as if he just kept missing his mark, but the mermaid knew him too well than to believe that. “You’re certain?” Marina nodded, determined.
“I knew it…” Phones muttered. “I knew there’d be a way to get through to him!”
Fisher grinned. “Yeah, he’d never want to hurt us, no matter what side he’s on.”
“Hold on.” Shore held up his hands, signalling a time-out. “I already know what you’re thinking, and it’s out of the question.” Phones froze. “You’re not going to Titanica to try and convince Troy to come home.” Shore frowned, offering the Lieutenant a sympathetic look. “I’m sorry. But it’s too dangerous.”
“But Commander,” Fisher began, “this may be our best chance. If Troy’s having doubts, he’s more likely to listen to us.”
The Commander sighed. “I’m well aware. But the Titanican attack on Pacifica was costly, even if we did win. Too many crews are gravely wounded.” His previously sharp gaze drooped as his mind drifted to the officers who had lost their lives that day. His companions were similarly subdued. “Or worse…” He locked eyes with Phones, who looked back at him sadly. “We’re weakened while they’re recovering. Stingray will remain on standby until then. That’s-”
“Sir, please don’t say it.” Fisher cut him off hurriedly.
“That’s an order.” Everyone gave him a look. “Oh, don’t give me that.” He subtly rolled his eyes. He swore up and down he didn’t just have one child sometimes. “You all know I’m right. Now, you all better get to bed. It’s late.”
“Commander!” The frantic voice of one of the cadets floated through the doors. “News from Patrol Vessel Number 33!” Everyone looked at the young woman, curious. “They have captured a Titanican vessel just a few miles west of the beach. And they have a prisoner.”
Commander Shore raised an eyebrow. “I can tell there’s something particularly special about this prisoner…” He smirked when the cadet nodded. “Well, speak up soldier! Who’s the lone soul who’ll have to deal with WASP interrogation first thing tomorrow?”
“It’s Surface Agent X20, sir…”

Christmas of Aquanauts.
Tumblr media
-Marineville, mid-December.
Troy Tempest the Captain of Stingray, ex-Captain Bradley Holden and ex-WASP oceanographer Gordon Tracy were drank in the corner of the Pub.
“You should be very grateful to Phones.”
Brad, who was drunk and a bit preachy, turned his attention to Troy.
Troy shrugged and looked Gordon as he asked help him.
“Certainly, it's probably thanks to him that those lovely ladies didn’t get mad at you.”
Gordon smiled mischievously.
“Come on , you guys are sooo merciless for me.”
Troy gestured as he surrendered to them, and reached for the fried fish.
“Haha, I gonna get water.”
Gordon got off the chair.
“Hey, I still not drank so much.”
Brad laughed cheerfully.
------
-Meanwhile in the control tower…
“achoo…hey, anybody taking about me?”
Phones sneezed, and Sub-Lieutenant Fisher who was playing chess by himself, jumped his shoulders in shock.
“Bless you.”
“Thanks.”
“I hope that person is not Titan.”
Fisher said, and he looked back to chess board.
“Yeah…I don‘t wanna see they found a rockabilly band and held the countdown concert in here.”
Phones sighed.
------
“Christmas is almost here.”
Gordon smiled happily.
They got off the pub and walking to Residential area. As they approached there, Christmas lights were decorated everywhere.
“By the way, does Spectrum also celebrate Christmas?”
Nobody knows Brad joined Spectrum, except few people including Troy and Gordon.
“Nah…our boss is very strict man. I will work that day, and hope I could eat Christmas cake.”
-Actually, Colonel White got angry because of troublesome guys in his organization including Brad aka Captain grey. But this is another story-
“Gordon, will you spent Christmas holiday with your families?”
Troy asked.
“Yes, I‘m looking forward to our family get together.”
“That‘s good! I hope you will enjoy. ”
“Thank you.”
“I hope The Aquaphibians will enjoying Christmas under the sea and we will spent peacefully this holiday.”
When Troy said that, Brad and Gordon smiled, because they remembered Troy‘s episode about he and Barry Byrne.
-----
-Spectrum Control Center.
“Oh….I wish I could join them...”
ex-WASP Seymour Griffiths as Lieutenant Green sighed in front of the computer.
“Anything fun?”
Captain Magenta came into the room just a little faster, it looks like he is an impatient man.
“Hi! Captain grey went our old workplace and he drank with friends after his job.”
“That’s too bad. However, I will in trouble if both of you get out of here, because you guys are relatively sane in this organization…”
The impatient Irishman scanned his ID, logged into the control room computer, and set up various apps 1.5 times faster than he could speak.
“You forgot Captain Ochre.”
“WHAT?”
Magenta opened his eyes and shook his head, as if to tell Green not to say that stupid thing.
“What's so sane about the craziest Guy in this organization? and I should educate him with Captain Scarlet‘s Opening Sequence.”
“What are you talking about?”
“No, forget it.”
Magenta looks cursing about Ochre, but Green smiled and took over the business because in fact, he understood Magenta trusts him and Ochre.
“You are going to off-duty aren‘t you.”
“Yes.”
“So you should go to the dining hall and you will found something you like.”
Magenta grinned.
“Ohhh, I wonder what's there…Bye, Captain.”

The Examination of a Witch (1853), depicting the trial of Quaker preacher Mary Fisher in 1656. Oil on canvas, 38.5 x 53.9 in.
6 Facts You Didn’t Know About the Salem Witch Trials
Witches Tests Could Not be Passed
No One Was Burned at the Stake
The Youngest Accused Witch was Four Years Old
Courts Allowed Spectral Testimonies
Most of the Accusers were Children
The Trials Only Stopped when the Governor’s Wife was Accused
Tumblr media
Witches Tests Could Not be Passed - Clergymen conceived the tests, and the accused witches would be tested until they failed, proving their practice of witchcraft. There was no way around the tests, and no one could pass every test.
No One Was Burned at the Stake - This style of execution is commonly thought of in conjunction with witch trials because, out of the tens of thousands of witch executions in Europe, many were burned at the stake. However, in Salem, no execution was carried out by burning the accused alive. The majority were executed by hanging.
The Youngest Accused Witch was Four Years Old - While most of the accused witches were adults, even elderly adults, one exception is Dorothy Good. Dorothy was four or five when she was charged and arrested for witchcraft. Her mother, Sarah Good, was an accused witch who would be one of the women executed by hanging for her supposed devil worship. Dorothy was said to be animalistic and deranged, traits she acquired from consorting with the devil.
Courts Allowed Spectral Testimonies - Spectral evidence is a form of evidence based on religious beliefs or visions and dreams. The alleged victims of witchcraft would claim to have been tormented by the spectral images of certain named members of the community; this was taken as evidence that those named were witches.
Most of the Accusers were Children - Those who were “afflicted” or victimized by the supposed witches were relatively young. The first accusers were Elizabeth Parris and Abigail Williams, aged 9 and 11. The girls were the daughter and niece of Puritan minister Reverend Samuel Parris, and when they fell ill, they blamed their symptoms on an enslaved woman in Parris’s household named Tituba. Many other young women followed suit, the oldest being 20. They accused supposed witches of afflicting them with all manner of symptoms. In reality, if the accusers were sick, it was due to contaminated drinking water rather than sorcery.
The Trials Only Stopped when the Governor’s Wife was Accused - When Phips learned of the allegations against his wife, he finally decreed that spectral evidence would not be permitted in the Salem witch trials. The eight witches Stoughton had planned to convict were cleared, and the Lieutenant Governor abandoned his post. Soon after, in February 1693, all accused witches were pardoned and released from prison by May.

Profiles in Villainy
Henchman 21
Gary Fisher was abducted by accident by the villainous Fluttering Horde who had mistaken the large-statured teenager for their intended target.  A long time fan of science fiction and comic books, Gary was actually pretty psyched and he leapt at the chance of becoming a minion to a real life supervillain.  As such, Gary joined the ranks of the horde and became an underling of The Menacing Monarch, designated as Henchman #21.
Gary made good friends with his fellow minion, Henchman 24.  The pair were involved in many of the Monarch’s evil machinations and while scores of their fellow minions were killed in actions, the two always managed to survive; ultimately leading to the two considering that they might be indeed immortal.
Such lofty speculations were cruelly snuffed out when Henchman 24 was tragically killed in action.  The death of his good friend took a drastic tole on Gary.
Tumblr media
He rededicated himself to the henching craft, honing his mind and body to their upper limits.  He became such a skilled combatant that he was even able to hold his own against the renown Brock Sampson, earning Sampson's rarely-offered respect.
Gary became an inspiration to his fellow minions amongst the Fluttering Horde.  They called him ‘Two-Ton Twenty-One’ and treated him with great reverence.  In turn, Gary helped to better train the Horde, making them into a much more effective fighting force (with a significantly higher survival rate).  Although he had ostensively become The Monarch’s primary henchman, he refused the designation of 'Henchman 1' so to honor his humble beginnings and the memory of his fallen friend.
With Henchman 21’s aide, The Monarch became a much more successful and feared villain.  Side adventures saw Gary becoming a member of SPINX, aiding the OSS in defeating Monstrosso and posing as the sidekick of the new Blue Morpho.  Yet he ultimately returned to his role as Henchman 21 at The Monarch’s side, acting as the villain’s top lieutenant and confidant (burying down his unrequited love for his boss' wife, Mrs. Dr. Girlfriend.
Series co-creator, Doc Hammer provides the voice for Henchman 21, with the character originally appearing in the third episode of the first season of The Venture Bros., airing on August 21st, 2004.

If I may dare ask what are your favourite romance novels?????
this will sound obnoxious, but i tend to love romance best when i encounter it in other genres (and i could definitely make a list of novels from different genres where the romance isn't the point but it goes so hard for me, and i think i have made some lists like that in the past? i really have to organize my books/book recs/book rec tags. and maybe make more lists)
but if we're going by novels that are considered and (could be) classified as romance, here's an imperfect list:
all of austen of course, but especially pride and prejudice and persuasion
jane eyre by charlotte bronte
the age of innocence by edith wharton
anna karenina by tolstoy (where i think i'm fonder of the kitty/levin pairing)
doctor zhivago by boris pasternak
gone with the wind by margaret mitchell (hate/love relationship but i am not immune to it, i'm afraid! i will say i prefer the book to the movie)
excellent women by barbara pym (god, i love the grumpy hero/heroine pairing here)
bridget jones's diary (the first book especially)
girl with a pearl earring by tracy chevalier (the movie too! colin firth and scarlett johansson had such good chemistry, it was surreal)
the blue castle by l.m. montgomery (love that we have a genuine "plain jane" heroine that doesn't turn out to be beautiful if she lets down her hair or any of that nonsense)
the french lieutenant's woman by john fowles (a postmodern romance, in many ways, but the yearning is so good)
spring snow by yukio mishima (i do think this is a romance, first and foremost, and my goddd, the angst and the yearning)
eligible by curtis sittenfeld (a modern p&p retelling; i know a lot of ppl hate this one but i really like it, though it could have been shorter. some of the lizzy/darcy moments in this book made my brain go brrr. the humor is great too)
sofia khan is not obliged (but just the first book in this series - another fun p&p retelling with a muslim heroine)
conversations with friends by sally rooney (i promised i wouldn't stretch the genre but this to me read as more of a romance than anything. and though i struggled with some parts of this book, i will admit that the affair between frances and nick did get to me. there were some particular sex scenes where rooney was doing what i like with the smut in terms of revelation and vulnerability)
the princess diarist by carrie fisher (okay, i'm doing it again, this is technically classified as memoir but again, the sections about harrison ford?? INSANE in terms of romantic anguish and angst. theee RPF of all time)
who's that girl by mhairi mcfarlane (some scenes in this book literally made my heart skip a beat?? this is a celeb/journalist romance that really worked for me. mcfarlane doesn't always strike the right chord with me but here, omgg. i hated her a bit for that ending, but some of the moments between the hero and heroine made me kick my feet like a lil kid)
birthday girl by penelope douglas (i don't know if i'd call this favorite, but it did the age gap thing right, while also being hot and well-written. it didn't toootally win me over, but i appreciate it when an author takes the "fell for my boyfriend's dad" trope seriously)

The Moving Car Theory //
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I'm sorry, what did you say?” The guy standing before Amilia chuckled to himself as he watched her disconnect her mic pack from her headset as she asked him to repeat himself. She was still a world away, well her mind was at least. She’d resorted to teaching old releases she knew like the back of her hand so that she could just tune the world out for forty five minutes or so. As the man before her laughed and took out his phone, Amilia couldn't help but to wonder just where it all went wrong, how she was back here, in Australia, doing the same thing she was doing before she left on a two year working holiday–not expecting to fall in love and get her heart broken all at the same time.
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***
It’s not like Jake goes from being this perfect boyfriend to a guy that beats his spouse. No. Jake Seresin was never a perfect boyfriend and Amilia never claimed he was one. He was just Jake. Plane and simple Lieutenant Jake Hangman Seresin.
But for as much as Jake loved Amilia Fisher from the bottom of his heart untill his dying breath—he just didn’t know how to be a boyfriend. He didn’t know how to communicate his feelings, he didn’t understand that to be in a relationship you had to be a team player and although he’d learnt that very skill through his work—he didn’t know how to apply that same logic into his relationship.
He doesn’t not try either, he did. Jake's actions spoke louder than his words and for the most part that was alright. He tried to be everything Amilia needed and deserved but that’s just the problem, Jake doesn’t understand how to be a good partner because he’s never been a good partner before.
Amilia Fisher is Jake’s first long term partner and it shows because she’s the one who handles all the trials and tribulations while Jake tries his hardest to navigate this new kind of commitment he’s in over his head with. It’s not a little known fact that Hangman isn’t a relationship type guy—he doesn’t do long term and he doesn’t do commitment. He’s a grade A commitment-phobe and everyone and their mother warned Amilia that Jake was probably the last person they’d ever see settle down.
But the hope was there in her heart that maybe, just maybe, Amilia was enough for Jake. And Jake does his best, he tries because he loves Amilia so much—he loves this crazy woman who came twirling into his life like a whirlwind tornado he wasn’t prepared for. He just does his best to love her enough that she’ll put up with his inability to express his emotions, his fear of commitment that rivals his fear of her leaving. He does his best to show Amilia that he loves her so much that she understands when he gets held up at work or forgets the plans they had because something else came up or when he says he'll do something that never does get done and Amilia ends up doing it.
But sometimes your best isn’t enough.
It’s not enough sometimes to be just there and not all in. And despite Jake being what he thought was, unconditionally in love with Amilia and all that made her uniquely her. As it turns out there was a condition, and that condition came in the form of a denied attempt to obtain permanent residency in the United States of America.
“What do you mean your request was denied?” Jake asked as he frowned his brows and took the documents Amilia held out to him. “What do they have to deny you for?”
“I couldn’t prove that by me staying here working, that I wasn’t taking away that opportunity for employment from a US citizen.” Amilia explained as she pointed to the simple but damned sentence that gave her less than two weeks to pack her new life up and ship it back to the land down under. “Penny even said she’d sponsor me, but it wasn’t enough to tip me over the edge.” Amilia sighed as she pushed away from the bar—floating around to where the empty schooner glasses were to fetch Jake his beer of choice. Budweiser, on tap. “I can always reapply for another working visa but I have to go back to Australia regardless—I can’t even stay in the country if I quit.” Amilia groaned out in frustration as she flicked the tap. “I feel so naive, we should have seen this coming—nothing is ever as easy as it is on paper.”
“So what, just like that you have to head back to Australia?” Jake asked as he looked up from the documents Amilia had brought with her to her impromptu shift at the Hard Deck. The plan had been to meet for dinner after Jake had finished work, but as always—Jake got held up. So Amilia did what she did best and braved a smile and told herself it wasn’t her, it was Uncle Sam. She picked up a couple extra hours because by the time Jake had gotten around to texting her he’d be late, she’d already been waiting over an hour. “That doesn’t seem right, you have a life here.” Rooster never left Felix hanging, Amilia thought as she waited and waited and waited for Jake to arrive—the text had come far too late. They both worked full time and had two kids and still managed to make the whole communication process look like a piece of cake. “What are you gonna do?”
It was always what was Amilia going to do, never what were we going to do or what can Jake do to help. Again, Amilia knew that Jake wasn’t intentionally making things difficult, but god sometimes he just needed a good smack. Sometimes he really did get under her skin and right now as he sat on the other side of the bar looking at her to solve this major problem that they were meant to be facing head on together, she cracked.
“Well—I need to go back to Australia.” With a polite hand, Amilia passed Jake the beer she’d poured him. Placing the glass on a little napkin on the bar to catch the dripping condensation. “Anyway you look at it, I have to go back, I can’t file another attempt at permanent residence here and I can’t start the process of applying for another working visa until I update my biometrics back in the country.” It wasn’t what Jake wanted to hear. He didn’t want to hear the love of his life tell him she was leaving to go back to Australia.
“Oz, there’s gotta be another option here sweetheart.” There was an option. Two in fact. Marriage which was entirely off the fucking cards because Amilia couldn’t even get Jake to commit to the weekly grocery shop with her let alone commit his entire life. Jake Seresin would never get married, Amilia knew that when she stepped into this relationship. Jake had never vocalised an interest or shown any intent on that home front. So, that left option two.
“Well, I mean—you could always come back to Australia with me?” Amelia's eyes brightened just the slightest bit at the idea. “You could do some sort of posting out there for the navy?” It’s a rough idea but not entirely impossible. “I know that there’s a few Aussie guys that fly for you guys that come in for lunch sometimes, what if you did the same and came with me?” Jake doesn’t say anything as he sat up a little straighter and blinked at Amilia like he’s a deer caught in headlights. He’s processing the idea, slowly, she can see the stupid loading symbol above his head. “It wouldn’t be forever Jake, just a little while while we figure out what we should do and how to make this work and—“ Before Amilia can say how to stay together, Jake’s pressing his lips together and shaking his head.
“I can’t do that.” It’s four words that break Amilias heart more than they should have. “Oz, I can’t move to Australia.” Logically speaking Amilia knows Jake can’t just uproot his life to be with her, she knows he’s got Dot and Fe and Rooster. A job that’s all consuming and his entire family are Texas born and raised. But—Amilia couldn’t help but to feel like she was the second option, the second choice amongst all Jake Seresins priorities. Right now though she felt like she didn’t even make the top five.
“I applied for permanent residency for you.” Amilia wasn’t going to argue, she just wanted Jake to know. “I would’ve given up everything for you, my life back home, my job, my family, my friends, everything to stay here and be with you Jake but when the tables are turned and suddenly you’re put in the same position you didn’t even say let me think about it?” Amilia paused as she undid her waist apron. “Listen, I love you, with all my heart Jake I really do.” Jake could see it, Amilia was holding back tears as she tried to keep her bottom lip from wobbling. “But I don’t see this working if you’re here and I’m there.”
It’s a hard pill to swallow and Jake feels himself losing focus on reality. This conversation is taking a drastic turn and it’s all moving far too quickly for him to keep up with. His world is collapsing right in front of him and it just seems like he’s missing something here.
“You came to that conclusion awfully fast?” He doesn’t know it but that’s the tipping point for Amilia, that remark is the straw that broke the camel’s back. “I don’t wanna break up because of this if that’s what you're getting at here.” He sighs, Amilia just looks at Jake like she’s trying to memorise every single detail of his face. Because she is. She wants to remember everything that made her fall in love with Jake. “And I especially don’t wanna talk about this here, so can we just go home? Decide how we’re gonna combat this?”
Amilia holds her ground as she crosses her arms across her chest. No. There is no other way to combat this. There is no other way to deal with this because Amilia knows if she leaves? Jake's best will only become his worst and then she’ll be stuck a million miles away wondering if he’s thinking about her when she already knows the answer. He won’t be.
Because he can’t even remember to text her that he’s running late until he’s over an hour late when he’s five minutes from the Hard Deck. What’s it gone be like when she’s a million miles away and hasn’t heard from him in a week because he’s been so caught up with work that his entire relationship becomes an afterthought.
“Jake, you either come with me, even just for a little while on a holiday of some sort while I figure out how to legally get back here, or—I go without you and you don’t have to pretend that being with me isn’t the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do.”
“Amilia—I think we need to talk about this.” Jake stands from his stool as Amilia rounds out from behind the bar to meet him. He wraps her in his arms and kisses the top of her head just to smell her. “Hey, I love you, so much.” He mumbles as Amilia hugs him tighter than Jake could ever hug her. “Let’s just go home and talk about this? Before we make any decisions.”
“I uh—“ Amilia pulls back, Jakes shocked to see she’s crying. Her eyes are red and her face is starting to swell a little. “I think you should just take me back to my sister's place.”
“Why would I wanna do that?”
“Because we know how this ends Jake.”
Amilia sobs as he pulls her back in. She’s not angry and she’s not worried about losing the love of her life anymore because if she was really the love of Jake's life there wouldn’t have been any hesitation whatsoever on Jake’s part to come with her. “I don’t wanna drag it out.” Amilia knows when Jake pulled away that she'd wasted a little over a year and a half of her life on a guy everyone told her didn’t do relationships—couldn’t do commitment. And she knows that Jake finally takes her seriously about breaking things off when he turns his attention back to his beer, still half full before he reaches out to skull the rest.
“You really wanna break up? Just like that?” Jake waits for a reply. He waits for Amilia to compose herself as she wipes her tears and takes a deep breath because people are everywhere and she doesn’t wanna make a scene. Roosters already noticed though. He’s having dinner on the dining side of the bar with his loving wife and two children when he catches out of the corner of his eye this complete relationship breakdown that’s happening. “Amilia, do you want to call it quits yes or no?” There’s a slight tone of anger in Jake's voice that Amilia hates, but she nods regardless. It’s all Jake needs before the petty switch flips.
“Jake I love you I really do but I can’t keep pretending a life separate from yours is good enough for me.” Jake doesn’t even understand what that means. His head hurts and his heart feels like it’s caving in on itself. There’s a ring in his sock draw that will need to be returned now. He’s had it for about eight months. Why he never asked the all important question he couldn’t even answer himself. Guess he was just too scared that Amilia would say no or that he just couldn’t commit. So when Amilia reaches out Jake takes a step back and grits his teeth so hard to stop himself from showing any signs of emotional distress he almost feels them crack under the pressure. “Jake it’s the truth, I love you but I can’t do this without you, I need every bit of you to love me, I can’t be some part time afterthought anymore.” Jake doesn’t care, he doesn’t care what Amilia has to say, all he cares about is getting the hell out of the Hard Deck before he can’t control his anger, his frustration, his heartbreak.
“Dive yourself to your damn sisters.” Jake just scoffs before he barges past Amilia, his forearm hits her shoulder and she stumbles on already wobbly legs from the adrenaline and the heartbreak.
“Don’t me a child!” Amilia groans but it’s too late, Jakes gone. She just stands there, holding herself together, looking around until she saw Rooster, with his perfect fucking family and his annoying ass wedding ring and his kids that remind Amilia that that was never going to be her. Not with Jake and certainly not with anyone else. She was gone quicker than Bradley could swallow his last bite to go see what was up.
But the news spread quickly that night. And before she knew it while she cried on her sister’s lap while little Chase made himself useful and brushed Amilias hair against the lounge, Payback was rounding the corner with his phone in his hand frowning at the text he’d just received from Jake.
“Hangman said he put all your stuff into a few boxes and put them in the garage for you.” Reuben just looked at his wife, Amilias sister Chelsea and silently asked her what the fuck was going on. “I uh, I can go round and get whatever you need.” Amilia couldn’t help but to laugh at herself, this was fucking pathetic.
But Jake throwing her shit into boxes within a two hour window of what Amilia would consider the worst breakup of her entire life was even more pathetic than her crying on her sister’s lap with her brother in law looking at her like she’d finally snapped and gone crazy.
“Sure, probably for the best.”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***
Over the next few days Amilia pretty much turns into a recluse. She starts the tedious process of deciding what to take home and what to give away and what to donate to goodwill. You hadn’t heard from her in three days, so after work and with a very convenient playdate scheduled for Dot and Chase, you knock on the bedroom Amilia Fisher had been living in for almost two years whenever she wasn't at Jake's house.
“Ozzie, babe it's just me.” You sighed as you let her forehead rest against the door. Knocking again. “Amilia Jane Fisher open this door now.” Amilia does exactly that with a huff. What you see greeting you is a mess of a woman who hasn't got a single fucking clue what she's doing. Amilia left Australia to try and find herself, now she felt like she was going back with her cup even emptier than what she'd begun with.
“Felix I don’t wanna talk about it alright, I just need to pack.” Amilia didn't bother to stand in your way, she just went back to sorting through clothes and items that scattered the expanse of her bedroom. “What are you doing here?”
“I just came to see how you were holding up, breakups can be hard.” You shrugged as you looked around at the chaos that was the current state of Amilias bedroom. “Breakups with my brother tend to be a little rougher than most.” Amilia caught herself smiling at your words. Of course, you would have seen this happen time and time again. Jake the commitment-phobe Seresin had probably left a trail of broken hearts for you to clean up. “The fuck Oz, you guys were meant to be together forever?”
“I'm guessing Jake told you I broke it off huh?” Amilia sighed as she sat on her bed, still in her pyjamas from three days ago. You just nodded, sitting down beside her cautiously. Jake may have been your brother but Amilia had become a sister, ever since you’d found out she put herself in harm's way to keep you little girl safe. That was a debt you forever owed her.
“Yeah, but I know, I know you haven't been feeling good for a while.” It's not that you had special powers of anything, it was just that sailors recognised other sailors on the sea and you just had enough of your own experiences to know that although Jake loved Amilia with all his heart and all his might, it just wasn't enough because he didn't know how to be with her. He’d tried his best for a little over a year and a half, but in the last four or so months, Amilia just could take it. “Jakes a good guy, and I know he loves you and I know you love him but maybe some time apart to grow will hopefully I don't know, bring you guys back together.”
“Oh I cant hold onto that kinda hope Fe.” Amilia sobbed as she laid her head down on your thigh, looking up at you like you were some kind of therapist.
“Why hon?” You asked softly and as if the flood gates had been opened, a wave of emotional and raw headache overcame Amilia Fisher. She cried into the palms of her hands that shot up to cover her face. “Oh my god, Ozzie I can't stand to see you like this.”
“I just need this to be over Fe–” Amilia cried so hard Chelsea heard it from down the hall. “I can't take this anymore.” You were about to be the person Amilia Fisher dumped on, you knew it, you were prepared for it. “Yes I love Jake and yes I wanted to marry Jake, one day–hopefully, if he ever wanted to! But I didn't want a life separate from Jake and th–that's all he could ever give me!” But Jake had done the same thing when he’d had a bit too much to drink and showed up on your doorstep a sobbing dysfunctional mess because he’d lost the love of his life. “I don't want that, if I wanna be with Jake I wanna be with Jake, and he just didn't get that.”
“I know Oz I know, he's such an idiot–” You cooed, wiping Amilias tears as she felt a burning rage bubbling away inside her.
“I waited, didn't I? I waited, it's like Jake is driving a car Fe, okay–and I just wanna be able to sit in the passenger's seat, but he's locked the doors on me and I have to hold onto the bumper, you know.” All you could do was listen to the woman who’d become one of your favourite people, cry in your lap about a guy she really loved, Jake. “And I'm not even asking him to open the door for me! He could just leave it unlocked and say come in but no–he didn't, he fucking couldn’t so–.” Sobbs escaped from Amilias mouth as she took a deep breath in. “I’m hanging on to the bumper and life goes on and the car goes on and I get hurt and really badly bruised from hitting potholes and it hurts, it just hurts too much so I had to let go of the bumper and watch Jake keep driving into the distance while I figure out how to put myself together again.”
It hurt so bad, but Amilia just hoped that it hurt Jake all the same. That she left him as empty as he’d left her. Short story was that she did, so empty he couldn’t let go of the ring he’d brought her.
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***
“I said, are you seeing anyone at the moment?” The guy repeated himself as Amilia worked to pack her weights away, tossing up just what to say back to the guy who’d hung around after the BodyPump class she’d just filled in for.
“Uh–” For a moment, just to save face, Amilia was going to say yes. It had been four months since the breakup and like a couple of weeks since she’d started to find a routine again. The news of Jake's marriage had really thrown Amilia off course for a while there–it just cemented the fact that she was never enough for Jake deep inside her. She had a feeling that may have been the case but the fact he went and married some random girl after only having dated for a few weeks really instilled that sentiment in Amilias soul.
Still—she congratulated him.
But Amilia had just gotten back into it–settling back into work, getting back into the swing of things after having taken a mental health break yet again.
“No, no I'm not seeing anyone.” Amilia answered honestly through a soft smile, and decided to see where this was going. She could always say thanks but no thanks.
“Cool, I was just wondering if you wanted to grab a coffee sometime? I saw that there's a cafe across the way and thought I could buy you a coffee? If you’re interested?” Amilia didn't answer straight away as she mulled over her next move, it surely couldn't hurt right? She couldn't stay hung up on Jake Seresin, her American Idiot forever could she? Especially since he was now married and moved on.
“Uh sure, why not right?” Amilia agreed and the way the guy before her smiled in response kinda felt nice. “I'll just finish up here and I can meet you over there–” She lingered for a while because she had no name to put to the face that stood before her.
“Oh.” The guy wiped his palm on his active shorts before reaching out to shake Amilias hand. “Jake, Jake Harris.” Of. Fucking. Course. Amilia just smiled and shook his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” Maybe this was Amelia's first step in putting herself together again, getting back out there. So she did as she promised, she packed up her weights, cleaned up the group fitness room a little and was about to head out to grab a coffee with this guy she’d just met when she saw someone sitting in the little PT waiting area who she never thought she’d see the light of day again.
“Hey, Amilia there's some yank waiting for you in the–” One of her colleagues went to mention but Amilia had already caught sight of him. The sound of Amilia's name being said made Jake look up from his phone, he looked tired, but coming straight from the airport to a rental car to the gym Amilia worked at would do that to a person.
“Jake? What are you doing here?” She asked, watching as Lieutenant Jake Hangman Seresin, Amilias American Idiot, the love of her life, stood from his place in the waiting area. He stood before the woman who broke his heart and took it with her when she left. “Wait, the fuck? what are you doing here–?”
“I fucked up.” Jake said as he took a few steps towards Amilia, she didn't move, frozen in her place. Too afraid that if she moved she’d wake up. “I fucked up Oz–” Amilia felt like she couldn’t breathe, couldn’t see straight, couldn’t think, but there was one question she just needed to know before anything else.
“Where’s your wife?” Jake just smiled, he was looking right at her. He knew it, he was going to win Amilia Fisher back even if it took his entire life to do so. He just wanted the love of his life back, whatever it took. If that meant he dropped everything to move to Australia for a brief stint? So fucking be it. He was ready.
“Annulled–”

The battle for Pacifica has begun...
Hi *waves in no update for eight months*
I have no words for how late this is honestly. Big life stuff happened, I went to ComicCon (which was a blast; I went as Marina and met some awesome new people >:3), exams came and went, and then I got hit by the combined forces of a whopper of writer's block and burnout from aforementioned exams.
I would say the update times will get better from here, but I'm heading into the last year of university and will get very busy from September. Fingers crossed though ^^
Anyway, on with the chapter! >:D
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8 | Chapter 9: Battle of Pacifica
------
Phones examined the bars across the large windows carefully, humming worriedly as he did so. They were too narrow to squeeze between, so escaping that way was out of the question. The doors were locked and bolted from the outside. If they ever did get out, it wouldn’t be for a long time, and the Titanican attack on Pacifica may well be over. Phones groaned, jiggling the door handle in frustration in a last ditch hope it would come loose somehow. No luck…
He stole a glance over at Fisher, who was also looking for a way out. They caught each other’s eyes, and the younger aquanaut slumped his shoulders in defeat. It looked like they’d be here for quite some time.
------
“And you are certain they cannot escape?” X20’s screen showed his King and his immediate superior, standing side by side as the battle raged on behind them. From the looks of it, the Titanicans had their enemies on the run.
“Positive, Captain.” X20 confirmed. “I made sure of it. And even if they do get away, I removed anything from my personal files relevant to the plan…”
“I applaud you for your foresight… For once.” Titan hummed, muttering the last part under his breath. “Losing Lemoy as a base of operations is not ideal, but it is necessary.”
Trench nodded in agreement. “Well done, X20. Return to Titanica and await further instructions.” He looked back at the chaos behind him. “The battle is almost over from the looks of it, so your assistance will likely not be required.”
X20 saluted, and the video winked off. Titan turned to his second-in-command. “Return to the battlefield. I realise you might have…” the tyrant frowned, “hesitations about it, but the Princess is a force to be reckoned with. If we are to win, she must be taken care of.”
Trench couldn’t help the proud smile that spread across his face. Of course Marina was carving her path through the enemy. He’d seen her in action before. Pacificans were pacifists by nature, but the rivalry with Titanica had changed that, and their Princess had WASP training under her belt, in addition to the combat lessons Aphony had insisted she take after returning from her capture. She was a worthy opponent.
Of course he had doubts about fighting the mermaid. She had once been like a sister to him. But if his King were to get any further in his goal, it was necessary. “I will not fail, O’ Mighty One…”
“See that you don’t…” Titan turned his attention back to the window, overlooking the battle. The sea-green blur that was Princess Marina, cutting down Aquaphibian after Aquaphibian, taunted him. “You know better than anyone, I am not merciful to those who fail me.”
Trench saluted, turning on his heel, and headed into battle against his former allies.
------
“You got any paper and a pen?” Fisher asked, beyond bored. The aquanauts were sat at the small table, watching the sun set on the horizon. All they could really do was wait. The beauty of the sunset currently meant nothing. “I wanna write something…”
Phones gave him a look. “Really?”
Fisher shrugged. “Hey, it’s not like we have anything better to do.”
“Good point.” Phones stood up. “Well, to answer your question, yes, I have a pen,” he took the item out his pocket, placing it on the table in front of Fisher, “I don’t have any paper, but I might be able to grab a blank page from a book over there…” He pointed towards the small bookshelf, getting up and walking over to grab a book, when a thought crossed his mind. “Wait a minute…” Fisher looked at him quizzically as he bent down to look through the keyhole of the door. Phones smirked when he realised he couldn’t see through the small hole. The key was still in there! X20 must’ve forgotten to take it out. “Of course!”
The younger Lieutenant raised an eyebrow. “What’s going on?”
Phones hushed him, getting more and more excited by the minute. “Never mind that, just gimme that pen back.” Fisher gave Phones a look, but did so anyway. The older man knelt down, judging the space under the door. Good. It was just big enough for this to work…
Grabbing a larger book, Phones tore a page out, slipping it under the door so it would be under the outside keyhole. He left a small slither of paper so he could pull it back towards him. Fisher’s eyes widened when he realised what his friend was up to.
Phones took apart the pen, grabbing ahold of the ink cartridge inside, and gently threaded it through the keyhole. Soon enough, a thud was heard on the other side of the door as the key fell. Fisher gave him a hopeful look. “Think it fell where we want it to?”
“Guess we’ll find out soon enough.” Phones knelt down, and gently pulled the piece of paper towards the aquanauts. The silver gleam of the key was their reward. Phones picked it up with a flourish, exchanging a smirk with Fisher. Next stop, Pacifica.
------
Marina twirled through the water with grace as she exchanged blows with her friend turned enemy. When Trench had first appeared on the battlefield, he had muttered out an apology to Marina, heard only by her. The Princess had shuddered at the robotic voice. It was hard to forget the way she’d heard Troy’s dulcet tones behind it, now she knew it was him wearing the mask. Silently, she had given orders to the soldiers under her command, both Pacifican and WASP alike, to keep away from them as they fought. They’d obeyed, making a move to guard the throne room, where her father was anxiously awaiting the conclusion of the battle, and the return of his only child.
Blades clashed, Marina giving Trench a pleading look. If any part of him was still Tempest, it would at least stir something in him. She wished she knew what was going on his head. She wished she could see the emotions on his face.
On the other side of the watertight mask, Troy was struggling to keep the tears at bay. He hadn’t expected it to be so hard to face Marina in combat. Physically, they were almost evenly matched, with him just outclassing her, but there was something in the Princess’s pleading gaze that gave him pause everytime he went in for what should be the final strike. She was part of the reason why he’d left WASP, wasn’t she? So, why was it so hard to fight her?
“Stingray!” The panicked exclamation from one of the Aquaphibians caught everyone’s attention. Every faction involved looked up as the silver super-sub sped towards the greater WASP fleet. Marina and her people on the field grinned as it lead an attack on the Aquaphibian ships. Their enemy looked on in fear, knowing instantly that they would lose the battle. The Princess was certain she could Titan growl from wherever he was watching.
“Captain Trench.” The King’s cold voice caught his attention. “Issue a full retreat. We’ll never win with Stingray on their side. I’ll discuss both your and X20’s failures once we are safe behind Titanican walls…”
The human nodded, even though he knew his superior wouldn’t see it, and shivered. “Yes, sire.” Making a subtle gesture toward the closest Aquaphibian, the order quickly spread, and soon, the invaders were on the run. As they watched them leave, the Pacificans silently cheered, embracing each other in celebration. Marina smiled gently as her gaze swept along her people, never prouder to call herself a Pacifican. She was taken aback when she was pulled into a tight hug, although her grin widened when she realised who it was, holding her father just as tight.
On board Stingray, Phones and Fisher sadly watched as their once friend retreated with the enemy, even as the sounds of their colleagues on the comms and the sight of the Pacificans celebrating flooded their senses. Fisher cleared his throat. “I forgot to ask…” Phones turned to look his friend in the eye, grateful for the distraction. “How’d you know how to get the key?”
Phones smiled sadly at Fisher. “Troy taught me.” Phones sighed as he remembered that day. They’d been so excited to work on the same crew. Where had it all gone wrong? “It was on our first mission together.”
Fisher took note of the older man’s downcast face. “We’ll get him back, Phones.”
Phones sighed, turning Stingray’s nose back in the direction of Marineville. “I hope you’re right…”

*During a insomia night, inside Witch's mind*
So, who are you again?
A fictional girl
Yeah well, it doesn't help me to understand
Start writing and you'll figure it out
...I need to sleep, I'll lead with you tomorrow
*ends up writing (and even doing the picrew) at midnight to at least keep the idea out of her mind for a while*
Yeah...the thing below just appeared while I was trying to sleep, and now I'm writing about her. It's a new OC, and she'll be Ghost's civilian girlfriend. And no, she has nothing to do with my main timeline, so there won't be anything related to her on my post about the Specters.
I'll leave this programed and then go to sleep. See ya!

Irene Sayre (friend)
Jayden/Cassandra Fisher (friend
Trivia
-Her main hobby is make flower arrangements, using many type of flowers. Sometimes Simon helps her, and he even has learned how to do some crowns.
-She loves cuddles and always hugs Simon when they are on their bed, she even plays with his hair when they are looking a movie. And she's the only one who'll ever see Simon all lovey-dovey and clingy, so anytime people says he's cold, scary or things like that, she cackles internally.
-When they visit her brother, she always plays with her nephew and niece while the rest talk calmly.
-She's the second oldest on the group, only Cassandra/Jayden is older than her. Irene and David always mock them because of it, but they love the little brats anyway.
-She tends to be explosive, it can be when she's excited or pissed off. Her reactions are usually effusive (read as: laughter when she's happy and ugly cry shen she's sad), except when she's furious (if she ignores you, then you really fucked it up).
Random quote
"Are you saying that Ghost is scary and cruel? That Ghost? If...you say so, I guess" -talking with a random rookie (who got punished later by said Lieutenant)
When and how met their partner?
She met Simon through a dates app, to be honest she was intrigued because his profile just said basic things (no likes, hobbies and what not) and his photo was him with the baclava. They went to the African Art National Museum and walked for a while in silence, until, when they saw an object from the expo, Ghost commented a non-classified anecdote about a mission in Africa where he learned a bit about their ancient cultures. It called Sam's attention, and they started a conversation, more like Sam asked many things and Ghost answered.
Also, she wasn't exactly stingy with the compliments, admired to find out thar her date knew such interest things. Then she found out about Simon's shyness when it comes to compliments outside of work, because he was blushed and a bit nervous down the mask he was using (he'll deny it all his life, tho). And when the date finished, she was the one to ask him for a second date the next time he had a free day, to which he happily agreed.
And from there, it's history as well.

April 15th 1924 saw the birth of Rikki Fulton.
Robert Kerr “Rikki” Fulton was a Scottish comedian and actor best remembered for writing and performing in the long-running BBC Scotland sketch show, Scotch and Wry.
The youngest of three brothers, Robert was born into a non-theatrical family at 46 Appin Road, Dennistoun, Glasgow. Fulton completed his education in 1939 and decided to enter the world of acting after a backstage visit at the Glasgow Pavilion Theatre. In 1941, aged 17, Fulton joined the Royal Navy. The following year he was posted to HMS Ibis, but that November the ship was sunk in the Bay of Algiers. Fulton’s death sparked numerous dedications in his memory. The then-BBC Scotland Controller, John McCormick, said “he [Fulton] was a legend for people across the whole country.”
Fulton’s funeral took place six days after his death. In tribute to his Scotch and Wry character Supercop (a police traffic officer), police motorcyclists escorted the funeral cortège as it made its way to Clydebank Crematorium. Let the WIP Games begin! :3
Thank you to @temporary-enthusiasm for the tag 😀
rules: reveal the titles of the documents in your wip folder and tag as many people as there are documents. Let others ask questions about the ones that interest them and post snippets or explain the contents as you see fit!
Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, I have soooo many WiPs I’m not gonna be able to tag as many people on here. XD It’s not even a humble brag, I’m just a mess of a 40-year-old with too many ideas and not enough time to put them all down in writing. But I’m working on it! One idea at a time. :3 So bear with me, everyone. Moar HankCon (and other pairings) will be in all our futures.
The Kamski Experience - When a team of struggling documentary filmmakers get an invitation to the secret location of Elijah Kamski's newest stab at hospitality, they expect an exclusive peek into the mind of the reclusive genius.
But when the work weekend turns into a deadly game of chess with a masked serial killer, they must each pass a personally customized death trap in order to escape - or die trying.
Wayfarer - AU take on the movie Passengers, but if it were a thriller and the main character and love interest were more equal partners right from the start.
When You’re a Stranger - AU take on the movie Deliver us Fom Evil, in which Connor is a homicide investigator with a psychic streak, and Hank is a (derobed) Lutheran priest now working as freelancing exorcist.
Heart/Soul - set five months after the end of the game. Starting with Connor taking a leap of faith on stage, declaring his love for Hank with an old power ballad from the '80s.
Monochromat - a story set a few months after my first massive HankCon fic, Metamorph; When androids first start disappearing for no apparent reason, there’s no obvious signs of foul play, but then android bodies start showing up all over Detroit. Android life and death semantics aside, it would seem there is a serial killer on the prowl.
Then, to make matters worse, one of the original leaders of Jericho suddenly goes missing without a word. Hank and Connors Mark I and II find themselves racing against the clock, with too much evidence and too little time.
Gambit - another what-if kind of fic branching off a chapter of Metamorph.
... ... ...
And then there are the ones I haven’t even started posting yet. >_>
DBH x Dragon Age Inquisition AU, in which Hank is a former Templar and Connor is a mage on the run. Set right after the botched Conclave.
Mr Stern’s Criminal Conundrums - a silly, fun Ms Fisher’s Murder Mysteries AU in which the honorable Mr Connor Stern is an elegant bachelor by day and all-out flapper fabulosity at night. Solving crime and making men swoon all hours of the live-long day. His ever present adversary-cum-ally is Lieutenant Hank Anderson, who doesn't need this kitten heel/fancy frock BS in his life (but secretly loves it).
Plotbunny Hank/60: At CyberLife Tower, Hank shoots the wrong Connor and completely breaks down. As a direct result, Connor-60 begins questioning everything he thought he knew.
Runaway Man - A The Fugitive (movie) AU, in which Hank is wrongfully accused of killing his ex, and Connor is tasked with hunting him down.
The Mummy AU - with Librarian!Connor and Pilot!Hank tracking down an ancient ruin to retrieve an heirloom of Hank’s (or something far, far worse ;) ). Something he lost a veritable lifetime ago. Featuring ridiculously rich Elijah Kamski headed to the same ancient site in order to find something far more interesting - an artifact promising eternal life; and the Jericho Four as a gang of troublemakers who may or may not be out for the same thing (or just stopping Kamski). Everyone has secrets, and nobody’s safe from whatever lies waiting in the depths of the ruin.
I have woefully neglected two raffle fics I started as well, but more on them in a different post. <3
Last but not least, I have a whole sentence of a PWP that never went anywhere (yet): “One of Connor’s favorite things to do in the bedroom, was watching Hank fuck himself using one of his dildos.”
I TAG EVERYONE WHO FEELS THUS INCLINED LOVE YA! <3<3<3<3<3
