Q: Why the pyramid for the Alive 2006/2007 shows?

Thomas: The pyramid has become a symbol because, geometrically, harmonically, it’s a magical, occult, mysterious object. There is also this mysterious and occult, on the verge of paranormal, power in music. No one can really theorize about the effects of music on the body and mind, so it’s incredible. We just try to pass on that magic in a rather empirical way.

Guy-Man: We put a pyramid on stage because we think it’s cool, and it makes everyone trip out.

Make you even a little uncomfortable? Block

You disagree on something that, maybe your generally ok with disagreers, but they seem extreme or it comes up often? Block

Seem annoying? Block

Claims to be supportive/unsupportive of something but suspicious/reblogs dog whistles n shit? Block

Constantly dming you and you didn't sign up for that? Block

Doesn't respect your boundaries? Block

Not blank blog but has no views or anyway to tell if they break your DNI? Block

Mutuals with someone who breaks your DNI? Block

Constantly passive aggressive to others they dislike, even if it's not towards you? Block

Overly aggressive/violent towards those who are on both your dnis? Block

Immature to a degree that's just silently pissing you off? Block

Lies to you, even if it's innocuous? Block

Neutral on an issue that either has no moral neutral stance/shows compliance with serious issues/you feel strongly about it? Block

Have an extreme view of something you agree with but they support aspects you don't? Block

Seem chronically online and your not with that hyper vigilant crap? Block

Not getting your social signals that one or two dms/asks is not a contract for 6 to 10 to 50 a day? Block

They seem fine but their vibes are atrocious? Block

Wether you've been friends/mutuals for 6 days, 6 months or 6 years, you don't owe someone your space and content. Your blog is your space, you make it what it is, you decide what's on it. DNI violation and personal harassment is not the only valid reason to block someone. If you find yourself waiting and searching for a reason to block someone, just waiting for them to slip up again, just block them and be done with it. One small reason is reason enough. One suspicion is reason enough.

I've blocked people for supporting the same shit I have but being annoying or performative about it. I've blocked people cause I found one word on their whole blog thats only used by proshippers. I've blocked people for being part of a fandom I know is toxic and them showing signs of being on the toxic side. Any small reason is enough and you don't owe that person "the chance to change/prove themselves". Not on the Internet. This isnt a parent or long time irl friend, this could be a person you dm daily or a person who liked a single one of your posts.

I'm tired of the social expectation that I should have at least 3 reasons to be able to block someone or a clear violation of boundaries. If you have bad vibes, I don't have to let you prove yourself or interact with me or my content. Yeah, it's nice to have the reasons but you don't have to have them. This applies to even irl interactions. So much weird shit I've been argued with about on places like tiktok or twitter have been benefited from me just saying, quoting a popular post from here " your either not having this convo in good faith or your world view is so warped from reality that there are days worth of things you'd have to unlearn for us to understand each other. This is pointless so it is here we must part" and a swift block in the ass.

Yeah, socially it's nice to keep contact with that one ex-coworker who never seemed to understand you two aren't friends, just acquaintances but the reality is there is no actual reason to keep that contact. That doesn't excuse yelling at them or insulting them or anything but they aren't entitled to your time and attention. Your not friends, slowly but gracefully, cut them off. Online people are not any different. I don't owe you conversation or attention or anything other than basic human respect. I also owe myself respect and if your constantly disrespecting me, even if unintentionally, I have the right to enact the consequences and block.

is it more rude to let the customer tell an entire two minute long story before informing them you're the wrong person and they need to speak to someone else, or is it more rude to interrupt the customer at the start and tell them they need to speak to another department?

the answer is both, neither, and either. if you work in customer service you need to form a judgement of the person in 10 seconds and make your call. choose wisely.

#my first thought was of course it's rude to interrupt people i'm not going to do that #but the evidence shows #some people will say you've just wasted their time if you don't cut them off at the beginning and say you're the wrong person #which is a fair call too. i get that.#it really does depend on the person #some people are happy to tell a whole story only to be told you're the wrong person BUT you can put them onto the right people #some people will wring your neck if you let them talk #some people will be pissed if you interrupt them #some people will be like oh cool thanks for letting me know! transfer me through :)#problem is people rarely ever give you a one sentence overview. they like to get into the story.#so there's no chance for polite redirection ever slfjskdfhsdf #so ultimately. you gotta decide in the first 10 seconds. would they prefer i cut them off or let them talk for a minute+#and man. am i not an expert at making that call.

and the groups are very different! i knew that there would be some non-representative factors with such a small sample size, but i kinda forgor that psych students have a bit too much empathy to like seeing people in pain so all my sadism results were wayyy too low to be representative. so i came here and now my stuff is much more even. i wonder if the psych group really is so non-sadist and (sort of) non-masochistic (they are more partial to masochism but not nearly as much as the tumblr group) or if it's bc my questions were so face-valid and there's a stigma around sadism and masochism, esp bc some psych students have a bit of a purity/need to be morally right/etc complex. which i think could be fair. i talked to someone about it and they told me that maybe they're normal but ehhhh could be could not who knows

i wanna smoke weed so bad but our house is literally across the street from a church thats in full session right now and i dont want a bunch of church goers and their kids smelling the smoke id feel so bad 😭 but damn i wanna smoke weed

#living next door to a church is interesting #every 15 minutes these church bells go off i guess to let the neighborhood know that 15 minutes have passed #at 11:45 every day they play this song over their intercoms for the neighborhood to hear #it is im not kidding 10 entire minutes of bells ringing in a pleasant tune #TEN MINUTES. it doesnt sound bad and tbh you cant even hear it when youre inside w the tv on #its just funny to me like why does it play for ten minutes straight #im a devout atheist but even i am not immune to the pleasant sound of a bell #actually the bell that rings in 15 min intervals sounds exactly like the song my grandmother’s old clock would play every hour #it was this cool antique grandfather clock. i barely remember it bc she died when i was very young but i remember that sound #kinda nostalgic tbh. you win this round church #still a devout atheist though
