Big Mama led her own army of yokai to protect the Hidden City. It worked for a while, but eventually the Kraang found them and overpowered their forces. Big Mama came to us, and with her, she brought what was left of her army. They integrated into the resistance, and our combined power was incredible... It kept us alive a lot longer than we would've been otherwise..

Ichi was part of that army. He was a fighter- a front runner. We were maybe 20 when we met. I wasn't leader of the resistance yet, me and my brothers were just tanks for the human fighters to hide behind.

Anyway, ig we had a kind of.. playful rivalry? And we became friends pretty fast. And then eventually we started going out.. and then we got married. I believe we officiated it when we were.. 27?

Ichi was 32 when he died. We were together for 8 years..

RANT INCOMING: (TW bug abuse)

Actually so gross how people are so quick to go for cockroach owners. You tell someone you have a cockroach and you just have to accept the fact that you're gonna get responses telling you to kill it, step on it, eat it, or otherwise harm it, and if they're not telling you to do that to your roach they'll joke (Hopefully its a joke) about doing it themselves. Literally ever since I was a little kid I've had to deal with this CONSTANTLY and it's so annoying. Nobody says this shit when you have a cat or a dog, but the second it's a rat or GOD FORBID a harmless insect, suddenly you and your pet are both disgusting and deserve to die horribly.

I wish people weren't so conditioned to just hate any and all bugs because I KNOW it's all influence from other people. I grew up with my mother showing me that bugs are interesting and that they're harmless and to treat them gently and with respect and so I never feared them and would spend my breaks in school seeking them out. In primary school I got into roughly at least 3 physical fights every week against groups of boys and sometimes even other girls who would try to kill or torture the bugs just to fuck with me. They even went after a frog once.

And all my childhood I was the gross and weird one for taking interest in the bugs, but I always thought they were gross and weird for wanting to torture bugs that literally never harmed anyone. And the teachers would take their sides. I'd get in trouble for punching/kicking/biting the boys in the fights but the boys themselves wouldn't even get questioned on why they were torturing bugs to play with my emotions, all because they KNEW it would get me upset and give them someone to fight. (And because they liked to laugh at me for the way I fought, I would bite and scratch more than kick or punch and they thought that was peak entertainment)

And even now, people still treat me like I'm somehow gross for keeping bugs. I just wish less people were raised with the idea that bugs are gross or scary because most of the time they're absolutely not. I'm lucky now to have a few friends who are supportive of my interests and even have grown fond of Kolchek, but the way I grew up really just showed me how awful people think they can be to someone just because we like bugs, and how easy it is for them to get away with it or be seen as being "right" in those situations.

Sorry for dumping all this here but I just REALLY needed to get into words how annoying it's been all my life to be surrounded by people who love to hate me and the bugs I care for.

When I was a child, I made my Barbies kiss with the reasoning that I had no Ken doll so one doll was often assigned Vaguely Masculine But Still A Woman aaand... I don't know, five year old me was on to something there. She knew something. When I finally got a Ken doll, I just made him clothes out of cellophane and that was about it.

the fire nation royal academy for girls or whatever it’s called is such a funny piece of lore to me. like it’s simultaneously a posh girls’ finishing school and a brutal military academy. misogyny boot camp and also regular boot camp. and also it’s middle school. no wonder azula mai and ty lee are so tight, their friendship was forged in the (literal) flames of the hell they endured together.

I just found maybe the best lining up of events ever and perhaps even proof the Bulb is real:

I was rewatching the third episode of ACOC (as one does) where we have our first real interactions with Commander Grissini and at one point he says aloud the name Payment Day. For those not in the know, in Calorem it is believed that if one speaks the name of a weapon they are doomed to be slain by it. This is why all the Taste Buds' weapons have both a name and a title (e.g. Payment Day and The King's Sword, Flickerish and The Twizzling blade, Sour Scratch and The Puckering Bow, &c.), so that one might refer to a weapon without saying its name. I was immediately scandalised, of course. Doesn't Grissini know better? And to the king's face too! But then suddenly I had a thought. Could it be that the universe had lined up perfectly? That it found a way to bring the rules and magic of Calorem into our world to bring about the most beautiful of coincidences? That once again Brennan proved himself king of (accidental) foreshadowing? I race to investigate and lo and behold, in episode 17 "For Candia (part 2)", Commander Grissini is killed by King Amethar with The King's Sword, Payment Day.

"no, you."

another giggle. "oh? you think i'm cute?" he teases you, "i dunno... i think you're cuter."

(no one would guess that you've been dating for well over two years now. these are the things that happens when your boyfriend has decided it's been too long since he's teased you.)

"no, you." is all you can muster up again.

his eyes light up in delight, because he's already won. you know it, he knows it, yet you aren't going to say he won. you never do. "you can't uno reverse your way out of this one, my star-shine. you can't even speak right now, which i think says that you're cuter." he reaches out, gently bopping the tip of your nose. "so..."

"... no, you," you bury your face in your hands. "you're... you're cuter. stop."

his delighted evil giggles fill the air, "babyyy," he whines, "our milkshake is gonna melt."

"let it."

and he giggles again. "okay," he reaches out, taking your hands to peel them from your face. "i'll stop. you're just so easy to tease."

you take his hands, bringing his knuckles to your lips so you can plant a kiss against them. "thank you."

his eyes are still glimmering, though. "and that," he says, squishing your cheeks, "is why you're cuter."

Fursona history dump!!

Literally gonna dump a bunch of art of EVERY past fursona of mine I could find. Some of them seem to have had every piece of art erased from existence so RIP Snowrush </3 but anyway. All sonas under the cut.

-Scruffy (Wolf)

Scruffy was my first EVER sona. By that I mean I made him when I was like 6-7 and would roleplay as him 24/7, I literally convinced myself I WAS him. My friends called me Scruffy, I drew myself as Scruffy, I was Scruffy y'all. Wasn't until I was like 10 that I knew what a fursona was though, but he definitely was one. Anyway my friends and I called ourselves "the secret animals" at the time. The tiger and fox are two of them, and the cat is still my best friend to this day (she's a bunny now ofc but back then she was a black cat called Starlight) god I am getting nostalgic just typing this. Good times <3

-Alaska (Fox)

Alaska was my fursona for YEARS. I'm still attached to her bc she was the sona I had when I was getting really into the actual fandom. Online, people knew me as her. Technically she was a fox/wolf/hyena hybrid but primarily she was a fox so lets just call her that. She was blue because I watched a lot of Pocari Roo at the time. To this day, I think Alaska is still the sona I've kept for the longest and in general have the most art of, because other people would draw her at the time online.

-Moth (Fox)

All pieces except the first are by @bluedivvy

Moth was my reluctant break away from Alaska, when I was going through an identity crisis. They were still a fox because I wasn't ready to break FULLY away from that yet, but they also had an enfield form because literally why not. I liked Moth, thought they were cute but I didn't keep them for very long.

-Moth (Maned wolf)

Moth was literally just a test really. She kept the name of my last sona because I went by that name at the time and wanted to keep it for my sonas. She was a maned wolf bc I discovered that the animal was pretty similar to me, and I loved the way they looked, but I didn't keep either Moth for very long.

-Mulee (Mule deer)

I made Mulee when I was super obsessed with deer, especially mule deer, because at the time my daemon was near settling as one and I was filming some local deer for a school project. I loved Mulee, mainly because she felt more unique and distinct than my previous canine sonas, and also I LOVED her colours. That being said I was never really satisfied with her because I didn't feel like a deer fit me as an animal in the way canines and such did. Still, I had Mulee for a long time and loved her a lot.

-Corvix (Corsac fox)

Maned wolf in the second pic belongs to mungosaur

I was back on my fox bullshit with Corvix. I abandoned Mulee in favour of a canine eventually, and I went for a corsac fox. She was cute, I liked her, but I never got really attached to her as a sona. She was more of a temporary thing.

-Grizzlee (Bear)

Bird in the first one belongs to mungosaur, rabbit is my bestie obv

And that brings us to Grizzlee, my current sona and the first one since Alaska I've felt satisfied with. I went back to Mulee's colours for her as well, strayed away from canines for some variety, but didn't stray TOO far from canines. So pretty much I feel like I wanna make a suit of her bc she's my favourite and I'm glad I waited to find one I really liked.

Or what one of the lovely Nevermore Discord members called "NeverHorse" !! Rambling lore below the art :)

I'd imagine all specters translates to cutie marks, though with the right push and pull their special specters would be awakened!! (Lenore is obviously cutie-markless ofc) Though with the base, unicorn, earth pony, and Pegasus would relate to base personality, or hint at their specters. I feel like there would be special cases though were we have Monty's & Pluto's spectre would be permanent (physical appearance-wise) once awakened, where Monty's could be inspired by Lord Tirek, or Pluto being full cat or a hybrid of sorts! (Along w/ Berniece being half pony, half bat) And with Merry + Mourn being the exception, I feel like full on pony pants is a bit niche/looked down upon in the Academy, like you're hiding that your markless A bit more on Merry, Mourn the alicorn! every scene in the comic they seem to be together, so I was like... what if they spent so much time they sort of just fused? (Mourn would be pissed abt how annoying Merry is all the time atp) Plus the whole alicorn name technically doesn't apply with this design, but Mourn could just create magical wings or smth, so its a bit of a reliant system :-]
