Things I loved about "All of us are dead" in no particular order

Realistic portrayal of how teenagers would act during an apocalypse

Dumbass ideas but ingenious creativity

Ready to throw down at anytime

How the ugliest side of classism comes out during the midst of a crisis

The found family stays together and don't go their own ways after the disaster has been resolved.

The female friendships. The sibling relationships. The male friendships. It was so so well portrayed and so many good examples of how one should be.

The euphemism of using a Zombie Apocalypse to portray how society and elders and adults constantly let down the younger generation, leaving them to fend for themselves, ultimately leading to the new generation turning bitter. But ultimately the ones im power are either completely unaware of the consequences of their actions, or they do not care.

I don't know if I've said this before but one of the reason I love All of us are dead is how it shows the start of the outbreak.

Obviously there will be spoilers.

It starts slow. (But not so slow it's boring) We are given Patient Zero straight off the bat. Literally the first scene. Or rather who is patient zero by technicality- the son of the science teacher. But nothing happens. He gets shoved in a suitcase and while we were teased with the possibility that he breaks out and is the start of the outbreak, we learn much later Lee Byeong-Chan took his son home and he was locked up. The only person his son infected was his own mum...but she was also locked up immediately. So while he is patient zero in definition. I feel like if talking about how the outbreak started he is more of a red herring patient zero.

Instead it jumps into the school life. Normal wholesome slice of life shit (albeit some heavy stuff with the bullying) but no zombies. No outbreak. All is good.

But then we are teased again. Comments about Byeong-Chan smelling like a corpse ever since his son disappeared. As well as acting a little odd. However, there no real juice to it...but then Hyeon-Ju finds the rat in Byeong-Chan's store room and it bites her.

Then we're teased again as she is caught by Byeong-Chan. He sees she's been bitten and immediately shackles her to the radiator so outbreak averted yet again...until she breaks out, finds her classroom and is taken to nurses office and then. Then we see very quickly that Hyeon-Ju just became our real Patient Zero. Which to be honest I think is rare in a zombie show/movie. Usually Patient Zero is either never even a plot point or it's a matter of finding them. Here we're given it straight away.

It's still slow, which in a way, feels real. She gets taken to hospital and the school continues on as normal... Well people discuss but otherwise normal. Most haven't even got a clue.

But then suddenly it's not slow. Things go from 0-100 real fucking quick as the nurse...now full turned zombie bites someone else and suddenly in the chaos, things go to shit very very fast. And when I watched that happen for the first time I knew there and then I was going to enjoy the show. Because even as this chaos unfolds it jumps to other characters who despite being on school grounds have no fucking idea. And it just feels very realistic. Because even with social media n all that I don't think you'd find out that fast. I mean people outside of the area think it's a hoax when videos are uploaded. People are even pulling pranks about it.

I dunno. There just something about the show that felt very authentic which pulled me in alot. It also just had fresher takes like rather than just have news channels who have YouTube videos and even a streamer.

Not to mention that after COVID having people not believe it was even happening or think that it was no big deal felt very on point.

But I also just liked that the main focus were the students. Kids. (Don't get me wrong I liked Nam so-ju's plot) kids who aren't miraculously experienced in the outside world. Are still learning and growing.

Kids who have to grow up very fucking fast.
