YUNAH BACKGROUND

EARLY LIFE...ᐟ

Yunah was born in Seoul, South Korea to Hwa-Young, and So-han Hwang. Her older brother Hyunjin was very protective of her growing up, because she was bullied often, so they stuck together most of the time. She joined Gymnastics at 3 and continued until she was 16.

She was introduced to K-Pop in 2012 when she was 6 from seeing Girls Generation live performance on TV with her dad they were the first K-Pop group that she'd seen and after that she became a big fan of them, also when Twice debuted in 2015 her mom allowed her and Hyunjin to go to their debut stage. Both groups were also a huge inspiration to her. Her mom finally agreed to let her and Hyunjin become trainees in 2016 after they both were scouted on a walk home from school.

TRAINEE PERIOD...ᐟ

On July 28, 2016, she joined J.Y.P. Entertainment along side her brother. Once she joined the company she was very excited to be under the same company as Twice. She stayed there for 4 years before deciding to leave, due to rude staff and false debut dates, in total she had 6 debut dates, all which were false.

After she left J.Y.P. she stopped training for a few months and focused more time in Gymnastics, which she later quit when she was scouted by BigHit and at one of her gymnastics competition, which she accepted, where she later met Yunjin, Eunchae, Ri-ki (for a brief few months), Ruka, and Garam, they were all friends, she was especially close to Eunchae and still is.

She slowly became one of the top trainees, which stressed her out a lot, because she was always known around the company as Hyunjin's sister, which she hated because she felt like that's all people saw her as, his shadow, nobody saw her real talents, just her title. But soon they started giving her opportunities, she was even given the chance to be Enhypen's only female member, but she declined that, because she felt like she wouldn't be comfortable around 7 boys all the time, and if she didn't accept being Le Sserafim's new member she was going to be a contestant on R U NEXT, but with Garam's absence from Le Sserafim, she decided to debut as the new member.

AFTER DEBUT...ᐟ

She debuted in 2022 of September, as the new 6th member of Le Sserafim under Source Music with the stage name Yunah (윤아). The public reaction to her debut was ok, many people thought she was using her brother fame to get famous, while some fell in love with her introverted personality and kindness, most thought she had no talent and criticized her, but after a while she started gaining more and more fans and now she's one of the most biased members of Le Sserafim.

They also compare a lot of the things she does to Hyunjin saying they are really alike.
