Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has mocked Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert after she claimed she had her third son because birth control was too expensive.
“I left a prescription at a pharmacy once. I went to get birth control,” she said during a hearing on Tuesday 23 May. “I was there at the counter, went to pay for it, and the price was very, very high. I said wow, is this a three-, six-month prescription? They said, no ma’am, this is one month. I said it’s chapter to have a kid. And I left it there, and now I have my third son, Kaydon Boebert, and so it actually turned out to be a really great thing.”
The Democratic congresswoman took issue with the story, noting how Ms. Boebert had voted against legislation that would help ensure wider access to contraception.
“And then she voted against the right to contraception so she could double this problem and give it to the next person,” she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
Tumblr media
Last year, Ms. Boebert, alongside most of the House GOP, voted against the Right to Contraception Act, which would’ve enshrined the right to contraception in federal law.
Rep. Kathy Castor of Florida, one of the bill’s sponsors, said the bill was important as women are facing "a perilous time, where an extremist Supreme Court and the GOP are rolling back our rights."
Democratic lawmakers rallied around the bill after US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas suggested in a concurring opinion to the decision overturning Roe v Wade that the high court should revisit 1965’s Griswold v Connecticut, which forbids states from banning contraception.
“Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous’... we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents,” Justice Thomas wrote. “The question would remain whether other constitutional provisions guarantee the myriad rights that our substantive due process cases have generated.”
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, a majority of women between ages 18 to 64 have used contraception at some point during their reproductive years, with more than three-quarters using multiple methods.
Under the Affordable Care Act, contraceptive coverage is required, though KFF found in 2022 that 4 in 10 women weren’t aware most insurance plans pay the full cost of birth control.

Wild enough of a story that it might actually be true.
And if it is true—this part is important—absolutely no one should be shaming her for sex work or for having abortions! Feel hella free to call out the obvious hypocrisy, though.
It’s deeply hypocritical and that hypocrisy is very much on-brand for Republicans, but abortion and sex workers aren’t the “bad” parts. The bad part is that the GOP and Boebart are trying to take the freedom to make those same choices away from other women.

At this rate, Lauren Boebert will become a great-grandmother at 53.
Congratulations to Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert who is becoming a grandma at the tender age of 36. Speaking at a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Moms for America event on Tuesday, the Colorado congresswoman shared the news that her 17-year-old son is expecting a baby with his teenage girlfriend in April.
Boebert is famous for her far-right views and for stunts like putting out an advert explaining why she’s going to carry a gun in Congress. In 2021 she also posted an infamous Christmas card photo of her four sons, two of whom are very young, brandishing rifles in front of a Christmas tree. She is, in short, an incorrigible attention-seeker who spends more time stoking culture wars than she does producing legislation.
Republicans used to be shocked by out-of-wedlock births. But that’s when they were more common among black people. Now white supremacists, worried about the so called “great replacement theory” and “population collapse” (meaning white population), are cranking out more babies regardless of marital status.
Speaking at the CPAC event, the extremely anti-abortion Boebert said that her biggest fear was whether her son and his partner “would choose life”. When they did, she was so proud that she decided to turn them into a parable about rural family values.
“There’s something special about rural conservative communities,” Boebert effused. “They value life. If you look at teen pregnancy rates throughout the nation, well, they’re the same, [in] rural and urban areas. However, abortion rates are higher in urban areas. Teen moms’ rates are higher in rural conservative areas, because they understand the preciousness of a life that it’s about to be born.”
Well, perhaps that’s one reason teenage mothers are more prevalent in rural areas. Perhaps another reason is that the teenage girls are unable to access a safe and legal abortion and are forced to give birth when they’re unprepared to be parents.
I would gently offer the suggestion that Democrats need to devote more attention to rural areas. Routinely ceding these places to Republicans or campaigning on issues solely designed to appeal to the urban and suburban base will only continue the trend of unrepresentative government which leads to GOP control even though Republicans make up a minority of voters.
Access to abortion is one way to reduce teenage pregnancies. Quality sexual health education in schools is another. Boebert, of course, is against both. At another CPAC event, Boebert said she wants to cut funding for “comprehensive sex ed”, stating it shouldn’t be taught to “any student in a public school”. She’s obviously not the only Republican with this view, conservatives have been increasingly attacking sexual education in schools in recent years and pushing abstinence-only programs. It won’t surprise you to hear that a wealth of evidence shows that abstinence-only programs don’t work. Rather, they’re a great way to generate a lot more 36-year-old grandmothers.
With more effort and attention to CO-03, perhaps Dems can flip the district in 2024 and thereby allow Lauren Boebert to spend more time at home with the grandkids. So vote Democratic for family values!

Rate your favorite ND female characters
Hey question asker! Thanks for asking. It's been long since somebody asked me. I never thought about this question because I solely love Kurt Hummel only with Blaine, Puck, Mike and such. I actually have no ranking for girls as well as boys. But let's see.
In order to get myself away from less trouble, let me rank it in s1-3 and then s4-s6
1.Tina Cohen Queen Chang
Tumblr media
She has more plus for me than minus. I am not saying because I am an asian myself but she takes the cake. She sings well(underrated girl), she dances well(they put her in grp A:Better dancers in "Ice Ice Baby") and she is an unsung hero: sewing costumes for and members. She accepted many things without a say. I can feel her emotions.
2.Mercedes Jones
Tumblr media
She is a less problematic character. Her smile is just out of the world. She just wonna sing and succeed in her life. I am glad she didn't end up with anybody because she showed me that it's okay to be without a partner. Sometimes, solitude let's you achieve more. I am subjective about her voice but Human nature is my favourite. Her duo with Kurt lit up my screen in early seasons. I didn't like her in Troubletones. It brought worst of everybody.
3. Quinn Fabray
Tumblr media
This is somewhat unpopular now. But I prefer her. She started as a normal high school cheerleading head with head weight and had almost everything she wanted. But once she got pregnant, the harsh reality of life hit her life rock. She was pulled down many times after a development but she was a work in process. She learnt that there was life after high school. And she sticking with nd in s3 after Troubletone was formed warmed my heart.
Also, she is one of my favourite voices. She"?'s got stage presence.
I am going to kill myself for ranking these people after this. They had good moments but I disliked them some times.
4. Santana Lopez
Tumblr media
She is really ,"darling, I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream". She is Charming, hot (yes, I'll admit) but she was a little Satan. But I survived the NYC plot because of Kurt and her. Until that famous funny girl fight came.
Her rants were okay sometimes, but it got worse in later seasons. She started to rant just because she wanted too. But she was a better friend. She is one of the people who will be like," I can roast my friends like barbeque but I can only roast."
And anybody who says Kurt cried for unnecessary reasons, think of this girl who cried for cutting tanning privileges and for calling out she was mean.
Her voice is subjective too for me.
5. Lauren Zizes
Tumblr media
She was nice addition to nd when Kurt left. Plus, Ashley Fink has good comedic timing and is charming. I love her attitude where she didn't give 2 shit about what other people said but she lowkey was a bully too.
Her voice isn't for singing but she is entertaining.
6.Rachel Berry
Tumblr media
Her whole character started as somebody who will do anything to achiever her cake. I didn't care about her most of the times but she she really got on my nerves in later seasons. I felt like slapping her multiple times. She doesn't want to listen to anybody, she sent a person to a crack house just because she was threatened, she threw many people under the bus for no reason. She is one of the worse dancers too.
She was annoying downright at nyada and successses were served in her plate. I know she was work g hard but she had to let her work speak, not her mouth. I still can't digest that Rachel kept pestering Carmen when Kurt waited patiently. He did go to Carmen for second chance, but at least he did his first audition better, and he took effort to make a video tape if him singing another song(wake me up before you go go in acoustic version is pretty questionable though).
I was so happy that her tv pilot failed and she became slightly better. Also confusing your boyfriend about his career when he was already confused just so he could be with you?Nope for me.
I do t know how people love her and hate Kurt.
Her songs are totally subjective .
7. Brittany S. Pierce
Tumblr media
I don't like her for some reason. She was bland for me. Not interesting. And I don't care for Brittana. Also she posted a sex tape of herself and girlfriend and got away. She kept dating people, she didn't have a stable mind on loving people. Also, her lines were sometimes hilarious but they were insulting.
9. Sugar Motta
Tumblr media
Sugar Motta was... There. That's it. She was just a cash cow. She was funny sometimes but she is not for me.
Now for s4-s6
1. Unique Addams
Tumblr media
The love child of Kurt and Mercedes. I liked her among later season nd members. She is a diva but she didn't throw people under her bus. Much like Kurt. I like her voice. I didn't like her catfishing but she was ok.
2. Tina Cohen Chang
Her explanation suits her too and I agree her on being bossy because putting up with a glee club for 3 seasons and when it's her senior year, she gotta enjoy and have her privilege. Her crush on Blaine was creepy but I understand. That's it.
3. Madison Mccarthy
Tumblr media
She was an adorable munchkin. She was a supportive twin, I liked her energy. Wish we got her more.
4. Jane Hayward
Unfortunately Tumblr doesn't allow more than 10 pics.
I didn't care about her. She was okay.
5. Marley Rose
She was nice. She had great voice. She had sympathetic story. But I have nothing special about her
6. Kitty Wilde.
She was annoying to an extent. But she was better in s6.
That's it, folks. I had a nerve wrecking fun type. Thank you for making me think.
And oh, you can expect my 3rd Valentine one shot by tomorrow :)
See you then. I don't mean to trigger anybody. These are my personal opinion.

"I just started thinking, this is going to be so much bigger than just repealing abortion. This is going to become a huge a problem. I had a mother of a young teenager tell me that her daughter had asked her if she should go on birth control because she was afraid that if she were raped that she could become impregnated and she would not be able to access an abortion. I was so appalled and horrified and broken when this mom said that to me," Dr. Lauren Beene, Ohio Physicians for Reproductive Rights co-founder, said.

A nice succinct summary. And when Justice Thomas, with his white wife, is no longer with us, will SCOTUS decide that Loving v. Virginia is also one of those "demonstrably erroneous decisions"? Stay tuned...
