korean fancast of 'my fair lady/pygmalion', starring bae doona and shin hakyun.

because those two are my favourite korean actor/actress

it started with mr shin obv

then i thought abt who could be his eliza

when i tell you i'm not good with the 90s born k-actors

i thought of kim go-eun who was injoo in 작은 아씨들/little women

but she was also mr shin's ex girlfriend - i dont think that's a good idea😅 however possible the pairing may be

so i chose my favourite k-actress hehe

ms bae who looks down-to-earth yet graceful at the same time

like gosh the photshoots she slayed

i mean ms hepburn was 35(ish?) when she did mfl

and i also thought if eliza was a much older woman than in the play or the musical

the closer gap between her and henry will be an interesting take

and ms bae and mr shin are only five years apart

(we need to find a nice old gentleman to play the colonel but later in that...)

as an international admirer of k-culture and korean language student, i offer satoori

(watching "our blues" was the experience in jeju satoori)

mr shin have that saccharine, impish way of smiling that will suit the professor

where he bought her a jade ring - that's why the picture is up there

i wonder if a modern setting will work

on one hand imagine all the snacks they wrangle pronounciations over

big strawberries and grapes (the professor approves of it, on its own or in sponge cakes)

and convenience store snacks (she eats peppero and cup ramen to spite him)

on the other hand, the gender perception in korea will make the professor more dislikeable?

one can imagine how the post ball scene will go down

Batfam Fancast Part 14: Outlaws

Its been a while since I made this Tumblr and wondered if I should finalized some older fancast I made. Specifically Jason Todd who a made a list of actors instead of choosing 1. So I thought it would be a nice idea to finalize who gets to play Jason Todd while casting two of his teammates in the Outlaws, Roy Harper aka Speedy/Arsenal/Red Arrow and Artemis of Bana-Mighdall (Still don't know how to pronounce that).

Jason Todd

Its time to finalize the fancast I made years ago. No need to really elaborate since I talked about this before, Alex Landi has become my final choice for Jason Todd. The Korean-Italian American has the build, the looks and with his current work in Grey's Anotomy, I definetly think he has the potential for the former Boy Wonder.

Roy Harper

For Green Arrow's own protege I wanted someone who can bring that same rugged energy that Jason Todd brought.someone who's been though stuff but is able to overcome their personal challenges. The actor must be old enough where its possible they became a parent when he was a teen.His daughter Lian Harper is a extremely important character in his story and sadly became an afterthought when they rebooted him in 2011 during the New 52.

Jake Austin Walker is 25, fits the look of the character and has worked in a previous DC project Stargirl.This actor just might have what it takes to play the Crimson Archer.

Artemis of Bana-Mighdall

The mysterious Artemis, no not the one from Young Justice. A fellow Amazon of the Bana-Mighdall tribe,who traveled to ancient Egypt from Greece, she is the apex warrior without the need of godly powers like Wonder Woman. Before her reappearance in Rebirth she was once a major side character that eventually took on the role of Wonder Woman. Practical, stubborn and passionate she found herself in the company of the Red Hood and reformed the Outlaws with him and even forming a romantic connection with him. He loved the kind of woman that will actually kill him.

Adria Arjona is known for a plethora of roles in major shows like Andor and actions movies such as 6 Underground. While not popularly known for any major action her time as a drama actor will bring depth and layers to this action-oriented character. While I originally considered casting wrestlers to play this role, it will be like rolling dice and most of the time you're going to lose. For every Dave Bautista there is Rock can only play himself or a John Cena who really needs the right director to help him out. Adria however has the skill and experience to perform this character, give her some intense stunt training and she has the potential to ace this role.

re: the LA adaptation + anime

heard on the grapevine that there could potentially be an animated adaptation announcement next year (at least, that's what the author had teased + kr fandom had speculated). naver webtoon seems to be going through an expansion recently by acquiring a few local animation studios so that in addition to studio lico (the studio in charge of the hsgh manhwa and main animation studio for alien stage)'s own in-house animation department, it's also super likely that the possible anime would be locally made! (unlike solo-leveling, which was being done by A-1 pictures)

an LA adaptation doesn't seem to be something that might happen any time soon (and given the orv kr and intl fandom's reaction to the live action orv movie casting, it doesn't seem too hopeful really!) + the whole potential discourse that follows with having a korean drama of a (technically) chinese-setting work, even if the og work is korean... best avoid that can of worms for now!

(though for me personally my fancast for a live action jo gul is ok taecyeon from 2pm LOL he was literally the first person that came to my mind when i first started reading the manhwa. they just look so alike it's crazy)

OHHH IS THAT SO...i swear i remember seeing fans speculating on an upcoming anime based off some things that were mentioned by the studio lico rotmhs team in an interview not that long ago so i definitely know that an anime is on the table, though when it will be announced and released... who knows..its only a matter of time..... i also noticed the acquirement of animation studios what with all the amv osts theyve been pumping out lately ..every time a new one drops ive been just rubbing my hands knowing that anime announcement is on the horizon and yeasss im definitely rooting for a locally done animated series cuz what they did w solo leveling was so sick oh my god i genuinely dont even want to think about it⬆️⬆️⬆️

i was never too hopeful for a live action, ive never really been into them in the first place tbh and ur right about the discourse surrounding it, it just sounds like too much trouble to even consider it at the moment.... the way yallre listing these fully grown adult actors for some of these characters who're jsut supposed to be younger teenagers in debut is making me giggle a little tho.. looked up ok taecyeon and imagining that guy pretending to be 17 yo baby faced s1 jo gul just made me laugh out loud.. ikwym though i suppose i can see it also

My TLC fancast 💅

Reine Hardesty as Linh Cinder (Princess Selene)

Reine is 25 years old, 5’4 and Mixed (japenese/white if I’m not mistaken). She’s a little short but I’d totally cast her for Cinder.

Lee Do Hyun as Kai

Lee Do Hyun is 26 years old, 6’0 tall and South Korean. He can speak English as well, and has played in many k-dramas so perfect for Kai<3

Josh Heuston as Ze’ev Kesley (Wolf)

Josh Heuston (credits to @greenalmond for showing him to me) is 5’10, (ik he’s rly short for wolf but shut up <3) he’s Anglo Sri Lanken (middle-eastern, off the coast of India) and he’s 25 years old. AGH I LOVE HIM GOOD WORK VI

Sophie Turner as Scarlet Benoit

Sophie is British, 25 year old, and 5’9. She’d have to put on a French accent and dye her hair red again (currently bleached blonde) but otherwise perfect <3

Kiernan Shipka as Cress Darnel

Kiernan is bohemian/Czech and Irish and she is 22, and 5’2. I love her voice and she’s just so good for cress so here you go

Froy Guterriez as Carswell Thorne

Froy is 23 years old, of Mexican descent, and 5’10. Grow some stubble and he’s the embodiment of Thorne so 😌

Luke Eisner as Jacin Clay

Again creds to @greenalmond again for showing me him <33 Luke is American, 6’2, and 25 years old. He has pretty much everything jacin does except a smaller nose than him but oh well I still love him <3

Amandla Stenburg or Ryan Destiny as Winter Hayle-Blackburn

Amandla is 5’3, 23 years old, and of African American and Inuit descent. They’re a little short for the character, but so good looking and perfect for winter imo they’re also a rly good actor and played the protagonist of “the Hate U Give”

Ryan is 26, 5’5, and 3/4 Black. Extremely pretty and closer to winter’s height tbh I’d be happy with either of these <3

Lovie Simone as Iko

Lovie is 5’6, 23 years old, her mother is African American and her father is from Ghana. She is absolutely perfect for Iko and I will be taking no criticism on her or her beautiful smile <3333

New Yandere, Whump, and Dark Shipping Blog: Requests FAQ

Hey! So before I start writing and creating, I thought I'd get some common questions answered and out of the way! If you are concerned about your request or are unsure of its content, please first check this post before directly messaging me.

Request Content

Q: What kinds of requests do you fill?

A: I will fill almost any type of request! But here are some specific options with set structures and examples.

Headcanon Requests (bulleted, length depending on ask, ex: "Can I get headcanons for Requested Character with a short girlfriend?")

Scenario Requests (bulleted, LDOA, ex: "Can I get a scenario for if Requested Ship were getting married?")

Drabble Requests (prose, LDOA, ex: "Can I request a drabble about RC being worried when their darling is sick?")

Playlist Requests (list of songs, 1-5 song limit, ex: "Do you have 4 songs for a jealous RC?")

Graphic Requests (edit style, 1-4 images, ex: "Could you make a graphic for yandere RC with this item or quote?")

Aesthetic Requests (moodboard style, image with 6-9 sections, ex: "Can I get an aesthetic for dark!RS?")

Prompt Requests (list of brainstormed dialogue and short sentences, LDOA, ex: "Do you have dialogue prompts for RC kidnapping their darling?")

Plot Bunny Requests (short prose paragraphs or bulleted, LDOA, ex: "I want to write about yandere RC surprising their darling but don't know how or why. Are there are any plot bunnies you can give me?").

New! RP Idea Requests (selection of 1-4 short rp-style bios/plots/starters, LDOA, ex: "Do you have any yandere rp ideas for Requested Fandom ocs?")

New! Fancast Requests (moodboard or edit style, 2-9 images per RC/RS, ex: "Who would you cast as yandere RC(s)?")

New! Faceclaim Recommendation Requests (bulleted list of names with short explanations or reasons, LDOA, ex: "My yandere OC is tall, has dark hair, and soft features. He acts friendly but is the violent type. Can I have a few fcs?")

Requests that don't specify will be answered with a bulleted list or possibly a short paragraph. There may be times I'm willing to fill some requests but not others due to time constraints, but that doesn't mean I won't ever fill them!

Fandom requests involving AUs and crossovers are welcome (ex: "Headcanons of how yandere Naruto in a wild west AU?" or "Headcanons about what would happen if yandere Ten and yandere Crowley fell for the same person?"), as are original requests based on existing media (ex: "Can I get headcanons about a popular girl type who has a Breakfast Club experience and ends up going yandere for the criminal?" or "Can you write a drabble about a yandere whose story is like this music video?").

Q: What characters do you write for?

A: I'll write for any character that I am familiar with, with a few exceptions for characters I'm aware of but uncomfortable with. To get started, here's a list of fandoms that I have a solid handle on!

Anime (Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Death Note, Hetalia, etc.)

Western Animation (Archer, Castlevania, She-Ra: Princesses of Power, etc.)

DC and Marvel Comics

Star Wars (no New Trilogy - Originals, Prequels, Clone Wars, & Legends only)

Other Major Film Franchises (Pirates of the Caribbean, the MCU, James Bond, etc.)

Harry Potter and related properties

Percy Jackson and related properties

Hunger Games and related properties

Twilight and related properties

A Song of Ice and Fire (willing to try TV canon but much more familiar with Book canon)

Crime Dramas (Barry, Good Girls, Hannibal, Mr. Robot, Revenge, etc.)

Historical Drama (Vikings, The Tudors, Les Miserables, The Borgias, Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders, Taboo, etc.)

Science Fiction and Fantasy TV/Lit (Star Trek TOS/AOS; Doctor Who, New Who only; Merlin; Good Omens; Lucifer; Galavant, etc.)

Horror-Thriller TV/Lit (American Horror Story, The Haunting of Hill House, Hemlock Grove, Alias Grace, etc.)

Chinese and Korean Dramas (A Korean Odyssey/Hwayugi, Meteor Gardens, A Love So Beautiful, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, Romance Is a Bonus Book, My First First Love, Black, etc.)

Video Games (Assasain's Creed, Portal 2, Fire Emblem, AFK Arena, Professor Layton, etc.)

Something that's not here can still be requested - I'm familiar with a lot of media and do my best to keep up.

As I implied above, I am also happy to write for original characters. Whether that means you telling me about your own OCs, or me creating my own characters for you down the line, either is great.

I will NOT be writing RPF or RPS. I do not approve of real person shipping and real person fiction makes me uncomfortable - if that's what you're looking for, there are a huge number of other blogs that will cater to your needs directly. Which leads me into...

Prohibited Requests, and Non-Yandere Content

Q: Will you fill every request you get?

A: I'll fill requests that interest me and that I feel comfortable posting, and that will probably be most of them! I am really excited to get started. But I still reserve the right to refuse a prompt - I'm writing for free, so no one is entitled to have their ask filled. If I choose to deny your prompt, I will answer privately and, if the issue is with content, update the blog so it's made clear that the type of prompt is not taken.

Q: What is and isn't allowed to be requested?

A: To be honest, most stuff is allowed and some stuff isn't. There's a lot of ground to cover here, so I've divided it based on the nature of the concern.

Q: Do you accept NSFW/SFW requests?

A: I'll do NS and SFW work, but I've got more experience with SFW content. This doesn't mean I do it exclusively, just that I won't think to go NS unless you mention it. Specify for NS and it'll be included happily!

Q: Do you accept violent requests?

Violence against non-SO characters and dub-con is okay always, as is situational or over-the-top violence, even murder, involving SOs (ex: "the yandere and their darling are soldiers on opposite sides of the war" or "the yandere saws off their darling's legs so they have to carry them everywhere").

However, there is some tricky area with violent fantasies. If I think the content strays too close to serious physical domestic abuse, then I'll likely deny the request. This is partially why I prefer requests that get violent to focus on non-SO targets, so if it doesn't matter to you, that's almost guaranteed to get a response.

Non-con I can mention and discuss in headcanon posts and possibly prompt lists, but I will not be writing drabbles or scenarios for non-con prompts.

Q: Do you accept kink requests?

A: It will depend on the type and whether I feel morally and psychologically comfortable with it. For example, hypnosis, size kink, gender stuffing, BDSM, roleplay, etc., are all currently accepted because they don't seem to affect me in a negative way. I am willing to do ships for cousins and step family, as well. However, I will not under any circumstances deal with r*ceplay, p*dophilia, fetishizing of trans people or people of color, or inc*stplay, and I will not be doing ship work for anyone more closely related than cousins, including but not limited to siblings, parents (blood or adopted), or aunts and uncles. None of this is negotiable. I am willing to consider AUs where two characters aren't family, or non romantic yandere behavior between family, but even then, the request's on thin ice. Anything super unhygienic or illness related is probably something I won't be interested in not as a rule or for moral reasons but just because it can exacerbate my anxiety and OCD. I also do not fill prompts related to minors at all, be it explicit/adult/sexual content or otherwise. Requests for characters who are minors will have them aged up unless otherwise specified - in which case you will promptly be blocked.

Q: Can I request a dark imagine that is not yandere related?

A: Of course! Just make sure to be specific about what you want from it.

Q: Can I request a ship or character imagine that isn't yandere or dark?

A: Yes, though I won't promise it'll be what you're looking for. I fall towards horror, thriller, and angst when I write, regardless of my intentions.

Q: Can I request something that's not ship or character imagine related?

A: Sure, I'd be honored, but again, I don't promise to fulfill every request. This blog is intended to be stress relief, self indulgence.

How to Make a Request

Q: How do I contact you for requests?

A: Asks, messages, replies on my original posts, and even more casual things like tagging me in yandere or writing related posts are all great ways to interact with me!

Q: When do you accept requests?

A: Requests will be opened or closed depending on how busy I am and whether I'm caught up on them.

Currently, requests are closed. However, I've decided that requests are reopened on my days off. The days should be listed in my bio.

Q: Do you accept anonymous requests?

A: Yes, I do! I also will not publish asks from users unless the user specifically clarifies that they are okay with it, just in case the user sent the ask from their blog on accident. User asks that aren't specified as safe to publish will be responded to privately when the request is filled.

Q: How will I know my request is filled?

A: As stated above, anonymous asks and user asks clarified as safe to publish will be published with a response. User asks without any clarification will be responded to privately. Anonymous asks asking for privacy for any reason will not be published. Messages will also get a reply. Users who send requests that are kept private will not be tagged unless you ask me to. Users with published asks will always be tagged in the final post, but it is totally okay to ask me to change or erase the tag! Other than this, checking for posts is up to the requester.

Other Kinds of Interaction

Q: Is there anyone who you don't want interacting with your blog?

A: Anyone complicit in nazism, racism, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia, pedophilia/MAPs, or any other politicized violence against a people is uneqivocally not welcome to engage with my work. I also have a zero tolerance policy for true crime fans who support or absolve serial killers. Please respect this - anyone who doesn't will be blocked. Anyone who pushes the issue will be reported.

Q: What about kink or otherkin blogs?

A: Honestly, I don't know much about either community. As of now, I'm fine with interaction. I'd ask that I not receive any kin related requests, because I am not familiar with the concept, community, and issues accompanying. Kinks can be requested but as stated above, are not guaranteed to be filled. Please don't bring discourse or discourse related requests here. I am not equipped to or interested in getting involved. If that changes, I have a main and other side blogs. This blog will never be a place for it.

Q: Are you okay if we interact with you or send you asks and messages that aren't requests?

A: Absolutely! I would love to talk with you. I am always interested in discussing any of the topics covered on this blog, or anything else for that matter! I pride myself on trying to be not just nice, but kind, and hopefully that comes through in every interaction. However, I'll expect the same courtesy from anyone who'd reach out to me, or use my posts to communicate to others for that matter. Anyone who doesn't will be, you guessed it, blocked. Anyone who pursues it further, yeah, will be reported.

Q: You have a lot of rules about requests and interaction, but you don't seem to post much and you aren't very active. Is this all just awkward and formal overkill, or is there a point?

A: I've explained all of this clearly, in as an accessible way as I can think of, because I want to eliminate the potential for drama, confusion, and other misunderstandings.

Online communities tend to be chock-full of plenty and I do not, nor does anyone who visits, need another reason to be tired. I'm not detailing all of this upfront because I expect to be very popular, or because I like listening to myself talk for paragraphs on end. I don't want a theoretical lack of information to be used to hurt either myself or others, though some of it shouldn't have to be spelled out in the first place.

But considering how ridiculously easy it is to misinterpret each other online, and how much of a disadvantage neuroatypical people like myself are when things are left just implicit rather than made what you could argue as exhaustingly explicit, I figured a crazy FAQ was a small price to pay for a peaceful environment.

TLDR: it certainly might be overkill, but that doesn't mean there is no point to it.

Q: What should requesters and followers call you anyways?

A: I'm fine with my username. If you're going for a different vibe, Red or Darlings sounds nice too. If you can come up with something catchier, feel free to try!

On that note, I also may be slow going when it comes to requests. All I can do is promise to put a lot of thought into my replies, even though speed is not guaranteed. Any other questions can be asked directly, and I would be more than happy to answer them!

¡Hola!Sorry, I don’t know a lot of Korean celebrities! I’ve only watched, like…3 dramas. (…no, four. Haven’t finished the fifth…)

Although, for a fancast, I can imagine Gong…something as Jumin (guy from Goblin and Coffee Prince?).

And looks-wise, that guy from…EXO? Is he from EXO? Maybe? Who dyed his hair grey/pale blue? He was in “7 First Kisses” as the cute guy that took her out for burgers. That guy. He looked like Zen the whole time. #sighAlthough, I would prefer Ok Taecyeon as Zen because he is beautiful and princely and every time I see him I swoon… and he can do derpy moments, too, which fits Zen…also, 2pm is fit. So.

And I think the guy from Moon Lovers (Lee Joon-gi)/he was also that one guy in My Girl would be a good Saeran. He has angry eyes, but also he could act both the scary and soft sides. (...maybe it's because he wears so much black in Moon Lovers...?)

…I don’t know enough boy bands to pick a Yoosung or Seven. I know NO WOMEN.

Look, when I wrote that post all the way in September, I thought I’d be less obsessed by December. I was wrong, though.

It happens.

Let’s not dwell on it.

For those who need to be reminded, BTS is:

A K-Pop band.

They have seven members.

They are ridiculously talented.

Their music, though categorized under “pop”, tends to go between genres.

They’re big in Korea, but since their Billboard award this year have been gaining a lot of attention in North America too.

Point is, some of their music videos have the members acting their little hearts out. The band also does challenges and plays games that allow them to not only connect with fans, but showcases each member’s particular charms. Basically, through every video I’ve seen of them, whether it’s an interview or a dance practice, I’ve been hoping they get cast in a movie. Maybe multiple movies.

And since I don’t have the power to make that happen, my solution is do an elaborate fancast post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[Note: I won’t be fancasting the members for characters that are already (non-Korean) characters of colour. We have too few characters of colour for me to pretend it’s all the same if I fancast a Korean dude in place of a Black character, etc. People of colour are not a monolith. Don’t bother suggesting any such thing in the comments, thanks.]

as Gavriel from The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

Look, he’s easily the goofiest member, but in a lot of photoshoots and MVs, Jin ends up looking smoulder-y and vaguely …. well, I don’t want to evil. Um, chaotic neutral, shall we say?

This particular photo of him, combined with his moments in “Run” makes me kinda want to see him as the dangerous, sweet, and dramatically unhinged Gavriel from Holly Black’s The Coldest Girl in Coldtown.

I don’t care if the entire screen adaptation is in English and Jin’s the only one speaking Korean–which everyone can magically understand–I just don’t care.

I just think he could pull it off.

Suga

as Kaz from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I already mentioned this in my first BTS post and I know certain people/Nafizas will have different picks for Kaz, but as I’m the one writing this post, Suga’s my pick.

I don’t know how much of the “other members are scared of Suga” thing is true. I just know he has Kaz’s scheming face. Which happens to be Suga’s poker-face, tbh. He always looks like he’s planning something.

I also think Suga’s going to have a lot of fun with the scene where Kaz basically beats up his own gang in order to become the new leader of the Dregs.

J-Hope

J-Hope is the one from the group who I can picture saying: “Friendship is not a zone, you idiot! I think he’d be great at this role and I also think, like Bruno, he ought to have a sweet romance on the side.

Also, as of the last volume I read, Bruno is off having adventures in Wakanda and you guys, I really want to see J-Hope in Wakanda, trying to steal something from Black Panther, okay?

as Victor from Want by Cindy Pon

I don’t actually remember if Victor’s ethnicity is discussed. I remember reading that no one actually knew where he was from and neither did he? If anyone knows for sure, let me know. And if it isn’t Korean, uh, I’ll find another character for RM.

Basically, Victor is supposed to have the kind of face that isn’t easy to forget *cough-RM-cough* and dresses like a model *cough-V-could-help-cough* and is often funny with his friends, but carries some darkness within him *cough-okay-that’s-all-people-though-cough*.

This whole post honestly began because I couldn’t un-see RM as Victor. Obviously, I can’t explain it. I just think he’d be perfect as the cocky dude who is also one of the best people you get to hang out with. Somebody please make this movie happen. I’m begging here.

Jimin

as Colton from Timekeeper by Tara Sim

Okay, this random picture of Jimin does not do him justice. (Except it also does, because look how sweet.) There’s something about Jimin’s close-ups that make me feel like he … just can’t be real? I mean, one person can contain multitudes, etc, but how can his face be possible?! Which works for a character like Colton.

Anyway, this fancasting is largely informed by Jimin’s solo track “Serendipity“. The music video has a very blonde Jimin mostly in an indoor setting, often looking out into the world. It reminded me a lot of how Colton was stuck at his clocktower and hoping for a visit from someone outside. There’s also a moment when Jimin pricks his hand and that reminded me of Colton basically breaking his clocktower to coerce a certain timekeeper into a visiting him.

Also, the song is pretty sweet. I recommend. The book and the song.

as Raffaele from The Young Elites by Marie Lu

Maybe I’ve just seen too much Hwarang. V has a supporting role in this drama and he has the long hair I always imagined Raffaele to have. Throw on some Venetian robes and we’ve got Raffaele from my favourite fantasy trilogy of all time.

V seems like a playful dude, but he definitely gets some serious parts to play in BTS’ MVs. I’m think back especially to “I Need U“. Certainly Raffaele is more about subtle subterfuge, rather than straight-up stabbing someone, but V has that quiet (and sometimes loud) intensity about him that I can see working for the role. I’ve never need a 3-season Netflix show more.

Jungkook

as Daniel from The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

Daniel probably doesn’t care for Huckleberry Finn, so let’s pretend JK is holding a different book here. Possibly a book of poetry.

Jungkook, like all the members, gets to take on some pretty versatile roles in BTS’ MVs. Off-screen he’s funny and energetic and on-screen he tends to be more serious. Daniel is an easy mix of these personalities.

I also think Jungkook can pull off Daniel’s way of being deeply earnest about love. Like, any other character saying the things Daniel says would be cliché and ridiculous, but because it’s Daniel it feels genuine. I think Jungkook definitely has that same quality. At least, on-screen, which is all I need for the purpose of this post.
