Fake dating, let's go 💪
There's some kind of big royal U.N. conference and Mario and Luigi have tagged along with Peach as "security" (really because it was going to be boring). Luigi runs into Prince Peasley, who he tried desperately to get the attention of last time they met, and realized afterward that maybe Peasley wasn't interested and ignored him on purpose. (This is not true, Peasley legitimately didn't realize Luigi was into him, people act like that around him all the time!) So in a misguided attempt to not look like a loser, Luigi says he's there as a guest's romantic partner. Peasley cheerfully says he hopes he sees the two of them at some of the social events later and moves on.
Meanwhile, Bowser is actually trying to play nice and get some other countries to trade with the Koopa Kingdom, which is hard not just because of their history of invasions but also because of his personal reputation. More than a few royals are reluctant to even talk to him because they know what happened with the last princess who was polite to him. When Bowser finds out that's part of the problem, he quickly says he's over all that. In fact, he's got a consort now!
What to do, what to do. 🤔
Later, Bowser practically trips over Luigi, and decides he's as good a target as any to take out his rage on. Despite already being miserable Luigi's not having any of that, and they agree to find a private room to have a proper fight in. Neither of them wants to get too hurt, so they're only disheveled and out of breath when they emerge.
Most people don't think twice about two conference guests coming out of a room, but Peasley happens to be in the hallway, takes one look and says, "I see! Good for you!"
Luigi is too stunned to say anything, but when Bowser asks what the hell that was, Luigi explains as quickly as he can and offers to go clear things up.
"No way! This is perfect!"
Bowser drags Luigi back into the room, explains his situation, and makes a mostly-decent proposal. All they have to do is make a couple appearances at those stupid social events on the conference schedule, Peasley will think Luigi traded up (Luigi: "Sure... Up...") and the stuck-up royals will think Bowser has a nice boring boyfriend, problems solved all around!
As much as Luigi doesn't want to do it, he wants to explain the truth to Peasley even less. He agrees.
(and tells Mario and Peach immediately, of course, who think it's hilarious)
So... that's that. He's kind of dating Bowser. The first social event is a cocktail party, where everybody's supposed to play nice and make light conversion. It's incredibly awkward, but Luigi can tell Bowser is making a serious effort to keep his temper in check, no matter how many people have snide comments about him or his "date." Mostly to keep from having to fight him again, Luigi talks to him and listens to his complaints and agrees that a lot of the other royals are being jerks. It's... kind of amazing what a difference it makes in Bowser's personality just to be heard.
The next day's social event is a showcase of regional food and drinks, which was entirely voluntary but most of the royals have turned into a passive-aggressive competition. Since the Koopa Kingdom couldn't be bothered to take part, all Bowser and Luigi have to do is walk around and eat free food. They have a pretty good time, all things considered, especially since Luigi has been to a lot of these countries in his adventures and can give informed opinions.
It goes on like that for the rest of the week. Every day, Bowser and Luigi are a little more surprised by each other, a little more comfortable in each other's presence. Bowser protects Luigi several times from getting stepped on or shoved aside, and Luigi starts getting snide right back at anyone who makes a remark about Bowser's manners.
Bowser mentions some of the trouble he's having and Luigi does his best to offer advice. Without thinking about it, Bowser brings Luigi along to his next meeting and he's such a balancing force that it goes better than any meeting Bowser has had all week.
Then it's the last day, and the last event, and after this they'll be done with each other. Back to normal. Back to the way things were before. This one's a concert and a fair number of royals are dancing with their partners or each other (it's a great opportunity to make matches, after all). Mario and Peach get up to dance, and a minute later Bowser gets up and leaves the room.
Luigi follows him.
They're outside in the garden, alone under the moonlight, and Luigi says he understands how Bowser feels. That he's not the only person who's ever had feelings for someone who loves someone else.
"That's not it," Bowser says.
"It's okay! I get it."
"I said that's not it."
And before Luigi can ask what it is then, Bowser picks him up by the collar and kisses him.
In the morning Luigi leaves with the Mushroom Kingdom delegation, as planned, and nobody notices that he didn't spend the night in his room. Nor does anybody ask where he's spending those days that he's not at home.
The next year, when he and Bowser announce their engagement, the guest list includes the royal families of half the kingdoms on the planet.

Beauty and the... Bowser?
Chapter 4
Although not physically imprisoned anymore, Y/N isn't out of the dark yet. The royal advisors have some explaining to do if they want Bowser to give their plan a chance.

“Where is she.” Bowser asked, though it felt more to the two advisors as if he was asking them to confess what they had done.
“Now Your Highness, perhaps we should take a breath-“ Kammy began, though swiftly cut herself off when the king swung his fiery gaze toward her. A small sigh escaped her at the realization of how futile it would be to try and reason with Bowser at this moment, then she righted her posture, but didn’t lift her head to make eye contact. Before Kammy could explain, Kamek took over.
“It was my idea. I thought that we could try again with this one, so I convinced Kammy to clean up one of the guest rooms while I brought the girl out of her cell.” Kamek’s voice wavered, though his shoulders remained squared as he spoke. Bowser’s eye twitched, his rage not yet dissipated. Kammy looked toward Kamek who stood beside her, furrowing her brow before looking Bowser directly in the eye.
“That girl is scared and alone, she likely hasn’t eaten since before she got here, and she is in a completely new place with a giant beast who hasn’t done her a single kindness in the entire few hours that she's been around.” Kammy began, waving Kamek off as he turned toward her with a slightly frightened expression. “Nonetheless, your chance is not too far gone. You can and you will make this up to her because otherwise, everything we have done to save the memory of the Koopa Kingdom will have been for nothing. Now you will clean up, invite her to dinner, and be on your best behaviour. Is that understood?”
Bowser glared at Kammy, though his expression seemed almost confused. Kammy stared right back, not backing down. The king broke eye contact first, turning away without a word and stomping off to his room.
As soon as he was gone, the two advisors let out a huge exhale. Kamek faced Kammy once more.
“How did you do that? How did you stand up to him?” Kamek asked, clenching and unclenching his hands to relax. Kammy smirked slightly.
“I pictured how he was as a toddler when he would refuse to take a bath. He still has the same pout when we tell him off.” Kammy spoke, humour lacing her tone. The pair looked at each other before Kamek snorted, and the two broke into laughter.
“I suppose we’d better let the cooks know that His Highness won't be dining alone this evening." Kamek said as their cackles died down. "We may want to check that His Highness asks his guests politely as well. I would hate to have gone to all that effort only for it to be wasted by bad manners." Kammy replied. With that, the pair headed toward the kitchen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With a lot of effort, Y/N had placed the giant blanket from the bed onto the floor and folded it into a long rectangle. Looking around, her eyes landed on the legs of the giant bed. Without a second thought, the young woman tied the blanket around one of the legs, pulling on it to check that it was tight enough. Confident that it would hold, Y/N stood up to open the closest window to where she had tied the makeshift rope.
"Please be unlocked, please be unlocked, please be unlocked..." Y/N mumbled to herself as she neared the window, bringing her hands up to push the panes open. When she was met with no resistance and the window opening outward, she slightly pumped her fist excitedly.
When she looked down, however, she groaned defeatedly, not realizing just how far from the ground the room really was. Crumpling into herself, Y/N felt helpless. Although she briefly wondered about if the curtains could help, the woman quickly disregarded the thought at the sheer thickness of the fabric and the impossible-to-reach curtain rod.
"I'm imprisoned in a castle that I can't escape and I'm not even wearing a fancy dress." Y/N joked to herself deprecatingly, before the cogs started turning in her head. "Dress... the dress!" Y/N gasped to herself, whipping her head toward the ornate wardrobe in the corner of the room. She scrambled over to it and threw the doors open, taking the dress she had seen before out.
The young woman was distracted for a moment by the delicate gown, never having had the opportunity to wear something so elegant. She stroked a hand over the piece, regret and hesitance in her motions. Y/N squeezed her eyes closed and took a deep breath in, opening her eyes once more as she exhaled shortly with determination.
Placing her hands on the bottom hem of the dress, Y/N took another deep breath. Then, the woman began to rip the fabric in a spiral motion. When the dress was ripped into a much longer shape, Y/N tied it to the end of the blanket tightly and stood up, tossing the now longer makeshift rope out the open window.
Just as she was about to hoist herself onto the windowsill, though, there was a loud banging at her door. Y/N jumped in fear, not knowing what to do as a million possibilities for her getting caught ran through her mind. When the banging subsided, though, Y/N heard a familiar voice through the door whispering at whoever was banging at the door.
"Your Highness, perhaps try knocking a bit lighter. She might still be on edge." The voice of Kamek advised in a low tone. Bowser huffed aggressively, but knocked again with less force than before.
"Yes?" Y/N called out, her heart nearly beating out of her chest as she stayed near the open window. There were aggressive whispers that Y/n couldn't quite make out before the voice of the king took over her ears, making anger rise in her chest.
"Will you have dinner with me?" Bowser asked in the politest voice he could muster, an ill-concealed edge to his voice, though the anger was mainly aimed at his two advisors that stared expectantly at him. On the other side of the door, Y/N grit her teeth and stepped away from the window in the direction of the door.
"No! I won't! I want you to let me leave so I can go home!" While her sentence was one of desperation, Y/N's tone was filled with only anger as she shouted at the king through the guest room door.
The two advisors cringed at Y/N's shouts, watching Bowser's jaw tense.
"You can't leave, you chose to replace that old man. You shouldn't even be in this room!" The edge in Bowser's voice began to rise as he was reminded of the reason the young woman was here in the first place.
"Well then, if I'm still your prisoner, I guess I'll just starve in here! Why should a lowly criminal ever dine with royalty?!" Y/N's voice raised, her tone dripping with venom. Bowser's eye began to twitch alongside his jaw.
"THEN STAY IN THERE! BECAUSE YOU AREN'T LEAVING!" Bowser growled harshly, turning away from the door as smoke began billowing from his mouth. Before he stomped down the hallway, however, he stopped in front of Kammy and Kamek.
"If she doesn't eat with me, she doesn't eat at all." The king snarled, stomping away down the hall. As Bowser's thundering footsteps got further away, Kammy and Kamek looked at each other with worried expressions.
"I will check on His Highness. You should make the girl some tea and snacks." Kammy said with a defeated sigh, walking away with less strength in her posture. Kamek watched the older Magikoopa saunter away, then fixed his eyes on the ornate door in front of him. He stood there for a minute, wanting to comfort the girl inside but failing to find the right words to say.
"I'll be back with some food for you." Kamek said gently, deciding that leaving the girl alone for now would be best. With that, he walked swiftly down the hallway, leaving Y/N to digest what had happened.
Left alone in silence, Y/N's anger had settled, now replaced by bubbling tears in her eyes. She began to cry, her shoulders rising up and down with her heaving breaths as she crumpled to her knees and curled into herself. The woman sobbed for a minute, then whipped her head around to the window where the makeshift rope still fluttered in the evening breeze.
Y/N forced herself up, walking to the window and looking outside once more. Even with the now ripped dress tied to the blanket, the end of the rope wasn't close to the ground. With a new sense of hopelessness and frustration, Y/N grabbed the rope tightly and pulled it back through the window aggressively.
Once it was fully inside, the young woman began to angrily untie the ripped dress from the blanket, but found that she was only ripping the dress further. Emotion took her over completely, overwhelming every bit of her senses.
With heaving, rapid breaths, Y/N focused her anger on the dress, ripping it to shreds. Pieces of cotton, tulle, and silk fabric flew across the room as the woman's anger turned to tears, and tears turned to sobbing. Finally leaving the fabric alone, Y/N pressed her palms to her eyes and allowed herself to cry.
A sudden knock on the door made her shift her gaze to the door, but her tears didn't cease.
"Mi-er Y/N?" The voice of Kamek questioned. When Y/N didn't answer, the Magikoopa cracked the door open and peeked inside, then opened the door further to allow a Shy Guy to push a serving cart inside. Kamek followed the Shy Guy in, then closed the door behind him.
Turning around, a small gasp was forced out of his lungs at the sight of the room. Shreds of fabric were all over the room, the bed sheets completely askew with the blanket laid on the floor. In the centre of it all sat Y/N, tears still flowing from her eyes as she stared blankly at the floor rather than facing the two figures who had just entered.
"What happened in here?" Kamek asked, disbelief in his voice. Y/N looked at him tiredly. "Dress wasn't my style." She joked, though her tone was too serious to gain a laugh.
The Shy Guy wasn't sure what to do beyond pushing the cart to the side and leaving the room to grab a broom and dustpan from the closest supply closet, then hurrying back. As they began sweeping the shreds of fabric, Kamek grasped Y/N's arm to help her up, then stood back to look her over.
"We brought you some tea and something to eat but... are you okay?" Kamek asked hesitantly. Y/N nodded weakly, then shifted her gaze to the Shy Guy who had finished sweeping. They made their way over to the serving cart, going on their tiptoes to pour a cup of tea. Holding it in both of their hands, the Shy Guy offered it to Y/N silently.
Y/N blinked awkwardly, then took the cup and saucer and slowly took a sip of the floral smelling liquid. It poured down her throat comfortably, warming and hydrating her. With a small sniffle, Y/N noticed that the Shy Guy was looking at her expectantly.
"Oh! Uh... it's really good. Thank you." Y/N said, smiling softly. The Shy Guy seemed to fluster, holding their arms to their mask and turning away shyly. Y/N's small smile grew slightly at the innocent movement.
"What's your name?" She asked curiously, her tone still small but calmer than before. The Shy Guy peeked back at the young woman, then shook their head, causing Y/N to frown in confusion. Kamek pulled on Y/N's sleeve slightly, then motioned for her to lean toward him.
"We mostly just refer to them as Shy Guys since they never remove their masks. Though it does make things rather complicated." He murmured to her, though Y/N's eyes never left the masked creature in front of her. The young woman tilted her head to the side, as if in thought. The Shy Guy mirrored her, making Y/N smile toothily.
"Do you want to help me come up with a name for yourself?" Y/N asked, squatting so that she was eye to eye with the Shy Guy. They nodded excitedly, making Y/N giggle slightly.
Kamek watched the pair interact, Y/N saying names that came to mind and the Shy Guy nodding or shaking their head at each one. A small smile was brought to Kamek's beak, and he quietly left the room with a renewed sense of hope.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the other side of the castle, Kammy knocked on Bowser's bedroom door.
"Your Highness?" She called, not receiving a reply. "Your Highness, may I come in?" Kammy called again, hovering her hand above the golden doorknob. Once again receiving no answer, Kammy twisted the knob and poked her head in, only to be met by an empty room. The elder Magikoopa clicked her tongue, both at the missing king and at the state of his bedroom.
The oil paintings that once hung on the wall were each on the floor, thick claw marks having nearly torn the portrait of a slightly younger Bowser to shreds. The dark bedsheets laid askew with holes punctured in several places, the rug and curtains not in any better state. Not a single item lay undamaged in the room, though Kammy knew better than to think that the damage was only caused by fits of rage.
The elder Magikoopa could hear the king crying quite often through his bedroom door after a period where roars and the smell of smoke filled the space. Sometimes the king would ask questions to the empty space, most of them asking 'why'. Other times, the king was silent, his despair having taken him over completely. It was these moments that Kammy remembered that Bowser was still the frightened baby that her and Kamek had found all those years ago, a baby who took the weight of an entire kingdom onto his shoulders and was now faced with its destruction by his own actions.
Kammy shook her head, bringing herself out of the past. Exiting the room, she closed the door behind her, then turned to the only other place she could think of that the king would retreat to; the rooftop greenhouse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The corpses of the plants leaned sideways out of their pots, the smell of their decay overwhelming the place. The glass greenhouse was still missing several panes, with the remaining ones shattered on the floor, though a pathway was swept between the entrance and the small table in the centre of the circular building which allowed Kammy to safely approach the king.
Upon the small table and underneath a glass dome sat the daisy, many of its petals having fallen and crumpled since Bowser was left with it. Despite feeling mocked by its very presence, a constant reminder of what he had done, the king never dared to touch it.
This time was no different. Bowser grazed his large claws on the outside of the glass, his breathing steady and calm. Despite refusing to look past her father's supposed crime, the king was not one who enjoyed making women upset. In his other hand, Bowser held a magic mirror, one capable of showing the user whoever they wanted. For the king, he wanted to see how Y/N was, though not having the courage to face her and apologize for fear of making things worse.
As he watched the young woman giggle as she conversed with a Shy Guy, Bowser felt a pang of longing in his large chest. The king screwed his eyes shut and placed the mirror down, rejecting the feeling. He then placed his head down, continuing to trace the elegant swirls in the glass dome.
Another petal fell.
AIR MATTRESS
Bower x Gn! Reader
Includes: Fluff, pet names, cuddling, Bowser is reader's fiancee
Word count: 931
A loud rumbling can be heard through the palace walls as the sirens go off and the guards are alerted. You roll over tiredly looking at the alarm clock on the dresser nearby and let out a deep sigh.
♡ Earlier that Afternoon ♡
"I'm so grateful that you were able to come over and discuss our kingdom's alliance!"
Peach looks over at you with a huge smile gracing her practically perfect face. Her hands gently pick up the teapot as she goes to pour your tea, as is the etiquette for a Princess with a highly esteemed guest. This, you realized, was your first time properly meeting her. You had heard a lot from Bowser, he used to always talk about how sweet and kind she was. Well, that was until he fell in love with you.
"So, I hear you're engaged to Bowser! How... wonderful!"
She smiles at you but it's not exactly genuine. You can tell she's happy for you, but the thought of having to marry Bowser seems to make her uncomfortable. Then she clears her throat and continues.
"I'm sure he'll make a great husband. Maybe we could finally have peace between the Mushroom Kingdom and the Dark Lands! Although for now, let us let our advisors talk this over. I'll show you where you'll stay for the night."
She leads you through the beautiful hallways of her castle until you reach a smaller room full of mushroom decor. In the center of the room, several toad butlers take turns pumping air into a large mattress. You look over at Peach just in time to see her giving them a frustrated look. Her cheeks turn red momentarily before she takes a deep breath.
"Why is there an air mattress in the middle of the room?"
One of the toads rush to her side quickly with an apologetic face
"I apologize, my Princess, it's all we could find in the castle on such short notice!"
She lets out another sigh and then turns to you.
"I'm so sorry about this! Your visit was a bit last minute but, that is no excuse. I'll have you a better bed by the morning and hopefully, by then our advisors will have everything sorted out."
She turns with a smile and leaves the room quickly, her toads following once the mattress is finished. Now you were alone in the big room to rest until the morning. The bed is surprisingly comfy and you being tired from the trip, fall asleep easily.
♡ Back to the Present ♡
Suddenly, a loud noise was heard as a certain large Koopa punched a fist through the wall multiple times until he had a hole big enough to step into. It was easy to see his large shadow on the linoleum floor even at night. He seemed very worried as he peered into the room.
"Bowser...?"
He looked over at this sound letting his eyes adjust gradually before trotting over to you
"There y'er baby... scared me half to death."
"Bowser! I told you that I was staying at the Mushroom Kingdom for a while, you didn't have to go breaking the walls!"
"Awhh I know, but I missed ya"
He quietly got to your level by laying on the cold floor, he sorta looked like one of those bear skin rugs
"Come home with me? I can kidnap you, just like in old times. Remember?"
You can see his tail wag softly in the darkness as he reminisces about how you two were when you first met.
"Bowser I can't leave... I'm Peach's guest it would be very rude. Besides, it's late. Mm so tired..."
He looks at you with pleading eyes and well, how could you say no to your favorite evil King?
"Although, I don't think she would mind that much if you stayed... Just-"
Before you could finish the excited Bowser goes to hold you and a loud "pop" echoes through the room as one of the silver spikes on his bracelet makes contact with the mattress. It deflates and you quickly feel the hardness of the floor and shoot him a disapproving face.
"Oh, baby I'm sorry..."
He looks at you like a puppy who was just smacked on the snout for trying to steal food. Then he thinks for a second and gives you one of his signature smirks, taking your place on the now-deflated air mattress. He takes some of the pillows and places them underneath his shell for comfort and before you can say anything scoops you up onto his stomach.
"How's this sweetheart?"
He drapes a blanket over both of you and rests his big hand on your back. You both fall asleep listening to the quiet sound of the wind outside.
EXTRA:
You wake by a loud knock on the door as Princess Peach lets herself in. Needless to say, she stops dead in her tracks.
"Oh... it was you that set the alarm off last night."
She looks at Bowser and then at the big hole in the wall, her toads would have to repair it later. You get up and Bowser follows.
"Oh Princess I'm so sorry! We'll pay for any of the damage caused won't we Bowser?"
You elbow him in his side and he snaps to attention from his groggy state
"Huh? Oh yeah... Sure... Ok"
He looks at you lovingly as if he wasn't in trouble for breaking a large hole in the wall. Peach stares at him, then gently removes a punctured pillow from one of his spikes.
"Yes... sounds... nice"
Hey guys, I finally finished my first fic on this account! Let me know what you think, also feel free to send asks :D
You know what we haven't talked about once ans I can't believe that we haven't?
Meeting Bowser at a ball and him falling instantly.
Like, it's some party being held by yet another prestigious royal who wants to show off. Maybe you're a friend of this royal or simply get invited for some other reason. But when Bowser meets you he's just enthralled. Amazed. In awe.
Showing off by talking about his land and his people and his strengths and doing anything to elicit a reaction out of you. And boy does he get a reaction.
Just, sappy love at first sight Bowser at a ball, dressed up all fancy, showing off, regular Bowser stuff.
And just imagine you suggest going on a walk with him. Like, he's just there bragging to hopefully please you and then you suggest walking through the palace gardens, away from the party. At that point it wouldn't be a compulsion, because obviously a guest at a ball has to behave a certain way. If you suggest going away from the crowds that would be such a clear sign of authentic interest.
Just - no need to perform, and no sets of wandering eyes or anything like that.
And then imagine after the ball, you suddenly start getting more invitations from the Koopa Kingdom. Like, letters sent directly from the king himself. The Koopa Kingdom started hosting balls out of nowhere, or maybe there's more meetings happening and maybe more delegations being sent between the two kingdoms.
And then if he hosts a party and a ball himself, he'd spend less time actually entertaining the guests and instead he'd entertain you.
Like, Kamek and Kammy can deal with the politics, he has his sights on something else, and then he just shows you around the castle and makes sure everything is to your liking. And just - his tail is wagging, he's subconsciously leaning down to get closer to your level, he's standing protectively closer even within his own castle, and then his eyes refuse to leave you.
Yup, I'm surprised we haven't talked about this before because this is so wholesome and this trope deserves more attention.
Super Mario Bros. Isekai!Reader (Bowser x Reader) (1/3)
Tumblr media
You died. That’s how you got into this mess. You don’t know how and when but y’know you died.
And it looks like you were about to die again at the rate you were FALLING OUT OF THE SKY!
Princess Peach, looking at the night sky: Is that star…Screaming?
Reader: ÆAAAAAHHHHHHHH-!!! *Lands hard at the center of toad town*
The last thing you remember was being surrounded by toads and a woman wearing a Crown. Everything goes black.
You wake up in a very fancy room. The bed is very comfortable considering how far you well in the middle of the sky. You look around, the walls and pillars are creamy white and pink, with images of weird-looking mushrooms around and a blond Princess.
you see a toad with a nurse hat on.........Wait. This is all familiar....
You're..........YOU'RE IN THE MARIO UNIVERSE!
you gasp and sit up, groaning in pain from your muscles being sore and scratches on your body. The Pink toad gasps and calls for someone. Peach? You're in Peach's castle!
She walks in with a look of worry in her eyes. You gulp. This is all weird. You have been a big Nintendo fan for years, especially when it came to Mario. It seems like a very detailed lucid dream. But you knew from the pains in your body that you were awake. It made you flustered a bit. What's happening.
She's......really pretty. Her regal pink drees to the shine of her blond hair were surreal in real life. Would it be too weird to ask for her autograph?
She started to ask you questions in a gentle voice, as if not to startle you by how nervous you were acting. She asked you questions about if you were okay or feeling well, and if you knew why you were in the sky.
You answered 'Yes sorta' to your injuries. But 'Why were you in the sky?"........You had no idea. You tell her that you don't remember much. You weren't even from here. This land is unknown to you (kinda). Matter of fact, you tell her you might be from a different universe (it's not like it's far-fetched from the Mario Universe).
She looks surprised by your answer, but you knew she didn't think you were lying. She believed you. The question is, what now?
.........She then speaks up and asks if you had any place to go. You said no. She then asks if you would be interested in staying inside the castle until you find your home.
Peach couldn't just leave you to fend for yourself. It didn't feel right when you were in such a different place. This shocked you by how generous and kind she was being but of course, you said yes. This is a dream come true!
That's the short story about how you came into the Mushroom Kingdom, and how you became Peach's Lady-in-waiting.
What can you say, you worked really hard to stay at the place where you were able to help out a bit in the castle. You even became friends with Peach (goals).
The toads were so kind to you, and they were so cute, and everything was just so beautiful.
You also got to Meet Mario and Luigi along the way. They are even better in real life! You had to fight the urge to ask for an autograph.
All was going well.... until
You were having one of the many tea parties that you and Peach loved doing together when a loud ruckus was happening outside the castle.
Checking outside, you see a huge skyship. Oh No.
That was Bowser's alright. This is happening all too soon. You grabbed Peach's hand and make a run for a possible escape when he tries to kidnap her.
You instinctively grab a random power-up just incase something went wrong for Mario to take. You didn't have time to see what you grabbed.
Maybe sneaking in the backdoor can buy some time before he-
You are quickly interrupted by bumping into a large figure in your way while you were lost in thought. You had to look up to see his face. The Koopa King himself, Bowser.
"BWAHAHA! Trying to leave so soon, Princess? It's rude to leave a guest waiting. Nice Try!" He taunted as the princess took a step back behind you.
You're not really thinking. But you couldn't just let peach get taken. It'll be a minute before Mario and Luigi get here.
'This is a bad idea.' You thought to yourself as you stood your ground, although shaking a bit in fear. "Leave her alone! S-She's tired of all this kidnapping! Please Leave!" You urge the Monster.
He only looks at you with a mix of anger, confusion, and disgust.
"Who is this pipsqueak!? OUT OF MY WAY IF YOU KNOWS WHAT"S GOOD FOR YOU!!" He growled.
You Gulped. This is a REALLY bad idea. But your body moved on it's own as you suddenly jumped up and skull bash your head to his surprisingly strong that it shocked both of you as he went back a bit.
Peach looked in shocked as you did this. this was a sight to behold. No one was brave enough to fight him besides the Mario Bros.
You don't know why you did that but it hurts. Really bad. He held his head in pain. He then growled and roared loudly. His piercing red eyes glaring down at you. "HOW DARE YOU!!" You didn't have time to think as you were sent to the wall with a powerful punch to the face. You hit the wall with a thud and felt a bit of blood in your mouth. And felt something moving in it and spat it out. A tooth. You took out your tooth.
Although vision blurry, you saw move closer to Princess Peach. She called out your name in worry and fear. You had to do something, but it hurt to move.
You then remembered the item you took with you. You pulled it out. A feather.
You lookin front of you. You couldn't wait for Mario to show up. You never tried a Power-u but first thing for everything!
As Bowser Stepped closer to Peach, he was suddenly stopped by a foot coming towards his torso!
It was you, in a cape, with a bruised cheek and bloody head.
You still think this is a bad idea, but whatever.
"You don't know when to quit do you? PEACH IS MINE!"
That's how your battle started. As someone who has never fought before, at least with a Giant Koopa, You were still at a disadvantage. You got hit, scratched and stomped on. But you were resilient. And didn't stop coming back up
Which is why you won. Peach was able to buy you some time with her heart power and weaken him. Just Enough for you to do the famous tail swing out of the castle., sending him flying.
...... You then collapsed out of exhaustion and from being beaten.
Peach gasp and hurries to your side. "Oh My Goodness! Are you alright?!"
With a blank stare, you smile dumbly at her, your new gap teeth showing . "You're safe, thank goodness……When did you get 3 heads?"
Peach smiled and giggles at you, worry still in her eyes. "My hero…let's Get you healed up, ahall we?"
"Okey dokey."
Meanwhile, Somewhere else
A loud Thundorus roar echo across Dark Lands, shaling the castle that settled there.
"Calm Down, your Angrieness!" Kamek tries to pacify the King.
"THIS BLOWS!!" He stomps and stomps in a Tantrum fit. Bandages on his chest, tail, and his forehead where covered up. "
"Not only do I have to deal with thosel lousy brothers, BUT NOW A RANDOM BROAD!?" He stomps the ground some more!, shaking the ground!
"IT'S NOT FAIR!"
He's so mad. The next time he goes to that Castle, he's going to pummel you. He doesnt need anyone else interfeing with his evil plans! Count your days, pipsqueak! You mess with the wrong King!
Hesitant Affection (Bowser x TransMasc/Male Reader)
Some feel good fluff with everyone’s favorite Koopa <3 This is kinda just ramblings since I couldn’t nail down a solid plot so forgive me if it’s a little chaotic. It’s a bit short and scattered so if you’d like something more specific just send me a request! The more specific the better.
Note: For things like this, I imagine Bowser a little more humanoid than his in-game model so this may come across in my writing but I do my best to kinda leave it up to interpretation. He’s still very tall and large, but more proportionate to human standards and lizardy in my mind. Also, unrelated because it doesn’t come up here but chubby Bowser > ripped Bowser, I will take no arguments.
CW: The level of transition for this reader character is unspecified. He/him pronouns are used here and there, but it's mostly a second person POV. A small part mentions the reader’s aversion to dresses and wearing them as a child, but is never forced to wear one in the present.
Requested by: anonymous
Word count: 615
Bowser. Praised by some, feared by many, and loved by a select few that he allows. Up until recently that list included only the Koopalings and on a good day, Kamek. But then this human, how curious he’s not afraid of the cruel King of the Koopas, wanders into his life and soon, he can't imagine his castle without him.
There’s a touch more life to the place, his subjects are happier with him around. He often helps in the kitchen or tidying up a mess. He hates to admit it, but this strange human may be changing Bowser too. He feels less of an inclination to cause random havoc knowing it would upset you, both to see him hurt but also others too (curse that large, kind heart you have).
He’s quite the textbook gentleman, holding doors and pulling out your chair. But get him to engage in romance outside of what he was taught to provide and he becomes a mess. A small kiss on the nose seemed to make his fiery hair steam while his face burned with uncharacteristic sheepishness. Insist on holding his hand and he won’t even turn your way, to hide his embarrassed face of course, all while extending his grasp to your much, much smaller hand because how could he say no to his beloved? Not when he asked so sweetly, too. You’d be the death of him, he always thought to himself, but he’d die happy at least.
On one occasion, an unexpected invite to the Mushroom Kingdom for a banquet found its way to your hands, Bowser insisting it must be a mistake because why would they invite him to such a thing?
The invitation was vague. Peach’s large cursive writing, in pink pen of course, simply invited ‘The King of the Koopas and one guest to attend a banquet at my castle in the Mushroom Kingdom.’ The date and dress code were detailed at the bottom. You hadn’t been to a party like this since you were very young, forced into an itchy dress that you didn’t particularly like for many reasons, more being added on as you discovered yourself further. While you had faith Bowser wouldn’t urge any sort of similar clothing on you, he still insisted on letting you know that wasn’t happening if you wished to go and you were grateful.
That night, all eyes were on the Koopa King and the human hanging off his arm. The princess greeted you cheerfully, inviting you both in and explaining the banquet’s purpose as a celebration of peace. She was grateful to Bowser for his change in behavior, and later to you when in conversation over drinks you explained you may have been the reason for it. You were introduced to the ever famous Mario Brothers, delightful duo they were, and found amusement when you caught your date for the evening glaring daggers at the mustachioed plumber in red.
I see you helping him with the Koopalings, Bowser Jr. namely, and him swooning. Watching you hold his hand in a crowd so you don’t separate from him makes his heart flutter, letting them help you in the kitchen to make his birthday breakfast and smiling (and almost crying but he’d never admit it) when he passes the cracked kitchen door.
He sleeps on his front due to his shell and sometimes, you like to stick cotton balls on his spikes while he dozes for no real reason other than the human fascination of having the ability to do so. It entertains you and when Bowser discovers it, he finds it cute. He also can’t get them off himself so be a dear and help him, won’t you?
Day 14: Cage
The following morning for Luigi was… eventful, to say the least.
Bowser had left the nest only after ensuring that both the Koopalings and Luigi stayed inside his chambers -that is, by barricading the door.
Luigi would like to say he wasn’t the loudest to protest this, but he (unfortunately) knew that the Koopalings wouldn’t agree.
Combined with the lack of obvious entertainment, it’s a wonder that they unanimously agreed to either go back to sleep or talk to/bother their new guest.
Luigi wouldn’t say it was nerve-wracking, but the (rightfully curious) questions of Ludwig, Wendy, and Junior have put a lot of things into perspective.
First, it means A LOT for Bowser to have allowed someone into the nest aside from the kids.
(And yes, he has blushed redder than Mario’s hat at the pointed looks he received.)
Second, don’t worry about going easy on Junior once they decide to play games; he is a sly cheat sometimes with the skill to back him up.
(Luigi is more skeptical of this, but doesn’t argue.)
Third, there was a Very Good Reason that Bowser freaked out so much:
Apparently, long ago, the castle had been Magically reinforced with protections against foreign scrying and teleportation -something that is supposed to not only work within the castle’s perimeter, but also produce an audible backlash that allows the residents to locate the perpetrator.
The fact that neither Bowser nor Luigi has found evidence of a present source of the whispers, and has not heard the tell-tale siren…
Well, either someone overpowered those protections, or… it’s something else.
It left the four of them in tense contemplation, enough to almost miss a warped ringing sound nearby.
It took everything in Bowser to concentrate on the action in front of him.
After making sure his kids and Luigi were safe (as one can be, considering...), he immediately headed towards the barracks, shouting out for Kammek and Kammy.
He has no idea how long they have been spied on, or even how long the Kingdom has before -whatever it is does something.
Bowser doesn't even know what to expect, and it feels so damning.
Even as his advisors gather as many Magikoopas as possible, maybe to track down the anomaly before things escalate, it felt like it was too little too late-
But it's not too late, not when he still has someone to protect.
Still, even with this resolve, he had met the arriving Messenger Koopa with a mixed sense of surprise and dread.
And then he learned it was a forewarned announcement for the arrival of 'Mushroom Kingdom Representatives'.
Once, months before this moment, Bowser would have met this news with eager smugness. He would have reveled in the chance -the far-fetched implication- that Peach liked him back.
Now? He only feels unadulterated RELIEF.
Of course, they decide to come for a surprise visit!
...Oh shit, they won't know what is happening.
"Kamek!'
"Yes, Your Franticness?"
"I want you to get the red menace here, pronto! AND GET HIM UP TO SPEED!"
"Right away, sir!"
There. Hopefully, whatever the hell is going on will at least-
He hears a distant, warped ringing.
"KAMMY!"
The Magikoopa doesn't bother replying, instead poofing him and everyone in the room towards the unmistakable sound.
The pink smoke didn't even fully clear before Bowser went into a panic-
The Koopalings were huddled in the nest- they didn't seem hurt but-
Luigi was standing outside of it trembling- obviously trying to stay between them and the threatthreatthreat- and Bowser wants him to get away-
"At last! After searching like a child for a beloved toy outside its cage, I've found you!"
I’m back with another Mario Movie AU, because apparently I can’t stop.
(It’s not really intended as a Bowuigi / Bowsario / Powser scenario, but if you want to read it that way, be my guest and go wild with your ideas).
Luigi gets captured and taken to Bowser, you know the drill. BUT. Two details make a big difference from canon :
Luigi, who’s been in a Hobbit bingewatch recently, manages to take a leaf out of the “surviving the huge murderous dragon by stroking their ego” book and starts complimenting and praising Bowser, whose reputation spreads beyond this world, he claims. He’s only come here to admire the glory of such a magnificent king, the Terror of the Darklands, the Scourge of the Kingdoms, the King of Monsters (he’s pulling all of this out of what he’s heard and awkwardly guessed so far). How could he not, after everything he’s heard about him ?? And yet the tales pale in comparaison of the real thing. Yes, that’s totally why he’s here. “And that other human with a moustache ?” “ Do you think I know every human being with a moustache wearing an identical outfit with a hat with the letter of his first name on it?! ...Because I don't! That’s just how normal human males look like !!! Are your mask guys related just because they look like each other ??” Bowser, turning towards the Shy Guys: “Are you ?” “No!! Gross, we’re married, Sir!” “A-anyway, I’m sure that human (who has nothing to do with me at all) is here for the same reason as me! To meet you and tell you how much he finds you awesome! Not for your fiancé at all!”
Bowser is dumb enough to believe all of it.
So now Bowser is very happy because not only does he loves sycophants as a general rule, but this one is human! If just his reputation was enough to make human flock to his kingdom, surely Peach will be head over heels for him once she meets him ! Ha! Take that, random Ex-Koopa-Now-Dry-Bones !!
“Told you all I was irresistible! Now she WILL say yes!!!”
But because he wants to hit every single bullet point in human attraction (and not at all because he’s a bit nervous), he’s asking Luigi for his “opinion”. Which, for Luigi, amounts to stand around while Bowser is singing his lungs out  and pretends that yes, a human would totally be charmed by this!
“How about a mass ritual sacrifice for our wedding ?”
“Oh god, that’s a thing ???”
“Yes, obviously ! Pure Koopa wedding tradition! Won’t she love it?!”
“mamma mia...”
“What was that ?”
“I MEAN- Yeah that’s. That’s very cool, but how about you go even further ?”
“More victims? I mean, I can scrounge up some forced volunteers in my troops...”
“No!! Erm, how about you manage to win the war without making a single causality ? Any warlord can kill everyone on his path, but you’re THE Bowser! You don’t even need to use your full strength to be respected!”
“...That’s very stupid. And I don’t want to be respected, I want to be feared.”
“Well you didn’t hurt me (very much) and I fear AND respect you very much !”
“Fair point.”
“And if you manage to do that ? That Princess Peach, she’ll swoon straight into your arms!”
BONUS !
In the Rainbow Road battle, instead of falling in the sea, Mario and DK are captured and taken to Bowser (with Luigi present in the throne room).
Bowser is gloating and Mario is ready to fight despite the danger:
“So, human, did you also come here to sing my praises?”
“Oh I’ll sing something alright, you...”
“Brother!!” Luigi starts yelling in Italian, “for ONCE in your life, don’t pick a fight you can’t win and listen to me! Just pretend that the maniac with fire breath is the most amazing guy you’ve ever seen, our lives depend on it!”
“...you amazing, incredible and badass king, I can’t believe I ever tried to fight you!”, Mario quickly plays along to the point of dropping on one knee (but mostly to hide his gagging face).
Bowser immediately turns toward Luigi :
“What did you say?? What was that gibberish ?!”
“Eerrr Magic! Yes! To-to make him admit how much he finds you awesome!”
“You can use magic?!”
“Human magic!! That only works on humans!! Not on Koopas or whatever -not that I would have used it on you, of course, eh ehehe....”
“You can make humans fall in love with me on command ?? That’s even BETTER! Now Peach WILL marry me without any doubt!!”
A change in the schedule.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
have not seen the movie but actually kinda do like the ship (dynamic) so here's a little bowigi fic for you guys. is it a crackship/joke fic? probably, but its still something.
Tumblr media
A plan he'd been working on for some time, he was more than sure would go just as he planned. Bowser was sure Princess Peach would be all his by the end of things. In fact he was so confident that kidnapping the princess and singing a song would work he even went ahead and started planning their wedding.
He's king Bowser, why wouldn't she fall for him? She's a princess of the mushroom Kingdom ruling all by herself and he's a strong, responsible big guy who's awesome at running his kingdom, they're totally the perfect match, right? She'll see it soon enough.
He was even getting his subjects to collect guests for their wedding from both their kingdoms. Toads and other creatures from the land resided in his dungeons to wait for the wedding.
Soon he would have princess peach and everything would fall into place. Untill..
Bowser was snapped out of his thoughts while looking at options for the wedding decor when a koopa interrupted him.
"Um..lord Bowser, sir?" They spoke up a bit nervously to get his attention. He glanced down at them with an impatient frown and motioned for them to continue with a simple wave of his hand. "We uh...caught someone who doesn't seem to be from around her but he showed up in our-y-your kingdom and well...we don't know what he is and-"
The koopa was cut off from their rambling by Bowser's loud voice, words filling with an annoyed tone. "Just bring him here and I'll figure it out! It can't be that hard!"
Right away the koopa scurried off before returning, leading two more guards into the throne room who ushered a person dressed in green and blue with them.
"Hey, you can stop pushing, I'm walking!" The little green man spoke. He seemed to be the same kind of creature princess peach was, at least at first glance. And he was kinda...cute...in a tiny person kind of way.
"You. What's your name little guy?" Bowser demanded, towering over the guy as he stood up from his throne and stepped closer to inspect the cowering person.
"L...Luigi...sir" Luigi fumbled over his words as Bowser easily intimidated him. "I don't mean to trespass or anything, see I just got separated from my brother and I'm trying to find him-"
He stopped when Bowser placed a claw gently under his chin and lifted his face to meet his gaze as he looked him over. Bowser then spoke up with a smug look and a confident tone to match.
"Fellas" he spoke to his subjects without taking his eyes of Luigi. "There's been a slight change in the schedule"
Scrambled Eggs: bowser x luigi, mario x donkey kong
inspired by Egg Time by @linadoon-draws
mostly how i thought it would go based on their summary cuz i thought it was mario talking in it
the stork delivers an egg to the wrong house
story under the read more
Scrambled Eggs (also on ao3)
“...”
Mario and Luigi weren’t sure what they were looking at. The brother’s stared at the sizeable egg, innocently sitting in a nest of blankets on their living room couch.
"Weegee...” Mario started, neither brother moving their gaze from the egg.
“Hm?”
“Where did-a you get-a this egg?”
“Stork left it this-a mornin’,” Luigi answered, tilting his head and yawning. The reality of it it all was still catching up to his sleep deprived mind.
“What?!”
                                                 a few hours later
The bros decided they needed coffee to fully process what was going on and, after some breakfast, started brainstorming on what to do.
It couldn’t have been Mario’s; he and Donkey Kong had only been dating for about a month, and neither would’ve had an egg since they were both mammals. Mario was at least 75% sure this world didn’t work like that. Probably.
The red plumber would have thought it was Luigi’s if his bro wasn’t, to his knowledge, single as a pringle. And that still didn’t explain why it would be an egg.
It didn’t look like any Yoshi egg they’d seen before but it wouldn’t hurt to put the word out in case the Storks had somehow mixed up the address and its parents were looking for it.
A quick call to their royal friends and word about their surprise guest was already circulating through the kingdoms, all they had to do was wai-
THWUMP!
The two jumped as something heavy landed outside and made its way to their front door. They shared a look, unsure of who it could be. Disregarding the princesses and Prince Peasely, most royals in this world were pretty big.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
At least they were polite enough to knock. Luigi looked at his brother before nodding, staying back to protect the egg if needed.
Opening the door cast the living room in shadow as the red mario brother looked up, up, up until he saw the Koopa King’s muzzle, eyes almost burning a hole into his face.
“Where is he?”
Mario blinked. “Scusa?”
Bowser huffed, smoke blowing into Mario’s face.
“My brat. Where is he?”
“ Il tuo uovo?” Luigi exclaimed from the couch, no wonder the thing was so huge!
Bowser’s expression softened at the sight of his egg, safe and sound in the younger plumber’s arms as he carried it over.
With a gentleness the brother’s didn’t think he was capable of, Bowser carefully took the egg from Luigi and left.
“...”
“So, you and-a Bow-?”
“Mamma Mia, Mario! I’m not-a dating Bowser!!”
BONUS:
scusa? = excuse me/ sorry?
il tuo uovo? = Your egg?
Beauty and the... Bowser?
Prologue
Once upon a time, in a kingdom of fire and brimstone... the Koopa Kingdom was faced with a terrible fate.
Bowser x Fem!Reader
A/N: I got so excited by this idea that I legit started planning it an hour ago, like fully going through Mario characters to cast. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Fic Masterlist + Prologue (here!) + Chapter 1 + Chapter 2 + Chapter 3 + Chapter 4 + Chapter 5 (coming soon!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once upon a time, in a kingdom of fire and brimstone, music filled the air, for a ball was ongoing in the grand ballroom of the Koopa King's castle.
Despite the known temper and arrogance of the famed King Bowser, there was no denying that he hosted the most grand parties in all the known kingdoms. The elaborate decorations glimmered in the light of the torches, the chandeliers glowed with purple magic, and every guest was dressed in their most impressive outfits in hopes that they may win the King's favour, whether politically or otherwise.
This party was seemingly no different to any other, with the exception of the thunderous storm that raged on as the nobility were tucked safely inside the large ballroom, mingling and preparing for another dance as King Bowser made his entrance. His thundering footsteps garnered every guests' attention, each of them bowing their heads in slight fear and respect as he stood in the monstrously large doorway.
The scales and spikes of his large green shell shined as if they had been freshly polished, with the intimidating claws on his hands and feet in much the same condition. The King's scarlet red hair was combed back, slightly tucked behind the sharp horns on either side of his large head. As his mouth pulled back in a slight smirk, the guests shivered at the sight of his gleaming pointed teeth.
Nonetheless, each guest greeted the King Koopa with a gracious smile, following with a bow or a curtsey before swiftly moving aside to make room for His Majesty to get to his throne and to avoid being hit by his spikey tail that dragged along behind him.
As Bowser sat on his iron throne, his advisors Kammy and Kamek standing obediently at his side, he waved a hand at the orchestra of Boos as a gesture for them to cease their playing. As the song came to a close, the last of the conversations of the party goers quieted as they turned to face the seated King, hanging on to every shift of his body in interest of what he would say.
"Noble guests", Bowser began, his deep voice booming throughout the entire space, "tonight's event has turned out to be one of the most successful yet! It seems like my kingdom is outperforming the lot of you other royals in the crowd. HA!"
Although framed as a joke, Bowser's statement put each of the different kingdom's representatives on edge, as if waiting for the King to wage a war on them at this otherwise enjoyable party. Despite the tension, the crowd laughed politely to please the King, none of them wanting to challenge his temper whilst in the heart of his territory.
"With that in mind, dance. Drink! Enjoy yourselves here! Worry about your impression on me as you're leaving.", Bowser finished. With a flick of his hand, the orchestra began a new song. Each guest worried about the meaning behind the King's final sentence but found their dance partners and took to the floor nonetheless as a show of good will, each noble hoping to gain allyship with the tyrannical yet undeniable powerhouse that was the Koopa Kingdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Partway through the third dance, there was a powerful knock on the heavy metal of the palace doors. The knock, however, was written off as just being the wind storm, and was therefore ignored by the Koopa king, his advisors, and the guests alike. To their surprise, however, and to the guests' fright, the solid iron doors swung open, revealing the figure of a seemingly weak and hunched over old woman.
The woman wore a soaking wet and tattered navy cloak with a rickety old cane held in her hand to support her unstable legs. The cloak's hood was pulled over her head hiding her face from the crowd now facing her completely, looking at her with disgust. She limped her way toward Bowser, his imposing figure beginning to rise from his throne to meet the elderly stranger who, in his eyes, had so rudely intruded on a party that was of a much higher class than the old woman could ever dream of being invited to.
King Bowser's startling height and judgemental leer did not deter the woman as she came to a full stop in front of him, her cane creaking as she leaned her weight onto it.
"I seemed to have lost my way in this horrible storm", the woman's weak and shaky voice spoke, "may you be so kind as to let me stay the night?"
Bowser scoffed in her face, his heavy breath blowing the woman's hair back slightly. "And what exactly would I get in return?" Bowser asked mockingly. At his question, the woman reached a hand into her cloak, retrieving a single daisy from the neighbouring Mushroom Kingdom. "I can only offer my gratitude and this daisy, Your Majesty.", the woman replied, meeting the King's fiery crimson eyes.
Bowser scoffed once. Twice. Then burst out into boisterous laughter that reverberated through each corner of the castle, the guests following his example and breaking out into mocking laughter as well.
"What a brave offer! How truly ridiculous!" Bowser said as he wiped the tears of laughter from his eyes. The King bent over, coming face to face with the woman. His eyes shifted to the daisy still held gently in her hand as if it were the greatest treasure she had known. 'How ridiculous. How could a mere flower ever compare to the heights of luxury I have every day?', King Bowser thought to himself. With a swift backhand, the Koopa smacked the precious flower from the woman's hand. The daisy tumbled to the floor, losing a petal from the fall. Bowser smirked, looking down his nose at the elderly woman, awaiting her reaction.
The woman looked at the flower laying pathetically on the floor, then moved her gaze back to the King's large head. Without uttering a word, the woman began to lift off of the floor, her dirty cloak and simple underdress transforming to a long, sky blue gown in a whirl of golden magic, a small silver tiara and a long glowing wand with a star on the end appearing on the woman's person. The woman's scraggly grey locks melted into platinum blonde hair, ending at her shoulders. Her once wrinkled face smoothed over into a much more youthful yet striking complexion, her tired ocean eyes taking on a much more dangerous gleam. The witch stopped rising once she was above the King's towering height, looking down on him with a rather stoic yet undeniably angry expression on her face.
The guests began running to the heavy door, tripping over each other and themselves to get away from the witch while King Bowser stayed in place, no fear present in his expression. Kammy and Kamek, though, knew much better than to challenge the witch before them. For she was Rosalina. Protector of all of cosmos. The King Koopa took a step back, aiming to charge at the witch looking down at him. "Your Majesty, DON'T-" Kammy tried to warn Bowser, but it came too late.
Bowser made a running start to where Rosalina floated in front and above him. The woman calmly flicked her wrist in his direction, sending the strong leader of the tyrannical Koopa Kingdom flying into the stone wall behind him. Bowser's head hit the wall, shaking the stone bricks violently and rendering the King unconcious for a moment.
Rosalina slowly descended and walked toward the King, who's eyes were only starting to focus back on the powerful woman in front of him. She stopped just short of where Bowser was leaned against the wall as Kamek slid in front of his King and placed his head to his hands on the floor in pleading, Kammy following just after him.
"Please don't kill him, O great protector Rosalina!" Kammy pleaded, keeping her head down but not moving from where she kneeled over in front of the Koopa King. The tension became unbearable as Rosalina stayed silent, only looking down at the King's faithful advisors before moving her gaze back to King Bowser himself, who was now conscious but too injured to move.
Rosalina then turned, slowly walking toward the forgotten daisy that still laid on the floor where it was unceremoniously smacked out of her hand, picking it up and walking back to where the King sat.
"As punishment for your arrogance, disrespect, and uncaring for the struggles of others, I leave you with this, King Bowser of the Koopa Kingdom;" Rosalina spoke in a firm voice, "if you do not learn to truly love another that is not yourself, and if they do not learn to love you back by the time the last petal falls from this daisy, your entire kingdom will be forgotten by everyone, leaving you to truly be absorbed in yourself and yourself only."
With that, the thunder and wind outside the castle picked up as Rosalina rose once again into the air, disappearing into a cloud of blue and gold magic. The storm died then, leaving the three occupants of the ballroom in silence.
Kammy and Kamek rose their heads, rushing over to King Bowser to treat his concussion. With a few whispered magic words from each of them, Bowser regained his thoughts and slowly stood to his full height.
Kamek cleared his throat. "Your Majesty, there must be something we can-" the Magikoopa began, only to be cut off by his King stomping over to a nearby table that held beverages and food and throwing it across the room in the direction of the Boo orchestra players. The ghosts quickly disappeared, rushing through the walls and windows to get away from the wrathful King who had begun smashing their string instruments.
Kammy knew better than to try and reason with the King while he was in this mood, and Kamek wasn't keen on trying to be optimistic again. Both of them watched in silence as Bowser finally tore a portrait of himself, coming down from his violent outburst.
Panting heavily, Bowser looked around the room at the destruction he had caused, then settling his burning gaze on his advisors. He stared at them for a moment as his breathing became slightly stable, before angrily stomping out of the ballroom and up toward the West Wing where his bedroom lay.
Finally left in silence, the two advisors remembered the daisy that had fallen to the ground once again after Rosalina disappeared. Kammy carefully picked the flower up as Kamek quickly retrieved a glass bell jar. As the two magikoopas placed the flower underneath the dome, three more petals fell. Kamek looked toward Kammy, the pair sharing a concerned glance before nodding.
'We can only extend this inevitable deadline for five years extra, Your Majesty. Please make them count.' Kammy thought as she and Kamek combined their powers, placing a spell upon the daisy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Word spread quickly throughout the Koopa Kingdom of the curse placed upon their King. In fear of being completely forgotten and abandoned by the outside world, the majority of citizens fled, leaving the kingdom barren and lonely.
Bowser stared out his tower window, furrowing his brow in badly concealed anger. Despite his best wishes, his eyes became slightly glassy with tears.
'What a fitting curse.' He thought bitterly. 'Who could ever learn to love a beast?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: And that's the prologue! Honestly I'm super proud of this so far, and I'm so excited to write the rest of this story! I hope all of you enjoy this!!!
All My Blossoms
Chapter 1
_
His chair jolted back with him immediately after the doors slammed open. Luigi quickly sorted himself out and noticed everyone's unimpressed glares at the guest. A grumbled apology made it past his awkward expression as he sat in a comically large chair.
“Now that His Majesty has arrived,” Mario coughed a 'finally' into his fist, Peach continued. “We may begin the negotiations of the treaty." Diplomatic yet kind as ever.
Thankfully, over the afternoon only one fight had to be stopped between Bowser and Mario and negotiations were added, removed or changed smoothly. Right at that moment, they had the jovial tone of sporting buddies rather than leaders with a feud. Then one last request was placed. The Koopa King expressed his concern of not having a partner’s help.
Kamek is good but the kids wear him out too much for saying he has to be an adviser too. He needs someone to look after his children while he attends royal affairs with the magikoopa or to go in his place so he can spend more time with them. This level of security and trust can only be given by a marriage. That way, they can’t harm his kingdom or kids and he can’t hurt them without breaking the treaty. Mixed reactions painted everyone’s faces with Peach considering but hesitant and Mario struggling to hold in his definitely not royal meeting appropriate response. The younger twin held his brother’s shoulder in reassurance.
“I’m not asking it to be you, Princess. Not unless you’re up for it. It only needs to be someone important to the kingdom to ensure no funny business from me.” Carefully, she ruled out who couldn’t go.
Her, for starters, unless there truly was no one else. Mario is with her and neither man would agree. Toadette had high-ish status. But was it enough to garante peace?
“I-I’ll do it?” All eyes snapped to the voice even as quiet as it was. Anyone may have mistaken him for his brother based on the crimson rapidly growing on Luigi’s face. Again, mixed reactions across the room. Similarly to the last shock, Peach was cautiously in thought while Mario went straight to talking them both out of it. All Bowser could do was stare at the plumber in confusion.
“There is no one else, is there Princess? I could see the cogs turning. I can’t let you go, you’ve got your own kingdom. That’s what this treaty is about. My status is important enough to make sure he doesn’t hurt me but removed enough it won’t hurt the kingdom.”
What? Mario is certain he’s never heard his brother talk that much in one go before. Even the king was sceptical, all he knew was the green one was terrified of everything. Especially him.
“You really don’t mind this, Weegi?”
Everything in his body screamed no but his head knows it's the only option. He nods and looks his brother in the eyes to agree. It's not that either of them think Luigi's at risk, more so that they know this isn't Bowser’s or Luigi's ideal future. How come he gets the love of his life when his fratellino is subjected to being a political pawn? Above all of this is Mario's trust in him. If Luigi sincerely says he's okay with this then Mario trusts him. He's okay with it too.
“How much political knowledge do you have, Greenie?"
Luigi answers honestly by claiming to only know a bit from joining these meetings. On the conditions that he has lessons from Kamek or himself, Bowser is the last to agree.
~
A month before the wedding Luigi has to move to the castle. Frankly it's more of a formality, time for the grooms to adjust to each other and for the staff and children to get used to their future king consort. Meeting the Koopalings (properly) was by far the worst part of this for the plumber. Anxieties clawed at him from every angle, the most concerning being ‘am I a dad now?’
"Alright, before we go in you need to breathe. I can hear you worrying, stop. What has you so worked up?" Straining in his chest proved the king correct about breathing, did he care or was he annoyed?
“They won't like me. I'm essentially their step-dad and Mario's brother, and human, and-"
"Woah, woah! Greenie, chill. True, it might take them time to come to terms with it. Hate you? Maybe. But any disrespect to you will break the treaty." He stopped for a minute. "Step-dad? This is a political marriage. You're more a glorified babysitter. Don't sweat it.” The words barely registered with the anxious man as the large common room doors opened. Several big sofas messily decorated the floor (which was not how it looked when Bowser left it) along with many random objects. Drawings were piled up in various spots, a few small machines (or robots?) moved around with different levels of competence and so much more. Nine Koopas occupied the room, one of whom could not look more tired.
"Sire! You're back! And you, the monsters are your problem now." A staff was swiftly pointed in Luigi's face.
"Sì?”
Suddenly one of the 'monsters' announces to his siblings that their dad is home and races to hug his father as everyone else brings their attention to the new comer. Question after question abuses the ears of the three adults.
"Shut it, twerps! We're gonna sit an’ talk about it. Out the door way, now!
Once comfortably spread amongst the couches, or in Lemmy's case the floor, Bowser opens the conversations to anyone willing not to interrupt each other. Wendy quickly goes first.
“Why are you here?” Simple question, Luigi answers as such.
“Why you,” Junior cuts in, “why not mama?”
Bowser takes that one, much to Luigi’s relief. Each koopaling asks different things, Ludwig sticking to political side of things. Iggy had to be steered back to the original topic after finding out that Luigi dabbles in engineering, both of them excited to share their interests. Ever annoyed at the lack of a feminine presence Wendy through jabs at him, only for him to shyly admit that he enjoys make up and dresses. Junior doesn’t speak after his first enquiry.
Just as their dad went to call it a night, Ludwig asked his only personal question.
“I get it’s a political marriage but doesn’t that mean you’re our father too now?” Annoyance and anger pointedly obvious in the teen’s tone.
Everything in him tenses at the realisation that the worst has happened; he’s now a dad and the kids hate him. One of Bowser’s hands squeezed his while he reassured his son that Luigi is only their parent if they want him to be. For now he’s just a helping hand. Kamek dismissed the children and led them out the door.
On Junior’s way out he whispered to the elder koopa resulting in the boy running over to the fiancés. The young koopa looked up at his father and asked if he no longer has a ‘mama’ that would play with him or praise his art. Luigi’s heart broke alongside the boy’s voice, answering before Bowser could.
“Junior, I promise I will play with you and look at your drawings. Instead of a ‘mama’ you are welcome to see me as a ‘papa’ if you want.” Both koopas stared at him, one with excitement and the other with something. Confusion? Shock? Fondness? All three seemed to shine in Bowser’s eyes.
“Really?! But you said you’re not our dad?”
“Only because I know this is a big change. If you don’t want me too be, then I won’t be. If you do, then I will.”
No one had expected him to say it, especially this quickly or willingly. However he found he was just as sure about this as he was about the deal with Bowser.
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
~
Kamek approached him the day after to give him a tour and explain some of his new duties. It thoroughly surprised the magikoopa when Luigi took everything in and seemed serious about helping Bowser rule. Hesitancy about the plan still flowed through him, specifically because of it being Luigi. His son deserved to marry for love, not marry the brother of Mario. Peach would have been more ideal, at least one of them had feelings. But, the way Luigi was with the koopalings and new responsibilities put him a little more at ease. The old koopa even noticed that he treated the staff well despite the comments they jeered at him. He also noted that he would pretend to not hear, only to (albeit subtlety) deflate once it was just the two of them again.
“Finally, we have arrived at the private garden. Only the royal family may enter here, myself included. As king consort this extends to you now, sire.”
Monotone words barely made it past Luigi’s ears. Calmly flowing water fell from a central fountain, grand in its design yet modest in size, pallets of flowers painted along the pebble path. On the opposite end to the opening sat a bench clearly made for the king. Awe froze him, letting him bask in the slice of Heaven.
The magikoopa chuckled beside him, “beautiful isn’t it, sire?”
“Favoloso. Sì, very. There’s nothing like this at my cottage.”
“Junior told me about last night-“
“Ah, scusi! I didn’t mean to overstep, he was upset so I tried to cheer him up.” Kamek’s stoic look easily slipped into a smirk.
“I was only going to thank you, sire. Lord Junior has had a complex relationship with parental figures. He never should have been lied to about his mother being Princess Toadstool, it makes him feel unwanted. You made him feel wanted again, and his papa will be less distracted from now on. For that, I thank you.”
No words in either language came to the Italian. The sudden emotional turn froze him all over again. Out of seven siblings, a father, a grandfather and a castle full of staff Junior felt unwanted until he of all people showed up. All he’d done was agree to look at paintings, how could the bar of a prince be so low in what was an obviously loving family? Then again, eight children and a kingdom means time is just as important as love. It dawned on him that he hadn’t only agreed to look at paintings. All he’d done was agree to give the family time for showing love that they held for each other. Junior may have asked him to be his ‘papa’ but that didn’t make him one, he didn’t feel like one, he was just there so his actual father could be with him.
Goodbyes between the advisers were said on autopilot. Registering that he was alone and moving towards the bench was just as mindless. Nothing but the knowledge of what he’d done filled his thoughts. It is important to understand that he didn’t regret the agreement, but that this was his first real opportunity to truly process it. Not only had he signed up to be an adviser but also a king, a husband and a dad. He signed to be a symbol of peace, as an insurance policy. Dread and shock forced themselves together in his head, a jagged mesh blocking out anything else. But there was no regret. For all the consequences (good or bad), he’d do it again every time if it meant stability within both kingdoms. If it could provide stability within a family.
A weight that wasn’t his own pushed on the wooden seat, it’s subtle creak snapping him from the thoughts. Aches coursed through his hands from gripping tangled hair and his eyes stung similarly to his scalp. From beside him, his ragged breaths were eased into a normal rhythm by a patient voice. Luigi was no stranger to having panic attacks but having others help makes escaping them easier. He thanks Bowser, not needing to look up to know who was there, receiving a gruff ‘welcome’ in return.
“Wanna talk about it, usually helps the kids after these.” The green clad man gestures awkwardly between them. “Hey! Imma catch, who wouldn’t wanna marry me? And don’t say Peach!” Luigi chuckled.
“No, no. It’s a, big, adjustment is all. You get a break and peace, I get a job, a husband and bambini.”
“I get a husband too, ya know? See, both getting screwed over.”
“Still not even.” He bumped his shoulder against Bowser’s bicep. Comfortable silence blanketed them for minutes and minutes, neither willing to break it. Half an hour passed before the king was called to his duties and Luigi was left alone in the garden.
okay my prior post regarding Wendy's and Luigi's father-daughter relationship had me itching to get something out of my system. i hope yall enjoy this much-longer-than-anticipated mess.
i apologize for any spelling mistakes, this is absolutely a first draft that i haphazardly typed out in my notes app on my phone, and it was absolutely not beta read at all. i typed out words and immediately did not associate them with myself any longer. i hope it's coherent lmao.
_________________________________________
Today marked the Koopa Kingdom's first year of peace celebrations with the Mushroom Kingdom. The newly established peace, that officially came into force with Luigi's marriage to King Bowser, was to be celebrated with a festival lasting no less than three days. Festivities would begin in the Koopa Kingdom, the Mushroom Royal Family being invited as honoured guests, before they would shift over to the Mushroom Kingdom. The first event of this celebration would be the Royal Parade, supposed to start within the hour - yet something was still amiss.
"Where is she?!"
Bowser was getting impatient. He, Luigi, and all of their children were patiently waiting for the last member of the family to appear so that the Royal Parade could commence. Wendy, however, was still nowhere to be seen. An unusual fact in itself, as she was, apart from Ludwig, one of Bowser's most punctual children.
And yet she wasn't here.
"That's it, I'm going up there to check on her." Bowser started walking in the direction of the private wing when Kamek flew in front of him, causing him to stop.
"I would not suggest for you to go, Your Majesty!" he said, slightly adjusting his grip on the broomstick he sat on. "The princess is still getting ready. Rushing her will do no good."
"How long could she possibly take?! She's never this late!"
As the discussion between the King and his advisor continued, Luigi sighed. He could hear the murmurs of the children behind him, theorizing on why Wendy was so late, and Bowser's impatience was a force in and of itself. The room they were in was a little stuffy, too, and his royal suit's fabric was just a bit too tight and itchy for Luigi's liking. All in all, it was uncomfortable to be here.
But it was true that Wendy's tardiness was a cause for worry. She had always made it clear that punctuality was important to her, going so far as to scold and chastise her brothers for their tardiness. Her prolonged absence was making Luigi believe there may be more to it than a simple 'she's still getting ready'.
He, once again, pulled his suit away from resting so closely to his neck, and proceeded to quickly approach his husband. Quietly laying a hand on his arm, he pulled both King and advisor's attention to him.
"Maybe I could go check on her?"
Luigi saw Bowser's face turn to surprise for a second before Kamek interrupted them both with enthusiasm.
"Oh, that would be most wonderful, Your Kindness! I'm sure the princess would appreciate you checking in," he clapped. "Please, just this way."
Kamek pointed towards the private wing as he moved out of Luigi's way. The King Consort barely got a few steps far when he heard Bowser exclaim his frustrations.
"Oh, so you'll let him check on her and not me?!"
"You would not be in any condition to help Her Highness, Your Crankiness."
"Oh, come on!"
With a fond shake of his head, Luigi left the King and his advisor to their argument. He had a daughter to get to, after all.
Wendy stood in front of her mirror, analyzing and criticizing her royal dress on every perceived imperfection she could find. Today's celebration was important to both the Kingdom and her fathers, and nothing less than perfection would do. Even so, as she stood in her dress, she couldn't help the sinking feeling in her stomach.
She was no stranger to formal events. She had worn plenty dresses to different Koopa festivities over the years, and had also attended Mushroom events since her father's marriage to Luigi. This day and festival was not in any way unusual or unknown, so why was she hesitating?
The door to her room started opening, and Wendy, in immediate panic, ran to her vanity to accessorize as she called out that she wasn't ready. Expecting the King at her door, she stilled as she heard a different voice call out to her.
"It's just me, principessa."
Luigi, in his royal regalia, entered her room - she couldn't help but see how well his suit fit him, from the colours to the composition. It made her wonder why she couldn't feel the same way about herself.
"What's wrong?"
Snapping out of her thoughts, she tried to come up with an excuse that was believable; anything that could explain why she was so late, why she wasn't ready. Despite her efforts, however, her mind stayed blank, and she slowly deflated as a light shame crept up within her.
A gentle hand came to rest upon her shoulder, turning her towards Luigi, who embraced her. She reciprocated the gesture, letting him pat her head assuringly as he spoke.
"Why didn't you call us if you were having trouble? Your father and I could help."
"Papa wouldn't understand..."
Wendy closed her eyes, thoughts running wild at how her father would have reacted had it been him here.
"And what about me, hm?"
She looked up at Luigi. His face was calm, inquisitive, no frustration or anger anywhere. Gentle, and kind, and most of all understanding.
She stepped out of his embrace, choosing to look down at her dress, taking the skirt's fabric in her hand as she moved it around. Silence enveloped them both as she gathered her thoughts. Luigi watched her quietly, if only to make sure her thoughts didn't turn sour.
Wendy spoke, but slowly; her hesitation in revealing her thoughts clear.
"I feel... uncomfortable."
She stepped back in front of the mirror, letting her eyes wander all over again.
"With the dress?"
Silence.
Luigi stepped forward, standing behind his daughter in the mirror's reflection. Laying a gentle hand upon her shoulder again, he asked her:
"What are you feeling right now?"
Wendy's eyes caught Luigi's in the reflection. The sincere and worried look on his face broke down her defenses, tears appearing in her eyes as her voice wavered.
"I just... I feel like I don't fit. I'm the only girl here, the only one who likes dresses and makeup. I have no one I can share that with..."
Slowly, her voice faltered and turned quiet as she continued.
"And... I see the other princesses at events. They always look so formal... so elegant... and I..."
"Stop right there."
Wendy flinched a little at the strong and even tone of her stepfather's voice, despite the gentleness it was said with. She didn't dare to look at him, a small part of her afraid he wouldn't understand either.
"You are just as elegant and formal as any other princess," Luigi started. "Your dresses don't change that, and your body doesn't either."
She completely deflated at this statement, her insecurities having come to light now.
"If you feel alone, if you have doubts, then you can always share them with your father and me. We will help you in any way we can, you know that. We love you, and we want you to be happy."
Luigi turned her towards him once again, gently lifting her face with his other hand. He made sure to keep eye contact with her as he continued, speaking in a softer tone than before.
"Please don't compare yourself to other princesses. Your worth isn't tied to your dresses or your manners or anything else. You are enough, just by being you."
Wendy sniffled, a tear starting to run down her face. Luigi embraced her again, whispering reassurances to her as he held her tight. Intermittent kisses to her head helped calm her as she cried, her face hidden in her father's chest.
It took a few minutes before the tears and sniffles ceased, and a few more until she separated herself from him. She rubbed at her eyes harshly, before letting Luigi wipe the rest of her tears away. He led her back to her vanity, sitting her down as he started organizing the slight mess that was her jewellery.
"Feeling a little better?" Luigi asked her, noting the still uncertain face she made. While she was no longer crying, her brows were still furrowed in thought, as if she were unconvinced yet.
Wendy gave an affirmative response, but it seemed the worries weren't gone yet. Putting the last of her jewelley back into its box, he had an idea.
"Amore," he started, turning back to his daughter, "I want to show you something. Wait here for me?"
She could only nod in confusion, watching as Luigi shuffled out of her room quickly.
It didn't take long for her stepfather to return, shocking the young Koopa with the long, flowy black and green dress he was wearing. Red and gold accents all around tied the colours together, the shoulder ruffles being the same as they were on her own dress. He had also abandoned the small ponytail he wore before, allowing his hair to rest on his shoulders naturally.
"I figured this might make you more comfortable," Luigi said, the slight blush on his face betraying the casual confidence he tried to put on. "You won't be the only one wearing a dress tonight."
He walked over to her, picking up one of her brushes and choosing an eyeshadow palette. Gently instructing her to close her eyes, he started applying the makeup to her eyelids.
Wendy's entire demeanor had changed to curiosity and excitement. As Luigi helped her with makeup and accessorizing, she asked question after question - the King Consort dutifully answering each one as they came. He told her of how he found that he liked wearing dresses, how Peach had taught him everything he knew about makeup, how he had several dresses in his wardrobe that Bowser didn't know about yet.
When they finished, Wendy was as ready as she could ever be for the celebration. She looked over herself in the mirror, swaying and twirling in happiness and newfound confidence. Luigi watched her with a smile on his face, glad that he was able to help her in some way.
As he made his way out of the room, Wendy told him to wait. She insisted on putting some eyeshadow on him as well, so we can match, and he was more than willing to oblige her. He sat at the same vanity as she had, letting her do the same as he had done; the only difference being that he preferred lipgloss over lipstick.
The two now made their way to the rest of the family, still talking about Luigi's history with femininity. Wendy looked up at her stepfather as he told a story, any last worry left melting away in happiness. She had someone to share this with now - someone who understood, someone who was willing to try new things with her. Without a warning, she tightly embraced him with a grin on her face.
"Thank you, daddy," she whispered to him, lightly purring as he affectionately rubbed her back and head in their hold.
With a kiss to her head, he answered "Never a problem, principessa."
Making sure that there was no gloss residue on her head, the two smiled at each other and walked back to the rest of their family, hand in hand.
"Alright, that is it! I'm going back there to get them now!"
Bowser was done with waiting. The parade was about to start any minute now, and Luigi and Wendy still weren't back. What could be taking them this long anyway? It was ridiculous.
"My liege, please wait a little longer. I'm sure the King and Princess are almost here!" Kamek responded, causing Bowser to let out another huff.
"It's been more than thirty minutes, how long could they possibly take-"
Bowser stilled as he caught sight of his husband and daughter finally arriving together. Wendy looked as elegant and royal as she did for every occasion like this one, her face happy and excited, but what shocked him the most was Luigi. When he left, he still wore the suit that he had Kamek make for him - but watching him walk towards him in a dress, the flowy skirt trailing behind him, had Bowser breathless somehow. It was an unfamiliar sight, but one he could definitely get used to.
"I'm sorry it took us so long," Luigi said, apologetic eyes looking up at Bowser. "We had a little situation to deal with, but it got sorted out."
The Koopa King was unable to reply at all, eyes stuck and staring at Luigi in surprise and wonder. He barely noticed as his husband turned to Kamek to confirm everything was ready for the parade to start, nor did he process his children swarming the Consort in support, complimenting him in any way they could.
"Of course, the parade can start whenever you are seated and ready, Your Gentleness," Kamek spoke. Guiding the children to their carriages, he let the King have a short moment with his beloved.
Luigi looked up at Bowser - the blush on the King's face made him blush as well. Assuring him that he would explain later, he took Bowser's arm to lead him to their own carriage. With the Royal Parade, the celebrations could finally start.
Though there was much to explain still, and even more experiences to be had, Luigi was glad he chose this path. He couldn't help the grin that overcame him as he saw his kingdom and his family - the hope and warmth that bloomed within him testament to his happiness. No matter what may come in the future, they would face it together, as one.
I think we're all missing the potential of traveling with Bowser for royal duties of some kind and having to go somewhere really cold.
Turtles don't like the cold right? So, just going with Bowser and at first he's fine because the airship is warm and he has a lot of natural heat thanks to being able to breathe fire. However the more he's there he gets all sluggish and complains and refuses to move because he's freezing. He's standing in one spot like >:( trying his best to not slip into some weird koopa form of hibernation.
Even better if you're nice and warm so he cuddles up with you like you're a heater or something.
I know theoretically there's spells and magic that can keep him toasty but the potential is right there-
I love this so much.
So reptiles, since they can't maintain their own body temperature, seek out warmth. Be that sunlight or a very warm human cough cough. Cold temperatures slow them down. They become sluggish. Dormant almost.
So just imagine a very slow moving Bowser who takes a while to reply to comments and doesn't engage much in conversation because he just can't. And if someone asks him what's wrong he just mumbles a "nothin'" and returns to zoning out. The King of the Koopas will never admit to being bested by the cold. Never. Nope. He'd do his best to act his normal boisterous self.
I feel like he also wouldn't admit the effect freezing temperatures have on him to you. He'd simply try and warm up by himself. He'd try and keep fire in his throat and let the heat bubble. His fists would be tightly closed and he'd slouch a little bit more. Anything to trap any remaining heat.
Well, he'd try to be discrete about it but there's only so much someone his size can hide, especially if it's from his partner.
And this would have to be in a foreign place since the Dark Lands aren't know to have any cold areas. It's all volcanoes and fire and charred land. To get Bowser is such a state - he'd have to be in a foreign kingdom.
When whatever meeting or negotiation is complete, or as much done with as his completely out of it state allows (you'd probably have to finish any remaining phrases in his stead), he'd walk straight back to the guest room with you in tow. If there's stairs in the way you'd have to help push him up them because he'd definitely struggle.
And when you get to the room you'd have to get straight to work.
Bowser would collapse on the bed, that's a given, so it'd be up to you to wrap him in blankets. And there's have to be many blankets. Pillows, furs, anything and everything to trap heat it. Insulation if you will. And, you've he'd use you as a heater - well that's exactly what happens.
Imagine snuggled with him, his arms fully wrapped around you and you pressed against his scales. At that point Bowser is acting on impulse and instinct. He's cold to the touch with the only remaining heat being what's left of the fire in his chest, and realistically you'd end up shivering too. Heat spreads and it'd spread out of you. However, eventually, that heat will bounce right back with the layers of blankets around you.
You, quite literally, will be a heater for him.
It won't be enough heat to fully energise him, but he'd be able to focus a bit more. It'd be enough heat for the two of you to make it back to the airships in the morning or however long you'd choose to doze for.
And when you do get back, just imagine being wrapped with a giant, Bowser-sized blanket as he cuddles up with you. Both of you would be able to get comfortably warm in the comfortable heat of the captain's quarters.
Cafe
[A/n.If you didn't see the au I made for this check that out reading so it makes more sense, right here]
Summary:you recently started up up cafe in Koopa kingdom, your twin had one in mushroom kingdom to. You wanted to start fresh away from home and family. But met a unexpected guest on your first day open
Type:scenario:Bowser x male reader:Bowser Jr & male reader(platonic)
~
It was hard leaving behind your family but if you wanted to finally start your own cafe you had to, and being babied isnt fun either. But starting your own cafe in the Koopa troopa kingdom had been fun, surprisingly it the people were really nice and helped get you supplies. It was sun down and the day before you get finished decorating, some people did suggest a waiting area because your cafe would be an easy place to wait for someone since it's right in town square. What freaked the people out is that king Bowers castle was right there to, you were freakishly close to King Bowser actually that's why the town square isn't houses but more like post offices and stuff to do with mailing and what not. But getting the cafe was easy and the spot you picked was the cheapest since it was so old and close to the castle. But on to current time, you just flipped the sign looking over seeing Tanaka not to far from you at the other spot at the counter while looking over you spotted a glance of Drew struggling in the kitchen with who knows what, it's Drew you never know when it comes to him. You looked back at the door nervously you've never done this without family, well you have your friends with you but they make you nervous to, Tanaka is a unfiltered half mushroom that's basically ready for any and everything, and Drew is basically a cannon he's pretty violent, is literally being haunted, and has some lose screws. Oh and they both have angry issues so thats fun. But starting a new journey with them is more nerve-wracking not because they can be scary but because their confidence will casue things to happen that your not ready for but nonetheless it's fun. Tanaka gently layed a hand on your shoulder. You looked over seeing the worried look in his eyes.
"You alright?"
You nodded hearing the kitchen doors open.
"If you seen me through the window struggling....no you didn't"
Drews booming voice echoed through the small quiet Cafe.
"I think we all knew you were struggling"
Before Drew could say anything he was rushed in the kitchen by Tanaka since the front door open. Looking at who came in, to your surprise it was Bowser Jr he looked a little lost.
"Hi welcome to the (c/n) Cafe!"
You welcomed him with a genty and warm voice, just like your mom did.
"Hi, your the new cafe right?"
He was curious
"Yep! Just opened today your our first customer actually"
He seemed happy to hear that, and smiled big at you. Maybe he was just happy there's finally a Cafe close to home or maybe because you were so nice or just the thought of being first made him happy. Either way he was quite excited to be there
"Oh yeah, do you have a waiting area? I heard you might have"
"Oh yes of course it's tight over there"
You pointed to the waiting area allowing Bowser Jr to happily make his way over there. You chuckled happy that your first customer was so nice. As the hours went by more people came. What surprised you the most is that Drew wasn't wearing a shirt just an apron and some jeans, along with combat boots of course. He was always doing something stupid or weird and this time was both. But as the day went on you started to ignore his werid clothing habits, at least he wasn't do his job in a full blown business suit like usual. But the time the sun was setting Bowser Jr had fallen asleep. Your last customer of the day walked in you didn't look up instantly but when you did it was a shock. The King was standing in front of you, kinda towering you. You had to stay formal though even if you were kinda intimidated.
"Hi, welcome to (c/n) Cafe how mat I help you?"
Bowser was a little shocked by how calm you were.
"I'm here for Bowser Jr"
Your face lit up.
"Oh, your his dad. Well he's right over there, sound asleep"
You watched Bowser walk over to Bowser Jr. Seeing Bowser gently pick up Bowser Jr was adorable, you just gotta remember that even the toughest people have a soft side, and Bowsers was hid son.
"Holy shit"
You looked over at Tanaka a little startled. Seeing he was looking at Drew you looked over only to freeze.
"Drew what did you do"
"It isn't mine"
Drew had a dry bone head, he wasn't holding it....he just dropped it that's why.
"Where did you get that!!"
