Rebekah was probably the one who cared about Kol the most. I bet it's because they're closer in age and share the same status in their family.

While Rebekah is apart of the coveted "Always and Forever" trio, she is still one of "the babies". For centuries, she and Kol were at the mercy of their brothers' choices. Rebekah was favored, but she had as little say as Kol. They were constantly told "listen to your big brothers and do as your told. They have a much smaller age gap than their older siblings. They're only 2 years apart, vs how Elijah, Finn and Klaus have a much larger gap. Growing up, the two of them and Henrik played with one another. They had a different bond. More friends than "big brother/baby sister".

Rebekah was also daggered for every time Klaus got upset with her. Just as Kol was. She knows the pain he's in.

It seems at times that Rebekah is the only one who cares about Kol. She risks her own safety and life to try to bring him back. Rebekah is protective of all her brothers, but she knows Elijah and Klaus can take care of themselves. Kol needs the most help.

He is clearly just as fond of her. I love the way he teases her after her night out with Matt. And the way he always comes to save her. Rebekah was the first of the "Always and Forever" trio to actually treat him as family.

—aeruthien pulled me back into TO, got feels, went through tag, and started an au where I ignore canon lol and Kol gets to finish his dagger and! They! Dagger! Klaus! Like — I’m so INTERESTED in this trio; Kol & Rebekah & Elijah living together in a era where Nik is the one daggered and put in coffin. Like. Holy heck. I’m so invested. I want to see it. i have so many thoughts like elijah agreeing to it??? the agony it must have put through to do that to klaus, and how conflicted rebekah must be, its gonna be So Good im SO FCKING EXCITED. like holy shit, can you imagine?? those three?? living in a world with daggered klaus. kol is the only one truly happy, lol, and even then... he gets dampered(?) idk. im not entirely happy with how the wip is currently going but could care less, because i love the idea so much and i can always go back and edit/write it better. what i love so much is that i start off with the opening “the tyrant has been overthrown” kol being Exaggerate as f (it runs in the family <3) and happy and lol, the other sibs not being as overjoyed. i am going with gen for this fic...but v obviously going to have some incest overtones ahaha considering who the hell these are. like hell yeah <3 some kolbekah and then...perhaps...kolijah...EITHER WAY THIS FIC IS GONNA BE SO FUN!!! IM SO EXCITED!!!
