"The Killing of a Sacred Deer" Review

I watched "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. It stars Colin Farrell as Steven Murphy, Nicole Kidman as Anna Murphy, Barry Keoghan as Martin, Sunny Suljic as Bob Murphy, Raffey Cassidy as Kim Murphy and Alicia Silverstone as Martin's mother. From IMDb "Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behavior of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister. " This is a very odd film. Admittedly Yorgos Lanthimos makes very odd films. I like his films. I like this film. These characters are strange. Martin is very strange. I guess you could say it is a horror film. I'm wondering if this is Colin Farrell's oddest film and oddest characterization. I have "Alps", "Kinette" and "The Lobster" on my to-be-watched shelves. I'm very curious about Colin Farrell in "The Lobster". I like the cinematography. I like the dialogue but again, as in other films by Yorgos Lanthimos, the dialogue can be quite odd. Questions and statements made seem totally odd, not right, disturbing. This film is disturbing. Lots of people really didn't like this film. I can understand that.

A quick flashback page, to a younger Pacelle and Kinette, mostly drawn to take a break from the actual story, which I’ve pre-drawn fifteen pages for (and it gets kinda heavy from page 18 onwards).

To avoid confusion, Pacelle is a girl. However, Rosian girls are not allowed to learn swordsmanship, so Kinette is lying about who Pacelle is, to make sure she gets advantages that Kinette was denied. This is also why Pacelle isn’t allowed to speak - the fact that her voice won’t ever break would eventually give her away and Kinette is wise enough to think ahead.

TeleMiracle 45 has raised over 3 million dollars so far. one community of 17 people raised over 20,000.00 dollars for the charity. Sask has a population 1.174 people in 2019. The televised telethon has still a few hours to go. I am so proud of my province and the good work that Telemiracle does. Thank you Saskatchewan and the Kinsmen and Kinettes and all the people of Sask.

Creating Moodboards

I gathered references from Pinterest to make a moodboard on google slides. I specifically chose these images of characters as they’re style is what I wanted to go for. I like the armour and the concept of these designs. My thoughts about how I wanted to depict this character and how she will look, I was mind mapping an array of ideas for the structure, colour and appearance of Kinette and her suit, I was thinking towards an armoured suit (like Iron Man) or a power/energy suit (like Green Lantern), but having a armoured-fusion suit idea sounded a lot better and I needed to know how I could pull this off by designing the suit. The colouration of the suit, I like the scheme of red and black and having some elements of metal silver so it doesn’t look plain. With her appearance, I want Kinette to be left unmasked and her suit to cover neck to toe.

My plan of concept for her suit was to make it look unique and match with her powers and name. I pictured her armour to be quite broad around curtain areas like the shoulders, shins, forearms and upper chest.

I want to design two suits, The Energy suit and The Upgraded suit. The Energy version is a powered morph-suit with some . It has a built-in pack on her back, when activated from her powers, the suit forms around her body. This version is inspired from a comic book style version of the suit, but putting more detail on it. The Upgraded version. These are linking to the style of MCU and DCEU costumes as the designers come up with new and original depictions of the characters costume.

We anticipate a high volume of sales while cards are not available in-store. To streamline the process, cards will only be available in sets of 2, 4 or 8 for each game. Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs are the country’s largest all Canadian service groups, made up of active community volunteers. Members work together to serve the community’s greatest need by promoting service, fellowship, family values and national pride. We meet every other Wednesday from 6.30pm (Social) - 7:30pm (Dinner).
