Tumblr media
Characters: Gon Freecs, Killua Zoldyck Type: Crack?, Headcanons, Gn!reader
omg turning off anon rqs was a total accident im so sorry you guys 😭 and by main 2 im assuming you mean for hxh
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Gon Freecs
you put this poor boy under so much stress with your bad luck 😭😭😭
your constant dying is so traumatizing to him, especially since no one remembers your previous deaths so it's like the first time every time
i think Gon would have good hearing considering he fishes and hunts and stuff so he has no issue understanding you
"mfnfffnnnhhnfnffnm" "they said they want chicken wings"
as far as you being poor he can kind of relate to you because he wasn't exactly the richest person back on Whale Island
but geez he didn't think it could ever get THAT bad
he offers to help you any way he can, often inviting you to have dinner with him and the others/Aunt Mito
Killua Zoldyck
No matter how hard he tries he literally can never understand what you're saying, even when everyone else seems to
"hrrmgngfffnrrnnffmf" "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING"
every time you die he's so confused
like how does it even happen why are you always dying in ridiculous ways
his reaction to you being poor is probably like "haha L"
and if you have bad parents he can sympathize bc his family isn't great either
but also it's normalized to him so he's not much help
he probably asks you stupid questions
"you're poor? What the hell do you do for fun?" "If you're poor why do your parents keep having kids?"
you can't even answer that last one, it makes no sense to you either

𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘴:

25: “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘵 4 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘮.. 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦?”
Rain pelted down onto the roof of the rundown house. You and Hisoka were out late looking for a certain person, but you guys had decided to keep going the next day even though Hisoka could have probably kept searching. It was extremely obvious that you were tired, and your feet were aching. Searching from 9am that morning, to 2 am at night took quite a toll. Hisoka knew about a slight run down house not far from the place you guys were scavenging through, so you guys decided to stake it out there. There had been a storm coming in also, so it just worked out anyways.
A strike of thunder hitting disturbingly close nearby, making you jump a bit. It was quite early in you and Hisoka’s relationship, not to the comfort level of sleeping in the same bed as eachother for extended periods of time. Hisoka mentioned sleeping in the same bed earlier, but you shut the thought down immediately. You just didn’t feel.. ready? At the time.
It was nearing about four am now, and the rain hadn’t let up. You hugged, swallowing your pride for a moment and stood up. You wrapped the scragged, thin blanket around yourself that had already been here when you and Hisoka had arrived. You slowly walked out of the room, soft steps making their way to the room next door. His room was only a door down, since it was a rather small little shelter in the middle of nowhere.
You creaked open the door to reveal the sleeping clown, shirtless. Your cheeks flushed red a tiny bit, as you opened the door more. You took soft steps towards the bed, him being groggily awake as you got to the edge of the bed.
“Hisoka…” You whispered, placing a soft hand on his shoulder. He turned to place his tired eyes on you, raising a brow. “What..? It's 4am.. what could you possibly need?” He said in a tired, deep voice. Another loud boom of thunder came over, and seemed like it shook the roof. “I see.” The magician grabbed you, wrapping you in his arms.
“I can't believe you woke me up at.. 4am to cuddle cause you were scared. Should I be scared?” Usually, it was Hisoka trying to cuddle you. “You should have just gotten in bed with me doll~ I wouldn’t have minded. ♥️” He said in a low voice in your ear. You could easily hear the tiredness seeping through this voice.
Your mouth twitched up slightly, feeling warm in his arms. You weren’t usually the one to cuddle. But maybe, you could get used to it if it was with Hisoka.

Stealing Killua’s turtlenecks
-I have risen from the dead to make this post specifically -i can’t get over how adorable this boy is (in his own right lmao) -bullet points because I am too tired to write an actual one-shot (it’s 2:45 in the morn lmaooooo) -established relationship + aged up
Tumblr media
-killua’s shirts look very comfy, be honest here lmao -he wears them all the time except when it’s sweltering hot (like on Whale Island--it’s way too hot there) -just seeing Killua bask in sunlight by the windowsill on a stormy night makes you wonder how comfy his shirts are -when Killua is off to have lunch and train with Gon, you decline -’I’m taking an active rest day today, you guys have fun’ -pfft, the heck is an active rest day? Killua has no clue. He brushes it off in favour of shrugging and bidding you a good day -that’s when you rummage through Killua’s room and find his shirts -they smell nice, like candy and chocolates (but not in a sense to overpower your nose) -it’s a soft smell and reminds you of childhood -killua’s shirts are very soft, you can’t help but flop on his bed and pull up the turtleneck -it’s sooooo soft -no wonder he wears them so often! -if it weren’t for the cool autumn air though, you would be sweating like crazy -it starts to rain outside as you lazily lay in bed -you wonder if Killua and Gon will stay out to train or come back home early -eventually you begin to fall asleep -it’s very cold in Killua’s room since he left the window open, and with the rain pelting outside, a draft causes it to feel like Siberia -but Killua’s turtleneck is warm and soft against your skin, like a warm hug that refuses to let you go -and his scent? Well, it feels like Killua is there with you, even though you know he’s out and about training/having lunch -eventually you fall asleep cuddled in the sheets -it’s too late when you realise the door has opened. Your eyes snap open and the familiar voice of your boyfriend fills your ears -”(Y/n)?” he calls. “I brought you something back for lunch. You’re always hungry, so I thought you’d want some. It’s your favourite.” -usually, you’d burst from your room and race through the halls to tackle Killua in a thank-you hug (just to see him get all blushy and flustered) -today? Well, you’re panicking -if Killua so much as sees you in his shirt, you’ll never hear the end of it -he’ll bully you to death with that stupidly handsome face of his, then make you all embarrassed and -the door opened before you could finish that thought -uh oh, it seems Killua is much too sharp for your groggy mind -he stares at you for a good moment before letting out something between a laugh and a snort -you see the look in his eyes. He’s ready to tease you to death -”Killua, if you’re gonna say anything mean--” -instead, he rips off the sheets and hauls you into his arms -he’s very strong (but so are you) -suddenly he’s burying his face into your shoulder, a cat-like smile on his lips -”You missed me that much? I was only gone for like, five hours.” -his lips are on yours and you swallow back a snarky retort to savour the gentle way he looks into your eyes -gosh, when he looks at you like that, it makes your heart melt

Grief - Kurapika, Gon, Killua, and Leorio
Tumblr media
A/N: I just found this in the depths of my writing folder, and realized that I don’t think I ever posted this. This was written well over a year ago, maybe 2, but I still think it’s decent enough to post.
Warnings: depression, losing a loved one, blood, cuts(not sh)
Leorio, Kurapiki, Gon, and Killua were all sitting down around the dinner table, waiting for you to come home. It was custom for all 5 of you to sit down and have dinner together every night, and it was something no one could miss. So often it was hard to find free time for the five of you to spend time together, so that is what dinner was for. Your time was often spent talking about your day and what plans the 5 of you had. Dinner was often filled with laughs and good moments.
Except for tonight, it was anything but. Dinner usually started around 6:00 pm, but it was now 6:30 and you were nowhere to be found. The food was growing cold, and the four boys ate, despite wanting you to join them.
“Does anyone know where Y/N is?” Killua asked. “She said she’d be back in time for dinner. Do you think she’s in trouble?”
Kurapika stood, spooning some of the leftover dinner into a dish to save for you. “She told me that she was going to visit her friend.” He left the dining room to stick your plate into the fridge for you. He yelled from the kitchen, “I’m sure she just lost track of time.” The other three boys took their dishes and brought them to the kitchen to wash.
“Which friend?” Gon asked with worried eyes. “Is it the sick one? Maybe something happened?”
“I’m sure that’s who she’s with,” Leorio responded. “Y/N’s been talking about how little she’s able to see her friend.”
There was a bang coming from the front of the house. When the four boys turned around, they saw you bolting up the stairs and heard your door slam shut. Melody stood in the doorway, looking upset.
“Melody? What are you doing here?” Kurapika asked, walking towards the front door. He could see the tears brimming his co-worker’s eyes. “What happened?”
The other three boys gathered around them.
Melody sniffled before answering. “Her heart is beating with grief,” she whispered, finally making eye contact with Kurapika and the others.
“Come, sit down,” Gon instructed, worried for his friend. You had taken off running without a word, and here Melody says you’re grieving. Once everyone was settled, Melody finally spoke.
“Y/N called me, asking me to come pick her up from the hospital,” she started. “I could barely understand what she was saying, even with my enhanced hearing. I could tell that she was greatly hurting, so I rushed to get her. When I arrived, I could immediately hear the pain and grief in her heartbeat.” She paused for a moment. “I’ve never heard grief like this.”
“Did she tell you why she was so upset?” Leorio asked although everyone had a hunch.
“Her friend has passed,” Melody answered. “I guess her friend died before Y/N even got to the hospital.”
“Oh no,” Gon whispered. “This must be so hard for her. We should go see if she’s ok.”
“No.” The command was sharp, quick. Kurapika stood, looking around at the others in the room. “Having all of us run up there right now will do nothing but overbear Y/N.” He turned to Melody. “Melody, we cannot thank you enough.” The girl nodded.
“Please let me know if Y/N needs anything,” she instructed before leaving.
“We can’t just leave Y/N by herself,” Gon whined. “She needs us right now.”
“I agree,” Killua cut in. “But I also agree with Kurapika. Having all of us crowd her right now isn’t what she needs.”
“So who’s going up there?” Leorio asked.
“I will,” Kurapika volunteered. The boy was always fond of you, treating you more like a sister than a friend.
“You are closest with her,” Gon muttered, “but I want to make sure she’s ok too!”
“We can go see her later,” Killua suggested. “In the meantime, we can reheat her dinner for her!” The two boys went running off to the kitchen.
“Let me know how she is, ok,” Leorio said. “Let me know if you need me to do anything. We’ll need to keep an eye on her for the next few days. Mental health is very important after losing someone close to you.” Kurapika nodded.
“Thanks, Leorio.”
Kurapika ascended the stairs that led to everyone’s rooms and the bathroom. Your room was at the end of the hall, next to Kurapika’s room and across from Killua and Gon. Upon approaching the door, the blonde could hear gut-wrenching sobs from behind the door and his heart broke. He hated this for you. He knew how much your friend meant to you, and he knew how much you wanted to go see them. You had just been so busy lately, with classes, work, and sports and you never had a free day to be with your friend.
“Y/N?” Kurapika called softly, knocking on the door. “May I come in?” There was no answer, and the blonde didn’t know if he should wait on this side of the door and speak to you through the door or if he should go in and comfort you. While debating with himself, he suddenly heard a crash coming from your side of the door, along with a scream. Kurapika grew alarmed. “Y/N! I’m coming in, ok?!”
“Is everything ok!?” Leorio yelled from the base of the stairs. Killua and Gon were already running down the hall and towards your door.
Kurapika was in your room, scanning the area for you. Your bed was blocking a large portion of his view, yet he could see that your desk was completely cleared of everything that was once on it. He walked over to the other side of your bed to see you on the ground, struggling to breathe.
“Y/N!” Gon gasped, jumping over your bed to kneel next to you. Kurapika was at your other side in an instant, panicking himself. Killua, though he was worried, didn’t want to make you feel crowded so he went to get a broom and sweep up the broken remains of what used to be on your desk. Leorio was now in the doorway, watching as the scene unfolded before him.
“Y/N, are you hurt anywhere?” Gon asked, yet you were in no state to answer. Even though you couldn’t give him a yes or no answer, he could see blood seeping from your clenched fists.
“Y/N, honey, you need to breathe,” Kurapika stated in a desperate attempt to keep you calm.
“Sit her upright, Kurapika,” Leorio instructed, now sitting beside him. “It’ll help her breathe, but be prepared. She may not want to be touched, and it could potentially make things worse, only for a moment.”
“I don’t want to make her worse!” Kurapika shouted.
“Guys, stop yelling!” Gon said strictly. “Kurapika, do as Leorio asked. I’ll help.” The two boys wrapped their arms under you, pulling you into a sitting position.
“Y/N, please breathe,” he called. Gon’s arm still lingered behind you, unsure whether or not you were okay with physical comfort yet.
On the other hand, Kurapika pulled you into a tight hug against his chest. “Breathe with me, ok?” You showed no sign of even recognizing that someone was talking to you. Gon tilted his head in confusion.
“Y/N? Can you hear us?”
“Probably not,” Leorio answered. “Her mind's going a million miles an hour. If she doesn’t calm down she’s going to pass out.”
Kurapika was accentuating his breathing, trying to get you to breathe with him, but it was no use. You slumped against him with a long sigh. “Y/N?”
“She’s passed out,” Leorio commented. “Gon, can you get a cool cloth, some water, and a first aid kit?” The green-haired boy nodded, running out of the room. Killua joined the others on the floor near you.
“Is she going to be ok?” he asked. Leorio looked at you with worried eyes.
“I’m not sure,” he admitted quietly, pulling your hands into his to see the various cuts and shards of broken materials from where you threw everything off of your desk. “It’s going to be hard next few weeks. Maybe even months. We just have to be there for her.”
Gon returned quickly with the supplies Leorio asked for, handing them to the tall man. Kurapika lifted you to place you on your bed, laying you down gently. The next several minutes were silent as Kurapika and Leorio cleansed and bandaged your hands. Killua made his way to the head of your bed, moving your head to his lap. He ran his hands through your hair gently, massaging your scalp. Gon was wiping the dried tears from your face, careful not to be too harsh in the motion.
Three days have passed since the passing of your friend. You hadn’t said a word, hardly even leaving your room. To be honest, your friends were really worried about you. Gon and Killua had to fight you to get out of bed to at least move around.
“Exercise is important Y/N,” Killua would say softly.
“It’ll make you feel better,” Gon would add. The two boys would finally leave you when you walk with them outside to get the mail, then quickly return to your room.
Kurapika had to force you to eat, waking you up for every meal. He wouldn’t go as far as making you join them all downstairs for meals, but he’d sit with you to make sure you actually ate.
Leorio was concerned about your overall health. He took note of how long you’d been sleeping, how pale you looked with red puffy eyes and a runny nose. He’d frown every time he peeked through your cracked door to see you staring blankly up at the ceiling, not moving. There were even some moments he’d come in and touch you just to make sure you were still breathing.
All four boys accompanied you to the funeral, never leaving your side for even a moment. Kurapika sat beside you during the service, holding your hand tightly. Gon was on your other side, hugging you to make sure you knew he was there for you. All Leorio and Killua could do was give you sympathetic looks. When the time came for the burial, Kurapika still had your hand in a tight hold. Killua was at your other side now, wrapping an arm around your waist. Leorio and Gon kept a hand on each shoulder, holding you steady.
“Kurapika,” you said quietly at the end of the funeral. “I want to go home. I’m tired.”
The blonde nodded with a sad smile. This was the first time you’ve spoken since your friend died. “Alright, let’s go.” He pulled you gently beside him as you all walked to your car. He helped you into the car before sliding into the driver’s seat. Leorio joined him in the front while Killua and Gon sat with you in the back. The car started and left the funeral.
You were almost asleep when you got home. Killua shook you gently, letting you know that it was time to go inside.
“Leave her be,” Kurapika said quietly. “It’s been a hard day for her. I’ll carry her in.”
You feel the boys beside you leave, then two arms wrap around you. You were lifted out of the car and carried into the house. You felt each bump as Kurapika climbed the stairs to get to your room. He placed you on your bed, tucking you in gently.
“I’m sorry,” you heard him whisper. The bed dipped down beside you. “You shouldn’t have to go through this.” A calloused hand ran through your hair. “I wish we could do more for you.”
You felt Kurapika stand to leave and quickly reached out for his hand. “Stay. Please.” The boy gasped, spooked by your words. You couldn’t see him well in the dim light, but you could just tell he was relieved.
“Of course.” You scooted over to make room for him, curling into his side once he got comfortable. “Is this ok?”
You nodded, sighing. “Yes, thank you.” You layed in silence with him

You wake up to find a man standing at the edge of your bed watching you. You can't see much other than his large eyes and long black hair.
Your body froze in shock, all you could do was stare at the figure in front of you in horror. It was indeed a bad idea to watch a horror movie before bed. You closed your eyes slowly, trying to make it seem like  you were still asleep. You slowly pulled up the covers over your head and started panicking.
'Is that a ghost?', you thought to yourself.
He tilted his head slightly, confused as to why you covered your head with the blanket.
"Did you not hear me?"
He spoke in a cold flat tone. Illumi had taken a step closer to the bed, and he was about to sit down, but he paused. He knew your eyes were still open. He could feel your heartbeat.
'What? Am I dreaming? Or is there really a man in my room?', your breathing quicken as you tried to think of ways to escape.
Illumi reached out a hand to pull the covers off your head, "It's rude to close your eyes when you're speaking to someone."
You let out a scream as you felt the man pulling the covers off your head. Terrified, you gripped the covers for dear life, as if the covers will act as a shield against whoever this man is.
"That won't save you", He grabbed your wrists tightly and pulled your arms away from the covers. He grabbed the covers and tossed them to the floor. Your heart was beating fast, but Illumi didn't hear it. He seemed a little disappointed. He wasn't expecting you to scream at least.
"Don't scream", He muttered to himself, shaking his head slightly. Illumi had to admit that you were pretty.
Your eyes widened, 'This isn't a dream... I can feel pain in my wrist.'
At last, you finally found the courage to ask, "What-.. what do you want?"
"You look so frightened. Relax." Your fear only seemed to annoy him, and he squeezed your wrists a little tighter. Illumi seemed a little amused. "I'm taking you back home with me", He whispered, his tone calm as usual.
You whimpered in pain as he applied more pressure to your wrist, he seems strong.
"W-what do you mean 'back home'?"
You looked at him with wide eyes, trying to breathe as evenly as you could.
"As in, I'm kidnapping you", Illumi whispered matter-of-factly, as if it were something obvious. He seemed to enjoy your reaction so far. He smiled slightly, his eyes still showing no emotion.
"Please stop screaming", He requested in a soft voice, while gripping your wrists tighter.
"Hurts-..." You whimpered as you glanced upward at your wrist that the man had pinned over your head.
"Oh! You're in pain?" He seemed a little surprised, and he loosened his grip.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you", Illumi lied smoothly, letting go of your wrists. He tilted his head to the side, amused by your reaction.
You gulped as you massaged your wrist, thanking the man for releasing them.
"I- I swear I don't have anything valuable on me- Even my family won't give you money if you kidnapped me- please-..."
"Oh, I'm not kidnapping you for the money you have." He seemed a little confused. He tilted his head again, thinking about the situation. He seemed to wonder why you thought that.
"I'm kidnapping you because.." Illumi looked at you, taking in every feature on your face,"I love you", He said softly.
This seems to confuse you even more, as you looked at the man with a puzzled face.
"I think you got the wrong person-.. I have never seen you before"
"Why are you so confused? Can't you feel how much love I have for you?" He seemed hurt that you still couldn't tell how much he loved you. Illumi's facial expression softened while he looked at you, his black eyes seemingly gazing into yours. He tilted his head yet again, his eyes never leaving yours.
"I don't think I am the person you are looking for- I have never even seen you before-! Please, let me go, I won't tell anyone that this happened..."
You plead to the man in front of you, trying to get out of this situation.
"No no no, don't be silly", Illumi looked at you lovingly, smiling. You could hear the affection in his voice. "You belong to me. That's why I won't let you go even if you ask nicely."
"I love you with all my heart, and I won't let you leave me", He murmured in a soft voice.
The panic settled in again as you started to move backward, trying to put as much distance as you could between you and the man.
Illumi was disappointed that you weren't pleased by the news that he loved you. Was it so wrong for him to kidnap such a pretty girl like you? He tilted his head again, looking at you.
"Your heart rate is getting faster. You look scared. Why are you scared? I won't hurt you. I love you", Illumi murmured with a small frown, walking towards you again.
"Please don't come near me-..", You frantically started to look around for anything that you can use as a weapon against him.
Illumi walked closer to you and placed a hand on your shoulder. He seemed to be trying to calm you down. You were panicking too much for his liking.
"Why are you so scared? You don't believe me when I say I won't hurt you? I won't! I love you, so how could I possibly harm you?"
You flinched as he placed a hand on your shoulder, trying not to let out a scream.
"You don't kidnap the person you love-! How can I trust a stranger with my life? For all I know, you could brutally kill me or do something worse!"
Illumi laughed at your response, shaking his head.
"Don't you think it's a little rude to call me a stranger? I've been following you for a while now. I know you, and I love you", He murmured in a small voice, gripping your wrist firmly again.
You struggled against him, trying to pull your wrist out of his grip as you shook your head.
"Please, I beg you-.."
Illumi didn't let you go, and the more you struggled, the tighter he gripped your wrist.
"Please be patient. I know you're scared, but you don't need to be scared of me", He whispered in a cold voice, not realizing how intimidating you must've found him.
"I would never hurt you. In my eyes... you are the most perfect girl I've ever seen", He murmured softly, tilting his head again.
You kept struggling while tears formed in your eyes.
"But you are hurting me right now-"
"Stop crying", Illumi said softly, tightening his grip once more. His tone made his command sound like some kind of an order, and he didn't seem to care that his tone was intimidating.
"I will keep you safe. You'll see, once I take you back to my family", He murmured in a small voice, tilting his head once more. His facial expression was blank, yet you felt uncomfortable with him holding you so tightly.
"NO- please- no, god, please no..."
You tried not to cry but it was getting harder and harder, your wrist burns and this terrifying man is trying to kidnap you.
Illumi seemed frustrated by you crying. He squeezed your wrist even tighter, and he looked at you angrily with his black eyes.
"Stop crying and do not make me do something I will regret", He whispered in a small voice, his tone serious now. You couldn't help but tear up more. He pulled you closer, taking in your smell and examining your face.
You started to scream and kick towards his direction, trying to make him release you so you could run for your door and escape*
Illumi didn't seem bothered by your struggles. He simply held you tighter, and he was now starting to get annoyed by your screaming.
He looked you straight in the eyes as he squeezed your wrist tighter and pulled your arm closer. He was almost shaking from pure emotion.
"I love you.. I need you.. Don't struggle anymore", He whispered harshly, looking at you with a fierce expression. His eyes were filled with rage, as he held you tightly.
"No, Let. Me. Go!" You gasped in pain as he applied more pressure, you are sure that he has blocked the blood circulation in your hand with his iron grip. If he squeezed a little harder, you are sure he will manage to break your wrist.
Illumi finally snapped, as he tightened his grip even more. His face was contorted in rage, and he seemed to be getting frustrated with how you struggled. He didn't notice that he was starting to harm you. He had become obsessed. He pulled you even closer to his body.
"Don't struggle anymore. I need you. You are mine. If you don't listen, I will snap your wrist. I swear on my life", He murmured in a cold, threatening tone. His grip tightened even more.*
You couldn't hear him over the sound of your heartbeat and quickened breath, you started to suffocate as you couldn't inhale properly with how panicked you were, with every strength that is left in you, you tried to wiggle out of his grip and shake him off you.
Illumi had grown so enraged that he didn't even register you crying out in pain. He was filled with emotion, and all he could think of was wanting you to himself. He was oblivious to your pain, and the tighter he held you, the more desperate he became. He couldn't focus on anything but your face. Illumi ignored all of your pleas, and he held you in place. He just wanted you.
"Stop struggling", He whispered in a cold tone, his facial expression still filled with rage.
It happened. A cracking noise filled the room, it wasn't loud but Illumi managed to hear it. The cracking sound was followed by a scream of pain as you closed your eyes, finally breaking down in sobs.
Illumi's eyes widen as he felt your wrist snap, and he heard you scream in pain. He didn't quite know how to react. His eyes remained fixed on your face, and he was still holding you tightly.
"Oh... are you okay?", He murmured in a small voice, tilting his head. He seemed confused as his facial expression turned from rage to concern. You couldn't tell what he was thinking. He was still holding you tightly, as he waited for your response.
The pain would've been bearable if it wasn't for you panicking so much and the fact that you have never sprained any parts of your body, let alone break a bone.
Tears flood your eyes as you continued to cry out in pain, the man still not losing his grip which made it more painful.
Illumi seemed to realize for the first time how deeply he was hurting you. His grip on your wrist loosened slightly, but it was still firm.
"There, there's no need to cry", He cooed in a soft voice. Illumi sounded as if he was talking to an infant or a small child. He didn't think much of the pain he was causing you."If you cry, I might hurt your wrist more."
He tilted his head to the side, seeming to want you to stop crying.
You gasped in pain as you closed your eyes before hearing the man, you opened your eyes slightly to find him still on top of you.
"Please-... don't-... I-...", You were trying so hard to calm down but it was getting harder and harder the more you stared at the man.
Illumi tightened his grip on your wrist again. He looked mad that you were panicking so much.
"You don't have to act like this! Don't be afraid of me. Why can't you believe that I love you?", His voice sounded frustrated and irritated, and his expression turned cold once more.
"I won't hurt you", He lied, as he still continued to hold you tightly and squeeze your wrist just to get your attention.
"I- I believe you! just please..! Let my wrist go-! I b-beg you...", you tried to stop crying as the pain increased.
"As long as you're still scared of me, you won't love me", Illumi muttered in a soft tone. He squeezed your wrist tighter, as he wanted you to be so frightened that you would love him. But he was only causing more damage to your wrist.
He looked at you intently, waiting for you to fall in love with him so he could relax the grip on your wrist. "Look at me."
You looked up at him, while gasping in pain. You were shaking at this point.
Illumi tilted his head to the side again, as he looked at you with those lifeless black eyes.
"Please stop crying and just believe me. Look, I won't hurt you", He said, sounding sweet and loving. But what he was doing wasn't the nicest thing to your wrist. He was squeezing it as tight as he could.
"I love you, really."
"I- I LOVE YOU TOO!", You cried out in pain as you tried to please the man as much as you could so that he would let go of your wrist. You were starting to get dizzy.
Illumi let go of your wrist, looking at you happily, "There you go."
"Good girl", He murmured in a soft, low voice, as if he was speaking to a very small child. Illumi sounded like a different person when you said you loved him. He smiled at you lovingly. "I'm so lucky to have you", He murmured and tilted his head to the side once more.
You nodded your head in response as you tried to stop crying. You pulled your wrist towards your chest, looking down at them, it was hard to see their condition but the bone was surely broken, and you were not able to rotate your wrist either. And it hurts when you tried to move your fingers even slightly.
Illumi had calmed down a lot. He was satisfied by the fact that you loved him, and he had succeeded in breaking your will. He could finally relax.
"Let's go, my dear. Let's go back to my family's mountain and become my wife", He murmured in a soft voice, smiling at you lovingly once more. He grabbed your hand and started walking towards the door, as if your wrist wasn't broken in two.
"Ah! C-can you grab my arm or shoulder instead? It hurts when you pull...-", You trailed off, scared that you will annoy him if you mention your pain again.
"Oh, of course", Illumi replied sweetly, smiling at you as if you were a small child. He put his arm around your shoulder and lifted you up, carrying you in his arms.
"You're so light- do you even eat? We'll need to feed you more", He murmured with a small chuckle, and he walked outside of your apartment. He had to go to his mansion on the kukuroo mountain now that he had you in his custody.
"We..?", 'There are more of them? If one of them is this crazy, how bad will others be?' Just thinking about it makes you shiver.
Illumi remained quiet as he carried you over his shoulder. He didn't even think about the fact that you were scared of him or his family. All he was focused on was that he finally had you all to himself.
"My family will love you. I'm sure of it." He muttered quietly, as if he was trying to reassure you. "I'll introduce you to my little brother, Killua first. Killua is going to be so excited to meet you."
"Ah- I see... i would love to meet them too... By the way- if you don't mind me asking... I mean- like, can I ask you something?", You fumbled with your words, trying to speak as carefully as you could.
"Hm? What is this question that you're so hesitant to ask?", Illumi asked politely, keeping his focus on you. He was curious about your question, and all he wanted was to hear you say it. He tilted his head to the side once more, seeming to want to listen to the sound of your voice.
"What's your name...?", You looked up at him, trying to see if he was annoyed by your talking or not.
Illumi looked at you sweetly and smiled. He chuckled as he responded."You haven't figured that out for yourself, love?"
"My name is Illumi, Illumi Zoldyck. I'm 26-years-old. Don't forget it.", He murmured softly and tilted his head to the side.
"What's your name?" He asked, sounding genuinely curious.
Your eyes widened once I heard his name, "Zoldyck..? Like- from that Kangaroo mountain..?"
Illumi chuckled when you said 'Kangaroo' instead of 'Kukuroo'. "It's Kukuroo mountain, love, not Kangaroo. And yes, I am an elite Zoldyck. What's your name, love? *He inquired curiously while he continued to walk outside. He knew what your name was, but he wanted to see if you would be truthful or not.
"Lily." He nodded when he heard you answer him.
"Umm, that mountain is a big tourist attraction, so when I was new to this city, I went there- I saw your dog eat humans and decided to live far away from it-..." You trailed off, remembering that day.
"Ah... I see." *He said in response to your answer. "That day must have been traumatic for you", He said softly, trying to show sympathy for your feelings.
'This day is more traumatizing', You thought to yourself.
"And what are you doing in the city then? Do you have a job?" He asked curiously, acting as if he already didn't know everything about you.
"I am still a student so I work part time at a library."
"Oh, a student huh? Well, you're in luck. Our family will make sure that you have a better future", Illumi murmured in a soft and caring voice.
"Is that car yours?"
"Yes! That's my car. You're a very inquisitive person. Do you like it?" He asked curiously as he looked down at you. He smiled at you sweetly as if he was trying to impress you.
"It's.. It looks cool!" You tried to smile at him despite the pain you were in.
"I thought you already knew that I was a student...Shit- am i talking too much?", You looked at him anxiously, trying to figure out if your talking was annoying him or not.
"No no, not at all", Illumi murmured in a soft and friendly tone. He smiled at you sweetly and tilted his head to the side as he walked down the street with you in his arms.
"I like your talkative nature, Lily. You can tell me anything, and I'll try to have a conversation with you."
"I think we've almost reached my car now." He muttered sweetly, as he continued walking towards the car with you in his arms.
"You parked quite far. Wait- what is going to happen to my belongings?" You looked back towards your house.
"Don't worry about that now, my love", Illumi replied calmly, as if he couldn't care less about leaving your belongings. He didn't want you to worry about anything but him. He loved you after all. He looked at you warmly with those soulless, black eyes of his.
"Don't worry about it." He murmured sweetly and continued walking to the car.
"B-but-.."
"Shh, it's all okay, darling." *Illumi replied sweetly and he continued walking to the car as if you were a child. He was caring about you in his own way, but he also did what he wanted with no regard to you.
"You don't need to worry about anything other than being with me. Everything else is insignificant",  He muttered, sounding serious.
He soon reached his car and opened the door carefully. He then sat you down in the passenger seat, and sat himself, in the driver seat.
You shut your mouth as soon as you heard him say that, though the idea of leaving everything behind just like that.. hurts. You worked so hard to buy everything, to work for everything and now... it's all gone.
You looked at you wrist and gasped quietly, it was an angry red and limp, with bones sticking out. You couldn't bear to look at it as it made you disgusted and scared.
Illumi looked over to you to see your disgusted and horrified face. He realized instantly that he went too far. He tried to hold his anger in, but it was hard. You could see the small anger in his eyes as he tried to be kind to you.
"Oh, did I break your wrist?" *He murmured in a sweet, kind tone as if he was trying to comfort you. But it was obvious that his concern was fake.
"Its- It's fine, it doesn't hurt that much...", You gave him a weak smile, or at least tried to while looking at him.
"Don't lie to me. I don't like it when you lie to me. You're hurt, and I did it." Illumi replied in a harsh tone, looking at you with his soulless black eyes. His sweet persona was gone, as the cold-blooded Zoldyck blood was now in-command. He was getting mad at your lying and he didn't want you to lie to him again.
"I know you're not a liar, Lily.. So don't lie to me", He murmured once more, as he turned the car on.
You took a sharp breath as you heard his tone, he is angry again. That's not good. You quickly bowed my head, "I am sorry, Illumi! I swear, I won't lie to you again, please forgive me!" You cried out while shaking slightly.
Illumi looked at you sweetly and his tone immediately shifted back to a soft, kind and sweet voice. "Good girl." He murmured gently, as if he didn't just snap at you. All of that anger was instantly gone, and he looked at you like you were his princess again.
"I forgive you", He spoke softly and smiled at you sweetly.
"Don't worry, we'll take care of that wrist once we arrive at my mansion." He said in a caring tone.
"Thank you!" You sat up straight once you heard him say that.
You looked towards the sky, it's pretty late right now.
"Aren't you tired..?"
"No.. I'm not tired." Illumi murmured sweetly, as if he couldn't sleep without you next to him.
He then drove the car down the street to the mansion. Once they reached the gates of the mansion, Illumi stepped out and then reached his hand into the car to help you get off. The mansion was enormous, and it looked like a palace.
"Please watch your step, darling." He murmured in a soft tone as he helped you off the car.
You thanked him as you looked at the mansion in front of you.
That's it. That's your life now. It's no use fighting against him. You already gave up fighting when he broke your wrist. It's useless now. Everything is over for you. Your dreams, your goals, your life. Everything. Is. Over.

Killua, Gon & Leorio as Yanderes HCs
Request: Can you do a yandere hc Gon, killua, kurapika and leorio please
A/N: I already have Kurapika as a yandere headcanons(and him with a yandere s/o) in my masterlist but I did the other three characters :)
Killua
Killua was raised with murder as a tool to protect not only his family but his own wants. Selfishness was a prime virtue in his household. Even if loyalty was preached, it was all a falsehood Killua saw through; true greediness being the root of his parents' actions. He did realize the validity of using violence though.
You had run into Killua due to your own lack of family. You had assumed he was an orphan, sharing your grief, giving just enough information to seem vulnerable while still keeping the juiciest details to himself. The details that would reveal his own power in the situation.
Killua had been exploring the world as he saw fit when you stumbled into his eyeline. He was immediately transfixed and while it started with him simply approaching you it divulged into much more.
He gave you gifts he had no business giving you with his background seemingly what it was but you didn't look a gift horse in the mouth. You smiled and accepted both his presents and love.
Killua did much more than you knew. Ridding you of those who stood in your way, threatened you, hurt you in the past. Those you never heard about again or hadn't heard from far before the Zoldyck ever walked into your life were rid of by his pale hands.
He was always there with you, not even needing to be asked to come along. He offered his presence to you on a silver platter, giving his affection so freely to such a love-starved individual. Perhaps that's what had led him to you in the first place - a kindred spirit.
Tumblr media
Gon
Gon came into your life smiling and never left - greeting you with a wave and a compliment, easing his way into your life. You hung out immediately, being drawn to the man before you and vice versa. You walked side-by-side through shops, window-shopping with pleasure. At the end of the (seemingly)surprise meeting, he left you only to return a few moments later with one of the cheaper items you had expressed interest in. You were shocked at his kindness but gratefully accepted.
You exchanged information at the end of the conversation and conversed over the next couple of days over the phone. You found yourself excited at the possibility of him messaging you, looking forward to your phone's notification
Gon had stopped messaging you for days; three to be exact before you stopped messaging. After a week passed your phone chimed and the thought that it could be him passed through your head but you ignored it and lazily grabbed for the device. You were surprised to see it was him with an apologetic message - it explained that a family emergency had come up, one that he felt might overwhelm you if he were to share so early on in talking with you. He was sorry for having left you with no information on his whereabouts but he hoped you would forgive him.
You did just as he requested(read: planned).
And soon you did just as he said, for fear of consequence. For you spent more time with him, and grew closer, his kindness pouring so freely you were helpless to drink it. It was only for you though, Gon's kindness not expanding out towards anyone else. You became his all and his strength only grew with his feelings - in ways you couldn't fully understand. All you knew was that you were powerless. What had you allowed to happen?
No matter what he did he always smiled. That bright smile that highlighted his soft cheeks and bright composure, but it couldn't drown out the carnage before you and you found yourself shrinking into the recesses of your mind more and more in his presence.
Tumblr media
Leorio
He came off as the perfect gentleman - or at least his attempt at one. You were none the wiser to his true intentions. The man was quick to give you your favorite flowers, complimenting you, showing you off at nice places. His wallet had its limits but your needs and wants fell well within their bounds.
He reminded you of this later. Listing all the things he had done for you as a way of making you stay by his side. It didn't matter how you responded though, he was the provider, he took care of you and you should be grateful. Leorio would make you grateful.
The day after a blow up your partner would act as if nothing happened, having seemingly moved on from the incident. He treated you with his usual kindness and would often return home with a single flower for simply 'existence.'
He went past the usual bounds of an abusive relationship and proved his own devotion time and time again. With any person who disrespected you, he made sure to kill them. Sometimes you packed up and moved to another location without explanation and the look in his eyes told you not to ask why.
You began to enjoy this lifestyle though. The constant movement, high risk, devotion, tenderness. It all inexplicably drew you.
He's perverted. He can't help it. He loves everything about you. The littlest things fascinate him. He stares at you for hours, especially when you're sleeping. At first, it bothered you, kept you up at night even with your eyes closed. Now though, you don't mind it. It's just Leorio. You even find yourself smiling to sleep as he pets your side comfortingly.

Illumi x Reader x ??????
Part 13
part 12
part 14
warning: violence, some inflicted against the reader
Tumblr media
“The Fourth Phase of the exam has just ended. Will the applicants please return to the starting point at once? You will be given one hour of extra time. If you do not return during this time, you will fail the exam. Furthermore, you are not allowed to exchange tags after reaching the starting point. Anyone caught swapping tags will be disqualified.”
After an hour had passed the woman from before left the boat.
“Now we will check the tags of everyone here!”
The names of the unfamiliar faces are revealed.
Pokkle was the boy with brown hair, and Bodoro was the name of the old man.
“Ah, only six applicants have passed? Hmm…”
The group of four, including (Name), Leorio, Kurapika, and Gon appeared just in time.
“Gon, (Name)!” Killua yelled out, his face lighting up.
“Ah, four more arrive at the last second! And now for the last few members…”
She introduced them and announced what tags they had acquired, some of the applicants raising an eyebrow at (Name)’s blank card.
“These 10 applicants have passed the fourth Phase of the exam!”
—————
They board the airship again, (Name) staying with the three boys, exhaustion starting to kick in.
“Pathetic. I needed the three of you to do everything for me during the Fourth Phase. I promise I’ll return the favor. So... thanks.” Leorio sighed, not meeting any of the other three’s eyes.
The speaks roar to life, and the sound of Beans voice fills the air. “I have an announcement for all applicants. The chairman wishes to interview the remaining candidates.”
“Interview?”
“When your number is called, please come to the first reception room, on the second floor. Then, we will start with #44, Hisoka.”
Gon grimaced at the mention of Hisoka’s name.
———-
“Well, have a seat.”
Hisoka stared at the chairman, unmoving. “Don’t tell me this is the exam’s final phase.”
“It may be related. I’ll just ask a few questions to satisfy my curiosity.”
Hisoka’s grinned widened and he sat down.
“First, why do you want to become a Hunter?”
“I’m not particularly interested in becoming a Hunter but…”
“But?”
“A Hunter license can be very useful.”
“Oh, any examples?”
“For example, Hunters usually can’t be punished when they kill someone.”
“I see. Then we’ll move on to the next question. Which of the other nine applicants are you keeping an eye on?”
“#99 and #406.”
“Oh.”
“#405 is also on my radar, but it’s those two I’m keeping an eye on. I would love to take them on one day, although he might not like that…” Hisoka chuckles, imagining the look on Illumi’s face if he found out he was the reason for (Name)’s death.
“One last question. Which of the other 9 applicants would you least want to fight?”
“That would be #405. Though #99 and #406 is up there. If you’re asking whom I least want to fight at this moment, my answer would be #405.”
“Ah, I understand.”
“I should mention that the one I most want to fight at this moment… is you.”
His bloodlust was potent, but not enough to faze Netero.
“Yep, nice job. You’re excused.”
Next was Pokkle.
“I’m watching out for #404. He looks like the most balanced applicant. I definitely don’t want to fight #44. To be honest, I doubt I can beat him.”
Killua was called in after. “Has to be Gon and (Name). He’s the same age as me, and her…” he shakes his head. “She’s someone special. I don’t want to fight #53. I don’t think it’d be a very interesting fight.”
“I’ve got my eye on #44. He has a real presence. #405 and #99 are still children. I couldn’t bring myself to fight them.” Bodoro answered.
“#99 and #406. #44 and #406.” Illumi’s answer was short and sweet.
“Who am I watching out for? #44, Hisoka. A lord happens, so I’ve been watching him. I can’t choose one out of #99, #403, #404, and #406.” Gon said, smiling.
Hanzo was next. “It has to be #44. He’s the most dangerous one here. And #44 is the one I want to fight least, along with #406. I just don’t think she would be much of a fight.”
“I’m watching #405 and #406 for positive reasons, and #44 for negative reasons. If I’m given ample reason, I’ll fight anyone. If not I’d prefer not to fight anyone… however I’d be most affected if I had to fight #406. She’s kind.” Kurapika pushed a strand of hair behind his ear, a smile on his lips.
“#405 and #406. I owe them both, and I hope that they pass the exam. So I’m hoping I don’t have to fight either of them.”
The last applicant to join Netero for an interview was (Name), who looked rather nervous.
“Please sit, Miss (Name).”
She did as told, playing with the fabric of her skirt as she did. “Mr. Netero, I’m glad I get to see you again. Have you been well?”
His eyes widened slightly. Not a single one of the applicants had asked him a question like that in his many years of being an examiner.
“I’m doing fine, you’re kind to ask me. Are you doing okay, Miss (Name)?”
She looked up from her skirt, and nodded. “Yes, I’m doing great! I’m just surprised I’ve made it this far. They say most rookies fail the exam in the first stage.”
He nods, picking up his pen. “I have a few questions for you. First, why do you want to become a hunter?”
“I want to support my family and find a missing person. Though I guess missing isn’t the right word, I just can’t find him”
“Okay, who would are you watching out of the other 9 applicants?”
“Hmm, I would say I’m watching #44 and #301, for very different reasons.”
“Okay, and which of the 9 would you least like to fight?”
“Oh, that’s easy. #301 along with #405, #403, #404, and #99 respectively. Oh, I guess #44 too, but I would be okay fighting him if it meant Gon and Killua didn’t have to. He creeps me out!”
Netero wrote down her answer, a smile threatening to pull at his lips. She was kind, just as Kurapika had said. “That’s all. You can leave now.”
(Name) stood, brushing off her skirt. Before she left, she gave Netero a big smile. “Thank you for this opportunity, I’ll make sure to pass!”
He couldn’t help but grin back.
——————
(Name) left the room and ran the the bathroom to shower. She beamed under the warm water, sighing contentedly as it washed away the dirt and grime from her past week of being outdoors. She made sure to wash out her clothes as well. Thankfully the airship had a washer and dryer.
After her shower, (Name) joined Kurapika and Gon in the hallway, a towel holding back her damp hair.
(Name) sat on the window ledge, kicking her feet. Kurapika and Gon began speaking.
“Gon.”
“Hmm?”
“Did something happen during the Fourth Phase? When we met up, you were acting a bit strange. And you’ve been somewhat subdued since we left Zevil Island.”
“My target was Hisoka.”
Kurapika and (Name) both turned to look at him, (Name) clutching her wrist at the mention of his name. “I waited for the perfect chance and stole his tag, but someone else was tailing me, and he got me with a poison dart. Soon after, Hisoka took back his tag from the person who got me, and he left it with me. He said that I owed him now.”
“Hisoka said that?”
“I told him I didn’t need his help and he sent me flying. I was so mad that I couldn’t do anything against him…”
Tears formed in his eyes and fell from his cheeks, dropping onto the window ledge. (Name) held herself back from hugging him, knowing that if she did it would only make him feel worse. He didn’t need her pity, he just needed her to be there. He quickly dried his tears, smiling again.
“After that, I was pretty miserable and lonely. I felt so helpless. I wanted company… I wanted to help someone. I guess. That’s why I was looking for you three.”
“Gon.”
“Hm?”
“Leorio and I have only been able to make it this far because of you. We’re truly grateful.”
(Name) agrees, ruffling Gon’s hair.
“I’d also like to thank you two.”
(Name) has deepened her bond with her friends, and the 10 remaining applicant are about to begin the exam’s Final Phase.
—————
10 applicants: (Name), Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, Pokkle, Bodoro, Gittarackur, Hanzo, and Hisoka, head to the Final Phase, having passed the exam’s Fourth Phase.
“Well, ladies and gentlemen, get plenty of rest? This hotel is owned by the Hunter Exam Selection Committee. The place is all yours until the battles have concluded.”
A man in a suit rolls a board covered in cloth in as Netero continues. “For the Final Phase, we will be holding a one-on-one tournament.”
He pulls off the fabric to reveal the lineup.
“So only the last person standing passes?”
“No. One win is all you need to pass.”
Gon gasps. “Just one win?”
Leorio sighs, “then in this tournament…”
“The winners are removed from the competition, while the losers continue up the bracket. In other words, the person who finishes at the top will not pass. Does everyone understand now?”
Hanzo nods. “So you’re saying that only one person will fail.”
“Exactly. Now here is the bracket.”
The applicants look over the bracket, (Name) wincing at who she would have to fight.
“Impressive right? After all, everyone has at least two chances to win.”
Pokkle tilted his head at the pairings. “But some people, like #294 and #405 get five chances.”
“Why didn’t you use a balanced bracket?” Asked Bodoro.
“A question that must be on everyone’s mind. The bracket was assembled based on your performances throughout the entire exam. Those who performed better received more chances.”
Killua raised an eyebrow. “That doesn’t sound right. Can you explain how you scored our performances?”
“Hm. No!”
“Why not!!”
“Haha, your scores are classified information, so I can’t tell you everything. But I can explain our methods.”
The applicants held their breath, nervous about the explanation.
“First, we consider three major criteria. Physical strength, mental strength, and overall impression. For physical strength, we use an aggregate of agility, flexibility, endurance, and perception. For mental strength, we use an aggregate of resilience, adaptability, judgement, and creativity. However, this information is only used as a reference point. After all, you were strong enough to advance to the Final Phase. However, we are most concerned with your overall impression. This refers to any intangible factors not previously mentioned.”
He chucked. “You could consider this an evaluation of your potential as a Hunter. And we also incorporate the opinions of your peers. That was our process.”
Netero continued, glancing between each applicant. “The battle rules are quite simple. Weapons are allowed. No cheating. If your opponent admits defeat, you win. However! If you kill your opponent you will be immediately disqualified. All remaining applicants will pass, and the exam will end. Are we clear?”
The chairman was met with silence.
“Then we shall begin the exam’s Final Phase.”
——————
Gon and Hanzo were up first. The boy leaned down to tie his shoes and Hanzo cracked his knuckles. (Name) watched on nervously. Illumi noted that she seemed worried for the boy and stowed that information away for later.
“The first match is Hanzo versus Gon. Please step forward!”
The referee stands in the distance, allowing the two to enter the ring. Gon watches Hanzo with his brown eyes, only looking away to glance at his friends and give them a reassuring smile.
“I will serve as the referee. My name is Masta. Best of luck.”
“Hey, good to see you again.” Hanzo greets Masta. warmly. “You we’re trailing me during the Fourth Phase.”
“You noticed?”
“Naturally… I’m assuming each applicant was assigned an examiner for the Fourth Phase. Well, I’m sure everyone noticed.”
(Name) gasped, wrapping her arms around herself. She’d bathed several times during the Fourth Phase, feeling safe enough having Leorio and Kurapika make sure no one came to peek, but now she wondered if she’d been giving a free show to an examiner the entire time.
“You have my thanks. My rank was higher because your reports on me were accurate. Though the outcome was never in question!” Hanzo continued.
“Y-yes…”
“Moving on… I have a question for you.”
“What is that?” The referee asked.
“We only win if our opponent surrenders, correct? It doesn’t count if we knock them unconscious, no TKOs allowed either.”
“Yes, that is correct.”
(Name) was becoming uneasy. Hanzo sighed, glancing at Gon.
‘I see. This one could be difficult.’
Gon glared back, his gaze unwavering. ‘He looks tough, but we should be even in terms of speed and strength. I can use my speed to keep on the move until I get an opening.’
“Now then, it’s time to begin.”
(Name) teetered on her tippy toes, her anxiety building. “Beat his ass Gon!”
“Begin!”
Gon ran forward, past Hanzo. ‘Put some distance between us…’
Before he could think of his next step, Hanzo was next to him. “You must be confident in your legs. You have my respect.”
Hanzo landed a hit on the base of his neck, causing Gon to gasp out. His vision was blurry and we was on the floor instantly.
“You did well for a kid.”
Hanzo stood over him. “Well, this would already be over if it were a normal fight… Here, wake up.”
He picked the boy and pressed his back against his knees cracking it. “You must feel terrible. I hit you hard enough to make your brain bounce around. Do you understand? You have no chance against me. Might as well give up now.”
Gon groaned. “N-no way!”
Hanzo delivered another hit causing Gon’s head to spin. “Think carefully. If you surrender now, you’ll still be in decent shape for your next fight. There’s no reason to be stubborn. Just surrender.”
“Never gonna happen!”
Another hit, this time to his stomach. Gon doubled over, and (Name) gripped Kurapika’s sleeve so tight she thought it might tear.
“Surrender.”
Hanzo had no mercy on the child, glaring down at him. Gon slowly rose, on his hands and knees, then stood. Hanzo delivered another hit, causing his knees to buckle.
“Gon, don’t be stupid! You’ll still have another chance! You should-“
“Leorio!”
Kurapika held onto (Name)’s hand, visibly shaking. “If you were in Gon’s position, would you surrender?”
“Hell no! That guy thinks he’s hot stuff…”
“Gon feels the same way!”
“I know! I know that… but there isn’t any other choice.”
“You’re contradicting yourself but I understand how you feel.”
The three winced when he was struck again, flying across the floor.
————
“It’s been three hours.” Pokkle said, glancing over at (Name). Tears flowed freely from her eyes, her nails dug so deep into her palm that blood dropped onto the floor. Gon was in a heap, blood streaking across the marble.
“There’s nothing left for him to vomit.”
Illumi noticed Pokkle looking at (Name) and sent him a glare. Kurapika tried to console her by pulling her close, but it only made her sob. “Gon, please…”
“Get up.” Hanzo looked down at the broken child, his patience fading. Leorio looked close to exploding.
“Enough already, I’m gonna kill you! I’ll fight you in his place!”
Hanzo glanced between Leorio and (Name) his gaze softening ever so slightly at the woman’s tears. “If you can’t take it, leave. It’s only going to get worse.”
“What was that?!”
Several referees ran in front of Leorio, blocking his path. “No one may interfere in a one-on-one match. If you step in, Gon will be the one disqualified.”
Leorio growled, biting his lip so hard it bled.
“It’s okay, Leorio, (Name). This is… nothing…”
He slowly lifted his head to meet their eyes. “I… I can still fight.”
Hanzo kicked Gon’s legs out from under his feet and pulled his arm behind his back. “I’m going to break your arm.”
The four and Hisoka startle at this revelation. (Name) starts to mindlessly walk forward, but is pulled back by Kurapika.
“I’m not joking around, so give up. Surrender.”
Gon took a moment to breathe.
“NEVER!”
CRACK
“He really broke his arm.” Pokkle remarked, a bit surprised.
“There you go. You can’t use your left arm anymore.”
Leorio’s teeth grated together so tightly that you could almost hear them breaking.
“Kurapika, don’t try to stop me. If that bastard does anything else to Gon… sorry Gon, but I can’t stop myself.”
“Me? Stop you? Don’t worry, there’s no chance of that happening.” Kurapika’s eyes burned a bright red behind his contact lenses.
While the two talk, something starts to change within (Name). Illumi and Hisoka are the first to notice, then the examiners.
‘Oh? How interesting!’ Netero thinks, his eyes now locked on (Name)’s form. Her eyes are wide and wild, her breathing shallow.
‘Is she…’
Illumi approaches her, shock apparent on his face. Her aura was no longer slowly leaking away like it did with most non-nen users, it was beginning to be controlled.
‘She’s awakened her nen!’
(Name) stepped forward, her legs shaky. “I don’t think I can wait. He’s… he’s hurt. Gotta…”
Her aura flickers, starting to leak out rapidly as she loses control. Illumi barely manages to catch her when she falls. Menchi runs over, an excited look on her face.
“This girl… she has potential.”
—————
(Name) awakes just in time for her match. She had been sleeping with head head resting on Menchi’s lap. She startled, immediately standing and looking around. Her suddenly standing caused her to double over and cough up blood.
“Easy does it, #406. You passed out. Your friend won his round and is currently in the infirmary healing.”
Kurapika and Leorio were immediately at her side, Kurapika pushing back her hair as she coughed up more blood.
“(Name) what happened? You just fell over all of a sudden.”
She shook her head, holding a hand to her temple. “Don’t know, I had the urge to help Gon and felt like my skin was being pricked by needles, and then I felt like something left my body, all at once. As if I was drained of all my energy…”
She leaned against Leorio, huffing. “Can you help me into the ring?”
He gripped her arm, his face pale. “(Name), I don’t think you’re in the right state to-“
“I’ll do it myself then.”
She pulled away and stumbled into the ring, holding herself up as much as possible.
“The next match is (Name) versus Gittarackur! Please step forward.”
The two entered the ring, (Name) giving Gittarackur a weak smile. “Hoped it didn’t have to come to this. I won’t be-“
She bent over to cough more blood onto the ground, holding her stomach. “Holding back.”
“Is anyone going to stop her? She shouldn’t be fighting.” Pokkle exclaimed, watching the girl stumble.
“She can handle herself, probably better than you.” Hisoka claimed, grinning down at the shorter man.
“Ready, begin!”
(Name) readied herself, holding up her dagger. Illumi’s heart rate skyrocketed at the sight of it. He’d given her that as a gift years ago, and now she was using it. He was flattered.
“Are you even fit to fight, girl? Why don’t you just give up and try again next round? Or do you want a repeat at what happened to your little friend?”
He appeared right next to her, effortlessly disarming her. She gasped, and he pinned her to the ground, a leg between hers.
“Don’t you dare hurt her!” Leorio yelled, having to be restrained by three referees. Kurapika was barely holding himself back. He knew that she wasn’t stupid enough to continue fighting, he knew but…
“I’m not giving up that easy.”
At this Gittarackur’s hands drifted from her wrists to her shirt, pulling her up by her collar until he was standing and she was at eye level.
“I’ve killed stronger men and women than you, (Name). Don’t push your luck.”
He slammed her into the floor, causing the breath to leave her lungs. She cried out in agony when his foot rested on her chest, pressing down just hard enough to hurt, but not enough to break her ribs. Yet.
“If you pass this exam, you might be called in to do very dangerous jobs. You could lose be seriously injured, even lose your life.”
He hated seeing her in so much pain, her hands gripping at his boot to try and push him off.
“I don’t care. If I can keep my family afloat and find my friend, I don’t care!”
She finally found the strength to push him off, crawling forward to reach her dagger.
“Stubborn girl.”
Before she could reach it, he kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying into the wall.
For 5 minutes, (Name) remained unconscious. Killua was beginning to lose his cool, his nails sharpening to points.
“Just give up, (Name). You aren’t built like Gon, one more hit could kill you!”
‘Listen to him (Name).’ Illumi thought, biting his cheek. ‘I can’t stand to see you like this.’
She pushed herself up, her legs barely able to handle her weight. “If I can’t handle this, then I don’t deserve to pass.”
She raises her fists, her nose bleeding.
“Come and fight me, like a man.”
Illumi stops, staring down at that mouse of a girl. She didn’t flinch under his gaze, instead squaring up to bestie her ability.
She was weak physically, but her will was strong. Hisoka watches on, his interest absolutely peaked.
Illumi rolls his eyes, and stepped forward. (Name braced herself for an attack, but he only flicked her forehead. “Fine. You win.”
(Name) blinks, looking up at the man in confusion. “I win?”
“Yes. You’ve bored me, now run along. The next match will be starting soon.”
The referee called the match, and (Name) limped away. She was scolded harshly by her companions, Killua having to turn away to hide his tears.
“Stupid, you could have died. You probably have broken ribs.”
She smiled, ruffling his hair. “Sorry for worrying you.”
The next fight was Killua and Pokkle, but as soon as the fight began, Killua walked away. Confidently, he declared…
“Sorry, but I’m not interested in fighting you.”
He must of felt that he could win his next match. However, Leorio requested that the sixth match be postponed while Bodoro recovered from his injuries. So Killua and Gittarackur fought first.
“Kick his ass for (Name)’s sake!” Leorio yelled out, tending to (Name) as he did. He’d assessed that she needed professional medical attention, but the stubborn girl refused to leave. She wished to finish watching the matches, so Leorio helped her the best he could with his medical knowledge.
“Begin!”
That was when Killua made a fatal mistake. He walked forward, his mind halfway clouded by anger for the injuries Gittarackur had dealt (Name), and halfway ready to get it over with.
“It’s been a long time, Kil.”
Gittarackur starts to pull out the golden/yellow needles that stuck out of his head and shoulders. Killua watched on in confusion as the man’s face started to shift, slowly revealing that the man before him was not who he seemed.
Killua’s face paled when the man’s long black hair fell gently to his waist. He looked down at him with black eyes.
“B-brother…”
—————
(Name) felt an intense ache in her chest, and she couldn’t tell if it was the broken ribs or her strange attraction to the man in the ring. She couldn’t quite place how she felt, but something inside her stirred.
“Hey.”
Illumi’s gaze drifts to (Name) for just a moment, a bit proud to see her cheeks flushed at his appearance.
“Killua’s brother?”
“He used those needles to change the shape of his face?”
(Name) whimpered, holding her head in her hands. “Hurts.”
There was an intense throbbing when she tried to delve into her mind to figure out why she was reacting this way to the man who had just brutally attacked her. Why did she want to reach out to him? Hold him?
“I heard that you cut up mom and Milluki.”
“I guess…”
Illumi tilted his head. “Mom was crying.”
Leorio scoffed. “Anyone would cry if their son did that to them.”
“Tears of joy.”
Leorio fell over, barely missing (Name) she cried out, rolling away. “Hey, watch where your going!”
“She was so happy to see that you’d grown up. But she was worried about you leaving home, so she asked me to check yo on you. What a coincidence. I didn’t know you wanted to be a Hunter. I’m trying to get a license for my next job.”
Killua looked down, refusing to make eye contact with his older brother. “I don’t really want to be a hunter. I just felt like taking the exam.”
“I see. That’s a relief. Then I have some advice for you.”
The room grew tense, (Name) gripping onto Kurapika’s sleeve as her nose began to bleed.
“You’re not cut out to be a Hunter. You were born to be… a killer.”
Killua trembled.
“You’re a puppet of darkness, without passion. You don’t want anything or wish for anything. As one who lives in the shadows, you can only feel pleasure when people die. That’s how dad and I raised you. What would you accomplish by becoming a hunter?”
“True. I don’t desire to become a Hunter. But… I do have something I want….”
“You don’t.”
“I DO!”
Illumi was slightly taken aback by his brothers words, but stayed stone faced.
“There are some things I really want.”
Illumi hummed. “Tell me what it is you want.”
Killua blinked, meeting his brothers gaze for just a moment. He stayed silent, looking at the ground.
“What’s wrong? There’s nothing you really want, is there?”
Killua bit his lip. “That’s not it! You have something you want too!”
This caused Illumi to pause, his eyes automatically drifting to (Name) again. Killua caught this, whispering. “You still love her.”
Illumi’s eyes widen ever so slightly, but he ignores his brother. “We’re talking about you, not me.”
“I want to become friends with Gon… I’m sick of killing people. I want to become friends with Gon and live a normal life…”
“That’s impossible.”
(Name) stands with the help of Kurapika.
“You’ll never be able to make friends. Your only concern when you meet someone is whether you should kill them. That’s how you were trained.”
“That’s not how you raise a child!” (Name) shouts, the effort causing her to fall into a coughing fit.
“You just don’t know how to classify Gon because he’s too dazzling for your eyes. You don’t actually want to become friends with him.” Illumi tried to ignore her, stealing another glance and barely containing himself when he sees Kurapika holding her up.
“You’re wrong…”
“If you stay with him, you’ll end up wanting to kill him one day. You’ll get the urge to see if you can kill him or not. Because you have the soul of a killer.”
Leorio charges forward. “Killua! I don’t give a damn if he’s your brother. He’s a worthless piece of crap! Don’t listen to him! Just beat the crap out him like usual and win! You want to become friends with Gon? Are you dumb? You are already friends!”
Killua startles. “I’m sure that’s how Gon feels!”
Illumi glances at Leorio, relaxing a bit when he sees that (Name) was leaning against the wall. “Is that so?”
“Hell yeah, idiot!”
“Really… that’s no good. He considers Kil a friend.”
Illumi holds up a finger. “Okay. I’ll kill Gon.”
(Name) straightens, her strength suddenly returning. The other three in her group react with anger, Hisoka and Netero looking on with interest.
“A killer doesn’t need any friends. They’ll only slow you down. Where is he?”
Killua watches his brother walk towards the four at the end of the room. “P-please wait! The match is still-“
Illumi throws a needle at the referee, who begins to shrivel.
“Where is he?” Illumi asks without looking.
“The waiting room over there…”
“Thank you.”
(Name), Kurapika, Leorio, and Hanzo step in front of the door to guard it.
“This won’t do… I need a hunters license to do my job… but if I kill them, I’ll fail and Kil will pass automatically. Oh darn, the same thing will happen if I kill Gon.”
He pouts. “Oh, I know!”
He smiles at the four. “I’ll pass the exam before killing Gon.”
Sweat drips down Killua’s face as he trembles in place.
(Name) sends him a warning glance. “You won’t get past me.”
“Bastard…”
Illumi faces the examiners. “If I wait until after passing the exam, I can kill everyone here and still keep my license, right?”
“Yes, according to the rules.” Netero confirms, his eyes drifting from Illumi to the four that stood guard at the door.
“Hear that, Kil? You have to beat me if you want to save Gon.”
Illumi advanced forward, closing the gap between them step-by-step.
“Will you fight me for your friend’s sake? You can’t do it. Because you’re more worried about whether or not you can defeat me.”
Killua gasped as he neared closer. “And you already have your answer. ‘I’m not strong enough to beat my brother.’ ‘Never fight an enemy you can’t defeat.’ I drilled that into you…”
Killua shook uncontrollably, his breath coming out unsteady.
“Don’t move! If you move an inch, I’ll assume that the fight has begun. And if our bodies make contact, that will also mean the fight has begun. There’s only one way to stop me. You know what that is.”
Killua’s eyes focus on his brothers hand had inches closer to him by the second.
“But don’t forget… if you don’t fight me, your dear Gon will die.”
“Take him out, Killua! We won’t let him kill you or Gon! We’ll take him, whatever it takes! Let him have it!” Leorio exclaimed, but Killua was hardly listening.
Before Illumi’s hand could brush against Killua’s forehead, Killua hung his head low.
“I surrender.”
Illumi glared down at him before smiling. “Oh, that’s good. Then the battles over.”
He laughs, clapping a hand onto Killua’s shoulder. “I lied, Kil. I was lying about killing Gon. That was just a little test. But now, I have my answer.”
Illumi kneeled, pulling Killua down to whisper in his ear.
“You don’t have the right to make friends. Nor do you need friends. You should just listen to dad and me, and do your job as you always have. When the time comes, I’ll tell you to take the Hunter Exam. You don’t need a license yet.”
After he was done, Illumi turned towards the four.
“Now… (Name), won’t you be a dear and save me the trouble from having to capture you and come to me?”
(Name) stared at him in confusion, blinking wildly. “Excuse you, but-“
She could barely process being picked up and tossed over Illumi’s shoulder. Kurapika and Leorio tried to reach for her before he had grabbed her, but they were too late.
“I’m taking her to the infirmary. This girl is mine, you hear? From this moment on she belongs to me, so don’t touch her so carelessly.”
He patted her butt before hitting her just hard enough to knock her out.
Before Kurapika and Leorio could attack, Killua stopped them with a shout.
“Don’t touch him. He’s passed, and won’t hesitate to kill you. He’s.. he probably won’t hurt her.”
The three watched Illumi leave the room, the man tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. He gently caressed her face, his aura relaxing.
“I finally have you, (Name).”
Once they reached the infirmary, he tucked her into the bed, gazing down at her with hazy eyes. He didn’t hesitate to pull back the blanket and slip into bed with her, pulling her flush against his chest, trying to be careful with her injuries.
——————
A few hours later, (Name)’s mysterious friend grips the table he sat at so tight it splintered.
“He did what?”
‘I said he attacked her quite brutally then declared she was his and walked off. Messy, really. She’s recovering in the infirmary, currently.’
The man could barely contain his bloodlust, gripping the phone so tightly the screen nearly cracked.
“Went too far. Gonna kill that man.”
He looked down at his phone screen, trying to calm himself by looking at (Name)’s smiling face.
“Keep close eye on them. Report back if something changes.”
The man hangs up without another word, opening up his messages to (Name)’s contact.
If need me, don’t hesitate. Call.
He sent the message, tapping on the broken table.
“I won’t let him have her.”

After reading the mother figure fic an idea spawned in my head,
What if in a difficult situation she sees him get hurt in battle and her sweet persona completely switches off, going into a murder rage mode
And she's actually a terrifying person that kills the enemy in cold-blood and brutally
And then after all of that she rushes over to him to make sure he's okay and not too injured and her usual caring persona switches back on
A Mother's Wrath
Tumblr media
Characters: Killua Zoldyck Type: Short Oneshot, Fem!reader (or anyone comfortable with being seen as a mother)
I tagged this for potential spoilers but idk if there really is any??? but there just in case
Warnings: canon typical violence, potential spoilers for Chimera Ant Arc
Tumblr media
This was bad.
This was REALLY bad.
Somehow, after storming off from the main group after getting frustrated, Killua had found himself surrounded by Chimera Ants. No one really understood what he was upset about, and at this point he had forgotten it completely. He had been fighting for so long, already having used Godspeed and now he was tired.
No matter what he did, there we're just too many of them. There were around 5 of them left after he had taken out countless others.
Was this really how he was going to die?
Before either Killua or the ants could strike, a silhouette flashed by as an ant's head rolled to the floor.
What the..?
Killua stared dumbfounded at the scene in front of him. You had appeared out of nowhere, disposing of the ants brutally and extremely quick. By the end of it, Chimera Ant parts were scattered across the ground.
In a state of shock and with his tiredness now settling in, Killua fell back onto the ground and propped himself up on his hands to look at you. You stood unmoving for a moment, breathing deeply, covered in the blood of the enemy. You turned slowly to look at the boy, your cold, hardened eyes returning to the soft and caring ones Killua was familiar with.
You rushed to his side to check for any injuries. After not finding anything serious, you grabbed the boy's face and made him look at you.
"Don't do anything so reckless ever again, you understand me?"
A guilty look spread across his face as he nodded at you, leaning into your embrace. You pulled him into a hug, one hand stroking his hair as the young boy wrapped his arms around you to grip the back of your shirt.
""m sorry," he trembled.
Killua was never one to be very emotionally vulnerable, but before you had showed up he was scared.
Scared he would die.
Scared he'd never see his friends again.
Scared to upset you.
Killua has been in many life threatening situations, but there was something about this in particular that set him over the edge. Maybe it was because now he had people to care for him. People who made him feel safe.
People like you.
You silently comforted the crying boy in your arms, assuring him you'd always be there. This was the closest thing Killua had felt to motherly love. He appreciated you greatly for that, even if he doesn't know how to say it.
After a few moments, you hoisted him onto your back, sensing how tired he was.
"C'mon Killua. Lets get back to the others."
