You can request some more since I've realized that I had had so many headcanons about them, and this post is only about the beginning of their relationship!

Also sorry for grammar mistakes lol

: ̗̀➛Kate is someone who has a very difficult time about expressing herself emotionally. And she had no problem with that because this was the first of the things that made her an excellent proxy. Until she met Nina, she always lived her feelings buried inside. And frankly, she tried to prevent even that.

: ̗̀➛So, she was a complete emotional mess until she met Nina. But Nina helped her to live with her feelings. She still doesn't exactly express what she feels, but at least she doesn't keep every human reaction inside.

: ̗̀➛Nina is an extremely joyful and energetic person, so she often receives warnings that she should be more calm from other people.

: ̗̀➛But not so with Kate. Kate loves these energetic states of her, no matter how annoying it is, and she never wants her to change. She wants Nina to experience all the emotions she feels openly and to the fullest. And if anyone tries to warn her, she's ready to fight.

: ̗̀➛Kate doesn't remember anything about her previous life. She doesn't remember if she has a family, friends, what she likes, what her favorite type of music is, and a ton of other things. Although this is something that she doesn't usually care much about, Nina wants to help her learn more about her past.

: ̗̀➛This is not because she wants to remind Kate her bad memories, no. The reason is to eliminate the feeling of regret, which she does not show to anyone, that Kate feels about her past. Because Kate blames herself for letting her past be taken away from her, and Nina definitely doesn't want that.

: ̗̀➛Nina regrets her past. She's really embarrassed by the point her relationship with Jeff has brought her to and she wouldn't want to repeat any of those mistakes if she could. Furthermore, she is aware of everything now and has become a person who will not repeat the same things. She's made a lot of progress since her breakup with Jeff, and Kate has helped her with that. The fact that Kate did not judged her about her past in any way and acted understanding was really a very helpful factor for Nina.

: ̗̀➛The first person to fall in love is Kate. Still, of course Nina is the one who started the whole relationship thing, but Kate is the first one to realize that she has romantic feelings for the other.

: ̗̀➛Nina is also the first one to act. Nina explained her thoughts shortly after becoming aware of her own feelings. And that day was the happiest day of Kate's new life.

: ̗̀➛They have a relationship that started quite slowly. Their relationship, which initially started with Nina finding Kate very cool and constantly not leaving her side, later continued as Kate began to enjoy Nina's presence. After this phase, Nina continued to show even more of her true personality, with Kate noticing and caring about small details about her.

: ̗̀➛And one day, when Nina got off balance while she was trying to wave towards Kate at the same time she was skating, and Kate grabbed her by the waist, Kate became aware of some of her feelings.

: ̗̀➛Nina, on the other hand, has always considered Kate as an extremely cool friend. They had a great relationship and she certainly couldn't have asked for more. But once she saw Kate injured enough to cause her death if she left untreated, she realized she never wanted to lose her.

: ̗̀➛That day, when she saw Kate covered in blood, she never left her side and waited at the end of her bed until she woke up. During the time she was waiting, she cried thinking about what she would do if Kate didn't wake up again, and she started to question some things. She couldn't imagine any point of her life without Kate. That's when she realized it.

: ̗̀➛When Kate woke up, she couldn't understand why Nina was so worried. She also didn't understand why Nina was hugging her so tight, and even if it hurt, she didn't say anything to stop her.

: ̗̀➛After that, Nina visited her every day until Kate got better, brought her food and chatted. Nina talked most of the time because Kate was too exhausted to talk, but she didn't see it as a burden just because Kate seemed to be enjoying it.

: ̗̀➛Even though Kate is an attentive listener who stays silent most of the time, she became even quieter this time because of the crawling pain in her throat whenever she tried to talk. However, She showed by hand signals that she wanted Nina to continue talking and did not waste breath in vain.

: ̗̀➛A week later, while helping Kate walk, Nina couldn't take it anymore and explained her feelings. Although Kate was shocked because she did not expect such a thing, she tried to remain reasonable and agreed with Nina.

: ̗̀➛Nina hugged Kate so hard that she almost knocked down Kate, who was still recovering from her wounds, to the ground. Of course, Kate managed to keep her balance because she is too cool, but Nina was quite embarrassed and apologized many times.

: ̗̀➛For about two months Nina had been more careful towards Kate than usual. This was not only because their relationship had officially begun, but also because she saw Kate needed help for the first time.

: ̗̀➛Nina hasn't even left Kate's side to make sure that she's eating well, spending quality time, not pushing herself on patrols, and a ton of other things. Although Kate definitely needed some private space and alone time, she also enjoyed having Nina by her side. She just wasn't used to having a human being with her for so long.

: ̗̀➛And after Kate fully recovered, they started having a lot of dates.

: ̗̀➛On these dates, they do more of the things that Nina wants, because Kate really likes to watch Nina be happy while doing the things she loves. That's why she often says she doesn't want anything and passes it off just for that reason.

: ̗̀➛Nevertheless, Nina knows what she likes and sometimes arranges surprise meetings and convinces her to do calmer things as well, such as skateboarding, playing horror games, watching movies, hiking in the forest, listening to songs together. Kate is really grateful for this.

The Proxy Laws

TW for cultish activity, enslavement, loss of anatomy, loss of freewill, death,

By Proxy Law, you are obliged to follow to following rules, specifically and exactly; otherwise, you shall be executed. Failure to follow the rules, without question, result not only in the loss of your life, but the promise of any kin to take your place, from birth. In this document, the term “Master” shall henceforth refer to any being that retains ownership over a proxy, and the term “Proxy” shall henceforth refer to said individual thus owned.

Law 1:

All those who are adopted as Proxies to any being no longer have individual volition, also known as “free will”. As the Master decrees, said Proxy shall perform, to standard, any decision or task they are commanded, without question.

Law 2:

Should said Proxy lose it's Master, a new Master may either claim said Proxy, or remove said Proxy from the environment.

Law 3:

Reins may be placed on a Proxy, in the form of an illness. Prolonged distance from the Master shall cause the Proxy to feel extreme pain, or suffer from a lapse in memory, which shall allow the Master to possess the mind and bring them back.

Law 4:

No Proxy is immortal. The Master shall allow a Proxy to live, for as long as they are important; as soon as a Proxy loses it's value, the owner may remove it from the environment, or dispose of it's body.

Law 5:

No Proxy has any ability to defy it's Master; escape and evasion are the closest to defiance that a Proxy can manage, and even then, they suffer from the effects of Law 3.

Law 6:

No hybrid, of any kind, can be initially chosen as a Proxy; only humans can be controlled by the Master, as stated in Law 3.

Law 7:

Any form of rebellious action is subject to a subsequent series of punishments, as deemed fit by the Master; should aforementioned punishments show no promise, the Proxy will be executed, to purge further instigation.

Law 8:

Interaction with other Proxies is permitted, pursuant to the consent of their Masters. Should the Masters forbid interaction, Proxies shall be subject to Law 7.

Law 9:

As stated in Law 3, the Master has sovereignty over the Proxy's mind. The Proxy's body is merely a tool for the Master; ergo, the Master may control the mind of the Proxy, as the Master sees fit. This may cause the Proxy to lose memory.

Law 10:

No Proxy may be traded for another; only in circumstance stipulated in Law 2, may a Proxy be moved.

Law 11:

Proxies may not have sexual relations with the opposite gender of any kind of being; should the Proxy become impregnated, the next of kin shall become the replacement Proxy, and the parent shall die.

Law 12:

No Proxy can be transmutated, from human to any other kind of being; should the Proxy metamorphose, the Proxy must be executed, in fear of retribution.

Law 13:

No Proxy may communicate to anyone of their previous life, unless commanded by the Master to keep said relations.

Law 14:

Sleeper Proxies are permitted, but shall only be awakened if the Master uses them as a last resort.

Law 15:

Should a Proxy be captured by an enemy and the Master can sense it's distress, the Master can either remove all memory and function, or force the Proxy to die, to preserve any important information in the possession of the Master.

Law 16:

Should the Masters be threatened by another, and Proxies be caught between both parties, said Proxies are permitted to fight to the death, unless the Master deems otherwise.

Law 17:

Any Proxy with a special skill may be owned, but any potential Proxy with special abilities may not, in fear of retaliation.

Law 18:

No animals are permitted as Proxies, though, if trained, they may aide a Proxy.

Law 19:

When a Proxy is claimed, regardless of age, they are removed from their former life and retrieved for training. No Proxy remains in their former life, after being claimed.

Law 20:

The Masters may permit weapons; if the item is prohibited by Master it cannot be used. If the weapon cannot be successfully concealed, or fails the test of practicality, said weapon is prohibited.

Law 21:

Proxies may fight, or be obedient to, each-other, should neither be killed in the process, as it is understood that they are items that, ultimately, only serve their Master.

Subject Law 1:

Any Master may change how Law 3 affects their Proxy, but no other Proxy; should a Proxy be reclaimed by another Master, the previous effect is made null and void.

Subject Law 2:

Interactions between Proxies and other kinds of beings may be permitted or prohibited by their Master, as long as they do not conflict with Law 11.

MORE NINAKATE HEADCANONS 🔥 (Ill write more proper pieces in the future, for now yall are getting rambles)

- Nina invites Kate to raves and parties, but she refuses to go due to her migraines, sensitivity to light, and cuz shes a feral killer proxy misanthrope…

- Nina sometimes ends up drinking or smoking too much and comes home sick and a mess. Kate just softly scolds her, gives her stupid drunk gf a kiss, and takes her to bed

- She wakes up changed into pajamas, not a clue what happened, Kates already gone doing god knows what. But man its so much nicer for her knowing shes being taken care of

- Kate started off being very against the idea of make up, dressing up, nails done, etc. Until one night after Nina had spent hours begging Kate to let her do her makeup. Nina leaned in so close, so close. Kate didn’t get why her heart was beating so fast, or why she kept eyeing the girls lips. She thought she was getting sick again or something

- After that, she was more open to the idea. Especially since its an excuse to have Nina touch her. And she hasn’t been touched as if she was anything but a monster in so long

- Nina is soft, happy, a loving lover. She absolutely showers Kate with affection and is horribly devoted. She has a journal she doodles and writes in. 90% of that journal is about Kate

- Kate skates, both board and roller skating. Roller derby was a huge interest of hers, but circumstances never really let her fully pursue it. So some nights Nina will take her to a desolate skatepark and Kate will teach Nina to skate

- Once she gets the hang of it, rollerskating dates are frequent. One time, when she was still learning, Nina slipped and busted her ass. Kate laughed so hard water came out of her nose, before she ran to Ninas side to check on her

- Nina was fine of course, but god was she unresponsive. All she could think about was that strong, rough laugh. She started doing everything she could to make Kate laugh, even bought herself a “how to be funny” book

- I headcanon Nina to have BPD. Kate is very good at being her FP, and handles her episodes well. It took Nina awhile to learn how to manage her own episodes as well, especially after she relied so heavily on certain behaviours to get attention from Jeff

- But Kate helped her learn how to calm herself down, how to control her emotions and overthinking. And everyone noticed the improvement in her mental health. Having a person who cared, tried, understood

- And Kate is very protective. She was with Charlie, and she is with Nina. Absolutely no one gets to hurt her, talk bad about her, torment her. Toby went too far with a joke once and accidentally made Nina cry. Tim had to hold Kate back from breaking his jaw

- Theyre each others safe person, a place in the terrible, chaotic world they live in where they can find peace

- They have their own history, secrets, inside jokes. Nobody expected the two to get together, especially not a girl like Kate falling in love. But Nina saw that humanity in her and brought it out in ways nobody had even bothered to try, and Kates patience for her sunshine is infinite

- Surprisingly, works out very well
