It’s abt trust and pain. The one w the arrow of love/hate (everyone forgets Cupid/Eros has hate arrows too) is the one that controls the relationship. Kate could easily deepen their relationship or sever her ties w her because of her slender sickness. Kate gives me the vibes of someone who would do anything to keep her loved ones safe even if that means hurting them to protect them. If Kate thought that the operator saw nina and a hinderance to Kate’s responsibilities he’d tell Kate to cut it off or he’d start to go after her. Kate would be heartbroken to do so but would rather have Nina hate her and be safe than love her and be in danger. Not only that but Kate is not as emotionally intelligent as Kate and has a hard time accepting her feelings for the pretty girl and would probably push her away to get rid of the feelings at the beginning of their relationship. Nina is more mature when it comes to understanding her emotions and her type in ppl. Kate is also very much the one who dictates whether the relationship goes anywhere or not. Kate and Rouge are both people who hold up similar standards. They work for Slenderman, both dwell around the forest and are silent. So if they are similar, why do they hate eachother? They don’t. Kate and Rouge have more of a competitive rivarly, Kate is extremely weary of Rouge because of her goals and motivations. But Kate is also extremely paranoid of everything, her anxious behavior paired with Rouge’s unreadable tones make her go into complete panic. Not to mention her fear of being touched/neared dominantes whenever rouge is around. I like to believe that rouge does not do it on purpose and Kate is just being really really fucking annoying. Their interactions aren’t hostile because rules prevent them from fighting it’s more like . “ i don’t like you.”

Toby and Clockwork were so used to hearing Nina come to them about the most heartbreaking things regarding her relationship with Jeff. Him ignoring her for weeks, calling her names, using her, threatening her. Now that Nina's with Kate, they're secretly so relieved to hear Nina complaining about mundane, normal relationship things now

I got to thinking about something because of a post by @crushedsweets (here is the link go check it out), one of my favorite things about the creepypasta fandom on tumblr specifically is just how freely you can interpret the characters due to the fact their og works are either lacking detail or are just straight up deleted. They said it's like we're 5 and playing with toys again, and i really cannot agree more because it's like everyone who writes or talks about them has a unique spin on them. Everyone here has an au version of every character and it genuinely makes me so happy to see so many options for how they could act and behave. I grew up with quotev and wattpad being my main sources of creepypasta stuff and usually there were only 2 common interpretations: very cutesy and "omg i luv waffles xD" or "they are ruthless killers with no soul and no heart they only live to kill and they are pure evil incarnate and only do horrible things all the time" and that felt so limiting. On tumblr I could look up any character from the fandom and usually I can get a varied amount of personalities to pick from because each writer interprets them differently and treats them like multifaceted characters. It's genuinely beautiful to me. It's really healing 14 year old me who thought I'd be cringe for thinking they could be a little silly sometimes and not always purely evil and messed up.
