Wait,I'm not on Tumblr,I honestly just check a few pages of writers I like so what's happening? I know about the prequel from Jensen's Instagram,but what happened with Jared!?! I need the tea. (Also on the topic of the spinoff, I'm not necessarily mad about it, but I just think it's funny how they'll let them do a prequel about the winchesters when I don't think anyone has ever asked for that but say no to wayward daughters and openly bi dean with cas. They'll do anything except inclusivity

Oh God, okay so 1) it's all blown over already (sorry, I legit haven't been on tumblr desktop for like 2 days) and 2) I don't know that I'm super qualified to answer. BUT, nevertheless:

Under a read more for my non SPN followers who are desperately avoiding this knowledge:

Part One: The Prequel

Jensen and Danneel take to Twitter to announce that they're working with the C Double You to bring a Supernatural Prequel to fruition. It's about how John and Mary fell in love, and it is narrated by Jensen as Dean. [[Side Note: I read earlier today (6/26) that Jensen directly addressed that they are taking canon into consideration and it's been fun working with that. I can only hope he means addressing the Cupid throwaway line from "My Bloody Valentine."]]

Part Two: The Fan Response

Everyone takes to Twitter to groan really loudly cause like - dude, it's been less than a year. Let us rest. And if you were going to immediately jump back on the bandwagon before you officially exited, then like, WHY JOHN??? NO ONE LIKES JOHN!!! NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS!!! (Clarification: We like Jeffrey Dean Morgan. We do not like John Winchester.)

Part Three: The Cast Response

A few Supernatural stars chime in with their support for Jensen and the prequel. Namely Misha, who slyly suggests that this show could do with a time-traveling angel.

BUT THEN

Jared enters the scene and - while he congratulates Jensen - he openly says he "wishes he heard about it some way other than Twitter" and that he's had no involvement in the project.

Well, obviously, everyone thought he was joking. Haha Jared! Very funny! It's not actually funny! What are you doing?! Which prompts Jared to tweet. "No. This is not a joke. I'm gutted."

Jared goes on to tweet one of the SPN producers, also working on the prequel and says, unironically: "Et tu, Brute?" And calls him a coward. Eventually, Jared realizes that might be a little too on the nose and deletes the tweet.

Part Four: The Fan Response (Reprise)

Everyone forgets that they're mad about the prequel because this is much more important. Most of the people I see on Twitter start hashtags like #JusticeForJared and #JusticeForSamWinchester. Most of the people I see on Tumblr are falling over themselves laughing and meme-ing like it's November 5th again. Jensen might have been a dick to Jared, but everyone is too busy cackling about that to heckle him about his terrible prequel idea.

Part Five: Denouement

Jared finally goes silent (presumably because either his wife or agent tackled him and took his phone) and Jensen...well Jensen's been silent for months lmfao. Today they both tweet that they sat down and had a long talk. The show has a long way to go, Jared considers this situation "a bump in the road" but they're still brothers. Jensen replies that he loves Jared, he "forgets how much face time they used to have" and essentially implies that it was out of sight out of mind and he straight up forgot to tell Jared he was doing this. Absolute madman.

Anyway! That's what you missed on the finale of Supernatural Season 16, The Reality Arc.

Where had he gone wrong?

The plan was set, he was about to achieve godhood. He was about to finally prove to his mother that he was much, much more powerful than she could ever imagine. But most importantly, he was about to finally seal the deal with you, about to claim you for all eternity. You were supposed to be his sweet, submissive, little devout follower.

And yet, despite all his efforts, here he was watching you with that blonde goody-two-shoes brat.

The Traveller.

And what made it worse was the stupid god that favored him oh-so-much, standing right beside the Traveller, almost mocking Scaramouche, slapping him in the face with reality.

He was never loved. And he never would be.

Not by his mother, not by his "friends", and worse of all, not by you.

Rather than this making him sad, he only lashed out with rage, his attacks getting increasingly sloppy and desperate.

He hated to admit it, but he was scared. Alone, scared, and honestly all he wanted was to take you back to where you truly belonged. To him, and him alone.

And yet, every time he looked at your face filled with horror and fear, yelling for the Traveler and the god to win, he felt something in his hollow chest. Guilt, pleasure, or anger? He didn't know, and he honestly could care less right now. If he just attacked better, if he was faster, if he had help, he would win.

But the victory never came.

All that came was the overtowering emptiness that it had all been for nothing.

He was going to lose his follower, he was going to lose his gnosis, and he was going to be hated much more than he already was by the Fatui.

No. No, no no no no no-

This cant happen. It wasn't part of the plan.

He watched the fairy-like god take the electro gnosis from the chest of his robot.

But he didn't run out. He didn't try to save the gnosis.

He slowly staggered out and didn't pay mind to the god in front of him. Instead, he looked over her shoulder, directly at you. He slowly reached a hand out to you, begging you to come back. Thats all he wanted.

You would come back to him, right? You had to.

You were the only thing he had left.

You could clearly see the desperation in his eyes, yet the amount of abuse and neglect you received from him kept your feet planted right where you were. You didn't move an inch. You merely glared at him, nothing but rage filling your body. He wants you to run back to him? Just two days ago, you were barely a person to him.

The Traveler, knowing what abuse you had received from Scaramouche, stepped in front of you protectively.

Where had he gone wrong?

Living was wrong.

His hand fell to his side, and he looked down at the ground. He had nothing left.

There is no point in living.

And he jumped, watching as the ground rushed towards him.

"IF ONLY I KNEW WHAT I WALKED INTO..."

You looked down at your watch to make sure the time was right.

8:29 PM, good, a minute early. You inhaled before pushing the doors open to the fancy restaurant, the place where you were supposed to meet your friends for dinner tonight.

If only you knew right what you were walking into.

You walked across the floor, happily telling the waitress who the owner of your table was. After doing so, she led you over to your table, where you expected all of your friends to be sitting there, messing around with each other. Right?

Wrong.

You looked over and you saw only him sitting there.

Poe.

Though, you didn't mind! Poe was your friend, and you just assumed that everyone was running late, which was confirmed by Poe himself.

"Ah, Poe, is it alright if I sit next to you?" You asked him, and he nodded. "Of course, I reserved this spot for you." He patted the seat next to him. You smiled happily and skipped over to him, plopping down right beside him.

"Poe, do you know where the others are?" You asked, whilst scanning the menu. "Oh, they're running late. They should be here soon." He said, before pointing to your favorite dish. "We should share this, I really like it." He mentioned passively. You smiled at him, "Really?! This is my favorite one, I'd be more than willing to share!" Poe, usually, would blush at your compliments.

But not today.

He simply gave a small smile before turning back and calling a waitress over, ordering what you two decided on. Thats weird. You thought but shrugged it off as him having one of his confident streaks. This usually happened when he wasn't comparing himself to Ranpo after all, and he seemed very content next to you.

Ranpo.

Where were the others?

You knew they were late sometimes, but never this late.

Poe seemed to notice your distress and suggested that you two go on a walk for a bit. You smiled at him, happily accepting.

"What about the food?" You joked with him, and he smiled a bit at said joke before responding with, "Don't worry, I'm sure that once the others get here, they will keep it warm for us." He held open the door for you and you thanked him, waving bye to everyone there then walking out with him.

The usual dark look crossed his face when the waitress waved and told you two to have a nice walk. But you didn't bat an eye at this, it was normal to you by now.

You stretched and took in the fresh breeze. Walking out with Poe was a good idea, as he seemed very, very calm tonight. Much more than usual, but who wouldn't be if the night was as peaceful as this?

"Hey, Poe?" You muttered, looking up at him slowly.

He hummed, before looking back over at you.

"Thanks for being such a great friend, you always know the best ways to help me calm down." You smiled at him, you didn't know what came over you, but you wanted to show him that you were really happy to have him around.

At this, the cocky attitude he had vanished, his eyes widening and a blush slowly covering his face.

"Ah... Y/N..." He looked away, not knowing what to say.

Or, so you thought.

What you didn't see was the guilt on his face at what he was about to do.

But he knew that deep down, winning you over was not enough. Society would corrupt you. Society would take you away.

He needed you all to himself, away from everyone and everything. He didn't care who he lost on the way, as long as he got you.

That's all he needed.

And so, his little plan came to fruition.

"Y/N..." He gulped, before looking over at you with the kindest expression he could muster. "Is it alright if I take you somewhere?"

You continue smiling at him, his expression pulling at your heartstrings. "Of course!" You said, following him happily.

Small talk accompanied the two of you while you walked in the streets. However, looking at your watch, you realized how late it was! "Poe, I think we should go back, the others are probably there by now." You said, looking back up at him.

"Y/N, could I please take you to the place I was talking about? We are almost there." He said hurriedly and anxiously. You noticed this, but he was probably just nervous about what you would think. "Alright, but let's hurry!~" You exclaimed.

You two reached a dark alleyway, and you looked up at him. "Wow! It looks super scary, let's go in it!" You said.

He smiled a bit at this. Wow, you were really just happily going step by step.

It was so easy with you.

He looked at you before inhaling and reaching into his suit pocket.

"Y/N. Come here." He almost whispered, and you happily obliged him.

"I have a gift for you." He said, handing you a book. You gasped happily. "What is it about?!" You exclaimed.

He smiled sweetly at you.

"Why don't you read a bit and find out?"

You, even knowing his ability, happily flipped open the book, demonstrating just how much you trusted him.

And you were such a fool.

As you read, a person a little bit too much like you, and a person a little bit too much like him were madly in love with each other.

The mystery?

You will find out soon enough.

You gasped as a blinding light flashed in front of you, and Poe quickly grabbed onto you.

And before you could even say a word in protest.

Everything went black.

The book dropped to the floor.

And it was almost like no one was ever there.
