Danny Fenton isn’t dead. And Maddie is grateful for that, as his mother. But, as a scientist, she knows, realistically, he should be dead. Yet here he is, walking around with enough ectoplasmic contamination in his system to kill a grown man ten times, acting like nothing is wrong. What the honest fuck.
Maddie’s first theory is ectocontamination. A severe case. The problem with this theory is that there’s no proof of contamination besides the absurd amount of ectoplasm in Danny’s system. No adverse health effects as far as they can tell. Which is oddーwhen she compares it to her other theories.
Her second theoryーJack’s firstーis possibly low level possession. But, again, Danny shows no signs or symptoms besides his ectoplasmic levels. He can even pass through the Fenton Ghost Shield.
Third? Maybe he isn’t affected as much by ectoplasm and so it just sticks to him without any adverse effects. She did handle samples while pregnant, which wasn’t very good. But, again, the problem here is that the same could be said of Jazz, and she has a perfectly normal level of ectocontamination. And when she had gotten severely contaminated, Jazz fell illーalong with dozens of other students from Casper High.
It is quite literally just Danny.
Danny Fenton is an enigma. Maddie finds herself stuck in this thought loop often. Her son doesn’t even seem to notice the absolutely massive amount of ectoenergy he gives off. Normally, that much would be coming from the deceased victim of contamination or a ghost, not a healthy, living teenager.
And Danny is healthy. Nothing is wrong with him besides that. Which is weird. Well, it’s good that he isn’t dying, but… scientifically impossible. Never before witnessed. An anomaly in the field of paranormal science. A human giving off so much ectoplasmic energy a day, it could fuel a blob ghost, without recharging, for ten years.
Another mystery. How did Danny discover blob ghosts before she or Jack did? Why didn’t he tell them before one wandered out of his room? And why on Earth would he give them such a ridiculous, albeit accurate, name?
Maddie feels like her head is going to explode. She wishes she could justーask. But her son thoroughly avoids any mention of ghosts. Add it to the list. Because that’s what this is becoming. Just a list of odd things about her son that she can’t solve. Her son that should be dead, but against all odds isn’t.

the mortifying feeling when you spot a typo (used affect instead of effect) on one of your posts. But that post has over 3000 notes now so you just kind of have to live with it.
I PROMISE I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AFFECT AND EFFECT GUYS. THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING.

Nine got little three brothers he loves and one big brother now 😢. Does sonic ever tell him about the big brother privilege or not? Does Managey knows about the lil brother privilege as well.
Mangey knows the youngest brother privileges very very well. He has been using them before having even met Sonic.
Nine I think doesn't know about the older sibling privileges yet. And Sonic forgot to tell him. Tails already started using the middle child privileges by not telling him.
Anyways, weeks later, some silly thing would happen in Sonic's absence and then he'd remember & tell Nine about big brother privileges, so the foxes wouldn't do anything crazy in his absence which has the probability of future consequences.
Buuut it wouldn't go as he had assumed because then he'll have three bros complaining and pleading not to tell Nine and Nine himself half eagerly going,
"So you're telling me I could've grounded Sails the whole time?!"
"-ye dare try that 'n me 'ill throw ye to the sharks!"
"Sonic, please don't! You don't understand what he'd do with that power!"
*Cue Mangey pulling at Sonic's hand and whining at him with pleading puppy eyes*

Anyway, if you aren’t Black don’t use any variation of woke. I don’t care what conservatives are calling fuckers/using as the new sjw/political correctness/what have you.
If you know what fuckers mean use what they mean, and if you don’t why are you copying what people are saying?
Woke ain’t for you. If the discussion isn’t about Black people being aware of and/or educating other Black people about racism/antiblackness/structural inequality/all the other bullshit then it doesn’t need to be used in the discussion.

Emergency at Zaiban Castle
Silly convo after 4/20 where the thought of "imagine Rita watching Moffun and Me while high" flashed through my head and spawned this monstrosity of a thought.
Retainer Poker Night has snacks with weed in them (bc have you've seen their bosses?) and they all take turns making them. Morf forgot to put a warning label when it was her turn and Rita thought it was the usual "I had time to bake stuff" the two do so...

Let me be absolutely clear -- the problems with Tumblr will keep getting worse if the disabled minority and the trans people and the people frothing at the mouth at the opportunity to yell at a transphobe, keep @’ing staff and the developers on this site, tell them to kys, because in the meanwhile the transphobes and racists and white supremacists will keep using the actual tools Tumblr provides for blocking and reporting, further poisoning the datasets used for moderation, and encouraging the idea that using the official tools does nothing to basically ensure the only statistically meaningful data available to Automattic is poisoned, poisoned all the way down, poisoned beyond usability.
Hatespeech and bias needs to be reported for it to be considered statstically significant to act on from a developer point of view. Suicide baiting and spamming any of the official means of communication will get you eliminated as a spammer, even if you’re peppering legitimate criticism within your ventpost about how you hate the new thing. You are playing the TE/RFs game.

nothing against this post or these people in particular but My Fucking God Does Nobody Know What Infantilization Means Anymore
twitter thinks onceler style sexymanification is infantilization now, that's how much we've let the term degrade into nothingness
"infantilization" is when something doesn't look the way it did in canon, "uwu softboy" is when a guy is there and I don't like it, I'm sick of this shit fr

Finished The Night Circus. underwhelming. felt like it needed at least two more drafts tbh.
sorry to everyone that absolutely loves this book like I do see it. I see the appeal. But imo none of the elements that made it interesting were used to their full potential. I thought the plotline would have benefited from a tighter causal chain instead of things just happening at some point because someone decided it might as well happen now, I guess.
It's definitely a valid choice to treat the reader as a sort of outsider in order to prioritize a sense of mystery, but in some ways I felt too far removed to properly care about any of the characters or stakes.
Lots of unnecessary summary; not enough convincing me. More moodboard than story. Also apparently no one involved in any step of the publication process knew how to punctuate.

and another thing about that movie
This bit would have been such a lovely opportunity for some wholesome mother-son bonding via sweet, sweet regicide.
Don't you think?
Go on, you can be each other's alibi. I would normally recommend not having any witnesses to such deeds, but the odds that your mother or your son will decide to rat on you for the murder you did together are probably lower than average.
Sorry, did I say murder? Of course it wasn't murder. He just died. Look, there were two of them in the room, surely one of them would have noticed if the other had done something like that? What, don't you trust them? It's his wife and his son! He can't have been murdered by his wife and his son!

You should always be wary of people who swear off therapy and then minimize, attack and step over your own feelings and experiences, because they think they're above having therapy, or they've tried it for one day, or one week and didn't seek another professional's advice.
Because genuinely, my heart goes out to everyone whose tried therapy and it hasn't worked for them because of problems outside of their control. But for people who fight you on the fact that therapy never works, not for anyone, and that they're better off just reading psychology and theory, those are the people that you should criticize the most.
It is obvious to anyone in the disabled or neurodivergent or mentally ill community that plenty of professionals are fucking stupid or ignorant because they haven't researched enough or learned past a certain point in their lives and stopped helping their patients beyond what they took tests for. And those are the people who let down people the most when it comes to helping people. Those are the people you shouldn't trust with your time or money.
So what makes you think that reading a couple psychology books, probably the same old, traditional bullshit, that they taught to all those terrible doctors, will actually help with yours or anyone else's mental health issues. Everyone whose met an annoying psychology major knows. It's clear that trying to be intellectually superior than a literal patient in therapy, or someone actually living with the disabilities described in those books, isn't the brightest idea.
As someone whose tried and failed to DIY their own mental health journey, it is not easy nor recommended to go through this shit alone. You probably shouldn't, because its damn well easy to make your mental health worse, because it's so easy to fuck something up. Like accidentally or purposely triggering yourself, in order to get to the bottom to why you're feeling something. It's not fun.
So please, if you're having trouble finding therapy, there are community resources out there to help you deal with shit on your own, but don't go spouting stuff you don't actually understand.
Don't go trusting strangers who say they have the answers to self help, and then twist around actual clinical terms to bring their point home, don't listen to those people. Don't listen to people who spitefully swear off therapy because they think they can handle it all by themselves. Just don't trust people who don't actually have a degree, and still criticize the ones that do. If some advice to you, seems off, or overblown or diminished, you should be questioning that advice. You should be getting a second opinion.
I make mental health and disabled content all the time on here because I want people to be informed, and to find community and resources to get the help that you need. But you can't pull therapy words out of your ass and expect people not to question you. Talk to the community and don't just go informing random strangers, if you don't know what you're talking about.
If you abuse your platform to misinform other ignorant people, you deserve to have your platform taken away. So treat the chance to educate people as a privilege, don't use it to spout bullshit that you don't understand. Therapy isn't a last resort, so don't listen to anyone that treats it that way.

Y’all absolutely need to touch grass if you’re policing the sanctity of a fictional character and that goes double if you are harassing real people over it.
It’s alright if you’re uncomfy with other people’s characterizations or projected desires onto your smol bean-ified comfort characters. There are more things than I can count that weird me out in fandoms. But to react as if you are morally superior than someone else because of your preferences or act as if you being offended is equal to actual real-life harm is absolutely wild.
Fictional characters are a conglomerate of flattened personality traits and aesthetics, nothing more. In most cases, everything is arbitrary. In all cases, everything is make-believe.
So, like… maybe take a breather.
