"since when were you the one in control?"
you did the whole "sparing" thing. now, you wanted to bend this world to your will. you didn't just want to kill few monsters or grind for gold, you wanted to eradicate everyone.
how far can it be pushed?
"let's destroy everything in this wretched world"
you and flowey have a plan to become more and more powerful. so you kept killing. even when undyne and sans put up as much of a fight as they could. and you killed flowey, too, because why should he get to boss you around?
then, chara appears.
"let us erase this pointless world, and move on to the next."
well, who are they to tell you what to do? this world is truly yours. maybe you have a perverted sentimentality, maybe you're a contrarian. you refuse.
"since when were you the one in control?"
and... your world is deleted. sure, you, the player, had power over this world that its characters could never imagine, but there's one thing that will always have power over you. the game.
it lets you go back. it's not a loophole you've found, don't think for a second you've got away with what you did. the game is letting you do this, so it can laugh in your face when you try to pretend nothing happened.
undertale is a game that wants you to know that every choice you make is a choice the game gave you. so don't get comfortable. don't act like you're the one in control.

1: Magic is a Metaphor > 2: Morgana is a Lesbian > 3: Merlin is Gay > 4: Arthur is Bi
Obviously, magic is a metaphor for being gay. It is something that you're born with, that you can't change, but that you have to hide because the society around you won't accept you. Both Merlin and Morgana are always saying that they've been made to feel like a monster, an outsider, and they just want to be accepted for who they really are. And it's no coincidence that they are the most queer coded characters in the whole show.
But building off of that subtext, I think that you can read the different way that Merlin and Morgana go about trying to achieve equal rights as being an allegory for queer identity politics, where Merlin embodies this homonationalist assimilation strategy. He believes that if he stays closeted and conforms to the status quo, then eventually he will prove that sorcerers are good, moral, normal people and therefore worthy of rights. But over time, he internalises all of this shame and self-hatred and becomes increasingly obsessed with Arthur and dependent on his validation until he becomes complicit in his own oppression.
Meanwhile, Morgana represents a radical rebellion ideology. Even though she comes from a place of privilege, she quickly realises that she can't achieve meaningful change through constitutional methods and therefore resorts to violent protest. But her downfall is that she's more motivated by personal vengeance than a genuine desire for equality. So she creates a lot of infighting within the community by shunning anyone whose ideas aren't as extreme as her own, and she inadvertently confirms all of the negative stereotypes about 'angry witches' that she has been trying to fight against.
Obviously I don't think that all of this political commentary is intentional, but the basic idea of magic being gay is definitely intentional. As evidenced by this quote from the executive producer of the show, where he says very sarcastically, "some people say that (magic) is a metaphor for his sexuality, but that's just read in by them, isn't it? On no level is magic metaphorical in this show." And then Katie McGrath says, "it's funny because I don't actually think you're being sincere." And then she says directly to the audience, "Julian is lying right now."

am I the only one who thinks Buck and Tommy didn't immediately go off and have sex after the episode?
I don't even think they went home together
they kissed again before they went their separate ways, of course, but I don't think Buck would go off and get laid right after coming out to his entire family
in my head, Tommy said his congratulations, had cake, kissed Buck goodbye (privately, to not take attention away from the happy couple) and got an Uber back to harbor (because he's not going to pull Buck away from celebrating with his sister just because Tommy had a long shift and he wants to get his car and go home and shower and sleep)
idk. I'm seeing a lot of posts about them going off and fucking immediately (and I'm reading the fics, I'm having a great time, it's not about the fic and all that), and I'm wondering if my thoughts are logical at all or if I'm just ace and my brain doesn't automatically jump to sex as the defining moment in making a relationship more official or whatever

insert really smart comment here that makes you go "wow that was really smart i like this guy"
his note i wrote under the cut
Dear Betty,
Firstly I want to thank you, for everything.
All your sacrifices, your wishes, your love and care.
I wont let them go unnoticed any longer.
I was a fool, blinded by my own blissful ignorance.
You were my princess but i failed as your hero.
This experience has opened up my eyes,
made me realize things I should have seen sooner.
Its silly really, I cared so much for you that I ended up hurting you.
I am forever sorry for the pain i’ve caused.
I wont let you down again, I don’t think you’ll let me.
I will live every day to the fullest, for you but especially for myself. You’ve shown me I deserve to live, and I’m going to.
I have daughters, both capable and intelligent.
I have a family, I can no longer waste my life away, I am not alone. Thank you, for helping me realize that.
Love, Simon

Idk if I'm the odd one out or what but there are a few people who I've never actually interacted with irl but I love. Like, love love. Let me explain.
I mean I'll take them as a lover, or a brother or a friend, a mentor a guardian, anything! I just need their existence in my life, I just need them in my life and just to be clear, by "love" I don't mean romantic love, not necessarily at least, as I said before a lover, a brother or a friend, they just have this warmth engraved in them, literal sunshines.
Btw, the people I'm talking about are Steve (Stranger Things), Lucas (Stranger Things), Jonathan Byers (Stranger Things) Finn Wolfhard, Alec Benjamin, Arthur (BBC Merlin), Merlin (BBC Merlin) Nanamin (Jujutsu Kaisen), Yeong gi (I love Yoo), Yohan (My deepest secret), Hyuk Lee (Sweet home webtoon)

something that irks me quite a bit is when people disavow the shitty stuff in homestuck by saying the only good thing about it is the fandom instead of engaging with the source material critically. i think it is really sidestepping the issue. like i get it, i get that such hostility has been encouraged by the author's antagonistic creative persona and absolutely incoporated into the work itself but i personally do actually like the source material for what it is despite being incredibly critical of it and the author's writing choices. idk. trying to pull this misunderstood ass version of death of the author by acting like the material's only worth lies in being raw material for a fandom to feed upon and repurpose into its objectively better form, and just overall lionizing the fan community rubs me the wrong way
