I don't really consider that first comic to be canon, it was just a silly idea I had. Sponsor calling Fastpass babygirl tho does feel like something that would actually happen lol
I've wanted to make some Sponsor X Fastpass content for a long time now but I never got around to it and that's a shame. It's funny tho how neither of these actually have Sponsor and Fastpass together in the same image, but whatever sometimes it be like that

Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers pt2
Episode 1 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 3 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 4 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 5 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 6 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 7 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here and here
Episode 8 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 9 of My Adventure with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 10 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
(SPOILERS obviously):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An obvious one, but a classic, the "up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!" line reference. This one never gets old.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jimmy next name drops Flamebird. in the comics Nightwing and Flamebird were Kryptonian superheroes adopting their names from a species of Kryptonian birds. This is where Dick Grayson gets his Nightwing identity from. The page here is from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #17 (1986) drawn by Curt Swan and Karl Kesel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the climatic battle of part 2 of Adventures of a Normal Man, we see Leslie Willis become blue and look more like her traditional Livewire look. Her first appearance was in Superman the Animated Series, season 2 episode 5 "Livewire" where she was voiced by Lori Petty, a.k.a. Tank Girl. In the show Leslie was a shock jock radio DJ slinging hot takes live on air knocking down Superman a peg or two
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously MAwS took Leslie in a whole different direction, design choice, and occupation change, but I am excited to see what happens next for her.
Tumblr media
Before we see Clark battle Leslie we see this guy. White hair, wears orange and black, its Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. This fool here in like 20 to 25 years will have his life spiral out of control and get his ass kicked by a bunch of colorfully dressed teenagers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deathstroke makes his first appearance in New Teen Titans #2 (1980) (W: Marv Wolfman and George Perez, P: George Perez, I: Romeo Tanghal, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda) where he is hired by H.I.V.E. to kill the Teen Titans. In the comics he's a major piece of shit, but a damn good assassin.
Tumblr media
After the fight we see Supes clean up and he picks up a billboard that reads Amazotech.
Tumblr media
This is a good reference to Professor Anthony Ivo, a mad scientist of the DC Universe who built the Amazo robot who could adapt and replicate any power that the Justice League has and weaknesses. Both Ivo and the Amazo robot make their first appearances here in Brave and the Bold #30 (1960) with the cover art done by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode Slade name drops Task Force X better known as the Suicide Squad. The name "Suicide Squad" is from the Brave and the Bold #25 where it was the name of Rick Flag's unit in the military. The Suicide Squad pop culture knows first debuted in Legends #3 (1987) as seen below (W: John Ostrander and Len Wein, P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: Steve Haynie).
Tumblr media
The team at this time was composed of Rick Flag, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Enchantress, and Blockbuster. The team members have changed out with each new Task Force X/Suicide Squad iteration.
Tumblr media
Behind Slade, here is Amanda Waller, the most fearsome woman in the DC universe. She's ruthless, politically powerful, and will not hesitate to blow up anyone in the Suicide Squad if they screw up. She makes her first appearance in Legends #1 (1987) same comic series in the previous picture. Very excited to see where My Adventures with Superman goes with this cuz you don't see Superman interact with Deathstroke or Suicide Squad all the often.

SURPRISE! I'm covering something I never would've thought I would, the first two episodes of Adult Swim's My Adventures with Superman. In short, it was f*cking GREAT. I am so looking forward to watching more of Clark Kent's origin story play out, how his relationship with Lois Lane will unfold, and how he and Jimmy Olsen will be put to the test in their new internship at the Daily Planet, all while contending with a shocking villain.

Looking at the villians they had for My Adventures with Superman,
They honestly picked the best choices they could for a Season 1 rogues gallery.
Think about it (way too much detail below):
They didn't want to dip too far into multiverse and multidimensional villians, outside of Mxyztplk to introduce the concept, so they couldn't pull out Ultraman or Superboy/man Prime (who needs a Crisis Event to even exist properly if they want to do him nicely and that's a whole other can of worms).
They couldn't introduce Kryptonite soon enough for Metallo or Conduit to be relevant, and Metallo also kinda needs Lexcorp to exist beforehand (unless they wanna go with the military origin version who doesn't need Lex).
Conduit also requires an intense murderous rivalry with Clark from Smallville, which how they have made Clark Kent in this iteration, wouldn't make sense. What would he be pissed over, Clark beating him at a chess tournament?!?
Bizarro also comes from Lex's machinations having been a failed clone he created.
Aliens are *not* a common thing known, so intergalactic villains like Darkseid, Lobo, Mongol, and Zod aren't ones to form as threats until Clark knows what Krypton even is, or at least has a vague kind of idea.
We also don't have STAR Labs (yet) and barely have an evil form of Cadmus Labs (sincw they kinds blend in with Task Force X)
Honestly on that front, they did great reworking to have Parasite and Intergang in here as threats, since their origins/threat levels are often tied to Darkseid. Pairing them with Silver Banshee and Ivo were smart in that regards.
And yeah, I can hear the complaints already about Banshee not being a Metahuman and Livewire not being a Shock Jock, but metahumans being a thing not originating from a hush hush experiment from the military (as Episode 9 suggests is happening with Leslie) wouldn't work with how they formed Jimmy's story arc.
On top of that, Silver Banshee was born of magic shenanigans, and introducing that weakness before his more famous one of glowy rock with no known helpful magical allies would have been a major misstep, because that would essentially leave Clark no way to counter and win. She could still mess around with magic angle later in, though, after getting a taste of the power via the tech. (And maybe her sparking a romance with Jimmy, eh?)
As for Livewire not being a Shock Jock, that requires the fact of Superman being previously established as a hero in Metropolis for a time for there to be news about him (and a prominent radio station in Metropolis for Leslie to get zappy-zapped by radio tower after getting fired), which wouldn't work since the show's story makes it clear that Lois and Jimmy are the first ones to encounter him. {Also going the influencer angle wouldn't make sense for her getting electric powers because how would she get zapped while uploading vids on YouTube? Wifi or 5G doesn't work like that.}
Therefore, blending them in with Waller's proto-Suicide Squad of criminals and Sam Lane's distrustful actions against Nemesis Omega all wrapped in a military/government jingoistic bow was a smart move to not make some major potholes for the purpose of story direction. And making them have powers from repurposed Kryptonian tech also equals the unspoken question of "how is Superman constantly getting his ass beat?"
The only other real "Superman" villians they would have room left to mess with would be Toyman, the Atomic Skull, Ultra-humanite, Titano, Chemo, Bloodsport, the Prankster, Volcana (who is barely a villian and is more a victim of circumstance), Mr. Zed, and Manchester Black (depending how they implement them). And we very well may see many of them in Season 2, along with some of the ones from above, now that Kryptonite and the Multiverse exists now and Brainiac and other Krypton survivors have been teased.
They did their best with what they had left to work with, if they wanted to give us the beautiful characterizations and story beats we got in the first place.
Anyway, that's my piece on the villians, why they chose the ones they did, and why they were tech based instead of their other origins, and what ones they could mess with in Season 2 maybe.
Thanks if you read this whole thing, you're a real one for hearing me out.

what's the most popular jimmy ship?
“Most popular” is a bit of a subjective phrase, however by pretty much all accounts I feel confident in saying that it’s Jimmy x Timmy.
Jimmy Valmer x Timmy Burch
at 127 responses
61 people think it’s popular
44.09% of people ship it
13 people consider it an OTP of theirs
After that, it’s safe to say Jimmy x Leslie is #2 with 23 people believing it to be popular, 33.07% of people shipping it, and 4 people considering it to be an OTP of theirs. Third place is a little trickier, but I will say it’s a sort of tie between Kyle x Jimmy, Clyde x Jimmy, and Jimmy x Nathan (tie as in, depending on what stat you consider most important for “popular”, that changes which is #3).

Shot
18+ Minors DNI!!!
Full Masterlist Legend Masterlist
Pairing: Reggie Kray x Fem!reader
Summary: You get shot in a brawl in a pub and Reggie finds you…
Warnings:blood,guns,shot,readers injured,readers shot,shooting,swearing,bad language,murder,fighting,brawl!!! (Please tell me if I missed any!!!)
Jimmys POV-
In the diamond Pub
"I was looking for you, you better pay me back" Robert Nicholson said as he grabbed Rons arm aggressively.
"Oi! Don't touch my brother!" I said quite loud ish to him and he looked at me with a smug smile.
"What are you gonna do about it puffter?" He said to me and I lost it.
I punched him in the face making his nose bleed profusely it was definitely broken. There were gasps in the club.
"Let's go Ron" I said and Ron nodded before following me out the club.
———
Y/ns POV-
I had such a long day, it was just a shit day y'know.
I went to pay for a bag of sweets and I dropped my money and held up the cue and the guy rolled his eyes at me.
And then when I left to go to the carpenters arm bar, I was shoved in the shoulder by Leslie who was angry and he muttered obscenities after pushing me.
And dotty told me she was busy and couldn't go to the bar with me so instead of going to the carpenters I left it and I went to the diamond pub.
I hadn't seen Reggie or Ronnie all day but I didn't care I just wanted to relax.
I sat down at a stool by the bar and i drank my drink peacefully.
Until.
Two men began arguing and I could tell it was going to get violent so I went to get up and leave.
But as I was heading to the door one of the men pulled out a gun and went to shoot the guy but he missed and he shot me in the leg.
I hissed and I fell to the ground.
More people left the bar but they left me bleeding.
The guy with the gun looked at me and I could tell he noticed my familiar face but he couldn't pin point it.
The front door opened and it was my uncle George.
"Y/n?" He said worriedly when he saw my shot leg and my blood stained dress.
George looked at the two men and then he went mad.
He punched them both till they were bloody and bruised.
———
Reggies POV-
Me and Ron had been sorting out business with Leslie but Ron pissed him off and he threw a fit and left the pub.
So me and Ron had a few drinks and then left to go to another club.
And on the way we saw George Nash, y/n’s uncle.
"You alright George?" I asked him and he nodded.
He was looking through the diamond pub door window.
"What y’a doin mate'?" I asked him chuckling a bit as I lit a fag.
"He's feeling a bit pervy arent y'a George?" Ron laughed but George didn't.
He looked worried and then there was a gun shot from the pub.
George ran in and knelt down next to a brunette curly haired girl who was bleeding.
"Y/n?" George said and the girl nodded.
I went pale.
It was Y/n.
My Y/n.
Shit.
I put out my fag and then I slammed open the door to be met with george punching two men to near death.
I saw Y/n, she was shot in the leg and bleeding out but she wasn't crying at all.
"C'mere your alright, your alright" I said as I put pressure on her leg.
"Can you walk?" I asked her and she thought for a second and began to try and stand up and she succeeded but then once she went to step and then she fell but luckily I was there and I caught her before she hit the ground I sat her back down on the ground.
"Ron bring the car round" I said and Ron nodded as he did as I said.
Two random men came over and tried to help her and I went mad.
"Don't fucking touch her!" I said and ripped their hands off her.
"Right now fuck off!" I yelled at them and they sheepishly ran off.
"Sorry dove" I said softly as I went out my hands back to her leg and I took my tie off and wrapped it around her wound.
"George?" She said weakly and George walked over to us he was splattered in blood but it wasn't his.
"You alright?" He asked her and she nodded.
"Please don't get in trouble" she said and he nodded.
"I won't" he said and I interrupted.
"Want me to get my men to clear this all up?" I asked him and he nodded.
"If that's all right with you reg" George said and I nodded.
"Mhm, Y/n can you lean on to me please" I asked her as I tried to pick her up without hurting her leg.
She leaned onto me resting her chin on my shoulder and since she was light and small it was easy to pick her up.
I held her leg with my arm and my other resting on her ass to hold her up.
"George d y'a mind opening the door?" I said and George opened the bar door and the car door.
I gently sat Y/n in the car.
"Is this all right?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Thank you Reggie" she said and I smiled I loved when she called me Reggie.
"It's all right dove, I'll just be a minute"  i said and gently shut the car door.
"Are you comin with?" I asked George and he shook his head.
"No I've gotta go, business, call me when she's alright" he said and I nodded before getting in the back of the car next to Y/n.
"Ron can you-" I was cut off by Ron.
"Hospital yep" he said and I nodded.
I held my hand on Y/n’s leg putting pressure on the wound to help it and she later relaxed once the pain turned into somewhat less pain.
Once we got to the hospital and she was helped.
I was confused.
Why was she at the diamond pub.
She was alone there and she i hate it there.
"You alright now dove?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Yeah, just stings a bit" she said softly.
"That's good then" I said whilst sitting in the chair next to her bed.
"Dove?" I said and she looked at me.
"Yeah?" She said.
"Why was you at the diamond pub alone?" I asked her and she paused.
"I know, it was a bad idea. I just I've had such a shit day Reggie. Leslie was rude and I embarrassed myself in the sweet shop and then my heels hurt my feet all day today so now I have blisters, Oh! And that man shot me!" she ranted to me.
"Anyway, by the time it was about 8 o'clock, dotty cancelled and I was so tired and then I saw the diamond pub and I didn't care I just wanted a drink so I went in" she said and I gave her confused face.
"Why didn't you come to me or ron" I asked her and she shrugged.
"You was busy" she said and I rolled my eyes.
"I don't care, I'm never too busy for you" I said and she smiled.
"Thank you for helping me reggie" she said and I shook my head.
"don't thank me Doll" I said and she rolled her eyes playfully.
"Can you join me?" She asked me and patted the side of the hospital bed.
I smiled and nodded before joining her and I gently rubbed circles on her upper thigh whilst she fell asleep.
"Dove?" I said and she hummed.
"I still can't believe you didn't cry after getting shot" I said and she giggled.
"I knew you was one tough cookie, but I didn't know you was that tough of one" I said and she smiled.
"I've just got a high pain tolerance" she said and I chuckled.
"No shit" I said and she giggled again before relaxing again and actually falling asleep again.
I gave her a kiss on the forehead before I fell asleep with her.

Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers

Episode 3 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 4 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 5 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 6 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 7 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here and here
Episode 9 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 10 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Apologies for the late posts, A LOT happened like Arleen Sorkin's passing and Kamen Rider Geats ending. So I needed to take a break, but I am back. SPOILERS if you havent seen episode 8 obviously.
Tumblr media
We start things off with the captured villains letting out of their prison. We got Silver Banshee, Roundhouse, Heatwave, Livewire, and then eventually we seen Ivo/Parasite and Mist who luckily escaped and is trying to get his friend and sister back. I talked more about in their respective episodes so if you want to read up more about them click on their names.
Tumblr media
Task Force X/Suicide Squad is known for exploding the heads of their prisoners teammates if they fuck up a mission (you might have seen it in the live action movies, animated movies, or even read the comics) and MAwS solution to not have it be so gory is to use shock collars.
Tumblr media
Cut to Clark who developed super hearing and has not slept for a few days and is on caffeine so he can help the people of Metropolis. The idea of Superman 24/7 has been thrown around in the comics for a while usually saying no Clark deserves a break. He needs to be Clark and not Superman when he can get the chance. If you want to check out the comics that does it I recommend reading Superman #296 to 299 (1979), Who Took the Super out of Superman by writers,Cary Bates, Elliot S. Maggins, penciler, Curt Swan, inker, Bob Oskner, colorist, Carl Gafford, and letterer Ben Oda.
Tumblr media
We see in the hologram projector/data sphere thing that Lois took from the League of Lois Lane's displaying Overman wrecking the city. I talked more about him here
Tumblr media
We then see Perry asking Lois to help out with Vicki Vale who is asked to be a guest writer on the Daily Planet, we later see in the ep that she's got ulterior motives for this. I talked a bit about her here. In the comics Vicki is usually a journalist for the Gotham Gazette and is sometimes in a relationship with Bruce Wayne. Her comic counterpart is usually very ethical when it comes to journalism much like Lois Lane, but here in MAwS, she's very conniving. Never meet your heroes sometimes I guess, huh MAwS Lois?
Tumblr media
Lois talks about the things Vicki wrote for the Gazette and name drops Queen Industries. If you know your DC universe, that is the last name of Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow.
Tumblr media
Oliver Queen and Roy Harper aka Speedy, make their first appearance in More Fun Comics #73 (1941) co-created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp who did the panel here. Robin Hood was an obvious inspiration for Oliver in terms of design but also his ethics in a sense. Despite the wealth, Oliver would be left wing and fight for the people arguably more so than Bruce Wayne. You can see in the panel that Oliver doesn't have his signature goatee you'll see that happen later when Neal Adams pencils Ollie in the Brave and the Bold #85 (1969)
Tumblr media
who also redesigned Ollies costume too. Check out Green Lantern/Green Arrow series to see Oliver's liberal stances on what was going on in the world in the early 1980s. Nowadays, Oliver's been redesigned to to wear a hood instead of the Robin Hood cap, but he's still the left wing hero that we adore
Tumblr media
Fantastic cover to the 80 years of Green Arrow hardcover book by Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair.
Tumblr media
The Falcones get a mention as one of the stories Vicki Vale wrote about. The Falcones make their first appearance in Batman #405 (1987) created by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli in the Batman Year One storyline.
Tumblr media
The man with the pipe in the second panel, by Frank Miller, David Mazzucchelli, Richmond Lewis, and Todd Klein, is the head of the head of the Falcones, Gotham's biggest mob family, Carmine "the Roman" Falcone. He and his family gets expanded explored in Batman: The Long Halloween. Both it and Batman Year One are fantastic reads, highly recommended.
Tumblr media
The Gotham Gazette, and in a roundabout way, Gotham, gets a name drop from Perry White. The paper make its first appearance in Batman #4 (1940) and Vicki Vale is employed by them as the photojournalist.
Tumblr media
Perry asks Lois and Jimmy to help Vicki out with a story about smearing Superman and they decide to interview people. First up is Captain Immonen who Clark saved in episode 3. The captain's last name is a reference to...
Tumblr media
comic book artist, Stuart Immonen. He's worked on various Superman-related titles like Action Comics or the Adventures of Superman.
Tumblr media
Probably the Superman book I enjoyed his work in, and highly recommend checking out for everyone who reads this is, Superman: Secret Identity (cover art here by Stuart Immonen) with writer Kurt Busiek about a teen who happens to be named Clark Kent in his world where there are no superheroes, only in the comic books, but somehow slowly develops powers on his own. Very cool non-canon story that is a fresh take on the Superman mythology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next interviewee I have to assume based on the credits at the end of the episode is, Mrs. Quietly who is a reference to...
Tumblr media
comic book artist, Frank Quitely. You may know his name on the New X-Men with Grant Morrison, but in terms of Superman, he was the penciler for All-Star Superman (cover by Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant)...
Tumblr media
the comic series that got an animated movie adaptation and will be the inspiration for the upcoming Superman: Legacy live action movie. The book has Superman dying thanks to Luthor and has Clark live out his final days saving the world and the future in a sense one last time. It's a great read! And speaking of Grant Morrison...
Tumblr media
Grant Morrison got their reference through the name of a pawn shop in Metropolis.
Tumblr media
Grant Morrison, fantastic writer, has worked on a lot of comics. As mentioned before Morrison worked with Frank Quitely on New X-Men but in terms of Superman, is best known for writing All-Star Superman with Quitely. Both have also worked on Batman and Robin together and equally great series if you want to see Dick Grayson as Batman try to wrangle in Damian Wayne as Robin.
Tumblr media
We see Lex Luthor Alex here as the final interviewee who says Superman is a menace for ruining his job and destroyed the building he worked in. Will he lose his hair and go into business? I don't know, but when Alex gets a confirmed last name, most likely Luthor, I'll take more about him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the episode we seen screen names, LoriLemaris59 and Bibbo87 streaming videos of Superman getting his but handed to him by Task Force X. Both names are references to characters in the Superman comics.
Tumblr media
Lori Lemaris first appeared in Superman #129 (1959) by Bill Finger, Wayne Boring, and Stan Kaye. She and Clark met in college where she posed as a wheelchair-using student and both took interest in each other, however when they're out on dates, Lori would cut the date short because of her mermaid nature. Clark tried to propose to her, but she turned him down because both are from two different worlds and it wouldn't work out. She also knew Clark was Superman because her people could read minds but she's totally cool with keeping it a secret for him. Jimmy, in MAwS, mentioned mermaids, but I did not want to point it out until we get a Lori Lemaris reference in and lo and behold it came true! The other name is a reference to Bibbo Bibbowski one of the supporting cast for Superman.
Tumblr media
Bibbo Bibbowski makes his first appearance in the Adventures of Superman #428 (1987) by Marv Wolfman, Jerry Ordway, Tom Ziuko, and John Costanza. Superman arrives at the Ace O' Club's bar asking for information on Perry White's son, Jerry who was kidnapped. Bibbo, thinking Superman is just some guy in a costume punches Superman, gets his hand busted, and finds a new respect for him.

As mentioned before Task Force X is out to capture Superman as he and Mist try to save his sister and friend, but it turns out they are more than willing get revenge on Superman for their freedom. Even though in this universe they are Task Force X, a majority of the team is made up of Superman villains so in a sense you can make an argument that this is a Superman Revenge Squad. The first use of the team name is from the silver age, in Superman #94 (1961) where the squad was a group of aliens. The Superman villains teaming up together to get revenge on Superman first appeared in the Adventures of Superman #543 (1997). Parasite (Rudy Jones), who was part of that team, shares names with a Superman villain in MAwS here.

I think someone on the MAwS team is a fan of the X-Men arcade game cuz Livewire flies the same way Magneto does in that game.

Some notes: Hey look at me watching films for a change! A slightly disorganised but mostly horror themed month ...mostly.
Frankenstein: The True Story* is a rediscovered fave, quite a nostalgic viewing really, and no doubt the source of my predilection for chokers. An attempt to make a "classy" version of the Frankenstein story but just as cheesy as the cheesiest Hammer movies in places - which of course led me to deciding to watch all the Hammer Frankensteins. A mixed bag to be sure but enjoyable on the whole.
Really enjoyed Oz Perkins’ three supernatural/horror movies. Gretel & Hansel was a bit “style over substance” but still I liked it! Blueblood was a peculiar movie! Don’t know really what to make of it but I’d buy a restored blu if someone like Indicator or BFI Flipside put it out!
Finished off with that old fave Phantom of the Paradise, though I don’t know what the rest of the family thought of it (for Halloween I’m always charged with finding something to watch that’s horror themed but not too scary or gory, PotP seemed a good choice)!
*It’s not a Top Eleven I just listed the two parts of Frankenstein: The True Story seperately for my qwn records because that’s how I watched it.
