I wish more people talked about Shane in relation to Jas. What’s their story before The Valley, what happened to her parents that gave Shane custody of her?

I think they were friends, a little family he had. That he was there when Jas was born and he was probably the best man at their wedding.

I think they died, and Shane was the only one they trusted.

I think Shane moved in with Marnie because of Jas, that he wanted her to have structure he couldn’t provide and he refused to lose her.

I think he was always prone to depression and alcoholism, but he let it get out of control once he wasn’t busy keeping Jas alive anymore.

I think he was grieving.

Jas should always be part of Shane’s story.

I want to know the Shane lore so bad. Jas calls him Uncle Shane, but Marnie only describes him as Jas' godfather. Did Shane have siblings who fucking died?? Is he Jas' legal guardian or is Marnie? If Shane has custody of Jas, why does she not move in if you marry him? What is the STORY??
