I don't usually do shit like this, but my love of Shezow compelled it. Shezow wasn't a "sissy/crossdressing" kink thing. Obie Scott Wade has said before, the reason he made Shezow was because he grew up watching Shazam and wondered what would happen if Billy accidentally said "Shezam" and if it would turn him into a female superhero instead. I don't know why there are so many odd rumours about Shezow when he's been so open about it
Yeah I couldn’t find anything to support that ask either. I prefer to not view all my childhood show creators as bad people. Maybe I didn’t look hard enough, and if anyone has evidence to support these rumors I’ll look into them.
I think the rumors come from the over fetishization of media, everything has to have an ulterior motive, they just can’t be whimsical or innocent. People are also a bit jaded when it comes to the creators of childhood media these days, with so many being not good people.
Also couldn’t find anything to support that ask saying SheZow was supposed to be a trucker?? The pilot was similar to the show and it makes much more sense for a show marketed to teenagers to be about a teenager. Children’s shows are almost always about children so they can relate to the main character, I probably wouldn’t have loved SheZow as a kid if it was just some dude.

Amity Parkers moving to Gotham for college. Sam and Paulina pooling their trust funds together to buy an abandoned hotel and fitting it as apartments for everybody. They all train together in the courtyard to keep their skills up and just because it's fun. Suddenly an influx of super competent self-trained (or maybe ghost-trained) young adults.
Everybody having their little niches and suddenly they all have more free time that's not being taken up by ghost attacks so many of them started different YouTube channels with info they found out from the ghostly residents of Amity. Star and Paulina running a history of beauty channel going over makeup, hair styles and fashion, special guest Sam when going over alt fashions. Dash and Kwan running one on the history of sports. Wes and Mikey running a conspiracy theory podcast. Valerie running a martial arts channel. Danny just info-dumping about space and spacecraft in videos that range from 45 minutes to four hours. Tucker running a how-to channel for fixing tech and coding. Sam running a combination true crime and witchy channel. The Trio running a Let's Play channel.
Ghostly things happening in all of the videos and everybody guesting on everybody else's channels leads to everybody thinking it's all an elaborate ARG. Danny just floating through the walls half-asleep with a glowing shaker bottle in the background. Some of them when they're in the middle of a rant seem to forget to take a breath or their eyes or freckles start glowing. On a livestream Paulina snaps at somebody off screen and her eyes are suddenly glowing green. Danielle pops in during a charity livestream that the Trio are running and calls Danny-Daddy, Sam-Mom, and Tucker-Dad and is just floating on the back of the couch. Danny doing a stream to watch a rocket take off and suddenly a robe and crown flash and he disappears in a flash of green and the stream is just dead space until the rocket's about to take off and Danny comes running in and jumps over the back of his chair to watch it and cheer.

I’m feral for the concept of
“I can be anyone you want” and the answer being “I want you.”
Know what I want to see?
I want Logan and Morph to meet in a bedroom. Very clearly preparing to have sex. And they kiss. And when Logan leans back...
He's looking at Jean.
And Logan frowns because, "why are you Jean?"
"I thought you might prefer this look."
"I don't. Change."
Morph changes. Into Storm.
"No."
Emma.
"No."
Scott.
"No."
"Well who do you want?"
Logan cups Morph's face and tells them, "You." He waits for Morph to change back before kissing them again and, since it's a cartoon, we pan away as they begin to undress.

Morph’s lanky ass in the back drinking their drink...
*elevator music*
Tumblr media
This made me chuckle in the middle of quite an intense episode. Let it be known that X-Men '97 does humour as well as it does drama.

Maybe they were just bros, but TAS Wolverine would have burned the world to keep Morph safe.

Guy’s mom would fight a transphobe, I know it.
I feel like she was a little too excited to find out about Guy, she definitely thought she was getting a daughter for a minute there.

sorry I saw you liked my one post and then I checked out your blog. Butch Hartman has hated dp fanfic for years I remember being like ~7 and reading community posts of fans talking about it. Basically he was mostly upset with the vlad x Danny content but not because adult x minor. Because it was a gay ship he hated gay fanfic of his characters because butch is a born again Christian. It’s part of why he insists the ghost one inhabitants aren’t actually ghosts.
Yeah I figured he hated the landscape, especially the gay stuff considering his legacy. I hope because of that he never read any, I can’t imagine the mortification of the creator of a show reading and hating on your work.

Also probably deleted these days the sad reason shezow doesn’t tackle gender stuff in it’s run time, not in a meaningful way is because it’s just sfw sissy / crossdressing fetish stuff from the artist. You can find the Disney pilot on YouTube and you can find the original concept where the shezow user was like a trucker or something. The creator prior to it releasing as we know and love it used to hype it up on nsfw crossdressing forums. Like there’s so much history for both of these fandoms apparently lost :pensive:
I admit I did not know that about the show, that sucks. It’s also not surprising to me they didn’t delve more into the complicated issues instead of just ‘girl power’ because it was made in 2012 and probably wasn’t a labor or love, just a silly premise.
I liked the show as my first introduction to crossdressing and I’ve come to appreciate it despite its many, many flaws (Shephat anyone?) but it definitely didn’t exactly break barriers. Despite it I’m a boy who likes dresses now and I think it’s funny to rewatch lol

Oh I know he’d hate it. We like to make Danny lgbt, poly with Sam and Tucker, the most feral teen that will fight God if you let him, and/or cross him over with Batman to get adopted or date a bat.
I wonder his thoughts on the vivisection aus and angst, I’m sure he’d hate it and I’d rather die than have him read something I wrote, but I wonder.
I wonder what Butch Hartman would think of the Danny Phantom fanfiction community, genuinely.

Agree with this so much. SheZow had so much potential in playing with gender roles and identity.
Shezow things I think would’ve been neat:
An Episode deeper exploring Kelly’s envy towards Guy being the one to get the ring. And her eventual acceptance.
Small hintings in ongoing episodes of Guy being unsure of wether he truly is right or deserving of the ring.
Guy starting out as an example of toxic masculinity but (not too slowly) becoming more accepting and open minded, halfway through the first season he is now a total chad.
Maz moments that just want to make you protect him. Make the dude a bit more of a cinnamon roll, he deserves it.
More episodes were the conflict is derived from the public still thinking this Shezow (Guy) is still Shezow (Agnus)
Shezow facing off an antagonist who very clearly has fragile masculinity and teaching the dude to be more confident and comfortable.
A one-off episode solely on Dudepow’s universe (kinda like the Fiona and Cake episodes in Adventure Time)

I love how She-Zow becomes like two feet shorter and nobody acknowledges it. A grown woman is suddenly a teenager and everyone’s like “yeah, that checks”
