Having thoughts about being Van’s roommate in college and the two of you being pretty close so all she does is platonically talk you up to the girls. One night when Van thought you were gonna be out, she ended up bringing them all back to your apartment for a pregame or something. And when they walked through the door you’re j in some nice ass clothes, sitting on the couch playing video games w your friend. And one or all of the girls (Shauna, Jackie or Lottie) is immediately enamored w you.
They come through the door laughing and all eyes immediately land on you and your friend on the couch. “Oh hey y/n, I’m sorry I thought you’d have left by now.” “No worries, man, me and Sam were gonna leave in a bit after we played one match.” You get up from the couch, controller in one hand as you extend the other to shake theirs “Hey it’s nice to finally meet you guys, Van’s told me all about you girls.” And all of them are just staring slack jawed. Van suggests you guys should just wait and all go to the party together, where they spend the entirety of the pregame trying to flirt with you, and the whole party desperately attempting to get with you.
Lottie/Jackie/Shauna sloshed while trying to be subtly flirting with you, when in reality it’s A. Very obvious, B. EXTREMELY sloppy and C. Useless cause you’re already into them, and you’re just waiting until they’re sober enough to remember you asking them on a date.
van accidentally acting like those comment sections where they're like "omg i remember when you saved my cat/nephew/5th cousin from a fire!". she's so totally genuine about it though lmao
jackieshaunalot x reader??? im so in bro. thinking about jackie and lottie trying to hype you up while your playing your game and they have no fucking idea what they're talking about. they're watching you to see when they should get excited for you. jackie def has a "ye- i mean noooooo" moment.
jackie and shauna joined forces to compete against lottie when jackie convinced shauna it would give them 50/50 odds of winning instead of 33% (and they say jackie cant do math). they end up girlfailuring their way into a trio after realizing they'd make it 100% odds. (jackie felt threatened by lotties pink skirt)
jackie thought she was being soooo subtle but shes like falling over herself drunk as she's feeling up your arms and shit at the party. all flirty like "Oh, hehe was that yourrrrr drink?" as she's sipping from your cup and like twirling her hair around her finger. shauna and lottie do not do subtle sober so they didn't bother to try when drunk. they're all over you all night fr.
van's watching from the sidelines like 🤔. she does not understand how this happened

realizing I never talked on here about my mob boss au where everyone thinks Anti is running a gang but then it turns out JJ is the boss and Anti's his bodyguard/translator/guy who pretends to be in charge so he's the target instead of JJ. Marv is an informant, Henrik's their off-the-books medic, and Chase is the weapons expert for arms-dealing. Jackie is also a bodyguard for JJ, but he and Anti HATE EACH OTHER. they only get along because of their loyalty to JJ, who thinks it's funny to watch them restrain themselves from physically fighting about four times a day.
also, everybody calls JJ 'Little Brother,' including his enemies. if I wrote something about it, it would be about Dark's gang encroaching on JJ's territory for the first time, and the fallout when they realize who the real Little Brother is and abduct him... forcing Jackie and Anti to work together and protect each other NOOOOOO

“ Ben if you don’t shut the fuck up-”
“ I found EJ’s old camera.”
“ Nevermind, continue talking.”
Ben wedged himself between Jeff and Liu on the couch, camera firmly in his grip.
“...Should we look through it?” Liu asks.
“ Of course we should look through it.” Jeff scoffs, attempting to grab the device from Ben.
“ Hey!” Ben yells, holding the camera away from Jeff, “ Your fat ass will break it, I should be the one to hold the camera.”
“ ‘Fucks sake.” Liu sighed, grabbing the camera from Ben. “ I’ll be the one to look through it.”
Liu turned the camera on, going to the camera roll.
“ Who’s that?” Jeff asked, grabbing the camera from Liu.
“ How would I know?”
“ They’re kinda hot.”
“ Well play the video idiot.”
Jeff hit the small ‘play’ button, and the group waited in anticipation.
“ How the hell does this thing work? “
A young adult held the camera away at arm’s length.
“ Hey Greg, do you think Jack would be mad that I took his camera? “
They called out to someone off screen.
“ Jack had friends? ” Ben questioned.
“ Shut up and watch.” Jeff stated, poking him in the ribs.
“ I don’t know Y/n...maybe? “
“ Welp, he can always delete the video later. Anyways hello future Jack, it is I, your best friend in the entire world.”
“ HEY!”
“ Oh, and Greg’s here.”
“ Hey Y/n, Greg, have you seen my camer-”
The camera moved to show pre - sacrificed Jack, dressed in a NASA hoodie and grey sweatpants.
“ Holy shit he’s a nerd!” Jeff exclaimed.
“ I swear Y/n give me my camera back-”
“ Ack Jack no! Give it back!”
The camera was jostled between the two’s grip.
“ Noooooo.”
Jack got the camera back at last.
“ You two are so annoying sometimes.” He said with a chuckle, the video ending.
“ Play the next one.” Ben demanded.
“ Alright alright I will.” Jeff said, playing the next video.
“ Hi again, it’s me.” Y/n said from behind the camera.
“ Look future Jack, I know you said specifically for me to not take your camera again, but look at what I found!” The camera shuffled around as Y/n crouched down, focusing the camera on the ground.
“ Frogs! You always said they were one of your favourite things to photograph!”
The camera turned to face Y/n, who was grinning ear to ear. The camera flipped back to the frogs.
“ I named them and everything! The one to the left is Tobias, the one in the middle is Gregory, and the small one on the right is Jack.”
The video cut off there.
Without any words needed, Jeff started the next video.
“ Y/n, give me my camera back!”
The camera was focused on Jack.
“ No!”
“ It’s my camera, get your own!”
“ It’s not the sameeee.”
“ You’re a child.”
“ Ouch.”
“ Give me the damn camera!”
“ Oh you so wanna kiss me right now!”
“ I-”
Jack’s face went red.
“ Jack was simping!?” Ben hollered, laughing.
“ Just- Just give it back when you’re done.”
“ Will do Jacky!”
The camera turned to face Y/n.
“ He soooo loves me.”
“ So what if I do?” Jack’s voice came from the background.
The video ended.
“ Holy shit...did EJ-?”
“ HAVE A PARTNER???”
“ PLAY THE NEXT VIDEO JEFF.”
“ FINE.”
“ Jack, you are so lucky you have me as a friend to document this.” Greg’s voice came from behind the camera.
“ This ladies and gentlemen, this is the exact moment that my two best friends will become a couple, after a year of flirting the day has finally come.” Greg narrated.
The camera was zoomed in on Jack and Y/n, who seemed to be having a conversation. Jack had flowers hiding behind his back. He slowly revealed them, face blushing as he spoke words the camera couldn’t pick up. Y/n’s eyes lit up as a smile spread on their face. They nodded their head enthusiastically as they took the flowers from the boy, who now had his own bashful smile on his lips.
“ I think it was successful! Go Jack Go!” Greg cheered. Y/n whipped their head to face the camera, they laughed as they pointed to it, giving Jack a playful punch in the shoulder. They then gave him a peck on the cheek before the video was interrupted.
“ What the fuck do you think you’re doing.” A voice came from the hallway. The three boys turned their heads to find Jack standing behind them.
“ Well, you see...”
“ It was all Ben’s fault, he went snooping through your room!”
“ Don’t try to fully blame this on me Jeff!”
Jack snatched the camera away from Jeff.
“ I don’t care who it was that was snooping through my room, if any of you go through my stuff again I’ll kill you.”
“ Oh come on EJ, it’s just a camera-”
“ Do. You. Understand. Me?”
“ What, is this about that Y/n person?-”
“ Don’t mention their name around me again, or so help me god.”
“ Yeesh, we get it...”
“ Good.”
And with that, Jack walked out of the room, camera still in his grasp.
“ I wonder what happened to Y/n...”

OK who wants to hear my favorite folk music fact? Too bad you’re getting it anyway: ‘Which Side Are You On,’ the U.S.’s ubiquitous union anthem, shares melodic features with (and may be a direct variation on) a ballad called “Jackie Munro” which is about a ‘girl’ who ‘dresses up’ as a man, follows his boyfriend into the middle of the Thirty Years’ War, gets himself promoted to colonel, finds his boyfriend swooning on the battlefield and, figuring that now’s as good a time as any, collars a chaplain and demands that he marry them. And when the chaplain’s like ‘noooooo two men can’t get married it’s against the law’ Jackie threatens to cut his head off. And then he and his much-less-intimidating bf get married and apparently go right back to soldiering. There are variations where Jackie gives up his life as a gay blade at the end of the ballad but those are lame and I ignore them; A.L. Lloyd has the right idea.
Anyway thanks Florence Reece for inadvertently reminding us all that labor rights are gay and trans rights, and that sometimes the best answer to bigots is a broadsword.
