hello!! sorry ive been so inactive and I have got a number of req that I am trying to work through - I am sorry, please be as patient as you can with me. general life shit and all hasn't been ideal. I am aware I reaaallly need to update my master list and will get round to it when I can I promise ;)

also have lots of asks abt the t + z situation but all I have to say is im so very happy for them and hope people respect their privacy ;)

There were some things that Harry, even after being friends for years, kept close to his chest. The one that you always tried to catch him out on was his singing. For some unknown reason, he was super self conscious of it. Every time he was nonchalantly humming along to himself, all it took was for you to make a single sound, and he’d immediately lock his mouth shut. From those fleeting moments, you had thought he didn’t even sound half bad, hence where your frustrations drew.

Because whilst you, who sounded like a cat being tortured, would scream your lungs out - Harry, who wasn’t even that bad, refused to make a fool out of himself.

It was exactly what had happened this evening when you had let yourself into Tom’s house otherwise unannounced. It’d been years since you’d been given a spare key by Harry - when they were both away, you often ‘house-sat’ for Tom; plus, you spent most evenings there too because that was where your best mate was.

Tom had messaged on the group chat to say he would be out for the evening, and Haz was around his girlfriends tonight, meaning on arrival, you’d known it’d just be you and Harry. So once you heard the quiet tune of a song, that you couldn’t quite place yet, safe to say you were on stealth mode. Sliding your shoes off and wincing as the floorboards creaked a little, you slowly crept through the house to find your frizzy-haired friend.

Sure enough, as you made your way through the kitchen, you found him stood over the hob, stirring round a wooden spoon of a saucepan - presumably filled with pasta he’d promised to have ready for you. Pouting as you leaned on the doorframe and crossed your arms, marvelling at him. He was dressed just in grey joggers and his favourite pink hoodie, arms rolled up to his elbow as the poor boy slaved away at the stove.

You stayed silent, to what you now recognised as billy joel, only unable to stifle a giggle when he reached a particularly high note. Like a rabbit caught in headlights, he jumped around and yelled, eyes fiery and pointed at you.

“OH fuck off Y/n!!”

“Billy Joel, an old school choice.” You smirked, now walking into the room to greet him properly.

“How long have you been stalking on me?”

“It’s not stalking if the stalkee gave me the key.”

“I don’t think that’s admissible in court.” He deadpanned back, pouting for a couple more seconds before finally shooting you a wide grin. The boy held his arms out, welcoming you into a proper greeting hug. Happily reciprocating, you inhaled deeply with your face pressed into the crook of his shoulder.

“How was work?” He murmured, already guessing the answer correctly.

“Shit. Exhausting. Hell, you want any more adjectives?” Harry just snorted back as you leaned away from his warmth.

“Nah rule of three is quite enough. Did you never pay attention in GCSE english?”

“Fuck off you can’t even spell GCSE.”

That was always how your friendship had been; it had always been a piss-taking battle. You simply were one of the boys - or at least that’s what you thought. Said boys though (meaning Sam, Tom, Harrison, Tuwaine and even Paddy) disagreed. You didn’t know, or didn’t believe, that Harry did NOT treat you like one of the boys. He cared about you differently, too. Tom thought it didn’t stop there, that Harry did in fact love you.

And yes, you might’ve admitted to Harrison on one very, very drunken night that you had occasionally thought of Harry as something more than your sarky friend. He had been since sworn to silence, though Haz had in fact, told Tom - who only replied with an ‘i told you so’.

Even though everyone else saw your relationship as complicated, to you and Harry it was just simple. You were just the best of friends.

And that’s how the evening went. The two of you were just messing around as usual; after eating the tomatoey pasta creation Harry had tried, you both made a right mess of the washing up - water ending up coating the floor and maybe one of the walls too (Tom would never know). And just like usual, it ended with you sprawled out on one sofa, Harry mirroring you on the adjacent one.

It was love island season, which meant every night at 9 pm there was only one place on earth either of you would be. On your respective sofas, watching the most trashy tv in the world.

Tonight though, no matter how excited you were for the next instalment of who-likes-who, your day of work caught up with you. Not that you noticed, but you’d pretty much passed out as soon as the opening scenes started. There were only two minutes of silence before Harry registered something was up - typically, he was trying to make you shut up so he could actually hear the TV. To investigate, he jumped off the sofa and leaned over the couch, the sight making him pout.

He knew work had been super stressful recently; and he also knew that your insomnia had been coming back with a vengeance. So instead of treating you like ‘one of the boys’ and throwing things until you woke up - Harry used a different approach. He draped the blanket that hung off the side of the sofa over you, biting back a slight smile as you huffed in appreciation for the soft quilt. Then Harry left you alone, knowing you could do with every little bit of rest you could get.

That was all good until it reached the third set of adverts when Harry heard you huff and move about on the sofa. And then again and again. Then again with what sounded like a bit of whimper too.

Brows furrowed, he paused the TV and slowly got up, rounding the sofa to see you somewhat matching his expression. Your face was contorted in one of distress, and you kept thrashing your head from side to side of the pillow. It didn’t take a genius to work out; this was your nightmares rearing their ugly heads.

Harry just wanted to stop this for you. Although the two of you were never particularly ‘mushy’ or vulnerable with each other - he knew just how much you were suffering recently. So without much thought into it, Harry knelt down to sit on the floor, side leaning up against the sofa as he looked towards you. Trying to hush you, he ran his hand over your forehead and over the top of your hair, though it seemed to take little effect. And then, again entirely without hesitation, Harry started to softly sing.

It’s a little bit funny

This feeling inside

I’m not one of those who can easily hide

Why Elton John was the first that came to mind was a mystery to Harry - except maybe that the lyrics ran true a little.

And you can tell everybody

How wonderful life is while you’re in the world

You’d always loved old 70s music, you were the one that had properly got you into all that stuff - the beatles, billy joel, elton, even a bit of springsteen. He owed half his music taste to your Spotify playlists, even if he’d never admit it to your face.

So excuse me forgetting

But these things I do

You see I’ve forgotten, if they’re green or they’re blue

Anyway the thing is, what I really mean

Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen

With a final huff, you finally settled down, Harry swore he could see all the discomfort literally melting away from your face. It took a minute but your breath evened out, mumbling something incomprehensible as you curled up toward him on the edge of the sofa.

This wasn't the first time he’d sang to you in your sleep - and he sort of hoped it wouldn't be the last either.

I'm a girl, Pisces, INFJ, I'm pretty much chill and friendly, I'm that person with whom you can talk to earnestly without feeling self-conscious bc I love domestic stuff (fluff 🙃), exchanging opinions on variety of topics is fun as long as both parties are respectful, I always supported the idea that different thoughts can coexist and that diversity matters, I'm a good listener but I'm also very confident in my beliefs so people often say that I'm insightful or intuitive, I'm patient and understanding, I like to joke and I hate stressful or serious situations, sometimes I can be blunt but that's just me being honest and I hate faking whatever bc it's not my style. However, I can be mean if the person deserved it, I use sarcasm or leave the person be bc I avoid fights, I'm a v peaceful individual. I'm a former gifted student, artsy person (I'm doing digital art), in free time I watch Netflix, read manga, go on walks, listen to music, do some writing and games, I also like metaphors and symbolisms in literary works and media. People say I'm pretty and smart but I'm also modest which is smtng me and McGee (Imao I love this nickname, Gumi as well) have in common. My wardrobe is also dark and I wear dark makeup, I like grunge. I'd bully Gojo for him. 😂

honestly, when you both first met he would’ve been a bit closed off like he is with everyone he first meets

but the fact that he finds you so easy to talk to is one of the things that brought you closer.

i feel like, for Megumi, being heard and understood is super important to him and the fact that you do that and want him to feel that way, is something he really appreciates from you

he really loves the fact that your blunt and not afraid to say whats on your mind, because he’s pretty much the same way. he doesn’t like things being sugarcoated, he tells it as it is 😤✊

and because of that i feel like your relationship would be very open. you wouldnt keep any secrets, and you feel like you could tell each other anything. and Megumi really appreciates that, because there’s not many people he’s really open with from what ive seen

i feel like he also would like domestic fluffy situations so for dates, it wouldnt be anything overly extravagant. maybe just chilling in his or your dorm, listening to music or playing video games. Maybe a nice walk out in the town and to a little cafe for a drink. I feel like nothing would really matter much, setting-wise, for dates. as long as you spend time together thats what matters most.

Oh my lord- if you offered to mess with gojo with him, or just say something back when gojo’s annoying him- Megumi would get down on one knee and whip out a ring faster than you could ever blink. Gojo gets on his fuckin NERVES so he think it would be fun to give him a taste of his own medicine every now and then (to spice it up, get itadori and nobara in on it too)

He would definitely love your artsy side tbh, if your working on something while you’re relaxing together with him, he would probably rest his head on your shoulder, silently observing and admiring what your doing.

He’s amazing at handling more serious situations bc he’s a pretty serious dude on the outside. when he notices that your uncomfortable or stressing over a situation like that, he would have no problem stepping in or helping you out, depending on the situation

he loves that you have a sense of humor though, your one of the only people that can genuinely make him laugh (and it kinda gives you an ego boost, rightfully so)

i feel like the way he would express his love and feelings to you is through acts of service and verbal affirmations. He finds you easy to talk to so expressing his love through words is easier for him when it comes to you. he isn’t sappy about it though, just a casual “I love you” or a “you look really nice today”

He loves to help you out with anything you need help with. you ask him for it? done and done no questions asked.

I feel like he would really care about your well being in general too. he would probably make sure you drank water everyday and that you eat and sleep good.

when he goes off for missions he likes to bring you back little gifts every so often.

he finds your sarcasm so funny dude you have no idea.

especially when you use it towards gojo or itadori, mans has to hold himself back or he’ll bust our laughing.

just like he loves your honesty, he also loves the fact that your not afraid to stand up for yourself if need be.

ok i need 2 do a little rant here because 🙄🙄🙄 basically this guy on discord started hitting me up a while ago (he started messaging me around last november) and i only recently “fell” for him after realizing tht we share music and movie tastes and he sounded super nice and stuff. i was tipsy one day and called him a soulmate which i highly regret now. later he basically told me he was into me and i reciprocated and we started talking more, even video chatting a few times, and the most recent time we video chatted i got pretty high and spilled my guts, telling him about some of my deepest thoughts (my yearning for love, ideas on marriage/sex, my loneliness, etc.). basically i made myself extremely vulnerable, and this was only about a week after he told me he’s into me... way too soon, huh? i was hella flirty to him that night in a voice call w our friends, telling everyone i’d date him and that i think he’s cute and shit. surprisingly he did not stop talking to me after this and ig i should mention that he has a really good memory and remembers things i say which is like literally a bare minimum thing but since no guy ive talked to before has made an effort to actually listen to me it felt surreal and beautiful. now at this point i am thinking “wow, he actually is into me” but i was so stupid bc this is just fucking DISCORD and it’s likely not serious to him. he’s probably hitting up other ppl and like that’s totally normal and cool and what i would do too if i were actually acquainted with normal relationships/intimacy etc. but i lost my fucking cool because this felt so new and refreshing to me, when it[s JUST DISCORD. holy shit, i am so embarrassed........

to add fuel to the fire every time i would try to talk to him normally i would just go off into absurd tangents and say actual dumb shit and i was getting suuuuper self-conscious even tho i know im a queen. i could not act normal, period. i did the most childish thing ever a couple nights ago and msgd him like “omggg sry idk how to talk to guys xD plz tell me if i am annoying” and he didn’t reply even tho he was online. i got so fucking embarrassed at this that i deleted my entire side of our chatlog which dates back to like 2019 and then he asked me what was wrong on snap, acknowledging the message i’d sent (which means he’d ignored it). this made me super depressed which led me to overshare to him about my depression and then i realized that now he probably thinks im some psycho crazy bitch. i even deleted discord and snap out of embarrassment *(but also mainly bc i was spending too much time on those things)

dudes like i fucking regret this so much. i should have never shared all those things with him which gave me a false sense of intimacy. i was obviously wayyy more into him than he is into me (though i thought otherwise since he’d been messaging me since last yr and i was always dismissive w my responses until just a couple wks ago). i know it;s literally not that serious sounding to anyone reading this but i genuinely felt like i’d met a soulmate. while i am annoyed at myself for being so naive and thinking this was something magical, i also realize tht i did nothing wrong and it’s normal to act stupid in front of ppl u like at first. if anything this has been a learning experience for me and now i will not give two shits about eboys who hit me up. tbf this guy was nice and wanted to make sure i was ok so i honestly have nothing against him but also when he did not reply to my cringey childish message mentioned earlier it made me feel really fucking terrible about myself so yeah

also i h8 when guys take more than 5 mins to respond to msgs and on snap i was opening every message almost instantly or like a few minutes later while he took up to 30 mins sometimes and it was annoying sigh.... another detail that made me realize i was more into him than he was into me. ANYWAYS SOMEONE PLEASE COMFORT ME I AM SO EMBARRASSED THAT IVE LET AN EBOY MAKE ME FEEL THIS WAY

you both see cupcakes and just dart to them

you smash a cupcake in his face, you and him both laughing your butts off

after you both get cleaned up you hear a slow couples dance song

you and prompto squeal in excitement and make a run to the dance floor

the lyrics make prompto cry a little and kiss you lovingly

you and prompto dance slowly and just in love

you feel safe and just made for this young man who you call yours

puts on his bravo attitude again but with a kind smile he tells you how beautiful you are

you end up being driven in his car the whole way he keeps telling you how gorgeous you are

when you guys go to the high school gladiolus grabs your hand

placing your tiny hand in his huge, rough one

he brings it to his lips and kisses it

“ready to have fun baby”

you smile and nod

you both go to the drinks and gladiolus brings out his alcohol

“GLADDY!!!!”

he explains he wants a lil kick

puts a bit in his juice and asks if you want

you shrug and say yes

its not a lot just very little

after that you tell gladioulus that iris helped you pick out the dress

this makes gladioulus more happy and he kisses your forehead

you both dance to the music like a couple of crazy people

shaking, twisting, just acting like two dorks

suddenly the slow couples song plays and you sit down knowing gladioulus hates those

“hello, what are we doing? y/n we should dance out there!”

you disagree and he picks you up bridal style with ease

he places you in the middle and wraps his arms around you to dance to the music

you guys dance to Bazzi - Beautiful feat. Camila

gladioulus tells you that what this song says he feels that way about you

he gives you kisses in the middle and sings the song to you quietly

just between the two of you

since gladiolus is so tall you take your shoes off and place your feet delicately on his

your head pressed against his chest

hearing his heart beat quicken at the contact you guys make

he chuckles and places a kiss on the top of your head

ignis was the quiet one and he attracted you the way he cared so much for the young prince

you shyly asked him and at first he kept saying excuses that is until he saw how sad you were

he brought your face to look at him and with a smile said yes

you were a simple gal and ignis was simple as well

you didn’t want nothing to extreme all you wanted was to feel pretty

you went by yourself to dress shopping

noctis was there trying on suits

he noticed you were alone and without your consent told you he was going to help you

WE’RE YOU IN THAT NEED OF HELP

noctis picked out a plain, simple dress

you had to say yes it was just perfection

you wear this dress:

it was light and feathery and it fit your body perfectly

ignis came and the minute he opened the door he was in love

you were not dressed up too much it was like you descended from the heavens

thats what he felt y’all!!!

ignis is never this bashful

ignis gently touches your hand and wraps it in his

leads you to the car he drives the young prince in

when you get in the car the backseat has a huge cake

ignis made a cake for prom

when you arrive ignis opens the car door for you like a gentleman

you help him with carrying the cake

after a few dances and drinks you pester ignis to let you try his cake

he is very nervous

he is legit SHAKING when cutting your peice

you tasted it and smile in satisfaction

with a mouth full of cake you say how good it is

ignis chuckles and kisses your mouth eating some of the cake

now your eyes are wide

“now it taste even better, sweeter i believe”

ignis is shy when it comes to dancing but he notices how much you want to do it with him and he just cant refuse

he tells you how much he wants to dance with you and you both go to the dance floor

1. im a music student! i mostly sing but i know the basics of several instruments

2. im a little bit short sighted and when im in college i have to wear glasses

3. in terms of genres i have a super diverse music taste but in terms of actual artists im always listening to the same shit over and over again

4. im bilingual, being fluent in both english and scottish gaelic. i would also like to learn german but i havent made a whole lot of progress so far lmao

5. berlin is my favourite place in the world and i try to go at least once a year

6. feelings have never been my strong point and im quite often oblivious to peoples intentions, i try to see the good in everyone no matter what even when that isnt always the best thing for me

7. ive never been able to swim despite trying to learn many many times over many many years

8. my thigh bones are twisted inwards and im super self conscious about the way i walk because of it

9. im allergic to cats but that will never stop me from wanting one

10. sunflowers and similarly proportioned plants freak me the fuck out and i dont know why

Talk about something you’ve learned about yourself recently.

I need people a lot more than I let myself believe I do. That’s not necessarily something I recently learned, but it’s coupled with a relatively new revelation that it’s not just people I need. I need the right people. I love supporting others, making them feel amazing, and doing work that makes people happy, whatever that work is. That said, I need people who are going to support me back. I think in some ways I’m still looking for the right people, and in other ways I could open myself up more to the people I already have in my life. It’s something I’m working on, but I think I needed to learn that second part before I could really start figuring everything else out.

Talk about something you’ve always known about yourself.

I AM WEIRD. And I’m not saying that in a Riverdale!Jughead “have you ever seen me without this hat????” kind of way. I mean it in the OG Jughead way, where I have very particular interests and loves and desires, and I don’t feel things or experience the world the way a lot of people do, and not everyone is gonna get that. (Also, I love burgers. And Jughead. A lot.) But that’s me. That’s who I am. That’s “my brand”, if you will. And I love it. It’s led me to amazing places and incredible opportunities. I won’t say it doesn’t make me self-conscious, and it can be a tad bit lonely sometimes. But when I find the weird people who are like me, and appreciate all that comes with that weirdness, it’s the best feeling and it makes everything so worth it.

Talk about someone you have been in love with.

It feels like I only think I’ve been in love. What I felt for this person may have been love, but it doesn’t feel like real love. Looking back, it feels like we were playing pretend. At the time, I could see a future with them, envision a full life, the 2.5 kids, a house, and everything that entails. I’d thought about doing a lot of things for them that today I couldn’t dream of doing for anyone in my life right now. But that was also a different me. A me that put that person first to a fault. Who let this person walk all over me and my heart. I’m still recovering from it, years later, and while I wish them no ill will, I regret ever giving that much of myself who would never give that much of themselves in return. I really hope that wasn’t love, because if it was, I’m sure they never loved me.

Talk about who you turn to and who your closest friends are.

I mentioned before that I’m still working on opening up to the people in my life. Nowhere is that more apparent than in who I turn to. I still rely on my parents for my emotional well-being, and I think I always will. In a world that has taught me how hard good people are to find, I will continue to hang onto the people who have never let me down.

Right now, I think I’m still figuring out who my closest friends are, and that isn’t a slight to the people I see every day, or the ones I talk to on a regular basis. I’m just feeling a bit lost in that area. This probably comes back to me and my own misgivings about being close to people, but I’m glad these people are in my life all the same. They seem to care about me and want to be there for me, and that’s really all I can ask for.

Talk about how your setting influences you right now.

My setting is telling me I need to sleep. The clock reads 11:54, the only thing I hear is the clicking of my keys and the white noise produced by the fan in my laptop. My bedroom door is slightly ajar, beckoning me towards it. I am looking out at the entirety of my apartment and I only see shadows from the single spotlight standing tall above me.

But this apartment is unmade after moving a few months ago from another unit. While it looks identical to the last place, this is not a home. This is a staging area for the next chapter of my life. Bits of my life are strewn about, waiting to be packed up again and whisked away, with no concrete plans to do so anytime soon. I’m at once overcome with the deep sleep that comes after a full day and the anxiety of not knowing what will happen when I wake. Into my mind pops a singular thought that succinctly captures these feelings: I need to leave.

Talk about something you rant about a lot.

I feel like I rant about a lot of things, but the topic I probably rant about the most is atonality, in some way shape or form. 20th century music is interesting, and there’s a lot to be said about how pushing the boundaries of tonality have provided us with great art, from the works of Cage, Pendrecki, Ives and more, to more accessible, but still progressive work, like the incomprehensible screams of bands like Beartooth and Silverstein, or the stuttering leads and synths from the likes of Skrillex and Deadmau5.

I respect the composers who pushed these boundaries and I respect their work. I respect it quite a bit, truth be told (even if I don’t find all of it to my aesthetic tastes). But damn it, that doesn’t mean that we should reduce our study of 20th and 21st century music to these folks! What about looking at more people like Bernstein who played with tonality and rhythm without completely abandoning structure and form? Or perhaps actually *discussing* how those ideas permeated their way into music outside of Western Art Music, much the way cerulean blue from Oscar De La Renta’s 2002 collection made its way to Andrea’s clearance bin sweater in Devil Wears Prada? These are the types of conversations I’m interested in having and it’s a shame to me that more of these discussions aren’t happening in classrooms where future composers and educators, the people who directly shape musical culture, are supposed to be given the tools they need to succeed. They need to have these discussions to fuel their own creativity and challenge their students to do the same.
