Okay, I know there are so many other good reasons to support immigration, but honestly, I'd just do it for the food. I live in a very diverse city and the things I can eat! I could have authentic restaurant food from a different culture every day of the week, I can buy all sorts of funky, delicious fruits at the grocery store, and our "international" section is a whole aisle now (both sides!) and there are so many yummy things! Foods that used to be foreign are spilling into the regular aisles.

Please come to my country. I want to eat your food.

hi! i've really enjoyed playing apocalypse keys, and i'm sorry if this is laid out in the book but i can't find it - are there specific rules for pc vs pc combat? our group has organically landed on one of the characters being the harbinger, and everyone at the table is enthusiastic about this plot beat, but i'm not sure exactly how to handle the conflict mechanically. (we also have not actually rolled opening the door yet, but we're prepping in case they're right)

You could draw inspiration from some of the guidance on page 222, it details how to handle things when a player mechanically turns into a Harbinger in the middle of a Mystery through their Ruin Move 👀

Generally there aren't PVP rules because I find players will often lean into the emotional/relationship aspects. Someone is going to say or do something that will get through to the other person, or escalate the situation to the point where the revealed Harbinger will have to leave the group.

As the Keeper this is a tricky but very cool opportunity, I'd say go with your gut with what feels true to the characters and the drama, you'd be surprised with the tricks your players will pull with their moves (especially if they bring out those Ruin Moves!). Apocalypse Keys was generally built so that combat can end quickly and decisively, focusing on the narrative, I hope that's what ends up happening for you!

If it doesn't, I have a feeling you'll be able to facilitate a super fun session because you know your players best! Just check in every so often and you should be good! And players can be really good at making a game their own ❤️

I just think that 'animals are living intelligent creatures that have feelings and deserve to be respected' and 'when done properly farming is beneficial to both people and animals and there's nothing wrong with raising and killing animals for food, clothing, and other products' are concepts that very much can and should coexist

#i think a lot of people get too carried away in farming discourse to actually remember both of these things #some people are so aggressively anti-farming that they forget that meat and fur are necessary for some people #and that farming helps prevent overhunting of certain species #but some people are so aggressively pro-farming that they begin to think of animals as objects #that only exist to provide them with a product #animals deserve to be treated with respect and be given the best care possible while they're alive #but that doesn't mean that its a bad thing for them to die

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes

Bisan is calling for another global strike!

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!

PSA: i keep seeing posts about staying cool in extreme heat that include advice like "gatorade is bad actually!" and "don't drink fruit juice it'll just dehydrate you!" and neither of these are true!

regarding fruit juice: there's apparently a misconception that Any Sugar At All will dehydrate you, and that's simply not true. yes, sugar will make you pee more when consumed in large amounts, but 1) the natural sugar in fruits won't do this to you 2) great news! a lot of fruit juices exist without any added sugar in them! 3) honestly even having a glass of the fruit juice with added sugar won't completely dehydrate you as long as you're also drinking water throughout the day. if its hot you deserve a cold treat of a drink!!! can't go wrong with fruit juice!!!

regarding gatorade: maybe this isn't an every day drink, but guess what: if it's 110F/40C or hotter outside, and you don't have AC, or you're moving around a lot outside of the AC, and you're sweating buckets: that's when you drink a gatorade.

gatorade exists to replenish all the electrolytes (salt) and glucose (sugar) that you sweat out. YES it is meant for athletes to drink during intensive work outs and not necessarily for people who aren't doing that kind of exercise. BUT GUESS WHAT! when you're sweating buckets because you had to walk to the bus in extreme heat, that's intensive exercise. please feel free to drink a gatorade after that! that's its intended use case!!!!

no: neither of these drinks should be a total replacement for water. but drinking a lot of water and then treating yourself to a fruit juice with lunch is a good idea!!! drinking a gatorade becuase you just had to walk for 20 minutes in the heat is a good idea!!!

Please Stop Spreading Misinformation About Drinks!!! It's fine if you drink things that aren't water!!!! Yes you should probably always be drinking water but drinking something else As Well isn't going to hurt you!!!! okay!!!! its fine!!!!!!
