i would say that i sometimes hate the part of my brain that just.. misses how to communicate and causes me to misunderstand something that is clearly obvious to other people etc, but i think it’s more frustration at the response i can get from expressing that

Find someone slightly annoying but in really small harmless ways so I decide none of the behaviours are worth bringing up with them → realizing: hey, Im also annoying! solidarity! → realizing we have a lot in common and starting to bond → finding out other people find this person annoying and are vocal about it behind their back → finding out this person has ADHD like me that's (at least one reason) why we have all these traits in common → fear.
#trying to be as vague as possible even tho this is someone I know offline and no one involved follows me online#on one level I get it that relying someone who is forgetful and does things slower/differently than you can be frustrating#but like its a medical condition. and u dont need to know someones medical info to have some empathy instead of assuming malice/incompetence#i just found out they have adhd today but day one i was able to go 'wow i did not like the way they handled that but i dont think they were#being hurtful/careless we just handle this task differently. rhey didnt do anything wrong and i can let this go and adjust my expectations'#not to say im perfect and never ableist towards others. my first reaction to seeing traits i dislike in myself (from my disabilities)#in others is often to get annoyed and needing to adjust my thinking#i get annoyed with myself when I cant focus / cant be coherent or concise / cant finish tasks quickly etc#→ get annoyed sometimes when I see others doing that → realize thats not fair to them → realize thats not fair to myself#→ assume good intentions and find ways to communicate/collaborate better with them → get along better and maybe make a new friend!#sorry i am rambling#idk its scary seeing someone being disliked for adhd symptoms/traits that im mostly doing a good job of managing/hiding in this#social environment so far and knowing that could happen to me in the future#but im also like ready to have this persons back#me 🤝 them: prioritizing the wrong tasks and overexplaining things and struglging to get our points across#and not noticing when we talk too loud and forgetting tasks halfway thru etc#not to be that guy but : without love it canmot be seen!!!!#lifes so much better if u just assume ppl arent doing things a certain way to be annoying + let go of / adapt to the thing that are annoying#but not harmful#thats not exactly what without love it cant be seen means but thats one of the ways i apply it in life#just like dont assume malice. assume u dont have all the info. approach ppl/situations with empathy.#or youll make yourself more miserable needlessly#again like only for shit that's not harmful obv#i need to shut up and go to bed

ever wanted to talk abt something so bad but u have so many thoughts so u cant even begin to organize a sentence. thats me abt shuro and its why i cant give my thoughts on him. i NEED to get this out of my system bc its takign up so much memory in my brain i need that space for thinking.
so i was really surprised to find so much hate for him even tho he seems pretty normal and rational out of the whole cast. ive deducted that its mostly abt his laios fight and that the ppl who hate him probably had bad experiences w social cues and relationships w neurotypicals bc of that. theres no way to avoid it bc its pretty much Right In Your Face that laios is ND. but thats not the only factor in why their relationship is rocky. its also the culture barrier. u have to understand toshiro was raised as JAPANESE NOBILITY ofc he would be a little conservative
also culture shock. idk if u know this but jp culture is very Mind Your Own Business like a lot of other asian cultures . ofc hes gonna be weirded out by a stranger invading his space. also his names not even Shuro. its just yt ppl not pronouncing his name right and settling for whats easiest.

ok you get the gist of the culture aspect of it. lets go into the ND/NT clash aspect of it. yes i understand its pretty hurtful to never be told when youre acting inappropriately. i am autistic too lmao. but you have to understand that shiro is one guy and he even does realize that repressing things is one of his fatal flaws. again. asian culture. non confrontational. that sorta thing. but these are genuine frustrations. if i were him id be annoyed too but id speak out about it. set boundaries. bc im blunt. shiros not. he was taught crazy strict manners (hierarchies, respect, politeness, etc).
his problem isnt ableism its a culmination of culture barriers, how he was raised to behave, and terrible lack of communication as thing caused by "all of the above" plus he just generally keeps to himself a lot which means repressing frustrations that will explode leading to a pathetic fistfight while hes starved, exhausted, and dehydrated. also. if he was ableist he would hate laios. he doesnt hate laios. at the end of the day, they are friends. NT and ND ppl can be friends u know. there will be rifts (like their fight) but you just have to communicate misunderstandings. theyre gonna be fine lol
anyways that was my whole spiel abt it. i think i got everything out that i wanted to? my head still feels a little full so i may add more later when i remember something
also i think its a little unfair to rule out the possibility of laios and him just being 2 very different kinds of ND bc its very common for misunderstandings to occur even then. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT BUT WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER! but for the sake of interpreting the Fight as a commentary on NT social rules and ND frustration, ill say toshiros NT. will we ever know? hes so far in the sidelines... youd really have to dig in the extra content to see the intricacies of his character.... please give him a chance

the fucking aestheticizing of cluster b pds and the way yall talk about this with words like core/culture ect. have turned these disorders into aesthetic identities and it makes me want to claw my fucking skin off. every single day in the tag i have to block another "cluster b culture is" blog because yall insist on doing this even when it makes absolutely zero fucking sense. there is no "culture" there is no universal shared expereince there is no shared identity there is no aesthetic or core because its just a collection of symptoms that are broadly similar but in practice are highly individual and personal
like what is aspd-core? what does that mean? what are the core aesthetics that define aspd as a cultural identity? because thats what a "core" is. x-core just means an aesthetic identity with a shared cultural understanding. so explain to me what the shared cultural aesthtic identity of this mental disorder is without being ableist or stereotypical, instant fail if u mention blood even once. dont worry i'll wait.
it just makes no sense, is extreamly anti-recovery, and to be honest it makes u a really insufferably annoying person. because when u aestheticize them and turn them into a cultural identity with a shared experience that is a fundimental part of who u are, u completely fuck ur recovery. because the goal of recovery is to lessen and get rid of as many symptoms as possible and learn to cope with the ones that remain. but if ur symptoms are what make u who u are, then losing them means losing a part of urself or even ur entire self. so instead ppl will steadfastedly hold onto those negative symptoms that are causing them and everyone around them harm and will attempt to justify them by saying "these are good actually because they're a part of this shared aesthetic identity of who i am and therefore are an innate part of me that can never change" and thats just a fucking lie. u are deluding urself in order to justify the easier or more "fun" option, even when its clearly wrong
there is no cluster b aesthetic, there is no cluster b core, there is no cluster b culture. there is only a vaguely similar collection of overlapping symptoms caused by trauma. the minute u accept that its not that deep and its not who and all u are and stop building ur entire persona and sense of self around it is the minute u actually stop moodboard aestheticizing wallowing in misery and asking people stupid fkn questions like "what are ur favorite aspd-core songs"

i rly think that ppl who feel a strong need to go "us versus them" in the sso criticism discourse need to just, take a deep breath and look within. there is so much black and white mindset always going on here, and so much bad ppl vs good ppl. its always been lacking in nuance and individuality and its frustrating.
there *are* ppl in the fandom who say really dumb shit, like fatphobic shit, sexist or racist shit, ableist shit.... but not everyone who criticises sso fairly and positively does any of that. not everyone who criticises sso annoyedly does any of that. not everyone who absolutely fucking hates sso does any of that.
there are equally ppl who genuinely are defending the most dumb shit from sse/sso just to be a defender and supporter without reason..... but not everyone who says something positive about the game does that. not everyone who loves the game does that. etc.
its not good and not okay to take out frustrations on people who dont actually do anything wrong or harmful (giving regular criticism, expressing personal opinions, giving fair praise - vs attacking staff, attacking other users for their opinion, posting harmful things, etc).
when you do that, you're blaming an innocent person for a perceived wrong from a "group" (like "haters" or "whiners" or "ppl who ruin my fun") that you have defined, that you associate "anyone who criticises things i disagree with" or whatever instead of "ppl who genuinely and provenly did something harmful". anyone who *seems* like they might be in that group annoys you, even if they arent.
consider why you think its okay to label people as invalid or unfair or unreasonable in their opinions if they have a different opinion than you but arent hurting anyone. (if you feel hurt by commercial media criticism, especially when its not even *your* product/work, there is a problem on your end that you should address.)
consider why you think its okay to say words like "ungrateful" about people who are simply voicing fair criticism or fair opinions about a videogame. i could call ppl ungrateful for not liking all my posts that i put so much work into making, but that would be really rude and ridiculous. its not kind and not nice to say things like that about ppl when they havent actually done anything wrong (criticising a videogame doesnt make someone "ungrateful", and posting harmless opinions on your own blog is not a problem).
the "us vs them" group system in sso fandom is usually along these lines: haters vs non-haters, haters vs defenders/whiteknights, or "any other critics" vs "those who see themselves as the only Good and Fair and Nice critics"... all of these are more or less the same groups just slight variation in the person's point of view. and all of them are bad, because these groups are not actually rigid and applicable in reality. people are individual and people are nuanced.
some of you guys post what i consider kinda unfair comments on sso sometimes. it could be good or bad comments, that i personally consider a bit too subjective or unfair or unrealistic or whatever. but i dont post rude, disrespectful or mean things about that on my blog, and i try to not act as if you belong to some group that youve never claimed to belong to (encouraging the "us vs them" mentality in the community).
if i *am* going to say "sso defenders" or "sso haters", i would be making sure to actually be talking to/about ppl who evidently belong to that label. ppl who defend sse even when it makes no sense, not just ppl who praise good things about the game. ppl who actually *hate* on the game, not just ppl who say something critical about it.
and you end up in those boring repetitive healthy-community-ruining social patterns when you give in to "us vs them" and to black-and-white, polarised, mindsets, when you dont actively see things as nuanced and varied and individual.
i really wish that ppl would step back and think, "this opinion / this criticism about sso made me feel annoyed/upset. why is that? what about it made me feel bad? am i taking something personally that isnt? did this person actually say anything harmful or wrong, or is it fair personal opinion? did they *actually* shove it in my face, or am i visiting a public space that is not curated only for me? am i painting this person as something they might not be in my mind? am i trying to sort them into a group, and if so, why?"
someone from the bullies will have a field day with this post and be like "omg juni is saying that ppl who disagree with him are mentally ill again!" (twisting words is helpful when you really want to make things black-and-white and "us vs them") but i do genuinely want to say that if you feel really hurt and upset by ppl having harmless disagreements or harmless criticisms about a videogame, there is a problem. it might have to do with your emotional boundaries ("criticism feels bad even when its not about me"), it might have to do with your self-worth ("you say sso is bad so you think im bad for liking it"), or various other things, and its not healthy. however, its also okay to feel unfair emotional reactions if you cant help them, but the problem is, you CAN help how you act, how you judge, and how you treat other people.

hmmm id say dokja and yjh... ppl who really love other characters usually understand them pretty well!! KDJ n YJH become a big issue in this fandom because of how fucking popular they are, especially together. yjh for me is mostly because they take away a lot from her character, making her a cardboard cutout ( ex. the grumpy one who is secretly a baby) and i DESPISE how so many ppl think his character is centered around kdj only.there is also this. growing trend of people woobifying him in a way thats like weirdly ableist to me and i fuckingHATE IT SO MUCH!!!!!! Now when it comes to dokja the complaints get very personal because yknow. hes the reader. its ok to project on him how you like. but i find it SO. i think this is abt when i said ppl used to find travis mcelroy annoying before his diagnosis. im sorry to say that i dont think its ableist of ppl to find a dude they just think is obnoxious annoying when they dont know its some sort of symptom bcuz sometimes they make us look like assholes. he knows himself that his behavior can be annoying. personally when i used to listen to mbmbam and their other content i just never found him to be funny so in comparison to the rest of his family he annoyed me. hope this helps

tbqh i havent seen it that much so much as ive seen ppl complaining About It and the complaints lining up w the occasional things i have seen. i think your example is part of the broader trend, but what seems most annoying is more like commenting on someone else and going "wow the autism of them ((engaging in interest))" and kind of armchair diagnosing, and then by extension even saying to ppl like "did you know (average trait on its own) is a symptom of autism??"
i think part of the annoyance is usually in the way jokes def latch onto the more socially acceptable traits & then pathologize even their most minor expressions
admittedly tho even in the more egregious examples i admittedly dont care too much so these prob arent great examples. just tryina communicate my understanding. hope that helps a lil!

If you don’t mind can you give an example of a common criticism of techno that is ableist? I’m having a bit of trouble understanding how the things you listed are used against him as a criticism
I’ve personally seen a lot of the ‘techno doesn’t feel emotions’ but the other stuff I’m not sure how that is used in analyses

The Festival is a pretty big one. Its a little uncomfortable seeing ppl say Peer Pressure was just an Excuse and he had no right to feel scared in that situation - c!Techno pretty clearly has social anxiety and overthinks things and panicked, he's said this plenty of times and as someone with Diagnosed Severe Anxiety God do I relate. I always say "peer pressure seemed like an excuse" but when I say that it's from c!Tommy's POV, not my opinion as someone with a full perspective. Mixed reactions like c!Tommy being furious meanwhile c!Tubbo, the kid he actually shot, saying he forgives him is something that can also be Very Confusing and I know I sure as hell wouldn't know what to think in that situation. Reminder that the characters most likely didnt know wtf a Canon Death was back then
Claiming every little thing he does to be abusive and manipulative and done on purpose is another one. He's Not always gonna be thinking rationally, especially 30 minutes after an attempted execution on himself. An example of this is when he first found Tommy in his house. Tommy was tryna act like his old self after going through a Lot of shit and was acting annoying and fidgety n messing around with Techno's very expensive blocks (some of this done out of nervousness but Techno didnt catch onto that) n the take "Techno was taking advantage of a traumatized kid he found" makes me So uncomfortable bc you can clearly tell that in That Scene Techno just thinks this is the Normal Tommy he knew back in Pogtopia. Tommy gives off some hints like saying his relationship w Dream was a love/hate one and going on tangents to which Techno replies with "what was that I kinda spaced out". He clearly didnt connect the dots here that c!Tommy had had something very traumatizing happen to him and to claim he was being manipulative in trying to get him to join him here is... A Take. He didnt know kicking Tommy out would leave him vulnerable to Dream. Its the same as Anyone kicking Anyone Else out of their house when they thought they were being annoying. Techno had just had an attempted execution on him by Tubbo 30 minutes beforehand, of COURSE he's gonna tell Tommy that the government has driven him n Tubbo apart and that Tubbo has hurt him by exiling him. This plays into the whole "Techno doesnt have feelings" honestly
Speaking of the panic attacks. Seeing ppl say Techno is bad at comforting Tommy / Techno purposefully ignored Tommy's feelings / etc is another Bad one
"Techno had no right to feel _____" is one I've seen and. Boy
Techno WAS upset on November 16th, Techno WAS confused and panicky during The Festival, Techno WAS Hurt when Tommy betrayed him, Techno WAS Hurt when they attempted to execute him, Techno DID feel like they all used him as a weapon. He HAS feelings!!!
Just bc I dont think Techno was actually intentionally used or betrayed or bc I think the Butcher Army was just tryna scare him off or think Tommy was justified in being upset w him for killing Tubbo, etc that doesnt mean I think Techno Isnt allowed to feel emotions or feel hurt and it's kinda tiring seeing ppl treat Techno as if he's some heartless monster who's always thinking rationally and manipulatively like some sort of supervillain or doesnt "have any right" to feel as hurt as he is by things. Yes a lot of the time its miscommunication and he's overthinking or assuming things or what he thinks is Incorrect but that doesnt change the fact that he Does Think these things and he Is Hurt by them
I wish so bad when ppl talk about his actions for more ppl to take into account c!Techno's ADHD, Social Anxiety, his Paranoia, his tendency to Overthink and Assume The Worst, etc. Bc these are traits that are quite important and a Lot of the time Cannot Be Helped

I think the racial aspect of buddies disliking ana was that they made her be Latina when the actress is in fact African American Irish. Just because she's latina-passing doesn't mean she should be playing a Latina. It's not about "acting" because you can't act someone's physical appearance or ethnicity -you either are or arent that-. Could you imagine the backlash if someone hired someone like Kim Kardashian out of solarium to play a black or biracial character? Or if an indian character of Raj in big bang theory was played by a white guy?
I think its normal ppl hate on characters that are obstacles to the ship they want to go canon or are threatening a canon ship. Bucktaylor shippers hate eddie and will hate lucy if she gets in the way, bathena shippers are gonna hate whoever gets in the way of bathena, henerens hated hen's ex 🤷🏼♀️
I dont think buddies dislike ana and Taylor because they're women, but because they're not eddie/buck. They'd hate on a hot white guy if he were to get with either buck or eddie - not because he's a man or white but because he isn't eddie/buck.
I feel like in this Fandom dislike of characters is only seen as racist and misogynistic if it's coming from buddie shippers, when in reality buddies would hate anyone in the way of buddie not because of their gender or skin color but because they aren't buck/eddie.
Obviously I agree that she shouldn’t play a Latina if she isn’t Latina. That’s something to take up with the casting directors and the actress more than anyone. But I saw the shit you guys would say about her and that is very obviously not the main reason you don’t like her. I think it’s normal to get annoyed with a character if they get in the way of your ship but what’s not normal is you guys inventing reasons to hate her without just admitting you don’t like her because she gets in the way. If that’s the reason, admit it! Don’t just try to paint her as some horrific ableist piece of shit for no actual reason. And yeah you can say this is normal but I have honest to god never seen a fandom act this way about the women that get in the way since like…. people in the Supernatural fandom 10 years ago. You guys take it way past the “normal” amount of dislike for a character that acts as an obstacle. It’s fucking vicious.

Sexuality Headcanon: ok so theres two schools of thought about this to me.
the first is that hes straight (and cis) and proud of both these things and will readily tell you he is cishet, but he still refers to himself and his gf as a queer couple bc shes a crocodile so he says like Unconventional Relationships like your girlfriend turning into a crocodile are inherently queer but galo and lio are heteronormative because galo is kinda masc and lio is kinda fem (the korrasami handmaiden person or whatever but with actual ppl he knows irl bc i have met ppl like that and they r a trip). this isnt the option i typically go with tho just bc its a pain to keep up its only funny for like 1 joke. also i just do not care. no representation for those people
the second is hes straight and after he says something remotely nice to another man hes the kinda guy who says ‘no homo’ and means it unironically. this is the one that feels more in line w canon to me. he thinks gays stole the rainbow. he tells galo this once like he thinks galo can speak to the gay council and has the power to make sure rainbows are no longer associated with gay people. galo is like wow ok sure remi ill let them know and then he calls lio and they lose their shit about it
