Honestly been LIVING for all the Trigun crossing my dash, it was one of my favorite animes back in the day (along with Cowboy Bebop) and it’s totally unlocked a huge wave of nostalgia for me! I really want to watch Trigun Stampede now. If you get a chance you should watch the old one too! :)
I am absolutely gonna watch the old one now. (Just gotta make time to do it, if my work schedule is merciful.)
I'll be honest, I really missed the boat with Trigun. I never saw it back when it was airing. I knew of it, but I never saw it. And I knew basically nothing about it.
Like, I knew what Vash looked like. (Didn't know his name; just what he looked like and that he was from Trigun.) And I knew he was known to pull weird faces and really liked donuts. That was the extent of my knowledge about Trigun. I knew nothing else. Not the plot, not the other characters...nothing. Somehow this show was a blip on my radar for so long.
But then Trigun Stampede came out, and some of the people I follow were reblogging stuff about it a lot, so I got curious enough to finally look. The original 1998 anime has 26 episodes, so I decided to start with Stampede since it only has 12 (10 when I started watching).
My thoughts on it as a whole: I loved it. Completely fell in love with it. 10/10, it made me want to watch the 1998 anime so I can get the full experience, and doubly appreciate the effort that was put into Stampede.
Also...
Meryl is my new wife. 🥰 It was fav at first sight with her.

I need us Tenlark shippers to be canon in the cfdau universe. Can you imagine? I'd totally send fanart portraits of Tenar to Nancy.
Do you think the cast members of Erathia get fan gifts and collect them? Does the cast have their own favorite movie merch? And were there any goofy action figures?
oh my god my girlssssss they're so precious! also?? slap scene my beloved???? i love <3
pretty sure this whole tenlark phenomenon started with me mentioning that there were tenlark shippers mailing zines to each other back in the 80s/90s. we're absolutely canon here
also, yes to the fan gifts! it's actually mentioned (briefly and vaguely) in both the cfdau and later on in the nancy pov--Nancy has a lil console table that, when she moves into her apartment, Max and Robin decorate with fan gifts and letters she's gotten over the years
also i've never thought about it before but now that you mention it yes there absolutely were goofy action figures. Arren's and Moss's were the most popular, but there was a special edition version of Lark that came with her horse and if you could get your hands on that you were the coolest kid in school
as for favorite movie merch, i'm absolutely making this up on the fly, but...
Dustin thought the line of Erathia trading cards was the coolest thing in the world when he was a kid, and it's still his favorite thing to sign to this day.
Steve has a surprising soft spot for all the really little, dorky things like Erathia pez dispensers and erasers and stuff. Max has an extremely worn t-shirt from the first film that probably belonged to Robin at some point, but she's had it for so long that no one really knows for sure.
Nancy's is a Tenar doll that released after the third film where she's in her princess gown, but if you take the dress off underneath it she's wearing her armor. It comes with her sword too and she secretly thinks it's the coolest Erathia merch they ever released.
And as for Robin, she tells people that her favorite merch is the silly little Tenar elf ears they tried to sell for a very limited time back in '84, and that answer never fails to make Nancy all flustered and huffy. But in reality her answer is her VHS of the first film, simply because she got the entire cast to sign it at some point and it's always been on her TV stand in every home she's lived in ever since
Was once again thinking about Fawn Spots (surprising I know) and I was trying to figure out what Harry would do with his hair because there’s no way he would leave it as it was with Alex and Andy as parents (he wants to be like them at first and then later with his hair so different than what is expected it makes differentiating ‘Harry Cyprin’ and Harry Potter’ easier at least for him. It’s more of a mask he wears like the ones his parents wear to deal with the gods, someone who isn’t him but he can’t be if he wants.) and I was thinking about having him grow out his hair but didn’t want it to be too similar to Andy when I realized what the infinitely funnier option for all parties was.
The JD haircut.
Or at least a version of it with the side that’s not shaved being a little longer (past the shoulders) and the bangs having the usual Potter messiness to it.
This has the added bonuses of Harry trying to figure out how to get his hair cut at Hogwarts before he is of Hogsmead age (a trial that lands him, somehow, in the seventh year boy’s dorm, the only place they could agree on since Harry couldnt use the girls side like she normally operated out of and she was not dealing with the mess eleven year old boys made when left mostly unattended, with the head girl wielding a pair of scissors and a wand with terrifying amounts of skill); everyone else doing a double take seeing the baby punk next to his incredibly well put together parents who look like they sleep in office wear; and, of course, Alex being left with the crippling knowledge that if and when JD finds out about this they will never let Alex live down the fact that their child through no interference of JD’s became a mini me to the Jersey Devil.
Just watched pretty woman for the first time and I can't stop thinking about callboy!Billy... you're in a nice dress in a fancy car you can barely drive, hair done up all pretty and you stop to try and get directions. Billy leans into your passenger side window, shirt almost totally unbuttoned in the tightest leather pants you've ever seen. He has dark eyeliner smudged around his thick lashes and his nails are painted the same color. Mismatched flashy (some may say gaudy) earrings poke out from his dirty blonde curls. You can see his toned muscles flexing in the dim streetlight, the only thing covering his broad chest is the necklace that hangs down as he leans over. He looks you up and down, chewing on a toothpick while he flashes you a smile that would make any woman in a 30 mile radius weak at the knees and wet in between them.
"You lookin' for a good time, sugar?" You look back, unimpressed.
"I'm looking for someone who can drive this thing to my hotel." You state in a huff. You're taken by surprise when he leans a little further in, analyzing the interior of the car, before he begins rambling about the make and model.
"Man, this thing corners like it's on rails." Out of ideas and desperate, you scooch over to the passenger seat.
"Be my guest."
He looks at you for a few seconds, facade dropping more than it had.
"You serious?" You nod, gesturing for him to get in and giving him the name of your hotel. He flashes you a smile, a real one this time, and pats the steering wheel.
"Buckle up, sweetheart, I'm gonna have her purring like a kitten."
My parents r atheists with christian parents which means that me and my sibling r atheists with atheist parents. One side effect of this is that christmas is a Big Deal to my parents but I'm atheist enough that christmas has basically no meaning to me outside of "the time of year I get free stuff"
