Comedic because of how their personalities naturally play off each other and contrast, but mostly the angst/tragedy of your best friend not sparing you from the culling/being unable to fully convince him in getting off that dark path he's on/naively thinking things can be resolved without fighting and bloodshed, when he's already indulged in that bloodshed in probably one of the most gruesome ways possible.
