So I'm sure you've all seen this picture before:
It's gotten a surprising amount of use here on Tumblr. So allow me to regail you with the tale of how it came to be.
A while back, (like five or so years) Facebook would not stop inundating me with an ad for a "build it yourself" Hurdy Gurdy kit. Naturally I complained about it to my friend group since it was absolutely ridiculous. Well after about three or so months I finally broke down and bought the damn thing. This immediately prompted my best friend @thevoidwatches to make an edit of the popular Garfield propaganda meme to read "You are not immune to the Hurdy-gurdy." And we all had a good laugh about it. Void ended up helping me build the Hurdy-gurdy which was a very fun time, even though the cursed thing sounds like a dying cat. But even still it's a very beautiful to look at piece so I keep it around.
A bit of time passes and @theshitpostcalligrapher opened their askbox to get some good good shitposts to make calligraphy of, and naturally I had to get the meme immortalized. However I didn't remember the wording void used for some damn reason, and ended up submitting "I am not immune to the Hurdy-gurdy"
So why am I telling you all this? Well 2023 just ended and my friend group did our holiday gift exchange. And when I opened up my gift I found out that my best friend @anonforlackofabettername commissioned shits to make me a truly curséd thing.
BEHOLD:
A new and improved version of the infamous "I am not immune to the Hurdy-gurdy"!
Apparently anne got pictures of the damned Hurdy-gurdy to send to shits for the drawing right in front of me, and I had no idea what their true purpose was for.
It goes without saying that I absolutely love and adore this gift. Now I just gotta find somewhere to hang it up.

Why does the month of october always have to be so unimaginably unfortunate for me? Every single year, it's like everything that can possibly go wrong *does* go wrong specifically in october.
Gods I hate having to re-enter survival mode when the weather is finally starting to actually be nice and being unable to do anything but hide in my house while suffering from five mental breakdowns, three paranoia episodes, and everything actually going wrong too.

I have briefly ventured into the Stranger Things fandom and I’m both sad and not surprised to see it’s the same as any other big fandom nowadays. People trying to villainize perfectly unproblematic ships because they don’t align with their shipping agenda, all while grasping at straws to prove why their completely fanon-only ship is the gospel truth.
When did people start to forget that:
a) you’re free to dislike a ship simply because you dislike it. you can have your NOTP with your whole chest without needing to jump through hoops to try and turn an unproblematic ship into a problematic one.
b) you don’t need a ship to be canon to ship it. you can ship it simply because you liked their chemistry together, their potential. hell, you don’t even need characters to interact to ship them.

Finally watching the match and the fact that the iranian goalie wasn't immediately taken off is appalling the poor man looked so groggy. The medical teams need to be stricter about forcing players off if necessary. Tbh i think the ref should be able to say he's not going to restart the game until he's taken off if the medical team can't force the player off or if the player just doesn't look well enough to continue

One of my favorite moments in the finale is Sokka using his pristine acting skills to announce to the whole airship that they will be celebrating a birthday during one of the most important missions in fire nation history, and then everyone on the crew collecting in the drop chamber like they were asked and acting like it's the most normal thing ever because apparently it's common to have birthday parties on fire nation war vessels during extermination missions.
