lately i haven’t been mentally good enough and haven’t had the energy to do a proper skincare routine in a while, and im so happy to say i finally did one tonight

#skincare is my top self care thing #and I just haven’t been okay enough to take care of myself #lately it’s been cleansing wipes with a toner and moisturizer then call it a night #but no I finally cleansed properly #took my time #DID A MASK #I feel so nice #I got dry skin so I feel so hydrated #I feel a bit embarrassed admitting that I’ve been struggling to even do skincare #but that’s just the part of it sometimes #it’s the little victories and trying #angel talks 💕

walk with me... “you’re the one holding the knife” ... what if i said that shauna was always the more powerful one in the relationship? on one level because even back in the high school world all of jackie’s “successes” were hollow. her captaincy is undermined by tai and shauna scheming behind her back. her best friend feels stifled by her and secretly resents her. her picture perfect boyfriend has been fucking the aforementioned best friend on the down low. and what’s the common factor? SHAUNA. shauna is the literal shadow agent who is actually living out jackie’s successes. (of course, they’re kind of hollow successes for shauna too, cause pretty much all of them blow up in her face eventually. but still, it’s about jackie thinking those successes belong to her when shauna is actually benefiting from them)

and then there’s this whole other level that’s just between the two of them and relates to their power struggles specifically. at first glance it looks like jackie is in charge and shauna is just at the mercy of her whims. the classic popular girl and dorky sidekick dynamic. but if you look a little closer it becomes so obvious how dreadfully insecure jackie is and how totally devoted to shauna she is. what if jackie actually envies shauna more than shauna envies jackie? what if jackie would do anything shauna asks of her because she loves her that much? what if shauna is actually the leader and jackie is the follower? what if shauna was always the one holding the knife?

quite truthfully my very personal highly self indulgent interpretation of the life series & it as a timeloop specifically is like. entirely 10000% shaped by orvs metanarrative so if you want access to this specific interpretation that like maybe 2 or 3 total people globally hold you will unfortunately have to read 551 chapters of a korean webnovel that only exists in full via awkward fan translation. but it sounds tempting does it not

Live Action Last Airbender really said in order to get rid of the sexism, some other sexism had to take its place but unlike Sokka learning sexism was bad, the new sexism is never addressed and treated like its okay.

at 2pm every Saturday Odin hosts an hour-long podcast on effective parenting where he gives out tips and anecdotes to assist the parents on Asgard in raising their young as well-established proper individuals and immediately after at 3pm every Saturday Loki’s podcast on dealing with trauma starts

#Asgard only has one radio channel #Thor hosts a thing at 5 where he retells valiant battle tales of victories for children #4-5 is bard hour #Odin speaks to the parents and Loki speaks to their kids #anonymous caller number 3 very clearly describing the same scenario Odin’s caller 6 did #everyone reasonable in the community is livid and that the kids are being treated badly #everyone else is trying to raise their children to be obedient little worker bees #if the community starts to shun parents and take in kids from each other don’t look at Loki all his callers are anonymous and confidential #Odin does not catch on to any patterns btw he’s too busy telling people to discipline their kids well with the harsh hand of books and belt

my family is actually ruined by domestic abuse. my mom is 55 with nothing to show for her life. my siblings and I are all brilliant people who had a lot of potential as kids but as adults we’re all underachievers with mental health problems. I grew up being taught to capitulate to other people’s anger issues in order to avoid being hurt worse. my dad and I have a good relationship now but not only have I never loved him but I can’t even imagine what loving or respecting him would look like for me. I will never be a family oriented person bc growing up spending time with the family was synonymous with walking on eggshells waiting for everything to blow up and someone to get hurt. there’s nothing less cute or romantic or desirable in the world.

#I coped by rebelling and making him my enemy and pissing him off on purpose #and trying to get as many little victories as I could and planning to kill him #and it wasn’t because I was evil it was because I was a scared angry fucked up kid in a terrible situation

as a follow up to the Kokiri Emerald conversation: I think I'm leaning on Link finding it back in his pocket after the jump back in time for Thralls in particular, that way I don't have to introduce the kokiris in the story and that simplifies the conflict (and even allows me to replace the McGuffin I needed for a specific moment in the story with the Emerald, which would make that moment so much more impactful). A fact that is always appreciated.
