I have another one of these in the works, but it's taking FOREVER to finish so I'm just going to post this one.
Here's Apollo's family tree on his mother's side! We always talk about the Olympians, so I thought it would be interesting to look in the other half of the family. Here is everyone listed from top to bottom, left to right.
Coios: Titan of Intellect, and overseer of Heavenly Prophecy.
Phoibe: Titaness of Intellect, and overseer of Earthly Prophecy.
Perses: Titan of Destruction.
Asteria: Titaness of Shooting Stars and Nighttime Divination.
Lelantos: Titan of Air and moving unseen.
Leto: Titaness of Motherhood and Demureness.
Zeus: God of Storms, Justice, and King of Olympus.
Hekate: Goddess of Witchcraft, Magic, and Ghosts
Aura: Goddess of the Breeze and hunting partner of Artemis.
Apollo: God of the Sun, Music, Poetry, etc.
Artemis: Goddess of the Moon, the Hunt, and Archery.
Extra note: While researching to make sure I got this right, I found this little note that makes me giggle and kick my feet bc I have so many ideas surrounding it. LIke maybe a fic I don't know maybe probably that could be it but idk hahahahaha.
Clearly Coios functioned as the prophetic voice of his father Heaven, just as Phoibe was the prophetic voice of her mother Earth. Like Delphoi, navel of the earth, the axis of heaven was also guarded by a Drakon: the constellation Draco.
His grandson, Apollon the god of prophecy and light, divided his time between Delphoi, the shrine at the centre of earth previously held by Coios' wife Phoibe, and--during the winter months--Hyperborea, the land beneath the axis of heaven in the far north, represented by his grandfather Coios.
We never even touched heavenly prophecy in ToA. I wonder what that's all about hmmmmm???

Log 218
FTL: FTLR-3 has taken the form of the cyan lizard that was its host. It remains immobile, but the form it has taken is clearly that of a cyan lizard. One especially similar to the one from which it originated from. I've described my hypothesis as to why it would do such a thing in Log 216, but to summarise, it's for the sake of efficiency. Efficiency of movement, efficiency of existence. It's taking the best of all three sub-types of Rot and combining it.
FTL: I fear that this new form may grant FTLR-3 a much extended range of movement that, especially when combined with its apparent ability to learn, could result in it breaking out of the containment chamber. If all goes well, this will not be the case. I will carry on in my attempts at creating a potent corrosive substance, just in case LIFEGIVER's treatment does not arrive on time.
FTL: As for updates on the progress of my attempts to create such a substance, there aren't many. The progress has been lacking and it all is strikingly reminiscent of my attempts to create organisms without a foundation. I do believe that I am on edge of something, though. I cannot tell you what, only that it will aid me in my quest.
FTL: The time after FTLR-3 is eradicated is eagerly awaited. I cannot allow myself to get distracted from this process at this time, but the thoughts of experiments I could be doing now are alluring to me. For example, Eternal Anomaly (as our conversation has unfortunately not yet ceased) mentioned a slugcat-poleplant hybrid.
FTL: Creating a hybrid with a poleplant is indeed a curious idea. One that I wish I could afford the time to explore at this moment. Perhaps not with a slugcat, that seems to defeat the purpose. Slugcats are insanely adaptable creatures, they can withstand just about any modifications. Though a slugcat-poleplant hybrid would have its benefits, my interest lies in the reactivity of the poleplants leaves. What if a poleplant's genetics that pertain to them were implanted into say, a lizard? Forgive me for the amount of experiments that lizards have been the main subject of.
FTL: The 'leaves' could function as a warning system, though perhaps it wouldn't be that much of an effective one. Append them onto the tail though, and they could perhaps warn the lizard of any vibrations in the ground. The red colouring the lizard would be sure to inherit from the poleplants would also serve as a deterrent to predators, invoking the image of a typical red lizard. It could also potentially employ the poleplant's typical hunting method of ambush. Though it would lack the ability to blend in.
FTL: Perhaps if the lizard that would be modified were a white lizard... its camouflage abilities, if combined with the reactiveness of the poleplant. Truly could make a capable predator, armed with many ways to protect itself from any that may threaten it. Its red leaves would make it stand out, even when camouflaged, but everything needs a weakness, no?
FTL: I'll have to put this idea on hold. After this whole fiasco is over, this will be the project I pick up. Just another incentive to get this over with as quickly as possible. I tire of researching FTLR-3, it has too much urgency to it. But I shall carry on doing so, as though my interest grows weaker as my attention attempts to drift elsewhere, I remain curious about its nature.

a while ago i tried doing the math for how andre/mine could possibly live (beforelad8cameout) using relistic settings and , well obviously neither of them could from the estimated height and force, but the only way i could get a ??? a possible ??? survivor is from if one of them landed the absolute perfect way over the other, breaking the majority of the bones + coma for a while. Contrary to popular belief, NONE of my degrees were in design and I actually SUCK ASS at making graphics that look nice! Yes I am computer literate but also databases and metadata are my beloveds. Idk SHIT about colour palettes and ratios and whatever else goes into making things not Look Atrocious and this is the fourth draft of this design with STILL no clear feedback or instructions of what they actually want it to look like.

a way to make the grian shedding scenario even worse for him but also funnier: he gets helped out by a streaming rendog. curse of rendog's terrible accidental suggestive phrasing is in full effect. bonus suckiness and a watcher biology idea: if they're a lot like centipedes or the like they might have spiracles in addition to lungs and so gotta shed part of the lining of their respiratory system when shedding their skin. naturally ren will phrase helping grian with this in the worst way possible

So i did a LOT of brainstorming on Watcher biology last night, and what ive come up with is that since they aren't actually centipedes, there's not a real reason for them to shed their skin or anything like that unless theyre in the juvenile stage and growing into full adulthood. That being said though, im really liking the idea of them sometimes having to slough off code thats been deteriorated beyond repair, and that might very well look like shedding skin in some way-- i havent fully settled on the visuals for that. Some fun new Watcher biology facts for you though: Watcher eyes are all pupil, no iris. This is because the function of an iris is to control the amount of light that enters your eye, and the in-between is essentially like deep, deep ocean in terms of light; Watchers need all the light they can possibly get in order to help them see potential threats from a long ways off, so they adapted to have no iris in their eyes :]

Rauuagadjsjdsk help I'm getting ready to post this week's chapter of my kylux fic (The Unforgivable) and idk if I should also post another chapter of my Codywan fic (The Last Lost Continent) or if I should wait on that one for now and post the next chunk all together. I have like 2.5 more chapters of my kylux fic all edited and ready to go for the next few weeks and the first half of act 3 done up in a rough draft, but while I have the next like 5 chapters of my codywan fic mapped out like that I only have up to chapter 7 actually written in my clean draft.
#my main concern is like foreshadowing and shit because i LOVE adding little contextual hints and stuff early on that help support the ending#and i think ive done pretty ok with that in both of my fics but im wary of posting stuff too early and missing an opportunity#to do something like that#i have the ending of my kylux fic all planned out and a really solid grip on the direction i want to take with it#i've just set the stage for it in the next few chaptersand now im working on how to execute it in a way that makes sense in universe#while also conveying the story i want to tell and keeping true to the themes and meanings I've implemented#my codywan fic on the other hand is also almost completely planned out and while i know how i want it to end#i still have a bit to figure out in terms of how i want it to play out#that is part of the fun to me tho i fuckin LOVE making stories and plotting them out and doing research for them aaaaa#ive been rewatching tcw and tbb for inspo lately#txt#rambles#kylux#codywan#fic writing shenanigans
