Make no mistake, SEVEN and 3D are singing about the same thing. If SEVEN was in your face, 3D is subtle. But they are both just talking about sex here. Janelles eyes bounced back and forth between Josh and Ximena. Josh was literally shaking with anger. His knuckles were white from how hard he was gripping the island counter separating him , Ximena and her brother - Sebastian. The kitchen was quiet, the only thing that could be heard were the sounds of Josh’s harsh breathing and the theme song to Spongebob Square Pants.

“Have you lost your fuckin’ mind?” Josh asked lowly, he was trying his hardest not to fly off the handle and choke the shit outta Ximena. Ximena smacked her lips and threw her hair over her shoulder.

“I just wanted to see my son Joshua.”

“Man get the fuck outta here with that.” Josh said as he pushed away from the counter and tried to walk closer to Ximena but stopped once Janelle placed her hand on his shoulder. Janelle pulled him closer to her and whispered in his ear.

“You need to calm down. I understand you’re upset. Don’t do something that’ll get you arrested and put your job and Xavi in danger.” He nodded and took a deep breath trying to calm himself back down.

“Awe isn’t that cute.” Ximena said, narrowing her eyes at Janelle. “So you’re the woman that's been taking care of my son?” Janelle ignored her and kept her eyes on Josh. She placed her hand overtop of his when he gripped the counter harder.

“Mommy?” Everyone turned their heads to look at Xavi who was standing by the entryway to the kitchen. Ximena smiled thinking he was talking to her but it quickly disappeared once Xavi walked over to Janelle and grabbed her hand, pulling her down so he could whisper something in her ear.

“Why is my son calling this bitch mom?” Ximena asked and Janelle snapped her eyes towards her.

“I aint no bitch, but ya momma is.” Ximena tried to round the counter and get in Janelle’s face but Sebastian grabbed her arm pulling her back.

“She’s pregnant.” He whispered and Ximena rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. Janelle’s dad pushed himself out of his chair and grabbed Xavi’s hand leading him out of the kitchen and upstairs.

“Don’t talk like that infront of my fuckin son..” Josh said. “Why are you here?.”

“”I just told you I wanted to see my son.”

“So you had to kidnap him?” Janelle asked. “You couldn’t have just contacted Josh to see Xavi?”

“Kidnap?” Ximena laughed. “I didn’t kidnap my child.”

“He isn’t your child. You abandoned him, left him on my momma’s porch and dipped. Now four years later you wanna come back. It don’t work like that.” Josh said looking at Ximena like she was crazy, cause she literally had to be. Why would she think that taking Xavier from school was a good idea? “You wanted to come back into his life, you should've contacted me first.” Ximena’s brother scoffed. “Man what? You got somethin’ to say?”

“You ain’t no better than she is! You abandoned him first!”

“Fuck is you talkin’ bout?”

“You left my sister to fend for herself when she was pregnant aint come see the baby in the hospital or nothing. Now you somehow parent of the fuckin year?” Josh scoffed and looked at Ximena who was looking down at the floor.

“That's what you told ya family? Man you really are fucked up.”

“Don’t talk to my sister that way.” Sebastian said, stepping up to Josh.

“Fuck you and ya sister.” Josh said, pushing Sebastian away from him. “Matter fact y’all can get the fuck out my house ‘for I call the cops.”

“Okay we’ll go.” Ximena said, grabbing her brother and pulling him towards the door. “You already know we’re going to court, I'm gonna get my son back.” Josh scoffed ,

“Over my dead fuckin’ body.” He said before slamming the door in her face and locking it.

“So that was my real mommy?” Xavier asked Josh as he tucked him into bed for the night. Josh nodded.

“Yeah, I'm sorry if you were scared today, Xavi. It won’t happen again I promise.” Xavi nodded and bit the inside of his cheek.

“She said that I was going to live with her.” Xavi said, his eyes filling with tears at the thought of not being with his dad or Janelle. Josh shook his head.

“That ain’t gon happen.” Xavi sniffled and stuck his pinky out.

“Promise?” Josh linked their pinkies together.

“I promise.”

3 weeks later they found themselves sitting in a courtroom. Janelle and Xavier sat in the gallery behind Josh and his lawyer. Ximena kept trying to get Xavi’s attention from her seat but Janelle blocked his view of her.

She looked over and smiled at Trin and Jon when they sat down next to her. “You guys didn’t have to fly in for this.” She said after giving the both of them a hug.

“Girl yes we did.” Trin said. “He got all the paperwork he needed?.” Janelle nodded and let out a shaky breath.

“I hope so. I can’t wait for all this to be over.”

“Can you tell us why you would like full custody of your son Ms Morgan?”

“Um, because he’s my son.”

“But you abandoned Xavier did you not?” Ximena huffed but didn’t say anything. The judge turned her attention to Josh and his lawyer. “You want to prove to the courts that Ms Morgan is unfit, correct?”

“Yes ma’am.” Josh said and pulled some papers out of a folder. “He was malnourished and was kept in the PICU for 3 weeks after he was in my care.” He said handing the paperwork to the bailiff.

Janelle looked over to Ximena who was squirming in her chair and looking extremely uncomfortable. Janelle watched as the judge read over the paperwork, her from deepening the further she read.

“I also have the police report from the day we found him outside. She just left him there. I don’t know how long he was out there. My brother opened the front door and found him there in his car seat.” Josh said, handing over the police report.

The judge couldn’t believe what she was hearing and reading. She looked over at Ximena and gave her a disappointing stare. “I’m not going to lie to you Ms Morgan.” She started. “I’m not liking what I am hearing. All of the evidence and statements that I have received today point to you not being the right person to take care of Xavier.” Ximena scoffed and opened her mouth to retort but her lawyer grabbed her arm and shook his head.

“You honor, Ms. Morgan is Xavier’s mother and Mr Fatu has Xavier calling his fiance Ms. Porter mom. And I believe Mr Fatu is doing it out of spite.” Janelle and Trinity scoffed and looked at eachother.

“They scramblin’ now.” Jon said with a smirk on his face. “She aint gon win this.”

“Objection your honor.” Josh’s lawyer said as he stood up. “Ms Porter has been helping take care of Xavier since he was almost two years old. Xavier views Ms Porter as his mother and nothing is being done out of spite.”

The judge held up her hand, signaling Josh’s lawyer to stop talking. “I’ve honestly heard enough. And I’ve made my decision. I’m granting full custody to Mr. Fatu and supervised visits with Ms Morgan only if Xavier wants. Court is adjourned.”

Josh let out a sigh of relief, all this bullshit with Ximena was finally over and he could focus all his attention back on Janelle, Xavier and the baby. He stood up and walked over to Janelle and Xavier, picking him up and pulling Janelle into a hug with them.

“I want my visits Joshua, I want to get to know my son.” Josh sighed and turned to face her. Janelle took Xavier and left the courtroom with Jon and Trin.

“You heard the judge only if Xavier wants. I’m not going to force him.” Josh said before walking away.

• kara jackson - Why Does The Earth Give Us People To Love? - FORMER YOUTH POET LAUREATE KARA JACKSON!!! released an album and it is a delight. the lyrics the voice the instrumentation is all *chefs kiss*. deceptively simple elements coming together to make something so special - really transporting, emotional and melodic. great for ruminating on your life or your own original ideas. OVER. EAR. HEADPHONES. REQUIRED.

• Holiday Sounds of Josh Rouse - josh rouse is a lovely (tbh i know nothing about the man besides his music so he could potentially not be lovely i dont know this person at all but BASED ON MY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE of his delightful music he seems nice) man who makes brazilian/bossa inspired music. I really love his holiday album that contains some christmas stuff and some more generalized holiday music. It's all ORIGINAL holiday songs which can be hard to pull off but i think you will find at least one new classic on here to listen to every year in the winter time. my favorites are Mediterranean X-Mas and Easy Man :)

More of me running my mouth about music as inspiration except this time its just Dear Wormwood

Prelude. Prelude. PRELUDE. This is probably just a music nerd thing but its so perfect. Despite my horrible understanding of music theory, a prelude is usually the first piece of music that is meant to represent the succeeding and usually longer movements in a single work, but they could also stand alone. The Prelude to Dear Wormwood works as both. It starts out quiet before building up with just absolutely amazing wordless vocals and its just so great folks. Its a summary of the whole album in a minute and nine seconds its amazing folks

Okay Bitter Water. The first time I heard this one I thought oh, its a metaphor for alcoholism. Yes, it can be a metaphor for alcoholism, but it is also so much more. In the broader context of Dear Wormwood its an acknowledgement of how bad a relationship is and that the singer, the victim, feels like they can never escape it, but it can be so much more folks. It can be a about a love lost, with the one who lost the love pining and wasting away without their soulmate. Said soulmate could be a part of the griever themself. It can be so much. Its also a banger but thats a given for the whole album. “terrible fire of old regret is honey on my tongue” is also eternally amazing this whole thing is poetry mates

There Beneath. Calm and flowy and existential kind of but I make a lot of things existential and where were we? But also the line “I saw the morning lead a cavalcade” is bloody amazing. Its such a great and poetic way to describe the breaking dawn, the rising sun, the beginning of a new day and so many other things mates its amazing. Like a veteran adventurer recalling the times when their friends got them out of hard scrapes or something idk

In the Blue Hours of the Morning. It’s a nice waypoint, a chance to catch your breath before the next song which I will go off about but this bit is really just like its title. The time before the cavalcade, when theres still enough light to see by yet its so calm and still and not quite awake yet

Exeunt, which is. It is. Well, exactly what it says on the tin, an exeunt, which is a stage direction for when an actor goes off stage, but its also the most poetry ever. Everyone loves “Fluttering your lashes like ashes and ember” and rightfully so but everything in that song is so bloody strong. “Crocodile eyes I have seen how you hunger”???? “No I cannot trust what you say when youre grieving”????? Like its such a powerful song with all the musicians going ham on the everything and then the lyrics and then the context? Its great its just great

Caesar. A calm follow-up to the headbanger that is Exeunt, but its no less amazing. Im just drowning in symbolism for this one mates. Not only is the morning back and breaking over a palisade but also historical references!?! The backlogs of random anecdotes and stories are tickled awake by the “Look to the sky where the sign will be shown” bit so much like it aint even funny. Its a reference to Constantine the Great, who saw the symbol of the Chi Rho and went on to become roman emperor with it painted on his shields and its so much potential in just three stanzas

This Will End. Fellows this one just hurts. Its so bloody sad and yet such a strangely jaunty tune like the singer has just accepted their sad life and Im always like no! It can get better! You just gotta try a bit! Mates! Im bleeding out!

Pale White Horse. Ohhhhhhhhhh I can get so deep about Pale White Horse but so much of it is about WWI and the Spanish Flu Epidemic and other stuff I do not care to dredge from the depths of my historical brain fluids but its so great as a thing about war and trauma and abuse and so much other stuff just like recognizing someone doing something terrible and that can be either interpreted as oh thats conformation that they were always terrible or oh goodness thats not possible why no why are you like this you are not like this right and there’s no in between. And both hurt!

Where Is Your Rider. Enough metaphors to fill a graveyard (hey Crane Wives fans. Hey. Did you get it? Eh? Idk I thought it was funny) and then some but also oooooh the lines just go so hard sometimes. “But these bones never rested while living / So how can they stand to languish in repose”???????? Like mate youre dead but youre still going to push on and keep on fighting mates it hurts it hurts too much there are too many characters and situations and just stray thoughts I can peg to these two lines alone help

Soldier, Poet, King. Need I say more? Yes, I need to say more. Everyone above and below knows how bloody legendary this song is but take this as a sign to listen to it again. Its just that good. Someone once tired and broken who has found support and is coming back to finish the job they couldnt finish on their own is just oooooooooooooogh mates. Also funny ha ha DND party. Two sides of the same polyhedral dice. Probably a d100 with all the nonsense I can drag out of it at this point.

Dear Wormwood. The album namer. UGH I cannot get enough of this one. Just some of the lines in this one mates. “And in my hour of weakness / You were there to see me fail”???????? “I know who I am now / I know who I wanna be / I wanna be more than / That devil inside of me”??????????????????? Its just so perfect and so amazing and it gives you a warn hug and it punches you in the gut and it helps you up and gives you hot tea and the works mates its just so great

Danse Macabre. One last instrumental. A Danse Macabre was usually a piece of art with people dancing next to skeletons, representing the inevitability of death and the equality in the grave and so many other sad and mopey things but also its just such a fun jig. It really does feel like a bunch of spooky scary skeletons jamming on their graves. And that’s a one liner I never thought Id need to write.

Thus Always to Tyrants. Bloody hell this is the perfect ending song. The singer immediately starting off with “Let me die, let me drown, leave my bones in the ground”, proclaiming themselves free of the worries and pains they started the album with, singing as the blazing sun rises that yes, they are, if not happy now, then at least better now, and that anyone who threatens that will face the new and improved them is just ooooooogh. Mates. If theres one song you need to listen to if you somehow made it to the end of this thingie without also being obsessed with the Oh Hellos, its Thus Always to Tyrants. But please listen to the whole of Dear Wormwood first. It makes the impact so much better.

miles to me seems like a future, frank ocean, kendrick lamar, steve lacy, PARTYNEXTDOOR, brent faiyaz/sonder and a lil sza, cuz lets be fr, its sza, kinda guy. he's the kinda guy to love music for the meaning, as long as its got a good beat to it. now, song wise?

solo by future, for sure. you can just listen to it and be like "yeah, thats miles." especially the lyrics, "i been solo now, i've been goin solo now". reminds me when he says "nah, ima do my own thing" in the movie.

her way by partynextdoor. this song feels like a song he'd play while he's drawing (coughs, drawing gwen for the 70th time) the lyrics, "She wasn't on a roll, now she roll with a winner" reminds me of gwen n miles cuz at first, when they met, it was kind of just the two of em, but now she's out with the spider society (well, she was) with hobie and patvir, "rollin with winners."

miles + brent faiyaz = perfection. needed portrays miles when he finds out about his friends' betrayal perfectly. "you and your friends, rammed my name to the ground." makes you think about the scene where he realises they knew what would happen to his father all along.

infrunami by steve lacy. ive seen this on tiktok too many dayum times not to include it lmaoo gwen and miles. every word of that song screams gwen and miles, but esp "can you come back to me? cuz I was blind to see that you were right infront of me." just remember that scene where miles was upside down infront of gwen and moved closer to kiss her but didnt cuz he was invisible? yeah, those exact lyrics match that exact moment and we ALL know it!

Just a Touch : Rough Night Soldier?

Summery : Arthur is in a daze after disposing a 'rat' in Tommy's request and ended up in front of his friends apartment.

'Rough night soldier?'

The comforting smell of burnt wood, tobacco and jasmine waken Arthur's tired eyes. Unbeknownst to him, his body took itself to the front steps of a familiar friend's apartment and now he's sitting on the sofa with a hand covered in blood, not his ofcourse.

"Aye" he couldn't bring himself to look anywhere but his shaking bloody hands. Another job to take care off, another body to dispose and another maddening night.

A warm towel envelopes his hands, scrubbing it off the remains of his victim. A victim to his viciousness with a beating pulse and a life, but of course anyone who dares cross the Shelbys will face the consequences. Even if their only sin is to breath at their direction.

'Heads up, let me clean your face!'

He does as he's told, like always, from his father, his comander and now his brother.

It's for the good of the family, sacrifices have to be made, they will all reap the reward in the end. But every time he follows orders, why is he in a deeper pit then the rest? It's so dark

'Hello *snap* *snap* Art!! Don't daydream too much or a spirit will posses your body'

A small chuckle escape his thin dry lips. His friend sometimes have the same superstition as his aunt. How interesting that two people from each end of the earth would have the same believes.

"Don't worry mate, I'm already the devil yeah? No spirits will possess me" He laughs as the other scoffs

'Should have known the only way for you to wake up is to make fun of me' as a revenge the man Infront of him scrub his face HARD and a white shirt is thrown onto his lap as his companion plops onto the space besides him. Watching him

'Thats the last good shirt I have this week before laundry day. You better not come here dirty again!'

This is they're new routine now. Arthur would come to his friends house either drunk, high, in a trance or all three at once and his companion would take care of him until the song bird calls for his return.

He would feel guilty about using his kindess like this but it doesn't seem like the other man mind . So he assumes he's welcome anyways.

When Arthur finish putting on a shirt a loud coughing followed by a puff of heavy dark smoke emits from his companions mouth.

'SHIT'

Another laugh comes from Arthur this time with a booming sound

"HAHAHA Your really bad with cigars eh?"

'SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU PRICK, this shit is strong'

Arthur's snatch the fat cigars from his friends fingers and takes a long hard suck as the heavy smoke travels his lungs, coating his lounge. He puffs out slowly but surely, the kiss of death.

"This shit! Is for real men. Not like yours small ones"

'Whatever Art' he snatches back the cigar he lit and tries to do the same but failing at the last second and was mocked again with the chuckle of the moustached men as they countine to share the cigar between eachother.

Nights like these would make him forget what he was doing just 5 hours ago. It's certainly no Tokyo but it does the trick and usually leave no side effects. Just two best friends together in a smoke filled room, alone.

"Do you think I'll ever be normal?"

'There aints such thing as normal Art. Just work with what you have and try to move forward'

"But what if I'm tired? What if I don't want to move forward? I can't shut the door like Tommy tells me to do?"

'Then you fix the hinge, oil it up and air out the smoke once in awhile. It's not like a door is just for closing'

With that comment, finally every thread in Arthur's body snapped. Another booming laugh emerge, what a stupid thing to say. Tears and sobs accompany his laughter he couldn't stop himself its almost hysterical. The dam is broken and everything is on fire.

'Uh..Art.. the Cigar?"

The last light of the cigar finally went out, burning Arthur's finger in the process but the man was too caught up in tears to react as his companion hold his burnt fingers and rubs it with his own. Arthur laughed and cried for a long time that night and through it his friend didn't say a word while calming the wound. And for that Arthur never felt more thankful.

Notes : YEEHAW!! I hoped you all understand my incoherent writing. I wrote this as I was waiting for my lecturer to come for assistances. I have not sleep and I crave Arthur. YEEHEE!!! 🍉🍉🍉 Also I have no idea the differences of the different smokes, just pulling it out of my ass.

Sometimes I want to write a sims story but I just canNOT... I seriously despise writing dialogue, I'm more of a descriptive writer, and that's kind of at odds with everything a sims story is lol. the visuals are already laid out, so the writing part is more focused on the dialogue. what your sims say and how and when they say it is just so important. Its more akin to like, script writing and film/TV to me. But maybe that's just the more modern trend. I remember when sims stories were more, a few pics for emphasis and then a shit ton of writing at the bottom of the post (the actual story), and I prefer that for the most part (unless someone is just excellent at the previous method with super interesting fleshed out characters, cinamun for example 🙏). But I feel like the text heavy format is less trendy/aesthetically pleasing and that's why there's less of it now. To be honest, a lot of sims stories i see in the mainly edit + dialogue format just run together for me and don't feel interesting. Theres a lot of bloom and their sims are super pretty because of the editing but I'm like... idk it just doesn't stand out to my brain. I just feel like in the majority I see its just yeah everyone's depressed and breaking up or something (seriously, its always a break up post or a couple having issues haha) and idk their names or traits but I hope it goes well for them ig. you put some bendy looking text on every screenshot and its lyrics to a sad song that reflects your sims breakup oh thats groundbreaking lol. Before anyone starts tho, I think those stories are good and I aint hating, everyone should do what they want and not worry about pleasing old fucks like me for sure. Best believe I was writing those sad songfics myself back in the day (always my immortal by evanescence of course!). You better write what you wanna write and feel good doing it. It is an art within itself and theres nothing wrong with that style, yall are really good at it. Its just not really my personal taste is all. And if anyone has any suggestions for stories that are more text heavy id love to check them out. I'd love to see one a little less focused on romance only if there's any out there. Or maybe some more comedic stories rather than depressing? But I know the story community is as small as its ever been so there might not be any. Idk, don't take this too seriously its just my random thoughts. But I'm curious to know what yall think/prefer and any recs if you have any.

Patience by Guns N Roses can be 2 things. Either Curly missing his partner in the reformitory, or Sodapop missing his family and his partner at war. But with Soda's, theres a follow up. November Rain by Guns N Roses. Patience isnt that sad, but with November Rain paired to it makes the song sadder. But, we can make this even more depressing with Live and Let Die. Specifically with Pre Chorus and Chorus. I just- augh. My mind cant quite with imaginging Curly sitting around in the reformitory, thinking about his lovely partner. I find it sweet. (Im personally imagining his lovely partner as Loop.) And with Sodapop? Him pulling out pictures of his brothers, his friends, and his girl everynight before bed. He thinks to himself "For them. Thats why im doing this." And it scares him that he wont be able to see them again, but he imagines hugging his brothers when returning home. He imagines cracking a beer with the boys and seeing the smiles on their faces when hes returned home. He's probably called his lovely partner when he can, and always says "We just need a little patience." Months pass while he was drafted, and he gets shot on the battlefield. His mind wonders back to his brothers, upset that he has to leave them behind especially after Johnny and Dallas. One day, theres a knock on The Curtis door. 2 Soldiers, both in formal unforms. No one ever knocks on the door, but Steve answers it. "Hello. This is the Curtis residence, correct? We are on the behlaf of the United States Army. May we come in?" They say, and Steve nods as he lets them in. Ponyboy, who was laying on the couch, sits up and turns off the TV. "Are you Darrel Curtis?" An officer asked Steve, to which he shook his head. "No, he's not here right now. He's working." "Please, call him. Its important that all close kin are here. When Darry arrived at his house, he wasnt expecting two military officers to be in his living room. "Darrel Curtis?" An officer asked, to which Darry slowly nodded "Whats going on?" "Please, sit down." Darry complied, wearily. "I am Corpral Jones, and this is Private Staples. " He finally introduced themselves as they both stood infront of the group of boys. "The commandant of the United States Army has entrusted us to express his deep regret that your brother, Sodapop Curtis, was killed in action in Veitnam. " "Live and let die"
