Hey guys! I know I've been popping in rarely to say hi, but I've been so inactive I thought I'd give a little more extensive update.

I didn't wind up getting that job I was talking about (yet? I haven't technically been rejected but ya know how it is these days...), but I have been focusing a lot on other work. I'm not going to go into the details for their privacy, but I have a second dependent now and the need for money to support them + lack of ability to be on the computer much means I haven't really had any time for sims at all. I'm hoping that will change soon as I get an older computer fixed up for them to use so I can get back to mine now and again, because I really miss making cc and talking with yall!

I'm not gonna lie, the financials have been really, really tight with all this + some attorney fees for a separate issue related to my father's passing (fraud & negligence, to say the least) and stress has been high. And yet, at the same time, I feel like I've been a lot happier since I've been medicated and spending more time with family. So, it's overall a bit up and down lol. I feel like sims would be a comfort to me as it always has been, especially now that there's nothing financial directly linked with it, but it's just a matter of finding the time honestly.

I have the set I was working on in February about halfway done, and I think it wouldn't take long for me to finish it now that I have most of the base meshes finished. When I get PC time, that's the first thing I'm gonna do :) also, if there's anything that needs to be updated/fixed, please let me know- I'm not up to date on any patches obv or anything that has happened here in the last few months, but if something broke, I'll get to it as soon as I can!

I'm more of a red/wine/berry color type of person and I'm curious about others preferences! I can't find a nude that looks good on me for the life of me lol. Or a pink. Not that I can afford any right now 😂 but we dream. Has anyone tried Mac lipstick in Mehr? Or charlotte tilbury's pillowtalk (or dupes bc that price is cray)? They look pretty but idkkkk. I keep trying lip stains but I think I'm more of a bullet lipstick fan overall... old school lol.

Hello nonny, I appreciate your perspective and for the record: no, in no way do I think innocent Israeli civilians are undeserving of help. The problem with Overwolf is that they aren't disclosing what they're doing clearly & there's no way of truly knowing what the money is going towards. The FAQ is vague, and Overwolf already admitted to wanting to donate to specifically military efforts in the beginning before suddenly switching to Home Support.

It's difficult to trust a company that is wishy washy and non-transparent, and it's especially difficult to trust one that calls concerns of this nature "drama". I fully believe that civilians such as yourself deserve help, but it's always important to hold charities under strict scrutiny due to rampant fraud and misappropriation of funds, and myself as well as many others simply do not trust Overwolf. Charities must be audited and, as far as I know, that information is not available to us at this time and Overwolf has not offered it.

I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you the best. I hope you're able to get in a better situation soon.

So fucking condescending and straight up evil to call people's concerns over possibly funding genocide "drama". Saying to fact-check while conveniently avoiding very specific facts themselves. People should definitely fact-check and not harass anyone, I've been saying that over and over, but they're pointedly deflecting and lying by omission here. And contributing to creators staying silent by telling them to stay out of the "drama" and implying they'll be harassed. Extremely manipulative.

...Okay, first of all, this whole statement is sadly nothing but them taking the same exact route as before: misdirecting & changing the narrative to only be about "victims" when their Home Support initiative is partnered with the ILF, an openly Zionist organization. This isn't about innocent parties only when they're partnered with an organization that contributes directly towards IDF Military Intelligence. All of the money from the fund goes to the ILF's bank account to distribute, per their own FAQ page. And even without that, the association alone is enough to boycott. Overwolf and Curseforge cannot be "clean of politics" while their CEO partners with and therefore directly supports Zionist parties.

This statement overall stinks because it puts the blame fully onto people with legitimate concerns by calling them all harassers. Have some people gone too far towards creators? 100%. I know that well. But Overwolf is clearly using that to deflect off of themselves, and this is why it never should have been done in the first place. Y'all focused on the wrong shit- the smaller targets instead of the big ones, and the wrong claim that they're directly funding the IDF with CF revenue, and now they're doing exactly what I said they would: once again using the fact that that's not technically true to weasel out of people's concerns. They even directly call out the fact that it's misinformation like I said they would! They clarified fucking nothing, they repeated the same shit they already said because they know they can. We need to change the focus of the boycott so that they are forced to address their actual wrongdoing! Tbh adrien's meshes are notoriously bad in general 💀 even the shirts are square af no matter what sim they're on. I would be shocked if any of his cc fit a sim correctly. It's made so fast and so sloppily it's almost impressive.

Whereas sforz and cas are just better at making content in general. The lesson here is probably for people to get better at making cc instead of whining that it's impossible and blaming it on custom presets. It's not impossible, you just have to learn how to make it correctly.

It's the same kind of thing with makeup that doesn't work with all skintones. People make it lazily and then complain it's impossible to cater to darker skintones and cc skintones that are necessary for many POC just like custom body shapes. But it's not impossible to make makeup that works for all, they just don't want to put the effort in and/or don't have the skills.

I know most cc creating these days is motivated by money, and so people prioritize quantity over quality and rarely put more than the bare minimum of time into it. But it doesn't take much extra effort to make the cc inclusive. If you don't know how right now, it's okay, no one knows everything instantly- just take the time to learn. Instead of blaming it on people that need cc to accurately represent themselves.

I don't have a story post today because of a series of unfortuante events yesterday, but you know what I do have? I have my bullshit, and I'm back on it.

Remember last year during BHM (late January so pre-BHM ig) when I said y'alls favorite maxis match creators were bogus for meshes that break apart on fat booties? Y'all got so mad that you called Hope's body "lumpy and jagged" even though we all know Hope isn't lumpy or jagged anywhere and it turned into anti-Blackness when the conversation shifted into custom bodyshapes and how I will never NOT use a custom bodyshape as long as people like afrosimtricsims make them specifically for Black women's bodies.

This is when I also coined the term "assphobic", no regrets. I even created a lookbook because so many simmers were hitting me up asking where I find clothes to fit these bodyshapes because CLEARLY, I was saying the quiet shit out loud.

Anyway, people got blocked, showed their true colors all to suck up to these really long early access creators or, you know, to prove to simblr that they hate Black women's bodies.

Idk if others have already posted about this, but The Henford Hen on Twitter has created a petition asking the Sims team to collaborate with black cc creators to implement makeup that is compatible and functional with darker skin tones. As we all know, a lot of the makeup we currently have is not compatible with darker skintones, even with the implementation of sliders. They've been working with cc creators more frequently, so this is definitely a doable request from the community.
