Hilda: This is a lovely dinner, Mum.

Kaisa: Yes, it’s been so long since I’ve had a good home cooked meal of this quality.

Johanna: Oh thanks. I have dessert baking but I need to get the last part of it. I didn’t realize that I didn’t have it until it was too late and then you arrived and it would’ve been rude to make you wait longer.

Kaisa: It’s fine, I wish I’d known so that I could’ve gotten it on the way.

Johanna: Oh no no, I’ll deal it, it won’t take that long to pop in the store, if you don’t mind watching Hilda for a bit.

Kaisa: I can do that.

Hilda: I could go instead.

Johanna: No, I don’t want to risk you getting distracted by some creature and you then using what I sent you for to solve the problem.

Hilda: That’s only happened (begins counting on her fingers)………okay, I see your point.

Johanna: I’ll be back before you know it. Take care.

[Hilda and Kaisa say their farewells but as soon as the door closes, Hilda turns towards Kaisa]

Hilda: Just so you know, I have a lot of friends.

Kaisa: Frida and David, I know.

Hilda: No, I mean, Trolls, Giants, Elves, The Great Raven, a Lindworm, just to name a few. And I can call in a favor whenever I need to.

Kaisa: Are…are you threatening me?

Hilda: Are you going to break my Mum’s heart?

Kaisa: No.

Hilda: Then, no.

[Johanna comes back in with a small bag and heads to the kitchen to finish dessert]

Johanna: It’ll be ready soon, so what did my two favorite people talk about while I was gone?

Hilda: I was just telling Kaisa about my friends.

Johanna: But she already knows about Frida and David.

Hilda: Yes, but I thought she should know more about my friends.

Kaisa: Hilda was most informative about them.

aghhh i’ve been thinking about the httyd books again and how Absolutely Insane they are…. i ADORE watching people react to them because there’s this one point in the series where everything just feels different. and they don’t give you time to process what on earth happened before launching you head first full speed into one of the best pieces of literature i think i’ve ever read

#i think the point in the series where something ‘changes’ is when we first meet excellinor #as soon as her presence is felt theres just something looming over the rest of the events #that feeling is more prominent when we meet furious too #for the rest of the book theres just something There. something isnt quite right bc what the fuck did we just read #and then all the books following that are DIFFERENT and book 9 (i cant remember if this is there for the other books)#has a warning at the beginning??? like. hey. shit has changed.#and btw these books do an Amazing job at describing fear #the scene with hiccup in the tree trying to escape the witch is chilling #the audiobooks only enhance it #httyd books #how to train your dragon #how to break a dragon's heart #also im making a post ab this later but this was all inspired bc i read the little short side books #and i was really startled when i finished how to train your viking - a mostly light hearted book #and then went into the day of the dreader and it casually informed us that everyone on berk was slowly starving to death WHAT???#its been so long since ive experienced that kind of whiplash from these books it had me a little :’)

I like your headcanon about Joshua Graham but I think it has been confirmed that the reason his face is not visibly burned was due to engine limitations. But don’t let that stop you! I think it’s a good headcanon!

As a long-time fan and someone SUPER interested in games, I get that logically, it's a game limitation.

(which has always been strange as hell to me considering they could do ghoul faces, but it may have been a bandage texture VS facial texture overlap issue and they could've easily modelled what little we see to have the scarring, but I digress)

I'm glad you think it's a good HC, and honestly, whenever I give something in anything a headcanon, unless I say otherwise, I'm thinking about it in-universe!

I like toying with the ideas of realistic experiences, and given what I know about being burned (a lot, oddly enough, partially from experience), I can say pretty well that it's logical that he wouldn't be thoroughly burned the same way, especially if he was burned in whatever outfit he was wearing.

That can change EVERYTHING pretty much entirely, worsening burns or protecting the flesh some, depending on what it is/material/etc!

Being doused in pitch and lit on fire is something that'll likely be done sporadically. Someone typically pours it over the head, and it drips down, perhaps over the nose and lips, but not really over the face so much, and splashes it across the stomach and legs, soaking those above all else.

So honestly? His face probably would be fine in-game, regardless of whether or not my HC came about because of stupid little NPC details I noticed back in 2011 😂

Though, this also leads me to think he probably has trouble walking too quickly if his legs were targeted as is typical 🤔

I actually hope hunter doesnt find out about calebs heel turn towards befriending witches. Or at least, he doesnt find out about that until he accepts that its okay if hes a clone of a witch hunter.

I want hunters realization that hes a Good Person, Actually to come from understanding that sharing genes with someone doesnt mean you inherit their bad qualities. And that he's free to choose whether or not to be like his predecessors. I dont want it to come from him learning that caleb is Good, Actually, and have that mean hes automatically destined to be good like caleb

rewatching 'something blue' 4x09 and it hits me how it foreshadowes willow's descent into madness in s6. in both she feels so alone she cannot bear it, has been left by her significant other, is using magic irresponsibly, fueling power on her own dark emotions, d'hoffryn in something blue says her pain was as piercing as a scream. magic is already a coping mechanism!! she snaps at people and has mood swings!! the seeds were already planted long ago!! warning they bear fruit!!
