Both groups are aware that something is suspicious, but don't know how to approach it when considering all of the other strange things currently occurring within Hisui and the interests of their individual clans.
Akari forms separate bonds with both brothers as she investigates who they are and what they mean to each other, but will it be too late to bring them back together after months of secrecy and poor communication? Or can Ingo and Emmet's brotherly bond endure even through hardships beyond what they ever could have imagined before?

request: May I ask for headcanons or drabbles (whatever you find easiest) for how different pokehybrid characters react to their s/o (or even crush) reciprocating or initiating courting behaviours of their hybrid pokemon? Maybe crush is trying to drop hints or s/o is trying to make them feel loved.
mating behaviours.......
cw: fluff, slight sex mentions (nothing explicit), pokehybrid au,
characters: Larry, Ingo, Emmet, Cyrus, N
💼Staraptor Larry🏢
🍙 Staraptors mating behaviours were usually odd. Countless steep dives and manoeuvres during flights while making loud calls for a mate. Not exactly things humans really did for one another. Larry appreciated that. He did not like having to get all involved like that, despite his obvious avian features. It was simpler to ask someone out for coffee or lunch. Of course, that did not mean he was above such things. The urge to do those grand displays bothered him more often than he would like to admit, but he simply ignores it. That was his go-to strategy typically. Well, it was, until you handed him a blanket out of the blue one day.
🍙 His mind raced with many possibilities. What could this mean? It smelled of you. Had you been using it? It was soft. Perfect for a hybrids nest. He stood unmoving and staring forward with an empty gaze. Was this… Was this a mating gift? He could hardly believe such a thing. Him? Surely, there must have been better options out in Paldea. You insisted that he keep the blanket when he tried to return it to you. His heart raced. Keep it? Could he? That felt wrong. (He would.)
🍙 You felt a bit bewildered when you later got asked out on a date by Larry but accepted nonetheless. It seemed your gift had made him happier than you expected. You had just been worried about him staying warm during these colder months. There was a surprise when you saw in wedged into a nest on his bed on a later date. It was only then that you realised that he had taken your offer as a mating request. Well, at least it worked out for you in the end, you supposed. Larry adored that blanket, too.
▲Frosmoth Ingo▼
● The human world often proved itself to be one of many scents. Some of which terrified him off or lulled him in, depending on what unfortunate part of his insectoid brain it activated. Ingo had learnt to deal with them for the most part. He was not some mindless moth who barely had over a week to live and mate – He was part human. A smell was just a smell. He was lucky to have an actual sinus system rather than just using in antennae to sense pheromones like his pokemon counterparts. Which is why he felt so embarrassed after you greeted him on the street smelling of one of the sweetest scents that he would ever know. Something so pleasant that he knew if Emmet were near that he would beg for a piece of whatever it was.
● You were sweaty, which obviously should have counteracted the sweet scent, and he felt bewildered. He stood there with his four arms crossed and tilting his head. Even his antennae detected the pheromones in the air. His brain almost pleaded with him to receive your apparent call for him. You tilted your head when he stood there frozen and eyes staring into space. Tapping his shoulder lightly, you heard his wings rub together and make a squeaking sound. Ingo forced himself to calm down. You could not release a Frosmoth pheromone. It was a foolish thought. He softly removed your hand and began conversing normally. His own feelings should not be forced onto you, even if they were related to you.
● You both would laugh at it later when it turned out that you had actually been trying something that you had read online about humans making pheromones similar to horny Frosmoths after a workout. Ingo felt extra flustered by it. Then you made it worse by telling him that you had hoped it would have encouraged him to confess to you after you two were dating. His wing squeaks were almost as loud as his voice.
▽Galvantula Emmet△
○ Galvantulas had very unusual mating habits when compared to humans. Emmet was aware of many differences from what Ingo had told him. For one, human females did not tend to eat their mates. In fact, that was a crime, actually. Humans also did not weave webs laden with pheromones that alerted others that they were ready to mate. They did not do mating dances, either. Emmet, however, cared little for human traditions. In his brain, when he saw you, there was an urge to do a mating dance, so he did. And you sat bewildered by the giant spider man's movements.
○ Your completely silence and staring during his dance almost emboldened him. That meant you were interested, right? That was what female Galvantula did when they were consenting to a mating. But, before he could pounce on you, he recalled your more fragile form. He verrrry much did not want to do any harm to you, so he instead approached you carefully. Before he could ask you whether you were ready, you just tilted your head and asked him what that was. His heart broke. You did not understand. He ran away back to his web to mope, while you just remained confused by everything.
○ Ingo had to politely explain what Emmet was trying to initiate and essentially confess later when you asked him about it. Needless to say, you returned and talked it over with the saddened Galvantula hybrid. When you explain that you were just confused by it and not agreeing to a mating, he seemed more upset but calmed down when you assured him that you did have feelings for him. In the end, you were pulled into a web and cuddled by a fluffy spider. What more could anyone want?
🌌Houndoom Cyrus🛰
☄️ Cyrus was fully aware of his more uncivilised side's mating behaviours. A male and female joined up, usually while the female was in heat, and thus began a new pack together with the result pups. He, however, was raised as a human. Such behaviours were entirely beneath him. The Galactic Boss was not going to be driven by any desires. His goal was simple and plain. Momentary lapses in judgment could be corrected in the future. Which is why he tried so desperately to repress whatever feeling you had forced out of him by making a serving of your cooking for him.
☄️ The blue-haired man took the food, as he was raised to be polite. You then sat across from him at the table and smiled at him. Sharing a meal… He tried to ignore the ridiculous instincts that sought to push through his logical side. You had made him lunch and were eating it with him. It was a meeting between comrades. Nothing more. You were completely unaware of Houndoom mated behaviours. This was mere coincidence. He almost ground his teeth in frustration. Your cooking was good, too. Cyrus felt unbearably out of control. Soon, he made an excuse to depart and vanished to be alone for a few hours.
☄️ Later, when you miraculously managed to end up in a relationship with an emotionally constipated man, you ended up reading about Houndoom behaviours to try to better understand him. When you reached the part about food division among wild packs, the odd situation re-entered your mind. Oh. You had. A laugh left you at the realisation. Poor Cyrus must have seen it as a mating gesture. He did not appreciate your discovery of this.
🌿Zoroark N👑
🟢 Zoroark mating behaviour was similar to many other canid pokemon behaviours. Packs exist, which most consist of two parent Zoroarks and their many offspring. Every so often they made more social groups where a few came together to protect dens, but usually, it was two Zoroark. It was hard for humans to purposefully imitate any Zoroark mating behaviours, too. Zoroark hybrids, of course, had the unfortunate best of both worlds. Offering food was a sign of mating to Zoroarks but to humans it was a thing done even among friends. N had trouble navigating many human relationships at the best of times. At the worst, he felt conflicted by you wanting to cuddle up to him.
🟢 While humans did it all the time and Zoroarks could even do it amicably sometimes, he felt confused. Especially when you wanted to sleep beside him, too. Granted, you both were camping, but he felt confused by what all this meant. You laid almost with your back pressed against his as he debated what any of this could mean. It caused him so much confused that he could barely sleep that night, ironically ending up almost on guard over you. He politely tried speaking about it with you in the morning, desperately wanting to clear up whatever was going on.
🟢 You proceeded to become just as bewildered as him. Apparently, you had thought that you were being obvious that you liked him. He blinked a few times and just nodded. N liked you, too. This worked out. Less confusion. You were doing human mating tactics, and he now understood. The green-haired man was now your mate, rejoice. (Please explain to him what flirting is.)

Pardon us Boss, but we've been thinking about the Phione Ingo branch off of your Phione!Akari AU- are we permitted to write a wee bit of angst concerning it? Nothing solid at the moment because too many ideas, and we wished to ask for permission first.
In fact on that same note- may we know angst limitations? So if we are permitted to write what we're thinking, we can commit to all safety checks and stay behind the yellow line.
We know that the main au is preferred, but can't help but be curious- do you have any stray thoughts about this branch off? Random things that have come to mind? We enjoy hearing about all of it really, your mind is truly exemplary. We do not want this message to be terribly long, otherwise we would write down some thoughts we've had ourselves. Perhaps in the next one.
A pleasure, as always, Boss!
- The Zoroark Skulk
Hello!! Thank you for asking!!
It would certainly be allowed and I’m honored you want to write something about it ;w; as for angst limitations, I’m unsure what you’re thinking about doing so I can’t say for sure, but just in general for reference, I’m uncomfortable with heavy/detailed/prolonged gore or death, or bad endings that imply it only continues or gets worse. I can’t think of anything else that bothers me at the moment in regards to angst, so if it’s not those, it’s good!!
I admit this variation of the AU is not nearly as fleshed out haha. But I’ve had some thoughts on it before, and I just thought on it a little more to add some details:
- the incident happens when, opposite of the Phione Akari AU, Ingo does go with Akari to find Manaphy.
-Akari is unable to catch Manaphy, who flees from the cavern. Manaphy bumps into Ingo, who is waiting outside the cavern. Surprises Manaphy into a heart attack, and gets heartswapped.
-Akari finds both of them (she thought they had all left, but at least a Phione is still here to catch!). She doesn’t know they heartswapped, they’re just both unconscious. FREAKS OUT. She has Braviary take them to Galaxy Hall to get Ingo(Phione) to Pesselle while she tends to Phione(Ingo).
-She brings Ingo back to consciousness, who is rightfully confused and horrified. By the time she goes to check back on ‘Ingo’, Pesselle says he woke up and left in a hurry before she could calm him down; he was freaked out.
-now Akari is stuck with this Phione that is all over the place, and is SO LOUD, always making noises at her and constantly looking distressed. And it refuses to be caught in a pokeball; it dodges every time she tries.
-Akari thinks Ingo ran off because he was concerned that she was still at the sea cavern; he was unconscious at the time anyways, he didn’t know! He probably ran back to find her! She goes looking for him (and while she’s not too worried at first, as the days go by she will become terrified something happened).
-Seeing him as only a tiny, squishy sea creature who’s defenseless, Akari treats Ingo like a baby and shows him off like one to people, as she does with all of her small, cute pokemon. Ingo loathes it. SHE DOES NOT KNOW AND SHE’S ABSOLUTELY MORTIFIED WHEN SHE FINDS OUT LATER.
-Also, as a Phione, the gem on Ingo’s chest is his up triangle symbol to distinguish him.
Tumblr media
I hope that’s a good amount of detail for you!! Thank you so much for asking and being interested!! ^^

▽ Adoptable Joltik  - Sidetracked Events⚡️
I added a 7-event (more like 3, really) storyline included as an update to the Adoptable Joltik mod. It consists of Emmet not taking loss well. He misses his Joltik. He doesn't want to bother you about it. He will get back on track eventually.
These play when you enter the backwoods/mountain pass between 6:00 and 10:00 AM after seeing the adoption event and have at least 8 hearts with Joltik. Enter the mountains at the same time for the 5th event (with Ingo). Each event unlocks a new line of daily dialogue from Joltik and starts a cooldown for the next event to not start until after 4 days. The final (7th) event requires 9 hearts with Joltik.
As always... Commentary under the read-more.
▷ Station Steward Thylak
This update didn't really have any planning. It was a spontaneous decision to make more events and all the content was written as I coded so it's a bit rougher than previous events.
I've been wanting to update the Joltik mod to use Emmet's new recolored spritesheet and lock adoptability behind 8 hearts as intended (and also... fix the event requirements since I realized it was set to 10 hearts instead of 8... oops). The file was also zipped in a way that removed the containing folder so it made using mod loaders like Stardrop and Vortex more finicky.
If you've already seen the adoption event, there wouldn't be much incentive for downloading an update since Emmet doesn't appear outside of events. I'm not ready to release him as a full NPC to the general public just yet! His heart events are still broken. I dread going back and fixing them. I got a bit burnt out from working through my backlog of things to do for the mod and wanted to switch tracks from pixel art (so many portraits...). Eventing is my favorite thing to do regarding the mod, so I decided to make more events to include in the update as a break of sorts (not working on the mod? Taking an actual break? Why, I'd never!). More events are the perfect solution for me wanting to show off the new art for Subway to Stardew while also not implementing submas as full NPCs in the Joltik mod.
I could make Emmet's 9-heart event but... I feel like that's more of a Subway to Stardew thing than an Adoptable Joltik thing... if that makes any sense. I might include it later when I get around to writing/coding it, but I thought it would be a bit abrupt to add in the Joltik mod since you don't really get to befriend Emmet as intended there. There's also some people who aren't obsessed with submas and do download the Joltik mod for well, Joltik! Only Joltik. I went into eventing with that in mind and well...
I missed Emmet. I wanted him to be clingy again. I think you can tell where I got a bit self-indulgent. Making a mod is a lot of work and if I have the ability to turn Stardew into an Emmet friendship simulator, I'm going to make the most out of it. I need my emotional support Emmet to keep me on track. So for people familiar with Subway to Stardew and do like submas, you can get Emmet hugs at 9 hearts with Joltik now because I got derailed. Yippee!
The sneaking around in the mountain pass part was just silly. Since you can't visit Emmet in the Adoptable Joltik mod, I wanted to write around you not being able to find him. He's actively avoiding you now. Whether or not you notice him doesn't matter. He's not going to talk to you. It's safer that way.
I was thinking that Emmet doesn't take loss or changes in his routine very well; adopting Joltik would cause him to split tracks with you for a little bit. He's clingy and can't stand the few he cares about being gone even a little bit. He overthinks Joltik being happier with you so his inferiority complex flares up and he gets insecure about you forgetting him, too. He's jealous of you being a two-car train and he misses having Joltik aboard. He knows it's wrong to direct his frustrations at you since all you did was make Joltik happy.
There is a lot derailing his train of thought. While it's hard for him to stay on track, he still cares about you; you're still his best friend and favorite passenger (at the end of the line...). He doesn't want to split tracks forever, so he'll steer himself away in case if he accidentally lashes out or you end up thinking he's annoying with his visits for Joltik. He doesn't want you to hate him. He just wants to make sure Joltik still cares about him and still care for them while he takes the time to adjust to the changes in his routine. He's still frustrated with you, but that's his problem, not yours. He knows that. He thought it was a good idea to avoid you until he adjusted.
After all of that, his frustrations die down and he's a little deprived of his favorite (not-Joltik) passenger. He's clingy again. He won't let anyone derail him. Not even you. But he's back on track!

A Father's Resolve - Ch 1
Ingo returns after a decade - with two extra cars in tow. Years later, his kids are swallowed up by time in the same way he was. Will he be able to find them? Will they be able to make it out alive?
Word Count ~3000
"Kids, time for dinner!" Emmet called from the kitchen. Two sets of footsteps ran in the backdoor, giggling. "Make sure to wash up after being outside. Your father will be home soon."
The footsteps ran into the bathroom, followed by the sounds of a scuffle as they fought over who could have the sink first Emmet chuffed to himself. He remembered those days with Ingo.
He shut the back door to keep the cold air in and returned to the stove, finishing off the food and beginning to plate. Four empty plates got filled with potatoes, chicken, carrots, and some gravy each (except one, who did not like gravy).
The footsteps ran back to him, in the kitchen, two silver mops of hair taking up either side of him.
"When's Daddy gonna be home?" The boy asked on his left. Emmet handed him a plate.
"Any minute now. Take your plate to the table, please, Rei. And here you are, Miss Akari." He handed the girl the plate without gravy. She grinned up at him, one tooth missing in her mouth, as she ran off to join her brother. "Don't start until Ingo gets here. What do you two want to drink?"
No sooner had he asked than the door opened in the other room. The kids immediately hopped up and ran over. Emmet could hear laughter.
"Daddy!"
"Hello, cubs." Ingo removed his outerwear before he came into the kitchen, taking his own plate as well. "Thank you again for watching them, Emmet."
"Of course!" He loved his niece and nephew to bits. Even if they had been a big shock to him, he would trade them for nothing.
Emmet led the small party into his office. Ingo glanced around, alert. He ducked out and nabbed an extra chair from the break room down the hall and pulled the one from his desk forward, motioning for Ingo to sit down. He did so, allowing the two kids to sit on his lap. They dangled their legs between his, facing each other. They both still had tight holds on Ingo's coat.
Ingo seemed to have finally found his voice. "I'm very sorry but I have no idea who you are or where I am. I recognize you are someone I knew well before my sudden departure," he added as Emmet's heart stopped, effectively stopping that train of thought before it left the station, "but I lost all my memories when I first arrived at my other terminal. Please do not assume it is because I do not wish to remember, in fact, it bothers me greatly I do not. I have been trying to remember for years." He shifted the small figures in his lap.
Emmet bobbed his head slowly. "Well," he said slowly, "I am Emmet. I am your brother. Your twin, in fact." He kept a close eye on his brother’s eyes as he spoke. While Ingo's face was always set as stone, his eyes would always be a dead giveaway for his thoughts. Emmet paused and watched as some kind of recollection fell into them, some puzzle piece slotting into his expression. He lit up.
"Wait… I think I remember something now." His brows furrowed as he tried to think. "You were the one who was fond of the phrase 'I like winning more than anything else.' And we battled together inside that… oh I can't remember the word… the metal box on wheels."
Emmet blinked. "A… a train?"
"Yes!" His voice radiated warmth. "It was a train!" Had Ingo, his own brother and fellow conductor, forgotten what a train was? Ingo blinked. "Where are we?"
"This is my… our office," Emmet corrected. "Your desk was repurposed after a while…"
"Oh, that's quite alright. It was a shame I wasn't able to use it." A sadness entered his eyes as he glanced around, seeing some of the photos on the walls. Reminders for the station to run smoothly, pictures of the two of them.
The child on his left tugged at his sleeve and murmured something to him that Emmet did not catch. Ingo responded in a language that Emmet could not even guess what it was.
Curiosity ate at Emmet. "Who are these children?" He asked, cocking his head.
"Oh! I forgot to introduce you." Ingo looked down at the boy. "This is Rei." Rei looked away from him shyly, still unsure what was going on. "And this is Akari," he said, looking at the young girl. She was a bit more bold than her brother and waved. "They're mine."
Emmet's mind reeled even while his heart soared. Children? Amnesia? What language was he using? Why had he come back now? What was that tearing hole? "Ingo," Emmet asked, "where were you all this time?" He blinked. Before Ingo could continue, he stood. "Actually," he interjected. "Why don't we continue this track at home? I feel that the office is hardly the place to discuss this."
Ingo knitted his brows, but nodded. He set the two children down and they took his hands, still keeping close to his heels. Emmet opened the door to the office-
"Emmet, are you coming?"
Emmet jerked his head up and left the kitchen, sitting down at the table. "Apologies, I got distracted." Ingo had managed to wrangle the twins into their seats, and now that all four seats were filled, dinner could commence. Four silver heads dug in, the kids excitedly telling their father about their day between bites.
"And then Uncle Emmet took us to a creek and there were some Tympole in it! He said we couldn't swim in it in case they tried to fight us but they were really really cool," Akari was saying. Rei was nodding. Both of their eyes sparkled as they recounted their adventure hiking across Pinwheel.
"And some Trainer asked us to battle but we didn't have any pokemon so Uncle Emmet challenged them instead," Rei blurted, a mouthful of potato still inside.
"Rei, please swallow before talking," Ingo chided lightly. Then he swung his gaze to his brother. "Please tell me you went easy on them. Pinwheel is full of early Trainers."
"You wound me. Of course I didn't use my Subway team." He grinned. "I only used that Gurdurr I am training up. They fought quite valiantly and even managed to take it down."
Ingo nodded, satisfied. Emmet smirked. "And then with Eelektross-"
"Emmet, you didn't!"
Emmet laughed. "Of course not. I am merely teasing."
Ingo huffed as he brought another bite of steak to his mouth. Emmet had to stifle his laughter lest he spit out his food.
A knock sounded at the door.
"Hm," Emmet said, standing, "I wonder who that is. Were you planning company?"
Ingo shook his head.
Emmet crossed the living room and swung the door open. In the doorway stood a familiar figure. "Ah, hello, Elesa. Care to join us for dinner?"
She smiled, flicking back her hair. "Only because you asked so nicely."
Emmet rolled his eyes as she came in, pulling up a chair from the office for her. "There's more on the stove. Help yourself."
"Hi, Auntie Lesa!" Akari grinned at her as she swung for another bite of carrot.
Elesa smiled softly at the children and fixed her plate. "Hey there, squirts. Did you run your uncle in circles today?"
"Uncle Emmet took us to Pinwheel Forest today!" Rei started to climb out of his chair.
"Hold on there, kiddo, make sure to finish your dinner. You can tell me all about it while I'm eating."
She joined them at the table and the children talked and talked throughout the rest of the meal. The sun was beginning to go down now. Ingo cleaned up the dishes as the kids dragged Elesa to the living room to play with them. Emmet fed their pokemon dinner before heading that direction himself.
"And then you take this guy and put him in here," Rei was explaining. Elesa sat on her knees on the living room floor, off to the side of the couch.
After Ingo had returned with the twins, Emmet had done his best to find a larger home. At first, he thought Ingo may want to live alone with the kids, but it turns out being a single parent to two rambunctious twins was harder than it looked. It was not uncommon for the brothers to trade off who watched the kids every other day, making sure that the Subway always had at least one of the Bosses on any given day, except Sundays. Sundays were family days.
The home they lived in now was much more spacious than the one-bedroom apartment Emmet had downgraded to after Ingo's disappearance. It had a room for each of the children and the brothers shared a room. The pokemon seemed to approve as well. The backyard was the kids' favorite part. Usually they would run out in the mornings and not come in until evening, with the exception of meals. Whoever stayed home on a given day's pokemon team would take turns keeping an eye on and playing with the kids.
"That's neat, kiddo," Elesa was saying. Rei was showing her the toy car set they the twins raced with. Akari was showing her how they wound up. "What do you squirts want for your birthday?" Elesa asked them.
Since they had been born in a time without a 'proper' calendar and Ingo said they had fallen through the portal around the time of their birthday, they celebrated the anniversary of their return as their birthday.
Ingo had just put the two small children to bed. Emmet had insisted they could sleep on his bed for the time being, he really didn't mind the couch. Ingo could sleep with them, to help them feel safe.
"So… Hisui," Emmet said. Ingo came into the living room to talk. He had changed into a faded pair of Emmet's sweatpants and an old t-shirt. After a shower, his hair fell to about his shoulders. It was still damp.
"Yes?" Emmet offered Ingo the mug of tea he wanted, which he took.
"What was it like?"
Ingi sipped his tea as he thought about it. "Hisui was beautiful," he said finally. "It was almost the opposite of Nimbasa. It was wild, settlements of people were rare. The pokemon were wild and untamed. Forests gave way to beaches, mountains were untouched by humans. Everywhere was dangerous, there was always a chance of being attacked by anything. Even a passing Happiny had a chance to injure you gravely." He took another sip of tea before lowering his hands. "But there was something beautiful about it. Something about the danger made each day something special, something amazing. The sunsets were unparalleled. The breezes through the trees, the sunlight on the mountainside…" He set his mug on the coffee table. "I lived on the side of Mount Coronet. As such, there were a myriad of ravines and cliffs and sudden rockslides. After the twins were born, we had to be more cautious about where they were at all times. It was a chore to keep the two wrangled," he chuckled. Then he grew more somber. "Their mother passed right after childbirth. Medicine in Hisui was rudimentary at best and the chances of survival after any birth are never guaranteed. With it being twins… it was just too much."
Emmet reached over and patted his brother on the shoulder. He didn't really know what to say.
"They just turned five. They're my entire world." He glanced over to the bedroom that they were asleep in. "I just want them to be safe."
"And they will be," Emmet said. "Unova may not be paradise, but we do not have pokemon attacks, hardly ever. And now that you're back, you have help. You may not remember them, but we do have family and friends."
"We do?" The question slipped before Ingo even really thought about it.
Emmet nodded, a deep sadness permeating his bones. Yet another reminder that his brother had been swallowed up by time for a full decade with no idea who he was.
"Perhaps it is time to head to the home station for resting," Emmet said. "It has been a long day. We can continue discussing in the morning."
"I want a paint set," Rei said. "Daddy took us to a Daycare and they had paint there and let us make a drawing. Daddy put it on the fridge." He didn't look up from his car, the red one. The red one was his favorite, Emmet knew.
"I want a trampoline!" Akari squealed as she wound up the blue car, her favorite. She insisted it was the fastest. "I wanna jump really really high and touch the moon!"
Elesa snorted and ruffled the girl's silver hair. "If you do touch it, let me know if it's really made out of cheese, eh?"
"The moon is made of cheese?" Rei asked, finally looking up with his eyebrows knitted.
"Some people say it is. They say it's made out of stinky blue cheese." Elesa motioned up, to the ceiling, and presumably beyond that, the moon. "And that sometimes you can see the bite that a giant pokemon took out of it. That's why there's a hole there."
Akari's eyes were wide as she considered this. "Woah."
It was truly astounding how much they'd grown in the three years they'd lived in Unova, Emmet mused. The language had come fairly easily to them (though they still talked to each other in Hisuian sometimes).
Akari beckoned to Emmet. "Uncle Emmet, we still have the green car and we need another racer."
Elesa waved the yellow car at him. "Yeah come on, Uncle Emmet. Don't be a wet blanket."
Emmet rolled his eyes and fluffed up her hair. "Only if you're not."
"Emmet, you're such a pain."
"Me?" He asked, feigning ignorance as she tried to fix the mess of her hair Emmet had made. "I just wanted to come and race the green car."
"You both are horrible influences," Ingo grumbled from the kitchen.
"You know, eight is a pretty big birthday," Elesa said, ignoring Ingo’s comment.
"It is?" Akari asked her.
"That's the age I met your pops and uncle at," she said. "My mom was taking me for a trip to Opelucid and they were there with their uncle. We were just walking by when someone knocked me over and spilled a drink all over my dress. Turns out, Emmet hadn't been watching where he was running and he'd been chasing a Joltik. He yelled at me for being in the way and I got so mad, I chased him," she laughed. "Ingo was behind me trying to get me to not pulverize him. My mom started chasing me down. And their uncle Drayden was chasing all of us."
Emmet's face burned. "You were in my way."
That only made her laugh harder. "We caused so much trouble as kids."
"And I was usually trying to get you out of it," Ingo grumbled, drying his hands and coming over to sit by the group. "Don't listen to them," he said to the kids, "we were all in trouble all the time."
"I kinda felt bad for you, Ig. Though you often also got in on the stupid stuff we did."
"Like what?" Rei asked.
"No comment," Emmet said quickly, seeing his brother's warning glare.
"Did I ever tell you what they're named after?" Ingo had asked him one day. The twins were maybe six, playing with Haxorus in the garden.
"No, I do not believe so." Emmet and Ingo stood on the porch, watching them. The sun was warm, a light breeze stirring the leaves on the trees. They’d only been living in the house for a couple months now. There was still a lot to do in terms of making it a home, but Emmet needed a break. So he stood outside with his brother, leaning on the railing in identical fashion.
"Did I tell you the story of the Heroes of Hisui?" His eyes stayed trained on his children, always alert, even though Haxorus was more than capable of handling them.
"Bits and pieces."
"There was a time when Hisui was riddled with space-time distortions," Ingo started. "I know I mentioned those. One of those is what we fell through when we landed in the Subway. A massive rip in space-time hung just over the center of the region, in Mount Coronet. And one day, two teenagers fell out of it and landed right next to Jubilife. Soon after, the Nobles, I told you about those, started to be struck by strange lightning and going into destructive frenzies. They completely mauled anyone who came near and even killed one or two.The two teenagers calmed the Nobles as they were struck and built up a reputation. I met them myself once, and guided them through the Highlands."
He paused in his story to watch Akari as she hopped for a tree branch, pointing to it and calling to Haxorus. It lifted her up, allowing her to pluck a ripe Oran from its branches, and set her down gently.
"And then the sky changed. It was awful, Emmet. Something I'd never wish to see again. I am not sure what happened, but the heroes fixed the sky. They fixed the rift, too. And soon after, they disappeared. I'm not sure what happened to them, but I always hoped they got to return home. Wherever they belonged. The twins’ mother wanted to name them after the Heroes to bring them luck and courage."
Emmet nodded beside him, watching Rei run circles around Haxorus to try to grab her tail. "I think they are honorable names. They suit them."
If Ingo could smile, he would have.

(feel free to ignore if this is repetative and boring for you, but I absolutely adore those catboy hc's you wrote for the twins!! ;o; ow my heart,,) may I please request something short for pla!Ingo with that too? maybe earning the love and trust of a re-homed, scruffy, slightly older catboy? (would be super grateful for anything, but only if you feel like it! thanks!!<3)
AH- hybrids my beloveds.
-
-
Working at an adoption café had its ups and downs. You’ll see hybrids find good homes and then some come back worse for ware.
A sweet hybrid named Ingo was the subject of that, he use to help you around the café whenever he could, very social but calm and out going, suited for a calmer way of life.
He had been so excited to have been adopted but a few years later he was back, a little beat up but still standing.
A few new scars, bags heavy under his eyes, clothes a little tattered, and older.
While Ingo still helped he was more shut in, he hid away from everyone else unless he had to interact, you’d often find him in a enclosed space like the supply closet.
It broke your heart to see such a kind hearted man like this, you couldn’t take it anymore so you asked your boss if you could adopt him.
He had been back for almost a year and no one even bothered with him, you refused to leave him like this.
Luckily your boss agreed and you signed those papers in record speed.
“Ingo?” You peaked into his usual hiding spot.
Silver eyes peer right back at you.
“Come on, we’re going home.” You’re hoping since he knows you from how long you’ve worked here he will trust you, even if it’s a little.
“Home?” The usual loud voice only a mere whisper.
“Yeah, you don’t deserve to sleep in a supplies closet, I have an extra bed anyways. That is, if you want to.”
You watch his eyes scan your face, looking for something that you aren’t quite sure of. The hybrid keys out a muted sigh before standing up and following you.
You heartaches.
When he was first adopted to was beaming with joy and purring so loud the whole café could hear him.
Now there is nothing, just silence.
You knew this was going to be a long road but you are determined to make him feel loved.
And a slow road it was.
When you showed him around your house and his room that you filled with clothes more his style and size, that’s where he stayed.
You’d only hear him come out of his room at night when you were in bed. You’d knock on his door and ask him what he wanted to eat or if he needed anything to drink.
While still as polite as ever he never made any suggestions. You still brought him breakfast, lunch, and dinner with drinks to match on a bed tray for him.
You were just happy he was eating when you’d see the bed tray on the counter and his dishes washed.
That continued for months before he started branching out a little. You’d hear some walk around during the day, sometimes he’d even poke around the corner and ask you how your day was, after you were done he’d nod and leave.
You remember how he liked to watch train documentaries and would have them playing on the café’s tv.
So you bought him books and movies about locomotives.
“You bought these…for me?”
“Yeah! I remember how much you liked trains whenever something about then would come on the tv, so I thought to give you something to entertain yourself with. You are home alone a good portion of the day so.”
You didn’t miss how his normally dull silver eyes light up.
“I…thank you, this means a lot to me.”
“Anything for you! Just let me know if you need or want anything, I’m more than happy to help.”
Weeks after that he started coming out of his room more. Still cautious but he was out and exploring the house.
He even starts sitting on the couch with you! Sure he’s on the other end of the couch furthest from you, but he’s building confidence!
His matching alabaster cat ears are constantly moving at every little sound, even if it’s just you moving.
You try to make conversation and jokes during these times, and while he seems to enjoy it, he’s not much of a talker anymore it seems.
Months tick by slowly but each day brought along new progress. He even starts helping you in the kitchen! Ingo seems to like cooking with you, or at least being in the kitchen with you.
You’re more than happy to see him slowly following you around the house. but he is still as helpful as ever.
You knew you couldn’t buy his love, but it made you so happy to see him so happy about train things you’d buy him.
Almost two years of this and it all came to ahead one day.
You didn’t have time to send Ingo a message that you’d be late coming home. You gave him a phone just for this, but the café had been so busy that you didn’t get a chance to.
You booked it home, sending him a message as soon as you got off work but he had responded nor seen it. You were tackled the second you opened that door.
“I’m sorry I’m late! The café got so busy, I didn’t get a chance to tell you, I’m sorry.” You said, a little out of breath.
But Ingo was deathly quiet, his ear laid back and his tail was low, if you listened closely you could hear his short quick breaths.
You can feel the shoulder of your shirt getting wet.
You gingerly wrap your arms around him, resting your head on his shoulder.
“I didn’t mean to scare you, I promise I will let you know no matter what it takes.”
“Please don’t leave me.” His voice sounded so broken and small. His grip on the back of your shirt tightening.
“I will never leave you, Ingo, you’re a very sweet and caring man, I couldn’t imagine every living without you.”
Your words seemed to open the flood gates.
He is shaking and sobbing into your shoulder. Ingo’s knees give out from under him, taking you both to the floor.
You gently run your fingers through his hair, delicately scratching his scalp, softly shushing him, reminding him that you’re here and you’re not going anywhere.
The older cat hybrid cries himself into exhaustion. You tried taking him to his room but he wouldn’t let go of you, so you slept next to him.
After that it was like he was a changed hybrid.
You nearly cried when you heard him purr for the first time, luckily it was just as loud as it usually is.
Though bashful, he loves giving and receiving affection.
You didn’t realize how touch starved he was until he was melting on top of you on the couch, purring like an engine, and nuzzling into you.
You also found out he doesn’t like going outside unless you’re with him, you don’t know what that’s about but he likes taking walks with you and shopping with you.
Coming home from a long day at work to the large purring hybrid was nice, even if his goatee tickles against your skin.

Okay I just got to ramble about something that just bothers me so bear with me
Also my memories about the story of Legend Arceus is a little foggy as it has been to long and I was mainly focused on the open world gameplay
(I didn't even notice how much Volo appeared in the story)
Also obvious spoilers for Legend Arceus
Okay so here is the thing. I hear a lot of people say that Volo planned his betrayel towards the player since the beginning
But I don't think so that that was the case
At the beginning the player literally just fell from the sky. How can Volo already plan to fight the player and take their plates when they literally just came to the world?
He probably was suspicious of the player, like everyone else but he didn't saw them as a threat just yet
I think it started after the player fought a few of the noble pokemon's and collected a few of the plates already
He noticed what the player was capable of
And with the player having some of the plates, that's when he started to plan his betrayel because he saw the player as a threat that will stop him or as someone that he can use in order to collect the rest of the plates he needs
Did Volo thought that Ingo was a threat to his plan when he fell into Hisui?
I don' think so
What I'm just trying to say is that he didn't plan his betrayel at the beginning but rather later into the game

Viral Pokerus: Emmet (Elesa and Drayden too)
You'll want to read about this post first, it talks about the modern day in the Viral Pokerus au. Feel like that's important to read because this is the modern day.
So you know the drill, Ingo goes missing because he falls back in time. Emmet has no idea what happened to Ingo and is panicking about his missing brother. He's been working himself to the bone trying to manage Gear Station by himself, take care of all their Pokemon, while also searching for any information about where his brother is.
This is all gets too much to mange when his many Joltik have Pokerus spreading among them. This isn't the first time Emmet's hoard of Joltik get Pokerus, this is just a different hoard than last time. As always caring for a bunch of sick Pokemon at once and trying to stop your other Pokemon from getting sick is hard. Elesa convinces him to focus on his Pokemon and let the depot agents take care of the station and let her take care of searching for Ingo. He agrees to this until the little Pokerus outbreak is taken care of.
Let's say... a few days of taking care of them later... Emmet notices he's also coming down with something. The thought that he caught their Pokerus does appear in his mind, but not seriously because it's rare for humans to catch it, he thinks it's just a human cold he caught coincidentally. He decides to check anyway just to be sure.
Those he engage in breeding either as a job or hobby are expected to keep at least one Pokerus test on hand, because of the heightened risk of the job. The one he has, he bought a long time ago, and it's just been sitting around. He uses it, and it comes out positive. Emmet's starting to worry but he knows old tests don't always work right so he goes and buys a new one. It also comes out positive.
Emmet's freaking out. It's official, he's going to turn into a little electric spider! In other circumstances, Emmet wouldn't mind this, he loves the Joltik line after all, being one would be cool. However he's already dealing this so much shit as is, he really can't handle this right now too!
Emmet isn't a fan of hospitals so he decides he wants to change at home. He calls Elesa and tells her what's happening and that he needs her help to take care of his Pokemon... and also him. She's happy to help him but tells him he should also call his uncle Drayden as well, to help. Emmet doesn't want to bother his uncle and adoptive father (adoptive since Emmet and Ingo's parents died when they were 13). He's a gym leader and a mayor, he's a very busy guy, not too mention he was also helping look for Ingo.
Elesa tells him very bluntly that if Drayden finds out, he'd been extremally upset about not helping Emmet and would feel like he was letting both of his sons down, now. Emmet agrees to call him. Drayden says he'll be right over, and not to worry, "it shouldn't be that bad" Elesa and Drayden are both born Shifters, so there's no worry about them catching Pokerus.
So they both get to Emmet and Ingo's house. Now they are both putting off searching for Ingo for now. The first couple of days since they got there, Emmet's been fine. But everybody's waiting for the shoe to drop, and eventually it does. Emmet gets hit with a really bad fever, that signals the start of the transformation.
Drayden and Elesa work together to care for Emmet and Ingo's Pokemon as well as Emmet himself. Emmet is getting smaller as the days go by, as well as growing the yellow fuzz that Joltik's have. At some point in there he starts being able to do little Thunder Shocks and batteries start to look kinda tasty.
He eventually fully transforms into a Joltik, the worst of the illness is over, although he still has a bit of a cold. Drayden and Elesa advise him to wait a few more days to feel better before he tries to turn back into a human. But eventually he feels fine, and figures out how to turn back.
Afterwards the two continue to work with Emmet in his Joltik form to try to get him more comfortable with it. Like eating electricity, crawling around in small spaces, using moves, and eventually doing some battling himself. Emmet finds that he does indeed enjoy his Pokemon form. And he has a realization that despite being born human, he was already thinking of himself as also being a Pokemon, alongside being human.
Before Drayden was going to leave back to his city, the three of them receive word of Ingo. Professor Rowan calls them and tells them of his recently missing assistant, Lucas, and that his assistant's friends realized that Lucas went back in time. But more relevant to them, it appears the missing Subway Boss was in the same time period as Lucas.
When Lucas went missing the Hero of Hisui wasn't exactly Dawn and Barry's first thought. But the fact that the Hero was said to be a time traveler, it didn't take them long to consider it. With just a little bit of research, along with Cynthia's help, they realized that that was where he went.
But other than the Hero there were also a few other documents that mention another time traveler. With Cynthia's knowledge of strong battlers across the world, she realizes that the 2nd time traveler was Ingo, the missing Subway Boss.
Knowing that Ingo wound up in Hisui is pretty worrying, considering all the chaos that went down at that period. It may be another region but knowing about the event that created Shifters is basic knowledge.
It isn't hard for Emmet, Elesa, and Drayden to look up information from that time. They were even able to find a photo of all the wardens in their Pokemon forms. They recognize that hat and coat, and know that Ingo turned into a H. Sneasel.
Elesa makes a joke about the brothers continuing to match through time and space, considering they both became Shifters while they were separated.
Elesa also thinks it’s cool that Ingo is in the Pearl Clan. She is a H. Zoroark and has Pearl Clan heritage. It’s kind of exciting for her that Ingo might have been friends with one of her ancestors.
They worry about Ingo getting back to the correct time. The legends mention the time traveling Hero going back to his original time, but what about Ingo? There are some sources that mention, usually the ones that bring up the 2nd time traveler, that the Hero brought someone to the future with him.
They all really hope that that "someone" is Ingo. If not, Emmet is ready to become level 100 and use Thunder on Arceus's ass. (Don't worry the "someone" is Ingo)

Back at it again with another New AU with @tombstone-pisa
Dubbed "Teen Emmet AU" (Even though they're both Teens, but Emmet is the focus of the AU)
If you're familiar with how we do AUs, it won't be a surprise that there's mentions of abuse and potential murder. Here we go, under the cut
At a young age, Ingo and Emmet were essentially sold into the foster system and were separated. Ingo went with a family that generally treated him well (aside from the fact that they gaslit him into thinking Emmet was an imaginary friend). Meanwhile Emmet had a hell of a time in a lot of ways, physically mentally and emotionally. When Emmet got old enough, he got himself out of the place where he was and got his own apartment and started attending the same school as Ingo.
Initially, Ingo only knew about Emmet because he kept getting in trouble and detention for things he Didn't Do. Because Emmet cannot behave himself, but most people just thought he was Ingo. And when he's finally about to confront the person making his school life so hard, Emmet excitedly calls his name and hugs him and Ingo starts going through a sort of existential crisis. Emmet wasn't real. He had made him up as a kid because he was lonely. This doesn't make any sense-
But Emmet is certainly real and he keeps talking about how much he missed Ingo and how much he loves him and Ingo just... kinda goes along with it for a while. His life has been a lie and he's processing and if he ends up kissing or getting intimate with this figment of his imagination made real, so be it. He seems very genuine in his affection after all.
As for Emmet's side of everything... When they were separated, Emmet mourned. But he didn't have much time to dwell on it because his experience was just a hell nightmare. The only thing that got him through it was his personal vow to see Ingo again and to be able to see him smile. He had some photos from when they were young still, his most precious possessions, until they were ripped up by someone taunting Emmet and hoping to break that smile. They survived, but they certain got a scare. The home they were in didn't bother to report the incident so Emmet faced no consequences. Which he shouldn't anyway. Ingo's smile was taken away from him Again. And that kinda set something off in him. He would find Ingo and protect his smile, no matter the cost. It was the only reason for him to continue living. So finally finding Ingo was a dream come true.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ingo's parents certainly didn't approve of any association between the two of them and after a series of events, including Ingo questioning the validity of his own memories and demanding to know why they lied to him, Ingo gets kicked out. He goes to stay with Emmet, who now really really wants to kill Ingo's parents. Ingo keeps talking him down from it, but otherwise their life together, while not easy, is peaceful. Though now they both suffer from severe separation anxiety. Not while theyre in classes or anything, but whenever they Could be together, if they weren't, it would set in. But absolutely nothing will keep Emmet away from Ingo.
Despite all this going on in their lives, they're still dumb cringey teenagers from the 00s and go to anime clubs, (which is why Emmet calls Ingo Niisan, because he's a cringy baby weeb)
Also yes Ingo is a goth with dyed hair and yes he's reading Twilight. He's Team Edward. Emmet apologises that he can't be a vampire but he'll happily watch him sleep if he wants. Ingo finds the possessive behavior ~Romantic~. They have dates at the graveyard because Emmet doesn't care as long as Ingo is happy. It suits his Aesthetic.
Side note: This AU does take place in a pokeverse. I'll do another post later about their pokemon

tfw when you have a thought in your head and it turns into a 1k word ficlet
Have a small thing about Nora at Lake Acuity
TW: slight suicide ideation near the end
_____
The snow crunched beneath my feet as I stepped closer to the lake in front of me to get a better view of it. I stopped at the edge of it, scanning the perimeter to see if there was anything useful in the water or on the ground that I could easily grab and throw in the pack I was currently toting.
I wasn’t usually one to travel so close to a settlement out of fear of causing trouble, but Ingo had been tasked with gathering quite a fair number of materials and items in the wild and I still needed to repay him for the time he saved my life during a blizzard. He also had always been kind to me whenever we met and spent time together, so I suppose a part of me just wanted to help him just because as well.
Lake Acuity I believe they called it. It’s pretty, especially with all the snow surrounding it.
After a moment of staring at the water, I briefly looked around to see if there was anything useful lying on the ground. A few ore deposits caught my eye, but I hadn’t brought Vesta with me so I had no way of breaking them open to collect the materials. “Nothing…” I sighed as I looked back at the lake and saw a Basculin peeking out of the water before quickly diving back down and swimming away.
“SQUAWK!!!”
A shrill screech pierced me from behind and I barely had enough time to turn and see a Rufflet aggressively flying towards me, claws and beak poised to strike as soon as it was in range. I stumbled to the side and barely avoided its attack as it blew by me, and watched it quickly change direction back towards me to attempt another attack. “Shit shit shit…” I panicked as I looked for anything to use to defend myself with, but there was nothing but snow on the ground.
Just snow. Snow. Snow!
I scooped up a pile and packed it as tight as I could, forming something akin to a ball shape. I did my best to aim in the small space of time I had before the Rufflet reached me again and threw it as hard as I could muster. Thankfully my aim was on point today and I saw it make direct contact with the bird, causing it to squawk and fall to the ground in shock. It hopped back on its feet a moment later, but now it seemed dazed and confused by what had just happened.
“Listen here you little shit!” I shouted at it, causing it to hop in surprise, “I’m not here to bother you so how about you leave me alone before I peg you in the head again! Because I will!” We stared each other down for what seemed like forever, but finally the Rufflet backed down and begrudgingly flew over the cliff and out of sight. For some reason I decided to follow it, probably to make sure it was actually leaving and not just going to find help to attack me again. I stood at the edge and watched for it to pop up again, but it didn’t.
I felt a small stone slip from beneath my foot and quickly stepped back and stared down as it fell down the cliff, grazing the side once before finally hitting the water with a barely visible splash at the base of the waterfall.
That could’ve been me just now.
The thought lingered in my head as I continued to look down at the water below. It was a long way down from here. Any creature that couldn’t fly or climb the rocky walls would surely try to avoid standing so close to the edge in fear of falling off.
I wonder if a fall from this height would kill me. I mean, if not from the impact, then surely the freezing temperature of the water would.
I continued to ponder this for some odd reason. Ponder how I could just take one step and find out the answer here and now. That maybe finding out the answer wasn’t such a bad idea right now because the life I was living right now was its own form of hell. My foot slid forward ever so slightly, and some snow fell over cliff.
That could be me next. Maybe it should be me next. Perhaps I’ll let it be me n-
I smiled and a small laugh escaped my lips. He was trying so hard to keep his voice down, but at the moment was failing spectacularly. It was endearing to be honest. “I thought I might find something up here, so I decided to take a peek.” I replied, “But all I found were rocks I couldn’t break open and a headstrong Rufflet trying to fight me.”
“NORA! THERE YOU ARE!” A booming voice brought me back to reality and I turned away from the cliff, seeing Ingo walking towards me. I waved slightly and made my way towards him, pushing my previous thoughts to the back of my mind. “I’m surprised to find you all the way up here!” He said to me once we had reached each other, “You usually don’t like traveling through such open locations if I recall correctly!”
“Ah yes, they do tend to be very eager in that regard.” Ingo nodded in agreement, having had some experience with them himself. “Oh, right!” His train of thought suddenly shifted, “I was looking for you to let you know that I’ve found an adequate amount of materials for the settlement! So, we can head back to my hut now if there isn’t anything else you need to do out here!”
“That sounds good to me.” I replied, and felt my smile grow bigger when I watched him attempt to smile back and instead make a face that reminded me of a Glameow. He nodded and the two of us began to make our way down the mountain and back to his hut on the outskirts of the settlement.
I’m not ready to give up quite yet. Right now I’ll keep going…for him.

A random thought bought upon the one prompt where Emmet implied that even he gets floated away by Ingo's jealous Chandelure sometimes. I can picture Ingo getting together with his s/o, but being a bit nervous of how they will react to his Chandelure's jealous tendencies. Some have not reacted well to it. However, his worries are quickly put to rest when he sees you react to them rather well. You only smile and comment on how much his Pokémon loves him. Whenever she floats you away you just laugh it off. You aren't bothered by any of it, and while Ingo is thankful that his beloved is so understanding he can't help but wonder why you are so patient. When asked you just laugh, and say "Oh, you haven't met my Chandelure yet. They do the exact same thing." And a few nights later after he has met his s/o's Chandelure he finds himself being floated out of the bedroom because his s/o's Chandelure is jealous and wants to cuddle their trainer. As he's floated out all he can think is "Oh, so this is what it feels like." Don't know why I just find the idea of Ingo being on the receiving end of jealous ghost shenanigans to be really funny. It being a Chandelure causing it would be even funnier to me, but honestly any ghost Pokémon would work.
Ingo finally experiencing the eternal suffering of a jealous Chandelure and being slightly hurt about being unable to befriend a beloved ghost type. He is going to desperately try to befriend the ghost. He knows what they like, it should be easy! (It is not easy.)
djsjdjd with like Erin, I can imagine Ingo actually getting so frustrated and upset when s/o's Chandelure tries to float the boy away from him like his does to s/o.
Also, a possible Chandelure alliance or rivalry. They two ghost types are either aiding each other in letting them cling to their trainer or brawling to death for daring to do such a thing their trainer lmao

@sekizein
The whole situation felt uncomfortable and heavy. The moment Emmet ‘asked’ him to go out with him once the station closed for the evening, and by asked it sounded more like a demand and if he tried to avoid the outing then Emmet was just going to show up at his apartment anyways and drag him out. Or worse make himself at home. He’d done it before and fully expected his boss to do it again at any time.
Why was he like this?
Tumblr media
He stared at the drink on the table that rested between his hands. Something light in flavor but still a little sweet. How many had he had at this point? Enough to make his mind feel a little foggy at the very least. “Why?” His normally calm and mild tone filled with unfiltered annoyance. “Why’d you force me out with you?” In his uncomfortable state he may have burned through more drinks than he thought.
“Don’t you have any other friends to keep you company? Harassing me 5 days a week isn't enough? You really have to do it on my time off too?” He hissed staring at his boss from across the booth. Though before he knew it, Alex was already moving to stand. Well as much as he could, one of his hands gripping onto the edge of the table, supporting his weight.
“You show up to my apartment uninvited. You force all sorts of work on me that wasn’t in my job description and don’t even bother to pay me more. I was hired to battle. I don’t know how to do any of yours and Ingo’s work. I don’t know the first thing about trains or subways! You never tell me what you’re actually feeling or what you want from me. You just act like some cryptid weirdo making weird vague demands of me. What am I supposed to think or do?”
Alexander paused at the other side of the table, blocking Emmet into the booth. Maybe it was an attempt to be intimidating or maybe he had really just wanted to move to sit next to the Subway Boss instead of across for some reason. Fumbling onto the bench he forced the Subway Boss back in the confined space, the only way out being to duck under the table.
“I can’t keep up with this!” His left hand slammed down onto the table quite a bit harder than he intended, shaking it and nearly knocking over Emmet's drink in the process. “Just tell me what you want from me already! Do you hate me that much?!” His right hand came down right hard next to Emmet's head on the wall to his side, trapping him in place. The raised tone, and uncomfortably close position was something future Alex could be embarrassed about and regret later.
“I’m not Ingo, can’t you see that?! I tried to be your friend-- I wanted to help you when you were struggling-- But you never ask for what you want! You demand the world from everyone but you don’t actually tell people what you need! That little world of just you and Ingo you’re still trying to live in doesn’t exist anymore! Ingo is gone! There’s people who are here! People care about you but you’re so in your own head that you can’t see it. I care about you! I’m not Ingo. Labmas AU - Retrospective
I uploaded this to AO3 a little over a month ago but forgot to put it here as well.
These are the initial Labmas ideas that I posted before starting the story. I only skimmed over them while writing the first 3 or 4 chapters, so I thought it would be interesting to go over them again and see all the things that changed, got thrown out, or I simply forgot about! The original writing will be in purple font, followed by my thoughts or explanations of certain things from the fic. Some will have long walls of text, and others may have nothing at all.
I suggest reading the story first as this will spoil most everything in it.
The AU is about two hybrid clones of the Subway Bosses Ingo and Emmet. I'm leaning towards it taking place during the Rainbow Rocket shenanigans and being in second/third person, most likely with a reader insert from an alternate dimension where Pokemon don't exist, but the games, for the most part, do exist. I want the reader to know what pokemon are and the general gist of their world, but I don't want them to know the characters. So the reader won't know any of the people they are meeting since they are not in the games that exist in the reader's universe. I guess you can just imagine the reader only has Pokemon Mystery Dungeon type games, nothing with the mainline Teams or protagonists. Now, as thirsty as I am for the Train Men, I really don't plan on having this be a romantic story, maybe some elements but I mostly want to focus on a somewhat existential horror narrative.
In the very first paragraph we have a change. It's not set during Rainbow Rocket, it's set during Black/White. The grunts are described as having their chainmail attire. Colress in this story isn't in charge of Team Plasma like in Black2/White2, only it's science division. However, he's known to be a nasty individual when someone gets on his bad side, so he's given leeway by the grunts, even though he's not technically above all of them, just the lower rungs. As for the romance angle, it actually showed up much more than I thought it would. I was hoping to make a horror story with some romance, but I think it ended up being reversed. More romance, with a teeny bit of horror. The only part that I feel could be considered horror is when Kudari kills Colress' assistant.
The hybrids have Ingo and Emmet's Japanese names Nobori and Kudari. They were created by Colress, who is more of a Biologist/geneticist in this world, his goal being to create the perfect Pokemon. So far he's only had two successful experiments, those being Nobori and Kudari, though they are only considered successful in the sense that they were viable specimens and are currently alive and working alongside him. I view him as very much an opportunist, even in USUM when it appears he might have some remorse for his past actions. To clear up any confusion, the Colress in this story isn't the same one that is met in USUM, I was just stating some parallels between them.
I have more to say about Colress, but I'll save it for a later paragraph. There's a work on AO3 that I think is an amazing character study of Colress in the games. It's long, but goes over different things Colress has done and analyzes them.
An Unkind Person: An (Updated) Analysis of Team Plasma Boss Colress by IcyKali
I really like Colress as a character, and I don't think the canon one is anywhere near as awful as mine is, but he's certainly not a nice person.
Now I'm gonna say something regarding their ages that might bother some people. I'm of the opinion that most of the non playable adult characters in Pokemon are older than they look, barring certain characters like Ghetsis, Cogita, Warden Ingo ,etc. who are clearly drawn do have age lines. My logic being that many of them are in careers or have accomplished goals that would take years to complete. So for my AU, Ingo, Emmet, and Colress are in their early to mid forties, whereas the hybrid twins are in their early to mid twenties. They were created shortly after Colress graduated high school and was recruited by Team Plasma. Ingo and Emmet, graduating from the same high school as Colress, went on to become Subway Bosses and run Gear Station. They are connected to Team Plasma via a mutually beneficial business relationship. Gear Station gets funding from Team Plasma in return for information on the Subway Bosses' most promising challengers.
Everything in here looks the same to what I have in the story! Many fan works have young Submas, which I enjoy, but sometimes when it comes to these characters, I have to wonder how such young people got into positions of respect and power. Unless there is an abundance of young prodigies, which isn't impossible, it's fiction after all, but I like to have some variation in ages. As an extra note about Colress, I will add that he was attending University when he was hired by Team Plasma. It started as an internship, which then became paid employment.
Colress can't stand the Train Bros. I'm still trying to work out exactly what they did to piss him off, but like all good one-sided rivalries, it started in high school. Most likely something having to do with losing a Pokemon battle, and Emmet being extremely blunt, can't help but continually bring it up. Just stupid, petty stuff that has lasted half of Colress' life. Ingo and Emmet's DNA was used by Colress more of as a passive aggressive jab at them, not intending for it to be anything more than a joke. More of a "wouldn't it be funny if I added their genetics to my experiments?"
Colress' reason for his hatred of the Subway Bosses stayed the same, I was just able to flesh it out more.
That's how the hybrid's came about. Not intentionally, but because Colress was feeling like an asshole and wanted to mess around to see what he could do using the Train Bros. DNA, resulting in an "Oh shit" moment when he saw they were viable specimens.
I'm a big fan of Colress as more of an apathetic scientist, but In this story he's pretty much reached the limit of his patience with his line of work/ failed experiments. He never was fatherly towards the twins, only raising them to be tools for Team Plasma. Not out of any love for Team Plasma, but they're the ones funding his research. The hybrid twins are, begrudgingly, his greatest achievement. Colress doesn't hate them, but he greatly resents them, struggling to keep his composure if he deems they are acting immaturely or in a rash manner. They are a constant reminder of how much he hates the Train Bros. (As an aside, I'm going to continue to refer to Ingo and Emmet as the Train Bros. to help differentiate them from Nobori and Kudari since the hybrid twins have nothing to do with trains.) Though he despises the Train Bros., he knows there isn't anything he can really do about them, since their help in recruiting promising Plasma grunts is invaluable to the team. Having to interact with them sporadically and raise the Hybrid Twins has put a huge strain on his mental and emotional well-being, though that's due to his own issues (real or imagined). When Colress is with the Hybrid Twins, he refers to them as Noku, so he can grab both of their attention without using their full names.
Colress… is a terrible person. There's no other way to put it. In whatever way he is capable, he does love the hybrids. Colress doesn't like loving them, he wants to be as critical and logical as possible, but he can't help but care for them, and that upsets him greatly. It's hard for me to put into words exactly how he feels, so this part is going to be all over the place.
Though it's true that Colress regarded Nobori as 'the good one,' Kudari has always been his favorite. Even after he got older, and more unruly, Colress saw him as his lost child. In chapter 14, Nobori proposed a theory to Reader for why Colress is so horrible, that being he's lashing out for his own heartache and disappointment for how Kudari turned out. Colress has always been an asshole, but having to nurture Kudari as a baby really affected him, and he grew to love him. While they were growing up, Colress was strict, but his cruelty towards the hybrids didn't start until Kudari began to withdraw and become rebellious. This was due to him being part Galvantula, which makes him naturally independent, and because he's stuck in the laboratory. When Colress saw the boy that used to follow him around, and even styled his hair in the same way as him, start to decline mentally, it hit him hard. But instead of finding different outlets for Kudari to express his anger and restlessness, he started to punish him for it. What used to be crying fits during his childhood, became enraged tantrums in his preteens and adolescence. Around this time is when Colress first fitted Kudari with his collar, having it readjusted every couple years as he grew.
There's the question of what Colress was hoping to achieve by letting Reader interact with Kudari. He didn't stand to gain anything, unless Kudari really decided to play along and become an active member of his research team. But deep down, he knew that wouldn't happen. It was more of a decision made quickly, to prevent himself from having to hear anymore prodding from Reader, and have someone keep an eye on Kudari, while at least attempting to be productive. Even though he has Reader's help, Colress has been throwing them softballs, knowing they can't live up to what he wants in an assistant. Right after the death of the previous one, he went looking for a replacement, continuing to do so after Reader joined the team. If he had found one, he likely would have just made Reader Kudari's permanent caretaker.
This may be considered cliché by now, but Nobori is a Chandelure Hybrid, and Kudari is a Galvantula Hybrid. They never went through any Pokemon evolution, they were created to be Hybrids of these specific Pokemon. So they weren't born as a Litwick or Joltik Hybrid, they were always a Chandelure or Galvantula Hybrid regardless of age.
I've read different stories and headcanons about various types of hybrid Submas, but these were my favorites. I had pondered what it would be like to have an Elektross Kudari, but the mental image of an eel-man floating around just killed the concept for me, making it too silly for the type of story I wanted.
(As for their physical appearances, I first must admit that I love Warden Ingo. So Nobori's design is modeled after him. So I get to have a story with Ingo and Not Warden Ingo in it, without them being the same person! It's my cake, I should be allowed to eat it too!)
Nothing wrong with this, they are both good!
As far as outward appearance, Nobori doesn't look too different from a regular person until closer inspection. He has the slouched posture, tired eyes, and goatee of Warden Ingo. His skin and eyes are what give him away as a Chandelure Hybrid. Though his skin has the feel and durability of a normal human, it is a light lavender color, while his sclera are a glowing yellow, surrounded by black circles. Unlike a Chandelure, he does have Irises and pupils, but they are the same shade of black, giving the illusion that he just has very large pupils. Over the years, Nobori has been allowed to leave the lab on certain occasions, but he must always wear make up and contacts to keep the façade of normalcy.
For the most part, Nobori's appearance is the same, but I decided to give him the regular gray/silver Submas eye color.
Kudari is much more monstrous in appearance. Ignoring the Galvantula half, he has six eyes, four of which do not blink, and the top two of those four are blind. This creates a small black spot on the very top of his vision. (I don't think this is something that will come up in the potential fic, but it's just some background info on how his body works.) All of his eyes are purple, the main two consisting of light purple sclera and dark purple irises. Similar to Nobori, his irises and pupils are the same color making them look like large pupils. His teeth are sharp (and I'm arguing with myself on whether he should have an extra pair of fangs outside of his mouth for injecting venom.)His torso is the same size as Nobori's, but his arms and stomach are muscular from having to hold himself upright on his Galvantula body, which is much larger than that of a normal Galvantula.
The blindness of his top two eyes was not mentioned. It really didn't add anything to the story, nor does it cause him any issues with his sight. It's something he was born with, so he's learned to ignore it. A large difference here is the color of his eyes. After the initial posting of these notes, I looked at Galvantula again and remembered they didn't have purple eyes, so that had to be changed. Kudari has blue sclera and light blue irises. As for the pupils, I decided that they should be normal. The problem I had with making it appear as if the hybrids had large pupils was that, at least in my mind, it would seem goofy and cartoonish. Which isn't the look I wanted them to have, so that was thrown out. For Kudari's teeth, they are sharp, however, it's not in the way Iono has sharp teeth. They're closer to Anglerfish teeth. He does indeed have fangs, mostly hidden behind his sideburns, but the tips peak out. We don't get to see him use them, though they do start to leak in chapter 15, which embarrasses him.
Nobori and Kudari refer to Colress as "Dr. Colress." They know he created them but are under no illusions to the extent of their relationship with him. Early in their lives, they did yearn for a father and mother figure, but have since accepted their lack of parental affection. Nobori is much more quiet, resigned, and dependable compared to Kudari, who is extremely volatile and angry. This is due in part by his appearance. Whereas Nobori has been allowed to leave the lab, Kudari has never left and is sequestered to specific rooms. This causes some jealousy issues between them.
I would eventually develop the idea of Kudari murdering Colress' assistant shortly after this was written. When he was younger, Kudari was allowed to wander around the lab, for the most part unfettered. Then Colress tried to make him an assistant when he was a teenager, which is when the vents were installed in the laboratory. Once Colress realized Kudari was just screwing around instead of helping, he started to be limited in where he was allowed, culminating with him being sequestered to his room indefinitely(at least without a chaperone present) after he killed the assistant.
Kudari came across as much more pleasant than he was originally conceived. He still retained some of his unstable moodiness, but it wasn't anything as intense or unhinged as I intended. I wanted him to be more of an asshole, but whenever I started writing his dialogue with Reader, it just wouldn't come out that way. It flowed in a way that made him always friendly with them, and excited to hang out. Though writing him as he was originally planned would have been interesting, it would not have made sense to the story. If he were to be an asshole, Reader would have realized their mistake and told Colress that they no longer wanted Kudari around, which would have ended their interactions, Colress giving a smug "I told you so."
I find it very sad that Kudari wanted to surprise Reader with the fact it was his and Nobori's birthday, as opposed to him getting a surprise gift or celebration. He's seen many movies and shows, but doesn't know how to correlate them with his own life. The same thing happened when Reader accidently made a double entendre about touching him in chapter 10. There are plenty of instances in various forms of media where something similar happens, that he understands perfectly, but in the context of his life, he can't envision anything of the sort happening to him.
After spending so much time alone in his room, he begins to live some of his life in his head, twisting the things Reader says. He didn't always have an infatuation for Reader. It only became a romantic interest after he was bitten, and started to think that they loved him, in turn, loving them back. He becomes obsessed with the injury, not wanting it to close because that would erase the reminder of someone loving him. Then later, when Reader mentions wishing they could leave, he interprets this in his fantasies as them wanting to run away with him.
(I should also note, they are only considered brothers because their respective DNA donors are twins, they weren't actually created as one double Hybrid that split into two Hybrids. Ingo's DNA was used to create Nobori, and shortly after, Emmet's DNA was used to create Kudari. They are the same age as each other.)
Noku do share some feelings of comradery due to the circumstances of their birth and upbringing, but they are very different. They are prone to arguments and can even be quite cruel verbally to each other. At times, Kudari has even attempted to physically injure Nobori, but is stopped by either Nobori's flames or the collar Colress has fitted him with, which is capable of administering extreme cold. The collar is around his neck, and when activated, temporarily shoots a needle into his spine that triggers the freezing of his muscles so he cannot move for a short time.
Here we have a divergence from the story. Though the hybrids have had their spats over the years, and Kudari has attacked Nobori multiple times, there was only one instance that could be considered an actual fight. That was when they argued over the space in their shared room, and Nobori had to defend himself. At all other times, Kudari has attacked, but either been stopped by Colress, Nobori teleported away, or it was just a quick warning swipe, followed by Kudari retreating. As for arguments, Nobori is much more likely to try and quell them. While I was writing, he came to be a very caring brother, being the one tasked with looking after Kudari, before and after the incident with the assistant.
If Kudari had been allowed to leave and live on his own, he would have no issues in doing so(other than people trying to hunt him). He cares for Nobori, but he does not need him emotionally, not like Nobori needs Kudari.
I'm not planning on having any Pokemon battles in the story, but I do have an idea on how Noku's moves work. As I previously stated, Colress wants to create the perfect Pokemon. One of the aspects of being "perfect" for him is being able to use all the moves a Pokemon can potentially learn at any time and not having a limit of four. He had theorized that if a Pokemon had higher intelligence, then perhaps that would make them capable of accomplishing. This is what led him to want to experiment making Hybrids. His theory was correct, and Noku can use many different moves, but being half human, they have free will and aren't "trainable" in the same way Pokemon are.
Colress' dream goal is the same, I just forgot to actually explain it in the story, settling for putting it in the notes. As of now, I have no intentions of going back and sneaking it in anywhere. Maybe in a few years time, but, maybe not. I did have him mention a couple things that hint at what he wants. He tells Kudari in chapter 4: "A Pokemon that can't be taught to listen, isn't a Pokemon worth having." And later in chapter 13, he tells the Subways Bosses: "Well, they aren't quite up to snuff with what I was attempting to create, but I believe they are a step in the right direction."
>>This brings me to what exactly Noku are capable of. Nobori can form flames from his hands, and, under extreme emotional duress, he will sometimes spew them from his mouth. Usually only when he's upset and fighting with Kudari. I envisioned him as being able to teleport short distances. Taking a glance at Serebii.net, it doesn't appear Chandelure learns the move Teleport, but they can learn the move Ally Switch which mentions teleporting, so I'm just gonna cheat and say it's close enough. Other moves Nobori uses are Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Substitute, Dark Pulse, Poltergeist, Dream Eater and Ember/Flamethrower/Mystical Fire for fire type moves. Since he was a young boy, he has communicated with spirits that he sees and hears. It looks to other people like he is talking to himself, so he only interacts with them when he is alone, though he is constantly hearing their whispers. Kudari generates electricity from his body and can produce webbing like a normal Galvantula. His fingers are sharp like claws and the moves he usually uses are Spider Web, Screech, Gastro Acid, Bug Buzz, Poison Jab and Thunder Wave/Thunderbolt/Rising Voltage for electric types. In previous generations Galvantula could learn Frustration from a TM, which I also wanted him to know, but I think it would fit more with the story if it's just his state of being, angry and lashing out, as opposed to it being a move he knows.
Noku can use all of the moves that their respective species can learn, however, there are certain moves they use more than others. Most of these aren't displayed in the story, nor did I see any place to put them in. Nobori does teleport, and Colress mentions he's good at hiding in the shadows. Kudari's purple saliva could be taken as Gastro Acid, but most of these listed moves were just meant as examples.
I did think it would be fun for Nobori to be able to use a Chandelure ability detailed in the Pokedex entries: hypnotism. I have this ability work in conjunction with his emotion draining powers. He's able to sense emotions, and if he so chooses, can take them. Normally he doesn't do this, but he first does it to Reader when he senses they are upset. Preceding this happening, Colress introduced Reader to him, and instructed him to "keep an eye out if they need help." So he takes this as an affirmation that it's okay to do so. His hypnotism is different from a Chandelure in that he doesn't use his arms, he uses eye contact. If he takes everything they feel, that person will be left in a catatonic state. At least for a little while. This is what Colress was referencing when he said Nobori could turn Reader into a 'doll.'
As the story progresses, feeling Reader's positive emotions becomes like a drug for Nobori. Especially after he senses the same feeling from them that he's experiencing. When first meeting them, he felt curiosity and an initial physical attraction. Nobori has felt attraction before, but these were only fleeting instances from glances he's made to strangers outside Team Plasma headquarters. He's never interacted with any of these people to develop anything deeper than that.
Part 2 incoming in a separate post.

Father Ingo is a good man, at least that’s what he thought, he only wanted to help others in ways he was not given, the community grew to love the stoic man, he gave great advice when anyone asked, allowed people in need to sleep in the church, there were plenty of rooms for people to rest for a night or two, always seen doing something, father Ingo is a busy man.
The town knew he was part of two, his twin Emmet having left the church and town some years ago to follow his passions, he expected Ingo to do the same and go with him, they had the same interests after all, but a Ingo didn’t, he was a responsible young man, as much as Ingo wanted to leave and become a subway boss, he believed he needed to follow in their father’s footsteps.
Emmet still visits, and the last time he did awakened something in the priest, though Ingo took a vow, Emmet stood before him with a child, a little girl with her father’s silver hair and her mother’s eyes, Emmet happily gushed about meeting the love of his life, who unfortunately couldn’t come with due to a family emergency, but Ingo was quick to take on a kind uncle role, Ingo has always been good with kids, the towns children love him, and the priest can’t help but yearn for a family of his own.
To come home to a loving wife and a couple of kids running around, a sweet domestic life is what he desperately craves.
Eventually with yet another teary goodbye, the twins themselves were never good at saying goodbye to each other even now years later.
But after his brother’s visit the priest could only think about a wife and kids of his own, what would his kids look like? Would he have twins? He wonders what kind of wife he’d end up with, would she be chaotic and kind? Would she be sweet and loving? Ingo shakes his head, he can’t think like this, he has a man of god, he took a vow of celibacy, he will never have what he desperately wants.
As the days track on Father Ingo can only describe his feelings as envious, such an awful sin, every family he saw he wanted nothing more than to be in their position, pale eyes take in the scenes before him, a child running up to their father, a wife holding her husband and child’s hand, only wanting what they have.
The priest did the only thing he could think of and prayed, he’d sit in the church after hours to pray for forgiveness of his sins, he shouldn’t be thinking this, asking for guidance to over come such corruption.
There was no answer.
For months there was never a sign or even the smallest hint of help.
But he kept trying, not allowing himself to slip further.
Then one day the church doors opened, it was so late, who was coming here at this hour? He turned to see who it was, only to see a new comer, Ingo knew every person in this town, you were not from here, but you looked so exhausted, and a little messy like you had just escaped from somewhere, small cuts littering your frame.
The priest was quick to move, instantly up and out of his seat to make his way to you.
“Hello, I am father Ingo, do you need assistance?” Worry bleeding into his voice, you looked up at him with fear and uncertainty, eyes darting around.
“I…I’m sorry for bothering you so late..I just, I didn’t know where else to go.” Your voice breaking almost broke his heart.
“Follow me, I’m sure I have clothes that have been donated in your size, you can take a bath and get those wounds cleaned, I will also set up a room for you.” And with that you two were off.
He showed you the bathroom and was swift in bringing you clothes and a towel, he almost freezes up at seeing your silhouette, but shakes his head.
‘I am a man of god, I shouldn’t be thinking like this.’ He thinks, leaving his mind can only think of you.
Once you finished your shower you looked so much better, those cuts don’t look so bad now that’s you’re clean and the clothes, while just one size bigger on you, you look great, showing you to your room he turn to him.
“Thank you for everything father, I don’t know how I could ever repay you.”
Ingo simply waves you off “you don’t need to repay me, your comfort and safety is more than enough.”
Ingo leaves you to get settled in, leaning against his bedroom door running a hand through his neat pushed back alabaster hair, messing it up, he feels a pull, like something wants to drag him back to you, he will admit you’re very pretty, you look so nervous but at ease, he wonders what happened for you to be like this.
He doesn’t want to think about it more, deciding sleep would be a better choice, maybe he can learn more tomorrow.
That night was the first night since his teen years that the priests dreams were more erotic.
‘You were so precious spread out before him, his hands caress your thighs, your slick dripping onto his sheets, you look away bashfully before pleading.
“Please Ingo, I-I want you.”
He’d love to hear more but you sound like perfection, he can’t wait to hear you moan, he grinds his dick against you dripping wet heat, his moan almost overshadowing yours.
“Please! Mmm put it in, I want it, I want you!”
Ingo was about to, letting his tip catch your entrance-‘
A loud knocking woke him up with a start “Father Ingo! Are you alright? You never sleep in like this.”
He looks at the glaring numbers of the red alarm clock, 10am, damn he did over sleep, he always wakes up with the sun.”
“I am terribly sorry sister! It seems I have delayed our schedule, I will be dressed shortly.”
Ingo quickly brushes his teeth, putting on deodorant and throws his black clothes on and was out the door.
“Again I’m very sorry for throwing us off schedule.”
The nun walking beside him shakes her head “it’s alright father, but don’t let it happen again, we still need to know what to do with the outsider that was brought in last night.”
The woman of his desires, of course, he knew he needed to face you, talk thing over to understand how he can help you, he found you still in the room he left you in.
“You know you don’t have to stay locked away in here, correct? The station is free for any passengers to wonder safely.” He sat at the small desk in the room, chair pulled up towards you.
You fidget with the ends of your sleeves “I’m sorry father, I..I was feeling a little nervous and thought staying in here would be best.”
Ingo hums in acknowledgment “that is understandable, but that leads to my next question, how did you end up here? What happened, I apologize in advance if these questions cause any pain, I just need more information to properly help.”
You two sit in silence for a few minutes, your eyebrows furrowing, you look confused and frustrated “I’m sorry, I can’t remember a lot of what happened, I remember waking up in the forest, everything was so loud I could hear people in the distance, they sounded angry.”
Ingo lays a hand on your shoulder “it’s okay, take your time.”
You take a deep breath before going on “I couldn’t remember anything, but I had the feeling I need to run and hide, so that’s what I did, I hid when I needed to and I ran, I ran and didn’t look back, I was so scared that if I did I’d see them after me, I did so until I ended up here, everything was closed so I thought the church would be a good place to at least hide in until morning.”
“Thank you for telling me, do you remember your name?”
You perk up “oh my I never told you! I am so sorry that’s so rude of me.” You were quick to give him your name.
“That is a lovely name, come now let’s get you something to eat, I’m sure I can arrange something if you wish to leave, but if you don’t I’m positive we can find a place for you here.”
Your smile melts his heart “thank you father Ingo, you’re too kind.”
After getting you food and something to drink Ingo found a place for you to work in the church as you had no idea where you even cod go if you wanted to, figuring it was best to stay somewhere safe until you could remember things.
The priest hates to admit it but in the six months you’ve been here you’ve grown on him, every night he has a wet dream about you, his frustration is through the roof, he didn’t know what else he could do, he tried distancing himself but he always crawled right back to you.
To him you’re perfect, you’re so helpful and kind, he loves when you get excited about something, your eyes light up and you do cute little moments to match your energy, or when you remind him to eat, not even that his heart feels like it’s going to burst out of his chest when you bring him food, you’re so tender and gentle with the town kids as well, seeing you indulge them in their antics was truly a sight to behold.
You made the priest crave a family that much more, he wants a family with you, he wants you to be his wife, he wants to come home to you, he wants to come home to you and a few kids of your own, his sanity is wearing thin.
The night had started like any other, he made one final prayer for guidance, before laying down in bed, he sighs, these last six months have been painful, but surely things will settle down soon, he hopes.
He is startled awake at the new weight on top of him, silver eyes meeting your glowing ones? The air leaves his body, it was you, a smirk across your face showing off your sharp teeth, decent sized leathery wings behind you, a pointed tail swaying lazily.
“You are so slow, for a priest that is expected but I could feel the sexual frustration pouring off of you.” You tease, lightly laughing at his shocked face.
“A-a demon-“
“I am, a certain kind here to make your wish come true!” His eyes are darting all over you, trying to comprehend what’s going on.
“All I need is your soul and in exchange I’ll be your little housewife, let you breed me till we have as much kids as you want.” Your voice a low purr.
Ingo wants to scream at you, to flee, but…are you still you? Are you still the person he has fallen for just a succubus? His mind is screaming at him to say no, he isn’t like this, but his heart yearns for you, you hold his heart in your hands.
“Well? I maybe a succubus but I’m not a monster, give me the word and I will leave.”
Ingo’s hand tremble, moving to grip your hips, you stare down at his flushed face, he looks so torn.
“I don’t want you to leave.” He spoke in such a hush tone almost like if he said it louder it would crush reality.
“What do you want then? Your soul in exchange for the life you want, or no, you don’t want that and I will leave, time in ticking dear, while I have all the time in the world you only have all the time in the night.” You tilt your head side to side, mimicking a ticking clock, softly humming as you await his answer.
Ingo takes a deep breathe, shakily exhaling.
“I want you, I will give you want you want.”
You perk up, tail curling up happily “and to seal the deal.” Leaning down you give him a slow tender kiss, giggling into it when he melts.
Pulling away only for his hand to come up, grabbing the back of your head and yanking you back down into a heated kiss.
You bite his bottom lip, once he opens his mouth you push your tongue inside, twisting and curling around his, his hand on your hip moving to the center of your back under your thin shirt and the other moving down resting on the nape of your neck, his occasional moan vibrates against your lips.
You peel him off of you, licking away the string of saliva that connected you two, grinding down against his hard cock.
“My a passionate kiss is all it takes? You’re precious.” You snicker at his attempts to stay quiet, you haven’t even really done anything and he is already so flushed, how cute.
“I can’t wait to taste you.” Your voice a low purr, your sharp nails cut through his shirt with ease, kissing your way down, leaving bite makes in your wake before your teeth dig into the band of his boxers and rip them off, leaving him naked for your viewing pleasure.
The poor man so flustered he tries to cover himself but your hands quickly catch his.
“Now now my dear, I want to see all of your handsome body, won’t you allow me to show you the love of a wife?” Cooing at him, he puts his hands down, clenching the sheets in his fists trying to slow his breathing.
“Such a good boy.” Was all you said before taking your inhumanly long tapered tongue and licking from base to tip, your hands holding his thighs, you don’t really mind if he moves in fact you want him to.
Ingo takes a shaky breath but swiftly smacks a hand over his mouth at the feeling of his cock hitting the back of your throat in one fell swoop, though his hand did little to stifle his loud sounds.
And you dk nothing to help him, you want everyone to hear just how lewd their favorite priest is, the sloppy wet sounds mixed with his moans the echo in the room are so hot, taking the flap end of your tail and rubbing it against your barely clothed heat, you look up wanting to see his face, but his head is thrown back.
You pull off him with a wet pop, letting one of your hands take over pumping him.
“Oh you taste so good, I wonder how many times you can cum tonight, will you cum once and be done, or will you keep cumming to make sure I’m stuffed to the brim with your seed, to make sure I’m sufficiently bred? I’d like to find out.”
His dick twitches in your hand, his noises only getting louder, you wrap your lips around his tip, licking and sucking until he floods your mouth with his cum, his hips back trying to go further in your mouth, you slurping up all you could, slowly coming off, locking eyes with his watery silver ones you lick your lips clean.
“That was quite the meal, I hope you have more for me.”
“I want to please you.”
You look at him “oh? How so?”
“Please I just, I wanna taste you.” He sounds so desperate.
“Anything for you darling.” His arms went to push himself up, only to be shoved back down, a ripping sound is heard as you toss the shredded shorts aside, climbing up so your wet cunt is hovering over his face.
“My with how you’re looking at me I might blush, I do hope you keep your word.”
His hands slide up your legs resting on your thighs, you lower yourself until he takes over, instantly moaning at your taste, his tongue slowly moves across from your clenching hole to your clit before going what you could only assume was feral, his loud voice muffled by your heat, doing his best to tongue fuck you, his flat nose applying the perfect amount of pressure against your throbbing bud.
“Mm! Oh my, you, oh fuck, are very g-good at this.” You grind against his face, letting out a breathless laugh when his eyes roll back and hips lift off the bed.
You his hands gripping your thighs tightly, pulling you closer like he is trying to devour you, you try not to squirm too much but the pleasure is becoming overwhelming, you feel him talking against you.
“Please, cum for me, I wanna taste more.” Before shoving his tongue back to you, he sounds so wrecked, you bite your lip to muffle your moans, your back arches, grinding your hips against his face faster to ride out your orgasm, huffing you slide off his face to stop him from overstimulating you too soon since he didn’t want to stop.
Ingo whines “but you taste so good, please just one more?”
“Aw such a easy to corrupt priest you are father, maybe I can get you addicted to so much more.”
Moving down you wiggle your ass against his dick, cooing when his hips buck up, he is biting his fist to silence himself, but you’re sure everyone already knows.
“I’m gonna make you a daddy.”
Alabaster eyes widen only to roll back and close once you slammed yourself down on his crotch, in one swift motion taking his dick inside you, you dig your nails into his chest as you balance yourself, you underestimated how much he’d stretch you out.
Once you got comfortable you begin to bounce up and on his cock, the harsh wet slapping of skin echoes in his room along with the his moans, you slap a hand over his mouth to try to tone it down.
“As much as I-Mm! Love your sounds, I don’t n-need the whole town waking up.”
Ingo’s hands swiftly move to your waist now that you’re keeping his volume level, free to hold you, his mind is sent reeling at how warm you are, he has never felt such pleasure in his life, your wet walls hold his so snug, he doesn’t think he is going to last long.
It only took several more thrusts for him to cum, you feel the warmth spreading through you, you bounce lazily a few more times making sure he rides it out before he falls limp on the bed, panting harshly.
“Is that all you had? I could’ve sworn you wanted a family.” You tease, laughter quickly turning into a gasp, the room around your spins and you find yourself face down.
“Hey! What are you-“
You’re cut off by him shoving himself back into you, you bite the pillow beneath you to stop yourself from screaming out.
His thrusts are brutal, hips snapping against yours making you move up the bed before he pulls you back against him to get deeper inside you making you let out a high pitched whine.
You feel him lean down, his chest against your back before he whispers in your ear.
“You aren’t leaving this bed until I’m done with you.”
Your spade tail moves excitedly at the promise, giving away your excitement, which he grabs near the base and yanks you back.
“AAHH! Mmm fuck! Oh fuck, g-gentle!”
“With the way your cunt is clenching?” He sounds so smug.
His hips never stopping, it all feels too good, he keeps abusing your sweet spot, reaching so much deeper.
“Im gonna cum! Ingo!” You cry out once your orgasm hit you, your voice only getting higher cause he doesn’t stop, your arms hold the pillow close to you.
“More! More! You fuck me sooo good!” Your mind is getting clouded, the pleasure taking over, more so when he cuts again, making sure you take all of it, his teeth dig into your neck to muffle his sounds.
He pulls out, letting you partially letting you fall limp but keeping your ass in the air, letting you catch your breath before he flips you over so he can see your face, back now to the bed you look up at the debauched priest.
“I hope you’re ready for another round.”
You only look at him in shock, you genuinely didn’t think a priest like him would have it in him to keep going, but you’re more than happy to oblige.
He moves your legs, hands gripping the back of your knees folding you, nudging his dick right back inside you, he feels so much better like this the angle gives him perfect access to all your sweet spots.
Ingo is determined to make sure you he breeds you properly you swear you can feel him in your stomach, tears spilling down your face, eyes crossing as you’re fucked dumb.
“A-AH! Please! K-keep bullying me! Mmfuck! Bully your cock into me! C’mon mooore!”
You moan like whore, arching your best you can, your arms wrap around his shoulders dragging your nails and digging them into his back.
“You’re so good, oh! G-gonna make me cum! Mmm come on, cum for me, let me fill you one last time, just cum for me, beloved.”
He slams his lips into your for a bruising kiss, his and your drool drip down your chin in the messy kiss, his hips flattering, he is so close, he just needs to push you over the edge one last time.
He grinds his cock against your insides, bullying his way into your womb, and giving enough frictions to your clit you cum, squealing against his lips your grip on him tightens when you feel him spill more of his cum into you with a loud moan of his own, he falls limp, resting a bit on top of you, softly whimpering when your teeth bite into his neck, enough to draw blood.
Lifting up he looks at you, you’re so perfect in his eyes, even fucked out like this, he offers you everything, even if you weren’t a demon he’d happily give you his all.
~~~~~~~~~~
Years had past since then, he left and moved to Nimbasa city where he was much closer to his brother, who was ecstatic to finally have his brother back, getting him a job at the subway he worked at, making his way to the second subway boss of Gear station, even more so Emmet was happy to see his brother so happy, and he understood why once he saw how to two acted with each other, the wedding was private and beautiful, Ingo couldn’t have asked for anything better, you looked gorgeous, he told you you looked like an angel which gave you a good laugh.
Ingo had everything he could have ever wanted, he thought unlocking the door to his house.
“Oh! Dad’s home!”
“Dad!” The subway boss laughs, happily kneeling to scoop his kids up in a hug.
“We missed you!” The kids cheer, both one a year a part.
“I missed you three very much as well! Anything happen today while I was at work?”
“Oh! One of my tooths are loose!” His eldest cheered showing her dad the loose sharp tooth.
“Oh wow! Look at you growing up!” His attention was to his youngest next.
“I made a friend at school today! We both like ghost Pokémon while everyone else says their creepy, we think they are so cute!” His son looks so happy, pale silver eyes that matched Ingo’s stared back at him, happily awaiting his answer.
“Haha bravo! Both of you!”
“Okay my sweeties, time to go wash up, dinner will be ready shortly.” An echoing yell of ‘yes mom!’ Was all you both got before the kids run off.
You finally get your turn, kissing him, arms around his neck while his rest on your waist.
“Welcome back home my dear husband.” Lightly laughing “it’s been how many years and you still blush at that, how cute.”
“I’m happy to be back, my beloved.”
Ingo feels no regret, only happiness and content, he has everything he could ask for, a loving wife, two adorable kids, and a brother just around the corner, life couldn’t be better.
A what-if, some angst, and comfort for your Enemies to Brothers AU. I was inspired by the piece of fanart by @fluorescent-air-fresheners as well as the recent ask about nightmares.
I imagine that it bothers Ingo a bit that Emmet can remember, yet he can't still. But at this point he can't do much.
Which doesn't stop his brain from churning with throughts and feelings. It rotates that revelation from all angles and adds it to everything that's been rushing in his unconscious for months.
A few days later, Ingo has an intense nightmare that'll he never regain his memories. (The fear is older than Emmet's arrival.) The ending confronts him with his fear that'll never remember even his old self. The nightmare's as disorienting as it is heartbreaking.
Unlike with the Kid Emmet AU, the brothers still sleep at different places even after Emmet remembers. Ingo, thankfully, has his team as well as Lady Sneasler and there might be the other Wardens nearby to ground him.
It does make his disassociation worse again over the next days, though, when he's on his own. He goes to Emmet before it can become a deeper issue, hoping it might help to talk with him.
You know, I'm glad you brought this up because I've thought about this too. I imagine it would bother Ingo that Emmet remembers but he doesn't. He tries to pretend it doesn't, tries to convince himself that his brother remembering is enough for him. Don't get me wrong--he's happy that at least one of them remembers where they came from, but at the same time... every time Emmet describes their mother, or their childhood home, or the Battle Subway, he feels an agonized aching in his chest.
He starts to wonder what's wrong with him. Why can't he remember anything about himself? Why can't he remember his own mother? Why can't he remember???
Even when Emmet tells him stories about them growing up, he has a hard time feeling as if he'd actually experienced those things. It seems almost as if it all happened to someone else. Now he knows who he was before, but does he remember? Not really.
He was never really bothered by having amnesia before, but he really, really is now, and it gets to be too much for him to get his memories second-hand.
He consequently starts to avoid spending time with Emmet. He makes excuses about being too busy to eat with him and battle him and in general spends a lot of time in the Highlands being elusive. Emmet notices the way that his brother seems to be dodging him and it makes him upset. It's clear to him that Ingo is avoiding him, but why? Was it something he did? Something he said? He can't figure it out, but its frustrating. It feels like they're moving backwards, and after so much forward progress!
Finally Emmet catches Ingo while he's trying to slip out of a joint clan meeting. He has to physically grab him by the arm to get him to turn around because he isn't listening to him as he tells him to wait. He looks angry when he whirls around to face him and opens his mouth to start to say something before Emmet cuts him off.
"What did I do wrong?" he demands. "Why are you avoiding me?"
This question, along with the concern in Emmet's eyes, makes all of the anger and angst stockpiling in his chest disintegrate all at once. Ingo wanted to stay mad, to continue avoiding the issue, but now he can't. So instead he bows his head and asks Emmet if they can talk.
Finally Ingo breaks down and confesses about the nightmares, about his fears, about how bothered he is by not being able to remember anything. Emmet is quiet the entire time--this is the first time Ingo has ever admitted to being so concerned about his lack of memory, and he'd never considered that he might make him feel worse by sharing what he remembers. When he's done, Ingo feels better that he was finally able to get this off his chest, but Emmet feels worse, wondering how he could have not noticed how his brother felt.
"I'm sorry, Ingo," he says after a while. "I had no idea you felt that way. I can stop talking about our past, if you want me to."
His apology makes Ingo jerk a little in surprise. "What? No, it's not your fault. And I don't mind you talking about it, it's just... sometimes it's too much."
The next time Emmet speaks, there is an edge to his voice. "Well, maybe next time you should just tell me so. I don't really like when you disappear like that, you know."
Ingo feels a pang in his chest at the words, apologizes for going AWOL, and promises not to avoid Emmet again. And while he still worries about never being able to recover his memories, it makes him feel better to be able to confide in his brother about these fears.
I feel like I should put down my actual thoughts about Ingo balding because I actually do have some thoughts about it and they aren't necessarily simple nor straightforwards ones to describe.
First of all, for anyone who's upset about it, honestly I think that's fair. We haven't had any idea what his or Emmet's hairline has looked like for the past >10 years, and this latest piece of concept art from the artbook doesn't erase the last >10 years of ideas and headcanons that people have had for what their hair looks like. And there are some VERY neat ideas that have been pitched in this regard over the years! Also given that characters within the Pokemon franchise tend to skew younger, I think it was reasonable for none of us to have predicted that he's balding! Personally the thing that I dislike the most about this idea that Ingo is balding is how much it just doesn't mesh well with the shapes at play with his character design. Namely the fact that he and Emmet are very arrow shaped. How wide their jackets splay out, the shape of their sideburns, mouths, eyes, the way their sleeves flare out, and how they're always pointing at things, I think that these are all deliberate character design choices to evoke the idea and image of arrows onto the audience. And I think that their hair should also reflect this arrow motif to their designs. Primarily, I think that their hair, whatever it looks like, should reflect how Ingo is an arrow pointing up and Emmet is an arrow pointing down. And the smooth roundness to this balding concept just... Bugs me... I'd only really feel alright with it if Emmet is rocking one hell of a widow's peak. There isn't a whole lot to Emmet and Ingo's designs that really get across the up arrow and down arrow idea, so to not use that concept in their hair, which is one of the few places where you could play with it (given that they're identical twins otherwise), is CRIMINAL to me! Also him having less hair like this makes me worry about the structural integrity of those sideburns. Those sideburns are beautiful gifts from Arceus itself, and out of anything else for Ingo to lose, PLEASE don't take those glorious, confusing sideburns from us!
Secondly, I'm not entirely certain that this is something that is supposed to be taken as what Ingo's hairline is canonically supposed to look like in the first place. When you look at the concept art, it's pretty clear that the purpose of that image is to give everyone an idea of what Ingo's face looks like when it's not obscured by his hat. The second image of him without hair is there to get an idea of what is going on underneath the coat, aka what he looks like without his uniform on at all. However we all know that we aren't actually going to ever see Ingo without his hat on within the game. And since we're never going to see him without the hat anyway, maybe the concept artists just didn't want to bother with trying to figure out what Ingo's hairline would actually look like, and basically just drew a line so that his head didn't just look weirdly and suddenly blank. Or maybe they did it because they thought it's funny. Or to mess with Ingo stans. In any case, this is concept art, and I don't necessarily think that it's canon, nor that it's even supposed to be taken as canon. This is a character that we've known for >10 years, and maybe they didn't want to step on any toes regarding the designs for his hair and so didn't bother with trying to invent something for this game. Therefore, personally I won't take it as canon unless it's actually shown in one of the games. Additionally, it's not like they can't just change their minds and give him a different design for his hair later on. They've redesigned and changed their minds on character's hairlines in the past. No reason to think they won't do it again.
However all of that being said, I don't entirely dislike the idea of Ingo balding either. In fact many MANY artists have already drawn him in a way that pulls it off well, and makes him look incredibly cute, regardless of the receding hairline. And given that before I am anything else within the Pokemon fandom, I am a Giovanni stan, a receding hairline and lack of eyebrows has never been a problem for me when it comes to my favorite characters. (This isn't my first rodeo in terms of being in complete denial over a favorite character of mine having no eyebrows!) So honestly, I don't mind, and it is a design choice that continues to grow on me.
But also... Ingo balding is probably just the funniest design choice that Game Freak could have made for what Ingo's hair looks like! If this is supposed to be canon that is. In fact, it makes it even better if this was supposed to be the case this entire time! Like... Emmet and Ingo have always looked like they could be anywhere from their mid-20's to their 40's in terms of age. The fact that their hair is naturally white really obfuscates things. But if this balding business is indeed supposed to be canon and these rumors that Ingo is supposed to be in his 50's are true, that means that they're likely on the older side of this spectrum... And just... AHAHAHA! Game Freak just tricked thousands to maybe millions of people into thirsting for a 40 year old man for >10 years! This Japanese sex icon is literally just a balding 40 year old man! That's fuckin' HILARIOUS to me! If Ingo was supposed to be balding this entire time, that makes what happens to him even MORE hilarious! It would really just emphasize how he's Just A Guy™ who was transported to Meiji Pokemon Hokkaido for seemingly no apparent reason! This man really is just a middle-aged rail worker who has no idea what's happening! But also it makes Ingo even MORE of a himbo! My dude, you're 40. WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DESTROYING EMMET'S POOR ELEKTROSS WITH MOLD BREAKER HAXORUS!? If you're in your 20's and are young and reckless, fine. But you're a fully grown-ass man. You MUST realize what you've done, right!? He's been a grown-ass adult for 20 years and he never figured out that his face isn't very expressive!? Ingo, you dumb but sweet bitch! I love you! And ultimately this is a children's franchise, so the funniest option may just be the best option, tbh.
So yes. I have mixed feelings about all of this. I don't know if I want it to be canon or not. And I don't know what I'm ultimately going to have my personal headcanon be. If I were to draw them without their hats, I don't know which direction I would want to go. If it does end up actually being canon, I can accept that. But I doubt that we're going to actually ever know, so that just leaves me conflicted. And I don't know how to feel about it. It's just kinda... Complicated in a very odd way...
