one thing thats so interesting about being a vegetarian is you get to hear all about everyones hypothetical activism that they care about very deeply when talking specifically about your diet and why it's stupid, but literally will never bring up ever again in any other context
#good idea generator#ppl will honest to god hit me with a 'well what about the dmg caused by plant agriculture' when i say im vegetarian for the environment#oh please tell me more about all the things youre doing to try to minimize your impact on the environment#and all the things you know about agriculture. in your infinite wisdom of [checks notes] doing the exact same thing you always have#or is the argument that because individual choices make little difference that we shouldnt even try or talk about it in case its annoying?#its not necessarily that these people arent making good points also#its just that when you have these same conversations 75 times over and over and over and OVER and get nowhere#it starts to become obvious most people learn these arguments in order to avoid genuinely interrogating their eating practices#either on an individual or communal level. am not asking you to cut out meat or go vegan (not a realistic demand of everyone on earth)#but i AM asking that you please do some self reflection on why the idea makes you so defensive#and about what exactly is so terrible of the idea that we may need to produce and consume less meat#i thought about 75 disclaimers i could put on this post but honestly if they become necessary it would prove my point

One night on a cabin trip with us, and it's very apparent that Poppy is an only dog-child. Honestly pretty interesting to see a 3yo make social blunders that've gotten picked off our other dogs as puppies - things like trying to lick the others' bowls while they're still eating, pushing past the dog being given affection to get attention, jostling and knocking into the others at inopportune times. And then being very very sad and sorry each time she got reprimanded by either of them.
#poppy used to take corrections as a challenge so nice to see her actually try to settle things#obvsly i don't let my dogs ~*work things out*~ on their own but#as long as communication is reasonable and effective and achieves a desirable result with minimal stress on all parties#we're good#and sparta especially is a solid communicator with very clear boundaries and a long escalation ladder#troj is at a point now where she comes off too strong and is too defensive - she used to say way too little and got trampled a few times#i think she'll find a happy medium she just needs a little more confidence and chill#her and pops have been a poor match in the past - but they did well this time!

There's something so fascinating about people who don't understand that Steve, by AV1, is in his 20s. No, those 70 years don't "technically count". He has zero lived experience for those years in the ice. It's like if someone from the 1940s hopped in a time machine to 2012 - You wouldn't claim that person is 70 years older, would you? It's the exact same for Steve. No time has passed for him. He closed his eyes in the 40s and opened them in 2012. How is there still confusion about this?

My habit of keeping a towel in the delivery car really paid off today I had to stop and pick a turtle up off a busy road and not having to actually touch this muddy ass beast was very helpful in making it a very quick rescue mission. Get out, move turtle, go back to work *without* having to retain muddy turtle hands until I can get back to the store to wash hands. Marvelous. I love towel

Drove for the first time in 3 years today and I got tailgaited, brights-flashed, followed, and cussed at by a strange man in a stupid sports car after doing literally Nothing wrong
#i was so scared to start driving after getting narcolepsy diagnosis and taking such a long break but i finally felt brave enough with my#meds and stuff and i wanted to take my cousin out. she is also driving now so she was copiloting and helping me the whole time and neither#of us can figure out what happened... it was so weird. im still shaking and teeth chattering like an hour later and my tics are really bad#now thanks a lot you jerk. its always sports cars and pick up trucks i swear... but ive never had this happen#and i havent driven in a while but we really eased into it in the neighborhoods first and stuff and then this happened on a backroad with#minimal traffic...#ive always been a very confident and defensive driver and i cant think of anything i was doing that could have ticked the guy off... it was#so weird.#he literally pulled over and put his hazard lights on bc he was in front of me. and as soon as i went around him he jerked his car over#right behind me really fast and then did all of the stuff i mentioned#he wasnt following us for long so we didnt have to call the police or anything but it was so scary i hate california drivers#my post

#me.txt#i have never played and will never play world of warcraft. i played ffxiv which was better than wow in most ways and i still didn't like it#mmorpgs just aren't for me#but...#mmorpgs are fascinating. a little microcosm of our society#but more violent and lawless#humans allowed to be their best and worst with minimal consequences#individual economies sometimes. pandemic research. ffxiv has a housing crisis#and i wish i could keep acting like this is a purely academic interest but unfortunately i found a blorbo :/#in my defense anduin is ALSO very fascinating because he basically grew up with the player#i've seen people talk about how they grew up with them or talk about how it kinda felt like they helped raise him#i've actually done the math and he's (kinda) consistently a similar age to me throughout expansions#that's so cool!#it's definitely not something you see often. suddenly you have to wonder about a video game character growing old and dying? as you do?#but again it's not purely academic. i only like 1) good good sunshine boys 2) mean powerful women 3) villains#and an optional 4) traumatized pretty boys (this is optional because of the large venn diagram overlap with 1) and 3))#and. WELL.

#it's me again about to make the enzymes in my pancrea everyone else's problem too <3#anyway it sucks to have psych meds that are life-changing for me that specifically effect my appetite#bc then schedule becomes even more important which good news! improves on said meds and bad news! gets worse when sudden adjustments have#to be made!! anyway today was. not great. for me health wise. and on that note i always feel the need to be so defensive about having my#blood sugar in check like it's some moral failure of me not to when!!! sometimes it's not! sometimes it's high!! sometimes that's not good!#when i feel bad from blood sugar stuff that's not healthy!! but health is sometimes not 100% achieveable and i know i am feeling this on#such a smaller scale compared to other illnesses but it makes me want to scream of course i Want to be healthy and i Try My Best but#the fact is the natural state of my body is not one of health. there is a genetic issue here that makes a baseline state of health and#comfort in my body something that i have to put thought into every fucking day and even if that thought it minimal it's an extra step to#get somewhere some people are just born having pre-taken care of for them#idk man maybe it's just me maybe i just don't know any other diabetics who are my age/have the same type as me (because it's so fucking#understudied and underdiagnosed) and i don't even know if i'm going to say this in a way that makes sense but it feels like 'diabetes'#is not a condition that is in any way considered impactful in daily life and my suspicion is that because it's so fucking common if more#consideration were given to how it affects people more accomodation and understanding would be expected for it and we#simply can't have that now can we (i think. if i am not entirely in left field on this. this is true of a lot of common chronic conditions#but i obviously can't speak to any others#i just feel like we downplay literally so many chronic health issues that the negative impacts on daily life get kinda neutralized#because whenever i actually walk through the fact that i have to think so hard about food all the time i realize oh. well. how exhausting#it is and how much more prone to disordered eating i have been since diagnosis because of it#anyway just currently in a state of being really fucking done with talking about my diabetes and having my reflex response anytime i say#anything about it to be 'oh it's not that bad!! i have my sugar under control!' like i am a bad person if it's not under control for#something i was quite literally born with and tends to be unpredictable and my doctor literally knows so little about in actuality because#again. highly understudied. : ))))))))#idk what this was i'm just feeling grrrr about being diabetic for specific reasons right now#personal

I really really hope whatevers wrong with Me is endometriosis or SOMETHING my doctors can pinpoint to treat effectively within the next month. I'm begging. Universe u do this for me and I'll hike again, write again, draw characters again, get to visit friends again. Please please please
#rant#my health issues#if its endo they can cut me open and take it out. and then be aware to Check for it if symptoms flare up again#look at this point i dont even care if i get cut up again if its a positive for me. please!!!#or if they can pinpoint what the fuck it is. like if its truly some constipation issue somehow#spiraling into full on tachycardia fainting intense pain intense bloating etc??? then my doctor can give me#stronger laxative meds or somerhing until the side symptoms like pain and bloating and vomiting#and tachycardia subside. im okay with meds forever if i can EAT again and WALK and do my normal life stuff without collapsing#please please pleasr#i always keep saying maybe its X and i know i do#but u know in my defense. endo would make sense (i know i say this every time but)#like all my health issues in life have always been some stuctural fix with surgery issue#i never had anything like ibs before age 24. i was totally normal#and then post gallbladder and scar tissue removal?? i was perfect again cause it was NOT ibs c the first time#now im even sicker. with much more symptoms and ibs c medicine#is barelt keeping me minimally functional. like its keeping me out of hospital thats all#and like. it sure would make sense if i just got scar tissue that needs to be taken out again
