#in ho is unredeemable
So my prediction for the end. Inho leaves his family for mistress when given an ultimatum to choose. Then realises that all the glitters is not gold. Mistress is leagues apart from his devoted wife. Too late to correct the mistake. He is stuck with facing the consequence of his actions.
Maybe the whole hospital find out and he And seunghee are ostracized.
Children choose their mom over dad.
MIL obviously throws a tantrum over this. Men make mistakes. You should have been a better wife. Wants her son back in their ancestral house.
Jung Sook embarks on a successful career, is happier in life. No romance with Dr roy cause this is a Kdrama.
Jung Sook friend maybe starts dating Dr roy.

Time for my annual Christmas reading
Tumblr media
[ID The glossy red cover of The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror, by Christopher Moore. End ID]
Chapter 1: Christmas crept into Pine Cove like a creeping Christmas thing: dragging garland, ribbon, and sleigh bells, oozing eggnog, reeking of pine, and threatening festive doom like a cold sore under mistletoe...
In another Christmas story, Dale Pearson, evil developer, self-absorbed woman hater, and seemingly unredeemable curmudgeon, might be visited in the night by a series of ghosts who, by showing him bleak visions of Christmas future, past, and present, would bring about in him a change to generosity, kindness, and a general warmth toward his fellow man. But this in not that kind of Christmas story, so here, in not too many pages, someone is going to dispatch the miserable son of a bitch with a shovel. That's the spirit of Christmas yet to come in these parts. Ho, ho, ho.

Writers: Astruc, we need to make Lila a compelling villain.
Astruc: Oh ho ho, more aliases you say?
Writers: No! We need ways to resolve Gabriel's endi-
Astruc: Even more torturing Chloe, you say?
Writers: Goddamnit Astruc...
Astruc: Oh! Make Chloe a superhero and then take away her miraculous to rub in the fact she's utterly unchangeable and unredeemable despite being a 14-year old with lack of proper support beyond just repression of her feelings and trauma!
Writers:...yeah Astruc. Yeah...

I’m listening 👀 (also not me just going back through the legacyverse and oc stuff because I’m Invested)
Mmmmmmmm okay-
The Alignment Swap isn’t even a Full AU, just some fun thoughts I played around with until I decided to give it all one home:
Jesse’s still the Elemental Master of Surprise, and the Fuchsia Ninja, but he’s got more of Olivia’s role of being in an extremely gray area: still kinda caring about the people he’s close to, but much more focused on furthering his own agenda. He deems himself “evil and unredeemable” after failing to save Miranda, and instead of “masking” himself as a hero, he “masks” himself as the villain he thinks he is. He embraces the more entertainer/trickster side of his personality that “canon” him tends to suppress when he’s not Fuchsia. Have you heard “Ladies and Gentlemen” by Saliva? That’s his bad boy theme asdfghjk
Miranda still gets crushed by a building, but comes to the realization that she could just improve her whole body with mechanics instead of just half, thus she works on essentially turning herself into a Nindroid and tries to convince others to do the same (there’s also a bit more to this but that would cross into canon spoilers SO NOPE–) Just know she goes a little ‘evil scientist route’...and also blames Jesse for making her like this, especially when he confronts her about it.
Olivia, then, I guess takes on Jesse’s role as support for the Ninja, and instead of seeing the Elemental Compass as something to exploit, it becomes something to protect for her. She’s still part of the Shark Army, but works as a double agent instead (along the same lines as Bridget)
Aurora’s bitter about not inheriting the Element of Ice, and abuses her visions to manipulate others into doing what she wants, and instead makes it her life’s work to somehow steal it away from her father. This leads her to Julien to brainstorm an idea for how to do it. She does this in the form of creating a son that should–technically–steal it for her, and from there she could manipulate Zane into giving it up to her...but it backfires.
Harleigh...technically doesn’t really change personality-wise lmao, but instead of protesting her dad she sticks by his side the whole time and assists him with his schemes (which, still, is the opposite of what she’d actually want to be doing, technically).
Sunni basically just becomes Jay’s bully instead of his biggest fan cuz she feels jaded about being rejected asdfghjkhgfd
Meanwhile the Heartstopper AU is just a series of details/ideas that have been living in my mind rent free since April:
Cole has “Nick’s Life”, but he’s the one that was outed as gay (with people still pushing him to be with girls instead).
Jesse has “Charlie’s Life”, but he’s the one exploring his bisexuality (but absolutely definitely likes Cole, he knows for sure).
Miranda would be Tori but a younger sister (still popping up at random times to scare Jesse asdfghj that’s too perfect)
Kai and Skylor would be Tao and Elle (which I debated with myself for a very long time over it but the more I think about it the more I see it’s a GREAT fit, except Kai’s the one trying to “protect” Cole from Jesse snksnksnk)
And after much ado about nothing I have recently pinned Nya and Olivia as Tara and Darcy because when ELSE will I have an excuse to further explore that potential angle for their relationship??? Plus Kai and Nya still get to be siblings
Zane would be Issac and/or Aled, and I have no idea how I’d squeeze Lloyd and Jay into this but I’m ruminating (did play around with the idea of Lloyd as Issac, Zane as Aled who would eventually date a nonbinary Pixal, and Jay as Michael without potential shipping with Mira but ho hum we’ll see how far that gets)
I want Vania as Imogen. I must.
Chad’s Ben and Harry rolled up into one because I can’t feasibly give those roles to anyone else I love them too much hhhh (just this time around Cole would be the one that’s “old friends” with Chen instead of Kai I suppose while Chen is Jesse’s Ex)
Also ‘Want Me’ is like a flagship Aftershock song for me so there’s that
Anyway I do wanna doodle some of my ideas for these one day so be on the look out for that (such as Miranda constantly spooking Jesse, Cole giving Jesse the nickname ‘Jess’, Cole punching Chen (Yeah!!! YEAH!!!!), The Snow Day Scene, Cole carrying Jesse at the beach (AAAAAAA), and the First Kiss Scene *lies down*)
Like I said very guilty pleasure but my brain goes brrrr and I follow the hum

Started my annual listen of "The Stupidest Angel" by Christopher Moore while I enjoy a Pepper Cream Soda cigar and the Starward Two Fold Australian Whisky. Notes of cream soda, jam, caramel, and wood in this bottle. Not bad and not heavy on the wine flavors you get from other whisky aged in wine barrels. ..... Your idea of who a character is is always going to be influenced by who you want or need them to be. You rarely get all of a character's motivations and reasons for doing things presented on a silver platter, unless they're the pov character (and even then you don't get everything). There's always things there for you to fill in and well, especially in the case of morally grey characters the things you fill in can be very charitable towards the character or they can be always assuming the worst possible option.
If a character gets a good redemption arc, usually enough of their reasons are explored and they properly apologize and are shown to regret their actions and genuinely change and that usually gets most of the fandom around to also seeing them in a charitable light.
When a redemption arc is pulled off badly or there isn't even one but the character is in some other way grey or can be argued to have good excuses.... That's when you split a fandom.
Snape, Kylo Ren and Azula are all examples of this. Idk about Kylo, I didn't see the last movie but neither Snape nor Azula get redemption arcs. Snape bc he dies before he could get a proper one, what passes for a redemption arc here is more a haha he was good the whole time, he loved lily anyway he's dead now so he's not gonna apologize to anyone and you're not gonna get an explanation for why he bullied kids, Azula bc the show ended before they could give her one, her main defense is that she's 14 when she does all that fucked uo shit and has the worlds worst dad for a father.
Now if you resonate with these characters (bc azula was 14 and abused and alone and snape was an abused bullied poor kid who only ever had one friend he lost bc of his own mistakes and kylo woke up to see hos own uncle stand over him with a lightsaber) you're gonna want to fill in those holes with good things - snape actually just bullied kids to keep his cover or dumbledore made him or harry is an unreliable narrator and it wasn't that bad fir example.
You're also gonna write or read fic that gives them the redemption arc they didn't get - azula gets to bond with zzko and learns how to be a person and interact with people without setting them on fire, snape apologizes about all the stuff and maybe actually makes a friend apart from lily for once and learns to be a person without constantly getting torn between two masters.
But if you don't resonate with them? If snape reminds you of thst horrible teacher you had who bullied you relentlessly or azula of your terrible toxic abusive sister or kylo of your creepy stalker ex boyfriend.... Well then seeing people like those characters, actively come up with reasons why their behaviour wasn't so bad or they didn't mean it or writing about other characters forgiving them... It's gonna feel like a blow. Like they're excusing your abusers. And you're gonna be angry which is fair.
But at the same time if you identify with these characters for whatever reason hearing people condemn them and say they don't deserve redemption is also gonna hurt! If you've made mistakes and redemption arcs give you hope bc it means maybe you can grow from your mistakes and be forgiven too, then hearing that "they're evil and unredeemable!" hurts.
The important thing is that no one is really wrong here. The version of the character you have in your head is probably evil and unforgivable. But the version the other person is thinking of, maybe has the same name and technically the same canon background but they're still completely different.
So I guess the main takeaway is don't harass people over which fictional characters they love or hate. Don't go into each other's spaces to yell about hiw great/horrible this character is. We all need different things from fiction and that's okay as long as we respect each other

Hey! Do you have a list of your favourite K-drama villains by any chance? I hope you are having a great day 💕
Oooh, villains!
Seo In Woo (Psychopath Diary): I haven’t liked a villain this much in a long time. A truly messed up and unredeemable serial killer who become obsessed with Yook Dong Sik because he’s super gay for him and wants to help him become the killer he thinks he is. I mean this guy is just a total stalker for Yook Dong Shik and I’m living for their confusion and hijinks.
Baek Kyung (Extraordinary You): I loved Extraordinary You so much and Baek Kyung was super frustrating, but in a laughable Boys Over Flowers way so he was predictable. Plus, he was an excellent contrast to Haru so that dynamic really worked for me. Did I want him to become a better person? Yes, but then again, he’s a villain… Actually, the writer is the REAL villain here am I right?
Tumblr media
Oh Se Ho (My Strange Hero / Bok Soo’s Back): Man, I guess I love a big pouty baby. One who hasn’t fully processed his feelings but comes from a crappy wealthy family and deflects all of his insecurities on the people trying to help him.
Song Ga Kyung (Search: WWW): A hot head bitch who wants her company to rank the highest, Song Ga Kyung looks great in a power suit and will do anything to be first. She has a depth of character that makes her really interesting.
Ma Wong (Hwayugi / A Korean Oddysey): Ma Wong is the hilarious enemy of Son Oh Gong and the reason he is cursed, and when they move in together I died. Like two demons in-fighting and co-habitation in modern day? Yes Please.
Tumblr media
Jin Yong Tae (Terius Behind Me): I love a villain with ridiculous quirks and I can say this dude might be my favorite villain ever? He drives his employees crazy, thinks he’s rich and powerful but is a stone cold coward. Watching him sleeping in a tent, eating nothing but bread under terius’ watch was just too funny.
Baek Tae Min (Chicago Typewriter): This guy is treated like crap by his family and is also fated to be a horrible person in a previous life - I mean he can’t win. He’s one of those people who has a chance to redeem himself but just can’t fight his destiny. At least he’s super cute.

maybe i should make a uquiz that’s “which useless thing in my cupboard are you?”
options will be: - cornstarch (could have potential if it tried a little bit harder, like its brethren corn flour and cornmeal, but nay) - 3 massive things of soy sauce because i accidentally bought two back in the day and my roommate left me hers (salty ho, enjoyable in small quantities, not even going to try convert all of this into digestible calories) - 3 massive things of vinegar (completely useless. that’s all. why did i buy a big fancy thing of garlic flavored rice vinegar?) - bag of chia seeds (has real potential, maybe shouldn’t be on this list, nice egg replacer, makes things weird sometimes) - that thing of ben & jerry’s with the worst freezer burn any thing of ice cream has ever had (v. attractive but just the. worst. ever. unredeemable.) - big bag of frozen mangos (maybe has potential but no one’s given it a chance) - these frozen banana pieces covered in dark chocolate my roommate left in the freezer (just weird and off-putting) - thing of snap peas roommate left with an expiration date of 2009 (literally died 11 years go. why is it here? terrifying.)

Not sure if the English subtitles are correct. But as per it, both Inho And junk sook have saved each other in the phone as jeong min's Appa/Amma.
Imagine someone reading that and instead of realising the obvious. Start a new rumour.
Like jung sook is Inho's mistress and baby mama, that why she got the job at her advance age. Also their kid has a similar name as Inho's legal kid. Both parties refusing to reveal the truth about their marriage.
Comedy of errors!!?!

Ho-ly shit, I couldn’t bring myself to crop this page.
Holy hell, Endeavor admitted that he saw himself in that monster, the one that he was for so long, and the one he could very well end up becoming. And to show that he doesn’t want to be like that anymore, he unleashed a plus ultra attack.
...
I was about to say we crossed the even horizon, but that wasn’t the case at all. Endeavor is pushing himself beyond his limits, sure, but it is detrimental to his health. Oh hell, that’s probably close to what Midoriya did in the sports festival, I wouldn’t be surprised if it really affected Endeavor’s performance as a hero.
Also, he said that he hated the motto, so fuck him, now there’s no way out, he’s completely unredeemable.

I know HO likes to try to be the first to do a storyline but I think bringing back a rapist is too much. I cant see it ending well they've either gonnas have him die by breda or saving someone to so they be like see hes changed. It doesnt feel like it will work as a long term sl
I’m not someone who thinks all rapists are always, in every case, forever unredeemable... but Finn is neither a charismatic, interestic or sympathetic character to me. So I don’t get why they chose to bring him back, of all people.
Also, HO is not the right show to try and do justice to a complicated and delicate issue like this one. They always ruin everything with their illogic “shock” twists.

"Rey is a great protagonist because she's never really tempted by the dark and the audience never believes she will be tempted" Honestly this is the part that makes me a lot more so-so about Rey's arc so far rather than feeling very gung-ho about it. Rey's choices are obvious, when I feel like it would be much more compelling for her to be tempted and overcome it: otherwise, it does get a bit close to "some people are just Good and some people are just Bad".
First of all, in what kriffing universe is such a character a great protagonist? Great role model, arguably, but protagonist? What sort of baby food culture does it take to frame such mindset, because sure as hell not visionary mythologizing popculture that is Star Wars?
Tumblr media
I mean, let's face it, I don't think anyone that doesn't a) still think Rey will turn out to be a wholesome Skywalker, b) see her as a girl to be got by the worthiest male or c) view SW as a serious political revenge fantasy in which she's their self insert fighting whatever ideas they don't like is very gung-ho about Rey's facade persona that I'd call a prozac ad. This is though why I have to hope there's some serious subvertion in store, in which case the more self congratulating audience is about Rey of sunshine now, the stronger the impact will be later. Again, if this is LF's idea of a great female protagonist then sorry but in three years this trilogy's perceived main character will be Kylo - especially if he dies unredeemed. If, on the other hand, her story is to make us feel how we would watching little Anakin without knowing he'll become Vader, then it would be seriously even more epic than Ben's arc being originals knowing Vader is Anakin.

‘A Poem A Day’ - A K-Drama Review
Tumblr media
Note: This review will contain spoilers.
About This Show: A Poem A Day / You Who Forgot Poetry is a slice-of-life drama that follows the lives of several people working in the physical therapy unit of a hospital. The plot follows Woo Bo-Young, a precious cinnamon role who loves poetry and crushes on another doctor in her field.
The Good Stuff:
Bo Young Is A Star: You all know how much I love a strong female lead and Woo Bo-Young is no exception. To be clear, “strong” doesn’t always mean “kicks butt and is loud.” She’s bubbly and happy and caring. She always puts other people’s needs first, and has a ton of empathy for others. She’s humble but speaks her mind. She openly cries and shows emotion. I love how they developed her personality and enjoyed watching every scene she was in.
Tumblr media
Creativity in storytelling: This season hasn’t been great for the Romance genre so I appreciate that ‘A Poem A Day’ goes out on a limb and picks an interesting setting, and uses a format with poetry that I’ve never seen before! If you don’t like poetry, you will after you watch this show as it uses a very interesting and pretty way of reciting poetry from episode to episode.
Side Characters: The show’s greatest strength was in really good side character development (this is also a flaw - see below) My love for Nam-Woo and Joo-Yong is HUGE and Yoon-Joo is another strong female with a magical supportive friendship with Bo-Young.
The Bad Stuff:
Uneven Character Development: ‘A Poem A Day’ does an amazing job developing side characters but completely skips over the main male lead. He’s introverted and quirky, but the writers give him very little backstory and up until the very last episode we still have no idea who he is. The last episode FINALLY has a magical scene of him trying to awkwardly relate to his peers and failing. That’s the stuff we needed on episode SIX!
The Side Characters Deserve Better: The best part of this show was all of the side characters but that ended up being a major flaw of the show due to bad writing. They all had interesting back stories and I was extremely invested in them. Don’t get attached to knowing what’s going to happen though, because the show resolves none of them. Nam Woo and his first love? Nope. Yoon Joo and her marriage situation and possible hook up with Dae Bang? Nope. Min Ho and his family dynamics? Nope. DOES NAM WOO GET A NEW SHIRT?!  If they had spent three episodes less on the love triangle, we could have had endings to all of these!
Weak Romance: When everyone on tumblr is arguing about who Bo Young should choose (including the option of her being alone instead), you know the writers have failed us in the romance department. There is a very lame love triangle in this show, and it’s frustrating because a lot of it feels forced (including a last minute confession that no one cares about). The writers build up Min Ho as the jerk-y second lead and then throw his character off of a cliff by making him completely unredeemable. And I love a beta male who puts the leading lady first like Dr. Ye does. BUT because we have no Idea who he is other than thoughtful and serious, it’s hard to really feel the passion when they kiss or have romantic moments. The most romantic moments weren’t even real, but in Bo Young’s imagination. There was just not enough to work with even though there is nothing problematic with their relationship. I honor Bo Young’s opinion and she can be in love with whomever she wants - I just didn’t feel the chemistry.
Tumblr media
In conclusion: This show had a lot of lovely visual elements and a quirky setup with great characters. But it was presented as a slice-of-life romance and in that department it failed us. They should have spent more time on character development, and treated the romance as a side element.
Rating: 7/10
(creativity is really important to me as a drama watcher, so I gave the show an extra point)
